Opis:: The subject of this presentation is celebrating of the sacrament of confirmation. There are two canons only at the Code of Canon Law referring to this sacrament: 880 and the following. What is enclosed by the Legislator at the Code does not exhaust the whole matter, as at the canon # 2 of CCL there already appears an explicit reservation: “For the most part of the Code does not define the rites which are to be observed in celebrating liturgical actions”. That is why the basic second resources of this analysis are the norms included in Confirmation rite applied to the customs of the dioceses in Poland. What needs to be paid attention at in celebration of this sacrament is individual imposition of the hand with simultaneous words prescribed in the approved liturgical books and anointing with chrism on the forehead of the candidate.

Opis:: The paper is devoted to the importance and the purpose of the sacrament of confirmation, which obliges the recipient to take responsibility for the worldwide mission of the Church. The author discusses the following issues: terminology- and definition-related problems (1), Biblical foundations (2), the institution and rite (3), theology (4). The paper emphasizes three dimensions of the confirmation sacrament, namely: anthropological - the confirmation imposes on recipients of the sacrament the responsibility for their own life and prepares them for the fight with evil; ecclesiastical-sacramental - the sacrament of confirmation unites the recipients with the structure of the Church, and prepares them to undertake missionary tasks; Christological - the confirmation sacrament allows those who have confirmed to participate in the pastoral, teaching, and sanctifying function performed by Jesus Christ.

Opis:: Kościół został powołany przez Jezusa Chrystusa, by stanowił wspólnotę miłości dla wszystkich ludzi. Jest to wspólnota, czerpiąca miłość od Jezusa Chrystusa, który swą obecność urzeczywistnia we wzajemnej miłości. W takim kontekście autor próbuje odczytać prawo osób niepełnosprawnych intelektualnie do korzystania z darów sakramentalnych, w tym sakramentu bierzmowania. Sakrament ten, ostatni z sakramentów wtajemniczenia chrześcijańskiego, dla osób niepełnosprawnych intelektualnie, nawet w stopniu głębokim, oznacza doświadczenie miłości Boga w drugim człowieku i we wspólnocie. Autor uważa, że takie osoby stanowią szczególny dar miłości Boga dla wspólnoty, która bierze na siebie odpowiedzialność za kruchość ludzkiego życia.
The Church was called by Jesus Christ to be a community of love for every human being. That community draws love from life of Jesus Christ: He actualizes His presence when people try to love others. In that context the author of publication tries to focus on rights of mentally disabled people: they need the sacramental gifts as well as every Christian. And the sacrament of confirmation is also deeply important. This is the last of sacraments of initiation. For the mentally (even in deepest degree) disabled people that fact means an experience of love in others and community. The author claims that such people are very special gift for the community which is responsible for the fragile aspect of human life.

Opis:: The article is an attempt to show the most important assumptions concerning the process of preparation for the sacrament of conﬁrmation. The reﬂection is based on the assumption that in the document of Polish Bishops’ Conference there are some truths which are necessary to be discovered and put in catechetical practice. These truths determine the whole process of catechesis and make her more fruitful. Aﬅer forming the question related to eﬃciency of our catechesis and describing a necessity of pastoral conversion, the author forms the following indications for catechesis: the unity with Christ as the fundament of preparation to conﬁrmation, spiritual nature of all catechetical measures, a great value of candidates meeting in groups, the experience of community and prayer, spiritual retreats for the youth, a necessity of collaboration with parents, controlling of own emotions. At the end of the reﬂection, the author points out the indications regarding the conﬁrmation which depend on the catechist and his engagement in catechesis.
Artykuł jest próbą przedstawienia najważniejszych założeń dotyczących procesu przygotowania do sakramentu bierzmowania. Reﬂeksja opiera się na założeniu, że w dokumencie Konferencji Episkopatu Polski znajdują się pewne prawdy, które należy odkryć i umieścić w praktyce katechetycznej. Te prawdy decydują o całym procesie katechezy i czynią ją bardziej owocną. Po sformułowaniu pytania dotyczącego skuteczności naszej katechezy i opisaniu konieczności nawrócenia duszpasterskiego, autor formułuje następujące wskazania dla katechezy: jedność z Chrystusem jako fundament przygotowania do potwierdzenia, duchowy charakter wszystkich środków katechetycznych, wielką wartość spotkania kandydatów w grupach, doświadczenie wspólnoty i modlitwy, rekolekcje duchowe dla młodzieży, konieczność współpracy z rodzicami, kontrolowanie własnych emocji. Pod koniec reﬂeksji autor wskazuje na te kwestie przygotowania do bierzmowania, które zależą od katechety i jego zaangażowania w katechezę.

Opis:: Celem artykułu jest ukazanie zagadnienia administratora diecezjalnego jako szafarza sakramentu bierzmowania. W pierwszej części niniejszego studium przedstawiono prawo wiernych do otrzymania sakramentu bierzmowania. W części drugiej ukazano problematykę szafarza bierzmowania, natomiast część trzecia została poświęcona rozwiązaniu kwestii: czy administrator diecezjalny ex ipso iure ma obowiązek i prawo udzielania sakramentu bierzmowania? Konkluzje zawarto we wnioskach zamykających podjęte rozważania.
Метою статті є представити питання адміністратора дієцезії як служителя тайни миропомазання. Перша частина цього дослідження стосується права вірних отримати тайнy миропомазання. Друга частина представляє питання служителя миропомазання, а третя частина присвячена вирішенню питання: чи має адміністратор дієцезії ex ipso iure обов’язок і право уділяти миропомазання? Висновки містяться в заключних підсумках.
Цель данной статьи – представить вопрос о епархиальном администраторе как служителе таинства Миропомазания. В первой части данного исследования изложено право верующих на принятие таинства Миропомазания. Во второй части представлена к обсуждению проблематика служителя Миропомазания, а третья часть посвящена решению вопроса: имеет ли епархиальный администратор ex ipso iure обязанность и право совершать таинство Миропомазания? Выводы приводятся в заключении обсуждения.
The purpose of the article is to present the issue of a diocesan administrator as a minister of the sacrament of confirmation. The first section of the study outlines the right of a worshipper to receive the sacrament of confirmation. The second section presents the issue of the minister of the sacrament of confirmation, while the third section is devoted to answering the question: Is the diocesan administrator, ex ipso iure, obliged and entitled to administer the sacrament of confirmation? The conclusions are included in the summary at the end of the undertaken considerations.

Opis:: Confirmation is the crowning of Baptism, multiplication of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and granting a right to be an active member of the Church. Confirmation has its autonomy and uniquely conveys the gift of the Holy Spirit. On Confirmation, every Christian bears witness to Christ’s truth. He or she should then awaken in people a sense of responsibility for the Church and in consequence salvation of the world. Receiving Confirmation has an influence on personal and social life of Christians. The quality of preparation and amount of good will affect the degree of this influence in daily life. The impact should manifest itself as tightening of the bond with Christ, multiplication of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and strengthening of the bond with Christ. As far as the social aspect is concerned, the confirmed person is to proclaim faith, bear responsibility for building the Church community, participate in the cult and contribute to the community’s work.

Opis:: In the Coptic Orthodox Church the pneumatological and reconciliation meaning of the confirmation is emphasized. The pneumatological-reconciliation aspect of confirmation points to the ontological supplement which occurs during the administering the initiation sacraments. The Coptic theology of the sacrament of confirmation with its pneumatological-reconciliation meaning may be a creative impulse for the catholic theology and for the whole western Christianity be an inspiration in extending the theological horizons, discovering new aspects in sacramentology and ecclesiology.
W Ortodoksyjnym Kościele Koptyjskim podkreśla się pneumatologiczne oraz rekoncyliacyjne znaczenie bierzmowania. Pneumatologiczno-rekoncyliacyjny wymiar sakramentu bierzmowania wskazuje na ontologiczne dopełnienie, które ma miejsce w czasie udzielania sakramentów inicjacyjnych. Koptyjska teologia sakramentu bierzmowania wraz z jej pneumatologiczno-rekoncyliacyjnym znaczeniem może być twórczym impulsem dla teologii katolickiej, a dla chrześcijaństwa zachodniego inspiracją w poszerzaniu horyzontów teologicznych, odkrywaniu nowych aspektów w sakramentologii i eklezjologii.

Opis:: Już od czasów apostolskich do istotnych obrzędów pochrzcielnych należy przede wszystkim włożenie rąk. Potwierdzają to świadectwa liturgii pierwszych wieków, łączące ten gest z przekazaniem daru Ducha Świętego. We wczesnym średniowieczu, kiedy bierzmowanie stało się niezależnym od chrztu obrzędem, impositio manuum ma coraz mniejsze znaczenie, a jego istotną rolę przejmuje namaszczenie olejem wraz z odpowiednią formułą. Po Soborze Trydenckim zostaje w pewnej mierze przypomniana i przywrócona praktyka apostolska w tym zakresie, lecz sam właściwy gest jest nadal antycypowany przez namaszczenie, któremu towarzyszy formuła. Odnowa liturgii bierzmowania po Vaticanum II dokonała rewaloryzacji włożenia rąk (w sensie extensio manuum), które jest związane z modlitwą o dar Ducha Świętego.
Already from the Apostolic times, the important postbaptismal rituals include, above all, the imposition of hands (impositio manuum). This is confirmed by the liturgical testimonies of the first centuries, combining this gesture with the tradition of the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the early Middle Ages, when Confirmation became a rite independent of baptism, the impositio manuum was less and less important, and oil anointing, which was accompanied by the appropriate formula, took over its important role. After the Council of Trent, Apostolic practice in this regard is recalled and restored to some extent, but the actual gesture itself is still anticipated by anointing with formula. The renewal of the Confirmation liturgy after Vatican II revaluated the laying on of hands (in the sense of extensio manuum), which is associated with prayer for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Opis:: The progress of theology and canon law in the last century has brought a new understanding of the minister of the sacrament of confirmation. It makes us inquire after the current juridical status of this issue and leads us to appraise whether the present norms have the character of the definitive expression of the Church lawgiver. The analysis of the existing norms in this area allows us to become aware of the differences between the Latin Church and the Eastern Catholic Churches. In the Latin Church the ordinary minister of confirmation is the bishop and only few presbyters confer this sacrament on the basis of the universal law or owing to a special permission. In the Eastern Catholic Churches the minister of chrismation is every presbyter. Discussing the way confirmation is administered we should also have in mind the practice of these separated Churches that preserved this sacrament and during its celebration draw from the tradition of the West as well as of the East of Christianity. It seems that the present norms will evolve and the body of presbyters of the Latin Church, enabled ipso iure to administer the sacrament of confirmation, will grow in number.

Opis:: Jednym z podstawowych zadań spoczywających na wspólnocie parafialnej Kościoła katolickiego jest tworzenie przestrzeni umożliwiających spotkanie z Bogiem na wspólnej modlitwie, w sakramentach świętych i w słowie Bożym. Ważne jest, by parafie stwarzały również warunki, które mogą pomóc kształtować wiarę i umożliwić jej doświadczenie. Tak wielowymiarowe zadanie, spoczywające na wspólnotach parafialnych, realizuje się m.in. przez planowaną i systematyczną posługę katechetyczną, zwłaszcza tę przygotowującą do przyjęcia sakramentów świętych. Mając na uwadze pluralizm doświadczeń religijnych współczesnej młodzieży oraz potrzebę jak najskuteczniejszego oddziaływania katechetycznego, zwłaszcza w przygotowaniu kandydatów do sakramentu bierzmowania, proponuje się obecnie m.in. zaangażowanie w to przygotowanie większej grupy osób, zarówno duchownych, jak i świeckich, którzy świadectwem swojego życia wiary wzmocnią przekaz katechetyczny. W niniejszym opracowaniu ukazana została rola świeckich animatorów w przygotowaniu kandydatów do sakramentu bierzmowania, istotne elementy formacji animatorów oraz formy posługi. Odpowiedzialna współpraca prowadzona w duchu dialogu oraz wielkoduszności może zaowocować w przyszłym dorosłym życiu katechizowanych.
One of the basic functions of the Catholic Church parish community is creating the space for communing with God in common prayer, the holy sacraments and the Word of God, creating the environment shaping the faith and enabling the experience of faith. This multidimensional task, being part of the parish community work, is implemented, among others, through scheduled and systematic catechetical service, especially when it comes to preparing for the reception of the holy sacraments. Considering the pluralism of contemporary youths’ religious experience and the need for the most effective catechetical impact, especially during the time of preparation for the sacrament of confirmation, what is currently being suggested is the involvement of a larger group of people, both the clergy and the laity, who could enforce the catechetical message with their testimony of the life of faith. This elaboration will show the role of lay animators in the time of preparation of candidates for the sacrament of confirmation, relevant elements of the animators’ formation and forms of service. Responsible cooperation led in the spirit of dialogue and generosity may bring fruit in the future adult life of the catechized.

Bpowi Świerzawskiemu bardzo zależało, aby sakrament bierzmowania był dobrze rozumiany i przyjmowany z żywą wiarą przez jego diecezjan. Bierzmowanie bowiem dynamizuje osobowość ochrzczonego. Uzdalnia go także do brania współodpowiedzialności za Kościół, nie jakiś Kościół, ale za konkretnych ludzi, z którymi bierzmowany ten Kościół tworzy.
The presence of the Paschal mystery of Christ in the Liturgy is caused by the Holy Spirit. He causes the saving act of Christ effective anamnesis. In the sacrament of confirmation the Paraclete perfects the act of Christ that began in the sacrament of baptism. With the power of His gifts, the Holy Spirit enables a man to get to know the God's truth easier and to give effective testimony about God who is Love. It is the Holy Spirit who enables the participants of the sacrament of testimony to lively faith. Yet, the lively faith brings the baptismal promises up to date as they will become the promises of the sacrament of baptism as well. Bishop Świerzawski was deeply concerned about the fact the sacrament of baptism was well understood and accepted with a lively faith by his diocesans. It is because the sacrament of confirmation makes the personality of the baptised person dynamic. It also enables them to take the co-responsibility for the Church, not any Church, but the specific people who the confirmed person forms the Church with.

Opis:: Formation of an ecclesial community constitutes the basic moral call arising from reception of the sacrament of confirmation. Formation of the person should also aim at accomplishing this objective. The Holy Spirit given in the sacrament of confirmation plays a fundamental role in building the Church. Opening up to the gift of the Holy Spirit and submission to His direction allows to find the proper place in the Church and accept full responsibility for destiny of the Church. The ecclesiological role of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of conformation sounds significantly in the teaching of Benedict XVI. In his speeches and documents, the Pope repeatedly brought the truth about the special power of the Holy Spirit and His gifts into building the community dimension of the life of the Church. Therefore, in this reflection – based on allocations of Pope Benedict XVI – the ecclesiological role of the Holy Spirit, coming in the sacrament of confirmation, was presented.
Duch Święty dany w sakramencie bierzmowania odgrywa fundamentalną rolę w budowaniu Kościoła. Otwartość na dar Ducha Świętego i poddanie się Jego kierownictwu pozwala znaleźć właściwe miejsce w Kościele i przyjąć pełną odpowiedzialność za jego przeznaczenie. Eklezjotwórcza rola Ducha Świętego w sakramencie bierzmowania jest znaczącym elementem w nauczaniu Benedykta XVI.

Opis:: The present article relates to the disposal of sewage. 1065 § 1 The Code of Canon Law, which requires the adoption of the sacrament of Confirmation of the Catholics who want to enter into the sacrament of the marriage. The author has developed an article based on open questions - maneat questio - the shape of this regulation, not giving clear answers to his conclusions, but provoking or inviting to the necessary scientific discussion and, consequently, to the good pastoral resolutions. It is reflected in so close connection of canon with the practical theology. This first becomes a source of applications for the solutions of the second. In this way, the first part is a presentation of the evolution of law regulations on the basis of canon law either universal or particular and presents a canonical and theological trials to explain the operation of the relevant canon of fairness as well as certain risks of its application to the specific cases. The second, which is a consequence of the questions raised in the first part, relates directly to the opinion of canonists and theologians attempt to justify taking a broad spectrum of the candidate's age for the Confirmation.

Opis:: The article shows the names of the sacrament of confi rmation used in Piotr Skarga’s sermons. The analyzed material has been taken from Kazania o śiedmi Sákrámentách, published in 1600 in Kraków by Andrzej Piotrkowczyk publishinh house, whereas the comparative material has originated from Słownik polszczyzny XVI wieku and other publications about religious language, which are enumerated in the bibliography. The analysis of the materials shows that Skarga has not created new names for the sacrament of confirmation. They have the same forms as in the Bible or in the papers of Church Fathers, namely confi rmation, sacrament of confi rmation.
