    L’articolo riguarda la questione della memoria, fortuna e fama dalle quali si comincia il prologo dei "Libri della famiglia" di Alberti. L’autrice analizza i motivi sopraelencati basandosi anche sulla tradizione e scrittura umanistica e riferendosi alle ricordanze mercantili. Viene alla conclusione che secondo Alberti la memoria in quanto conoscenza sui nostri antenati costituisce un fondamento stabile della grandezza dei membri della famiglia e dello Stato, e conferma anche la grandezza dell’uomo perché sole le persone virtuose meritano di essere rammentate.

    Opis:
    The article deals with the current state of odor nuisance from biogas plants in Slovakia in the context of changes in the legislative regulatory for these operations regarding increased odor control requirements. Research is focused on direct analysis of odor status in the vicinity of existing biogas plant operations in regions of Slovakia based on information obtained from local government representatives and the competent administrative authorities. Biogas plants were divided into groups according to identified frequency of odor. The research also focuses on the analysis of the separation distance of biogas plants from the nearest residential area and the impact of the storing method of inputs and outputs from the biogas process on odor. It is concluded that measures adopted in the amendment will not affect the already satisfactory odor situation in location of majority of biogas plants and most of the signs of odor are caused by a relatively small percentage of biogas plants. The method of storing has only a secondary synergistic effect and primary factors of odor formation are different.

    Opis:
    The results of initial literature review indicate that elderly persons are underrepresented in the clinical trials on which clinical recommendations are based. This gave stimulus to perform the ‘Increasing the PaRticipation of the ElDerly In Clinical Trials’ (PREDICT) project, financed by the EU within the FP7. The goal of the PREDICT was to study reasons why older people are excluded from clinical trials based on age-related criteria and development of the charter including recommendations to prevent their exclusion. The project gathered investigators from 11 institutions in 9 countries: Czech Republic, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, and the UK. Within the scope of PREDICT, first, to assess the scope of the problem the systematic review of literature was performed, then the opinion shared by the health care professionals, ethicists, and representatives of pharmaceutical industry on the possible reasons of underrepresentation of old people in trials was examined, then finally the opinion of elderly patients and their caregivers were assessed. The analysis of gathered data enabled creation of PREDICT charter which contains recommendations aiming to increase the participation of elderly people in clinical trials

    This study compared the challenges of 20 education supervisors in executing technology-assisted and in-person supervision. These supervisors oversee the curriculum articulation for over 200,000 Filipino learners in 85 Philippine public schools. Results showed that technology-assisted supervision (Mn=3.18; Md=3.26) outscored in-person supervision (Mn=2.88; Md=2.95), with the former mode of supervision obtaining higher perceived challenges than the latter. However, the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test found an insignificant difference in their degrees of challenges when grouped according to the mode of supervision used (p-value=.191>.05), indicating the need to further explore the supervisors’ experiences to improve their supervision quality.

    This qualitative exploration is a follow-up study to the quantitative research published in a peer-reviewed international journal in 2023. Generally, the study delved into the transition experiences and preferences of 20 Filipino education supervisors in relation to their supervisory practices in over 80 Philippine public schools. Through validated open-ended interview questions, the responses were gathered and subsequently subjected to thematic analysis, which resulted in the emergence of the following themes: (1) the adjustments and challenges of the supervisors as they switched back from technology-assisted to in-person supervision; and (2) their preferred mode of supervision in the new normal of education.
