Opis:
Among various forms of sanctity, implemented in various forms of life and activity of believers, the vocation as spouses, implemented in a particular act of giving yourself to another person, constitutes a specific type  of sanctity. This acts mirrors Christ’s gift of love given to His Church. Parental and educational role of spouses indicates the existence of dual dimension: natural and transcendental one. As far as nature is concerned, spouses engage actively in social development by bearing and rearing offspring, transmitting values that humanize a person and society. In case of the transcendental dimension, the parental and educational act of spouses constitutes cooperation in the creative act of God, creating a human “in the likeness and image” of God (Genesis 1, 27) and is participation in the act improving the development of the world, in line with the will of the Creator (cf. Genesis 1, 28). That is why, the primacy of Christian upbringing of children, thanks to which a new person acquires an integral dimension, should play important role in a Christian family, especially in its educational role.

The aim of the article above is an attempt of the natural approach of based categories of bioethics, namely quality of life, the value of human life, and the sanctity of life (the quality of life makes its sanctity). By thorough analysis, in the biological aspect of goodness and evil and by study the emerging of rational and free (human) Being in the evolutional perspective the effort of showing of uniqueness, specificity, and immunity of a human person is undertaken. The analysis tends toward creating a basis for bioethical valuation. Bioethics as interdisciplinary science has to be based on interdisciplinary anthropology taking into account the ontic-existential structure of human beings.

W szerokiej gamie prawosławnej świętości ludzkiej znajduje się m.in. kategoria świętych władców. Chociaż reprezentowana jest ona przez stosunkowo znaczną liczbę świętych, to niezasłużenie pozostaje w cieniu innych – tych bardziej znanych czy posiadających głębsze korzenie historyczne. Dodatkowo sytuacja taka może być również związana z tym, że święci władcy, jako oddzielna kategoria świętych, nie są osobno wspominani ani podczas proskomidii, ani w czasie modlitwy wstawienniczej anafory. Mimo to święci władcy z pewnością powinni być traktowani jako osobny typ świętości, zasługujący na nieco szersze omówienie. To też cel stawia przed sobą niniejszy artykuł. Jest on ponadto próbą zaproponowania wewnętrznej systematyki tej kategorii świętości. Przedstawiając występujące w nauce klasyfikacje prawowiernych, autor przedstawia również swoją propozycję. W ramach kategorii świętych władców wyodrębniane są następujące cztery grupy: (1) władcy nie będący ani męczennikiem, ani stanu monastycznego, ani cierpiętnikiem, (2) władcy, którzy zakończyli swoje życie śmiercią męczeńską, (3) władcy, którzy nie na łożu śmierci, lecz wcześniej złożyli śluby monastyczne i wiedli żywot mnisi, oraz (4) władcy-cierpiętnicy.
In the wide spectre of Orthodox human sanctity, among others, there is also a category of saint rulers. Despite the fact that it’s represented by a significant number of saints, it remains, utterly undeservedly, in the shadow of the others- more known or more deeply rooted historically. On top of that, the situation may result as well from the fact that saint rulers, as a distinct category of saint, are not separately mentioned neither during the proskomedia, nor during the intercessory prayer of the anaphora. Still, the saint rulers definitely should be considered a separate type of sanctity, deserving a somehow wider presentation. Such is therefore the aim of this article. It is also an attempt of suggesting an interior systematic of this category of sanctity. Preserving, appearing in science, classifications of the saint rulers, the author gives also his own proposition. In the category of saint rulers there are four following groups: (1) rulers who weren’t neither martyrs nor monks or passion-bearers, (2) rulers who died martyrs, (3) rulers who long before their death became monks and led monastic life, (4) rulers-passion-bearers.

Zgodnie z nauka Kościoła prawosławnego prorocy stanowią osobny typ starotestamentowych świętych, czczonych jako osoby natchnione Świętym Duchem, które głosiły ludowi wolę Bożą. To nie tyle osoby zapowiadające czy przepowiadające przyszłość, co ludzie będący „ustami” Boga na ziemi. W prawosławiu prorocy, obok praojców, traktowani są zasadniczo jako osobna kategoria świętych Starego Testamentu. Przedmiotem rozważań autora artykułu jest przedstawienie proroków jako osobnej kategorii świętości w Kościele ze szczególnym zaakcentowaniem ich wewnętrznej systematyki. Autor przedstawia również definicje terminów: „prorok” oraz innych używanych wobec proroków terminów. Omawia rozwój profetyzmu starotestamentowego w różnych okresach historycznych, poczynając od Mojżesza, zwanego „pierwszym z proroków”, poprzez proroków poszczególnych epok dziejów narodu wybranego, na ostatnim proroku Starego Testamentu i pierwszym Nowego Testamentu – św. Janie Chrzcicielu – kończąc.
According to the teaching of the Orthodox Church prophets are the separate type of the Old Testament saints, venerated as persons inspired by the Holy Spirit, men announcing the will of God to the people. There were not so much persons foretelling the future as rather men fulfilling role of “the mouth of God” on the earth. In Orthodoxy, prophets as well as forefathers, are basically considered as a separate category of the Old Testament saints. In this article the author presents prophets as a separate category of sanctity in the Church, particularly accentuating their interior systematic. The author defines the term “prophet” as well as other words or expressions used when talking about prophets. He discusses the development of Old Testament prophetism in various historical periods, beginning with Moses – called “the first among prophets”, throughout the prophets of consecutive epochs in the history of the Chosen People, ending with the last of the Old Testament prophets being at the same time the firs of the New Testament – saint John the Baptist.

The paper presents the issue of the sanctity and the history of the procedures worked out by the Roman Catholic Church of the canonization. Canonization is the act by which a particular Christian church declares a dead person to be a saint and is included in the canon. Originally, individuals were recognized as saints without any formal process. Canonization, whether formal or informal, does not make someone a saint: it is only a declaration that the person is a saint and was a saint even before canonization.

Powołanie do świętości jest dla ochrzczonych darem i zadaniem. Jest to wspaniały dar nieskończonej miłości Boga, poprzez które Chrystus dał samego siebie jako ofiarę przebłagalną za grzechy ludzi. W Nim Kościół staje się święty. Przejawia się to w uświęceniu jego członków. Kościół grzeszników staje się Kościółem świętych.W sposób szczególny, sakramentalni małżonkowie uczestniczą w miłości Chrystusa. Są Oni zaproszeni do wzięcia udziału w tej "wielkiej tajemnicy" miłości "aż do końca". Uczestniczą w nim i co stają się one w sposób zamierzony przez samego Stwórcę. Pomocą na ich drodze jest regularne doświadczenie sakramentu pokuty w połączeniu z kierownictwem duchowym.
The call to holiness is for the baptized the gift and task. It is a marvelous gift of God's infinite love, by which Christ gave Himself as a sacrifice of expiation for people's sins. Though Him the Church becomes holy. This is manifested in the sanctification of its members. The Church of sinners becomes the Church of saints by the persistent undertaking of conversion.In a particular way, sacramental spouses are participants in the love of Christ. They are invited to participate in this „great mystery". If you truly love and „to the end" - they participate in it and what they become as intended by the Creator himself. The help they get on their way is regular experience of the sacrament of penance combined with spiritual direction.

A teacher’s work with children of preschool and early school age focuses on achieving the teaching and educational objectives, as well as those related to childcare. The tasks include, among others, supporting pupils in shaping the image of the world, recognising different values and criteria,as well as methods of choosing them, obtaining basic social skills, and shaping moral and religious attitudes. The educator is obliged to show the children universal values and ethical principles. They also have to present role models and motivate their pupils to imitate them. All of this fosters an image of sanctity among children. When it comes to making decisions regarding the shaping of the image of sanctity among children, the teacher is restricted by educational law, especially the core curriculum of general education, as well as the school’s curriculum. This restriction applies mainly to the objectives and content of teaching and education. However, in matters of methodology, the teacher has many possibilities for creative action. They may exceed the methodologies suggested by educational law and design their own teaching innovations. With regard to shaping the image of sanctity among children, of particular note are All Saints’ Day balls, Angel Days, educational games and activities, family fairs, saints’ parades, competition and stage productions.

In the article, the phenomenon of yurodstvo has been recalled, which is a characteristic and perhaps the brightest realization of the Eastern Christian ideal of sanctity as a clear projection of its irrational or even specifically perverse potential. The examples which are quoted in the considerations and selected from a rich literary corpus (Old Russian, Old Bulgarian and Old Serbian), are colourful manifestations of sanctity in Eastern Christian terms, which can be defined only in a specific religious or socio-cultural context. For that reason, it was considered that this specially designed sanctity should be interpreted in the key of negative theology which is typical of the Eastern (Orthodox) Christianity. Also known as apophatic, this theology assumes the impossibility of a positive knowledge of God, which entails a specific helplessness of reason towards the phenomenon that exceeds all applicable established standards. In the discussed case, the reflection intentionally goes beyond the limits of exemplification of the sainted yurodstvo, since it also covers other types of sanctity, recognized and perpetuated in the Eastern Christian (including Church Slavonic) tradition, and shows the proximity of all projections of the so-called parenetic sanctity along with the relationship between the yurodstvo itself and eremitism and  Monasticism. In this wide exemplification range, it seems justified that the incarnated sanctity of the yurodivy, a hermit or a monk, revealing itself in the socio-cultural reality in an unusual, incomprehensible or even perverse way, is an emanation of the numinous mystery which escapes the rational orders. This emanation should be, therefore, regarded as a phenomenon going beyond the boundaries of intellectual cognition, socio-cultural sphere, or a fixed standard.

Streszczenie: W ostatnich kilku dekadach można zauważyć wzrost rozpadających się związków małżeńskich. Zapewne przyczyn takiego stanu jest wiele. Jedną z nich jest szerzenie się  indywidualizmu, którego konsekwencje uderzają w małżeństwo. Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu omówienie zagrożeń, które niesie kultura indywidualistyczna w wypełnianiu przez małżonków powołania do świętości. Są nimi na przykład egoizm, hedonizm, konsumpcjonizm, utylitaryzm, permisywizm oraz szeroko pojęte nadużywanie wolności. Analizy poruszanego zagadnienia dokona się z perspektywy nauczania papieża Jana Pawła II, starając się również odpowiedzieć na pytanie czy w kontekście współczesnych przemian kulturowych jest ono jeszcze aktualne.
Summary: In the last few decades, an increase in disintegrating marriages is noticeable. There are probably many reasons for this. One of these is the spread of individualism, which consequences affect a marriage. This study aims to discuss the threats that individualistic culture poses to fulfilling the summons to the sanctity of spouses. These are, for example, selfishness, hedonism, consumerism, utilitarianism, permissiveness, and the broadly understood abuse of freedom. The issue will be analyzed from the perspective of Pope John Paul II's teaching, trying to answer the question of whether it is still valid in the context of contemporary cultural changes.

From the very beginning of its existence the Orthodox Church proclaimed the sanctity of the conceived life and protected that conceived life, condemning those who threatened it. The orthodox Church based its teaching on the testimony of the Holy Scripture both of the Old and the New Testament, teaching of the Church Fathers and canons of Church councils and synods. It is also confirmed by contemporary declarations of the local Churches, announced in order to counteract the mass phenomena of abortion, to defend the right to life of the defenceless unborn children. Discussions on the questions of bioethics aim at limiting the dimensions of the phenomena, at abolishing particularly cruel methods of practicing the abortion. The Orthodox Church also commemorates in prayer the unborn children as it is done by the Orthodox Church of Greece. The conceived life is saint, therefore the value of no man whatsoever can be submitted any utilitarian calculations. The sanctity of life has an absolute value.

The article shows ineach of the seven biographies the path of gradual maturation in faith embedded in the historical context of events crucial for Poland. A common feature of all the characters is their strong commitment to the cause of education and patriotism based on a solid religious and moral foundation.

The symbolic beginning of the Bulgarian National Rebirth dates back to 1762 when Paisii Hilendarski wrote History of the Slavobulgarian, which was the first historgraphic work in the Bulgarian literature. Among others, the work has been widely discussed from a linguistic point of view. This time, however, the author does not concentrate on its symbolic dimension in the process of development of the Bulgarian literary language but on the lexis concerning the Bulgarian rulers. The article covers an analysis of Paisii’s lexemes, expressions and phrases with the help of which the chronicler assessed the ruler and, at the same time, shaped opinions of the readers of his time.

Przedmiotem rozważań autora jest wkład Kościoła katolickiego w głoszenie świętości życia i jego ochronę. Decydujące znaczenie w określeniu wartości i świętości ludzkiego życia ma chrześcijańskie spojrzenie na człowieka, tak w wymiarach właściwych dla antropologii filozoficznej, jak i teologicznej. W punkcie wyjścia autor zaprezentował metodyczną i treściową argumentację Kościoła katolickiego za nienaruszalnością i świętością ludzkiego życia. Następnie przedmiotem analiz była wartość ludzkiego życia odczytana w Piśmie Świętym oraz nauczaniu Magisterium Kościoła, a także nienaruszalność godności osoby ludzkiej. Powiązana z nią jest bezwzględnie obowiązująca norma „nie zabijaj” (zakaz bezpośredniego zabójstwa niewinnego). W końcowej części studium omówione zostało przede wszystkim od strony obowiązywalności i uzasadnienia prawo do słusznej obrony.
