Opis:
The aim of the study was to identify the factors that influence situating the students in the Comfort–Stretch-Panic (CSP) zones in the perspective of transition from remote to direct education. The study uses an original tool adapted upon the CSP concept. The presented data was obtained in 2021, from a representative sample of 1125 students. Thus, obtained data allowed to determine the factors of willingness of the primary school students to return to direct education. The research hypotheses were verified using a multinomial logit model. The study shows that the students' readiness depends on factors such as: gender and age, active participation in the online educational process, difficulties related to the process and relationships at school, as well as the family and school support potential. The significant influence caused by the students' personal problems and psychophysical condition on their potential return to direct education was not observed.

This article examines a sub-genre of postmemoirs which have been published since the mid1980s, written by children and grandchildren of veteran combatants of the Allied Forces. These British and American generational texts both preserve and unveil hidden historical memory of these men’s participation in what is often referred to as the deadliest war in human history. The silent suffering of these veterans and their families had not been widely disclosed until Stephen Spielberg’s film Saving Private Ryan opened a Pandora’s box. And yet, it remains an enigmatic memory in the collective consciousness of the post-war period. These writers recount the experiences not only of their fathers’ wars, but of homecoming and the subsequent psychological impact of the war on family life, whilst also attempting to understand and come to terms with their own traumatic resonances rooted in these veterans’ Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I discuss some examples of these texts, which include writers such as Germaine Greer, Lucinda Franks, Leila Levinson, Cole Moreton, or Carol Schultz Vento, who have written within this postmemoir sub-genre. I discuss some common approaches to these postmemorial narratives, which interweave tropes of archival romance, confessional literature, and historiographic metafiction. These family postmemoirs challenge the oft mythologized cultural memory of the ‘Good War’, question the meaning of heroism, and reveal the unspoken traumas of post-war familial life, and ultimately contribute not only to disclosing an unknown history but to broadening the thematic horizons of postmemory to the post-generations of Allied ex-servicemen.

Opis:
Aim. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused various changes in the lives of academic youth. The closure of universities, the transition to distance education, limited social interactions and difficulties in the labour market often resulted in decisions to return to the family home and live with their parents again. This change generated subsequent transformations in various areas of the students’ functioning. The considerations undertaken in this article were devoted to the analysis of the specific functioning of students living with their parents again during a pandemic, based on the results of the team’s own research, as well as a review of other research carried out during this period with the participation of students. Methods and materials. The study was conducted using an online survey questionnaire on a sample of 1, 215 students of Polish universities from February to November 2020. The research results revealed that the surveyed young students who returned to their family home during the pandemic experienced a decline in civic engagement, spiritual life, activities related to professional career development, and deterioration of their interpersonal relationships. Results and conclusion. The considerations made in the article seem to be justified because they may help determine the psychophysical condition, relationships with parents, and economic, educational, and professional conditions of students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This will enable the implementation of appropriate actions and preventive programs to support this social group in adapting to functioning in the new pandemic (and post-pandemic) reality and counteracting difficulties, fears, and anxieties related to life changes expected in the future.
Cel. Pandemia COVID-19 wywołała różne zmiany w życiu młodzieży akademickiej. Zamknięcie szkół wyższych, przejście na edukację zdalną, ograniczone interakcje społeczne oraz trudności na rynku pracy skutkowały nierzadko decyzjami o powrocie do domu rodzinnego oraz ponownym zamieszkaniu z rodzicami. Niniejsza zmiana generowała kolejne, liczne przeobrażenia w różnorodnych obszarach funkcjonowania studentek. Rozważania podjęte w niniejszym artykule zostały poświęcone analizie specyfiki funkcjonowania młodzieży akademickiej ponownie zamieszkującej z rodzicami w okresie pandemii COVID-19 w oparciu o uzyskane wyniki własnych badań zespołowych, jak i również przegląd innych eksploracji badawczych przeprowadzonych w tym okresie z udziałem studentów. Metody i materiały. Badanie przeprowadzone zostało za pomocą internetowego kwestionariusza ankiety na próbie 1215 studentek i studentów polskich uczelni wyższych w terminie od lutego do listopada 2020. Wyniki badań ujawniły, że u badanej młodzieży akademickiej, która powróciła do domu rodzinnego na czas pandemii nastąpił spadek w zaangażowanie obywatelskie, życie duchowe, aktywności związane z rozwijaniem kariery zawodowej oraz pogorszenie jej relacji interpersonalnych. Wyniki i wnioski. Rozważania podjęte w artykule wydają się być zasadne, ponieważ mogą być pomocne przy określeniu kondycji psychofizycznej, relacji z rodzicami oraz warunków ekonomicznych i edukacyjno-zawodowych studentek oraz studentów w warunkach pandemii COVID-19. Umożliwi to wdrożenie odpowiednich działań oraz programów profilaktycznych wspierających niniejszą grupę społeczną w adaptacji do funkcjonowania w nowej rzeczywistości pandemicznej (jak również postpandemicznej) oraz przeciwdziałających trudnościom, lękom, obawom związanym ze zmianami życiowymi przewidywanymi w przyszłości.

After almost three years of the pandemic related to the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, at the beginning of the academic year 2022/2023, readiness to return to full-time education and selected psychological dispositions of 206 civilian students of the Naval Academy were examined. The relationship between students’ attitudes towards the situation of returning to full-time teaching and selected psychosocial conditions such as rumination-reflection, ego resilience, ways of coping with stress and personality dimensions were analyzed. Both groups of respondents differ in terms of their psychological resources, although differently than originally assumed. It turned out that students who want to return to face-to-face learning, and for whom this situation is not an overwhelming problem, do not have better psychosocial characteristics than students who prefer distance learning. The conclusions of this study may help us understand a certain aspect of students’ mental well-being, a different relationship with the environment than before, and the kind of education that we have not yet experienced.

Introduction to essay cluster Molière Revisited. The author presents the most substantial artistic and academic projects carried out in Poland on the occasion of the 400th anniversary of Molière's birth. He recalls 20th-century translators of Molière's comedies into Polish and books by Polish scholars reflecting on various aspects of his work and its reception. He also lists articles on the works of Molière and their translations or productions published in the pages of Pamiętnik Teatralny since 1956.

While analyzing the teaching and attitudes of Pope Francis, we decided to devote this article to the issue of inclusion. Considering the sphere of our interests – education, broadly understood – we focused on the inclusion of students coming from abroad, in the education system in Poland. In our publication, we rely on legal regulations, the results of research and control carried out by the Supreme Audit Office in the field of education of children of foreigners and Polish citizens returning to the country, studies by  researchers of the above-mentioned issues, and we discuss a case study. The conclusions are clear: there are more and more students coming from abroad into Polish schools; despite declarations, schools are not fully prepared for their admission when all responsibility for the organization of education rests with school principals and teachers. The role of pedagogical supervision in this respect is insufficient. It is worth paying special attention to practical guidelines for teachers in order to effectively implement the pedagogy of inclusion.

Człowiek dobrze zmotywowany, pełen entuzjazmu osiąga lepsze wyniki w nauce i jest bardziej zaangażowany. Emocje, osobowość, otoczenie i panująca w nim atmosfera wpływają na nastawienie studenta do nauki i w konsekwencji na jego proces motywacyjny. Okazuje się jednak, że motywacja zależy od wielu czynników, również od formy nauki. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie wyników badań dotyczących tego, czy i w jaki sposób nauczanie zdalne wpłynęło na motywację studentów do kształcenia się, a także jak zmieniło się postrzeganie tej formy nauki po powrocie do nauczania stacjonarnego i/lub hybrydowego. W badaniach wykorzystano metodę badań ankietowych, czyli technikę CAWI. Udział w nich wzięło 415 respondentów – studentów uczelni. Badania przeprowadzono w grudniu 2022 r., kiedy to studenci po półtorarocznej nauce w formie zdalnej powrócili do nauki w murach uczelni. Dobór próby był losowy.
A person who is well-motivated and enthusiastic achieves better academic results and is more engaged. Emotions, personality, environment and the prevailing atmosphere all influence the student’s attitude towards learning and, consequently, his motivation process. However, it turns out that motivation depends on many factors, also on the form of learning. The aim of this paper is to present the results of a study on whether and how distance learning has affected students’ motivation to learn, and how the perception of this form of learning has changed after returning to full-time and/or hybrid learning. The survey research method used for the study was the CAWI technique. The study population consisted of 415 respondents – university students. The research was conducted in December 2022, when the students returned to study within the walls of the university after one and a half years of remote learning. The sample selection was random. The results of the study clearly show a significant increase in motivation after returning to in-person learning. The mere change in course format and environment from home back to the walls of the university contributed to a large increase in motivation and engagement.

The article is devoted to presenting connections between interaction of investigation procedures and disciplinary proceedings as two stages of proceedings in student’s disciplinary cases. Considerations included in this article are subordinated to assumption, according to which the actual shape of the interaction mentioned above is determined by the way in which the issue of the scope of the interaction of investigation procedures is resolved as well as the impact of the actions taken in these proceedings on the examination of the case in disciplinary proceedings. The analysis of the first of the issues mentioned above gives ground for statement that regulation included in the Act on Higher Education and Science (according to which – returning the petition for punishment in order to complementing the investigation procedures) leads directly to increasing the burden of proof of the investigation procedures in terms of substantive examination of the student’s disciplinary case. The legal solution indicated above determines the wide scope of consolidation of evidences for the Disciplinary Board during the investigation procedures; in fact subject to disproportionate expansion and prepares a disciplinary case for resolution by this committee. This assessment is supported by regulating the impact of the evidence that was perpetuated in investigation procedures on the examination and adjudication of the case in disciplinary proceedings. It resulting in a wide-ranging possibility of using this evidence as a basis for a judgment on disciplinary liability.

W artykule określono międzynarodowe standardy w dziedzinie ochrony zabytków kulturowych i dziedzictwa narodów świata oraz porównano stanu wsparcia regulacyjno-prawnego w tym obszarze w ustawodawstwie Ukrainy. Wyjaśniono procedurę i warunki wywozu – w tym czasowe – wartości kulturowych z terytorium Ukrainy. Poddano analizie porównawczej terminologię zawartą w międzynarodowych i krajowych źródłach prawa w przedmiotowej tematyce.
The purpose of the article is to analyze the current state of legal regulation of issues related to the protection of cultural heritage and the transfer of cultural property across borders. It is also to determine the role and place of customs authorities of Ukraine in the implementation of measures to restore church property. The study explores international standards in the field of preservation of cultural monument and heritage of the peoples of the world and compares of the state regulatory in the national legislation of Ukraine. The procedure and conditions of export – including temporary – cultural property from the territory of Ukraine have been clarified. Subjected to the comparative analysis of the terminology contained in international and national legal sources on these issues.

The author reviews Nataliya Yakubova’s monograph Irena Solska: The Burden of Unusualness (Moscow 2019) which is the result of more than ten years of work. Yakubova emphasizes that for her the past remains an “open project” to which one can (and should) return many times and her book can be seen as such “portal to the past”. The creative and life path of Irena Solska was chosen as the object of research, and its subject was defined as the “burden of unusualness” of the actress’s personality. Yakubova sees the main analytical problem in the conservation of social stereotypes about Irena Solska and diagnoses the fundamental bias, spread in Polish culture, of the myth of Irena Solska as a “demonic woman”. Therefore, the purpose of the study was the interpretation of sources, the destruction of stereotypes, and overcoming patterns of representations. The principle of interdisciplinary research allows her to consider the fate of the star actress as a phenomenon of her time, in the dynamics of complex socio-political, socio-cultural, aesthetic-technological and ideological-emancipatory changes from the late nineteenth century to the late 1930s. Autorka recenzuje monografię Natalii Jakubowej Irena Solska: Ciężar niezwykłości (Moskwa 2019) stanowiącą efekt przeszło dziesięcioletnich badań. Jakubowa podkreśla, że przeszłość jest dla niej „otwartym projektem”, do którego można (i trzeba) wracać wielokrotnie. Jej książkę należy traktować jako tego rodzaju „bramę do przeszłości”. Przedmiotem badań stała się twórcza i życiowa droga Solskiej, temat zaś został określony jako „ciężar niezwykłości” osobowości aktorki. Jakubowa podejmuje problem społecznych stereotypów narosłych wokół aktorki, zwłaszcza powszechnego w polskiej kulturze podtrzymywania mitu Solskiej jako „kobiety demonicznej”. Dlatego głównym celem studium jest interpretacja źródeł, kwestionowanie stereotypów i przekraczanie dotychczasowych modeli reprezentacji. Interdyscyplinarne założenia pracy pozwalają ująć losy aktorskiej gwiazdy w kontekście dynamiki złożonych zmian społeczno-politycznych, społeczno-kulturowych, estetyczno-technologicznych i ideologiczno-emancypacyjnych od końca XIX wieku do późnych lat trzydziestych XX wieku. This study describes reflections of wartime and postwar historical trauma in contemporary Czech prose, taking into account the issues surrounding Central Europe, which entirely overlap with the traditional confrontation between the Czechs and Germans. It also includes the changing reflections on Germany and the Germans, the Second World War and the subsequent expulsion found in the prose work of the new millennium, the unifying topic being deemed to be the issue of the ambiguous national identification of the protagonists, the detabooization of previously hushed-up subjects and the subject of the Holocaust, particularly in the family saga genre. It also takes into account groups of texts focusing on reflections of anti-German resistance activities, both in the genre of the novel (with detective elements) and in output on the boundaries between fiction and factographic prose.
Artykuł przedstawia zawarte we współczesnej czeskiej prozie odbicia traum związanych z II wojną światową i wydarzeniami powojennymi, uwzględniając problematykę Europy Środkowej, w której tradycyjnie dominuje konfrontacja czeskiego żywiołu z niemieckim. Autorka podsumowuje rozwój refleksji nad tematyką Niemców i Niemiec, II wojny światowej oraz następujacego po niej przesiedlenia w prozie nowego tysiąclecia, a jako zagadnienia wspólne wskazuje kwestie niejednoznacznej identyfikacji narodowej bohaterów literackich, detabuizację przemilczanych wcześniej tematów oraz Zagładę Żydów (szczególnie w odniesieniu do gatunku sagi rodzinnej). Zwraca uwagę także na utwory dotyczące antyniemieckiego ruchu oporu (książki z elementami powieści kryminalnej i z pogranicza literatury pięknej i literatury faktu).

Opis:
Wieżowiec i krajobraz naturalny powszechnie uważane są za trudne do połączenia. Propozycja wybudowania wieżowca w otwartym krajobrazie, w otoczeniu przyrody budzi zdecydowany sprzeciw. Już sam zamysł mógłby być przez wielu nie do zaakceptowania. Czy jednak kwestia wieżowca w krajobrazie innym niż miejski jest definitywnie zamknięta? Zjawisko wieżowca w krajobrazie naturalnym niegdyś już zaistniało. Lata 60. cechowały się dużą popularnością wysokiej zabudowy i dość swobodnym podejściem do wieżowca oraz wkroczeniem wieżowca na tereny otwarte. Przykłady lokalizacji wysokich budynków z tego okresu przedstawiono w artykule. Dziś zaobserwować można intensywny rozwój wysokiej zabudowy na świecie i kolejną falę zabudowy wysokościowej w Europie. Widzimy wznoszenie wieżowców w miastach, na ich peryferiach, a także powracający pomysł wieżowca w krajobrazie naturalnym. Celem pracy jest pokazanie, jakie są współczesne próby wprowadzenia wieżowca w krajobraz naturalny. Przeprowadzono studia przypadku dwóch projektów europejskich wieżowców w krajobrazie naturalnym – jednego w krajobrazie górskim, drugiego w płaskim. Przeanalizowano cechy architektoniczne, które wpływają na wizualną percepcję wieżowca, takie jak proporcje, skalę i formę budynku. Analizie poddano także relację obiektu z otoczeniem. Charakterystyczną cechą omówionych wieżowców jest bardzo duża wysokość – obydwa projekty przedstawiają budynki należące do najwyższych w Europie. Nowe wizje wieżowców to wysokie budynki charakteryzujące się prostym kształtem i smukłymi proporcjami, co w przestrzeni może mieć znaczenie dla ich wizualnego odbioru.
A skyscraper and a natural landscape are generally considered difficult to connect with each other. The proposal to build a skyscraper in an open landscape generally invites strong opposition. The idea alone would be unacceptable to many. However, has the issue of high-rise buildings in a landscape other than urban been finally resolved? The phenomenon of a high-rise building in the natural landscape has already appeared in the past. The 1960s were characterized by the high popularity of tall building developments and a fairly free approach to the high-rise building and its implementation into open areas. Examples of the location of high-rise buildings from that period are presented in the article. Today, we can observe the intensive development of tall buildings in the world and another wave of tall buildings in Europe. We see high-rises being constructed in cities, on their periphery, as well as the returning idea of a high-rise building in the natural landscape. The aim of the paper is to show what are contemporary attempts to introduce a skyscraper into a natural landscape. Case studies of two projects of European tall buildings in the natural landscape were carried out - one in the mountain landscape, the other in the flat area. Architectural features that affect the visual perception of a high-rise building, such as the proportions, scale and form of the building, were analyzed. The building’s relation to its surroundings was also analyzed. A characteristic feature of the above-mentioned skyscrapers is a great height - both projects represent the tallest buildings in Europe. New visions of skyscrapers are tall buildings characterized by a simple shape and slender proportions, which in space may be important for their visual perception.

Artykuł przedstawia ewolucję na przykładzie utworów Erwina Kruka Rondo, Kronika z Mazur i Spadek. Zapiski mazurskie 2007–2008 – przedstawia ewoluowanie postawy autobiograficznej pisarza, wyraźnie ujawniającej się po 1989 roku i wpisującej się w nurt tak zwanych ponownych autoprezentacji. Celem autorki jest też wskazanie zmian formalnych i artystycznych w sposobie wykorzystania tworzywa biograficznego.
This article is based – on a reading of Erwin Kruk’s Rondo, Kronika z Mazur, Spadek. Zapiski mazurskie 2007–2008 (Roundabout: A Masurian chronicle; Legacy. Masurian notes, 2007–2008). It explores the evolution of the writer’s autobiographical attitude, which became particularly clear after 1989 and it inscribed itself in the trend of “re-self-presentations”. Another aim of this study is to illustrate the formal and artistic changes in the way of using autobiographical materials.

Introduction. Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae have spread rapidly through the countries and continents to become a global concern. One of the main reservoirs of NDM-1 positive strains from the Enterobacteriaceae family is the Indian subcontinent (Bangladesh, Pakistan, India). Materials and method. During June 2017 – June 2018, rectal swab samples were collected routinely in all patients returning to Poland from South and South-East Asia. During molecular examinations gene blaNDM-1 encoding NDM-1 carbapenemase was detected. Results. 31 patients were examined after returning to Poland from a trip to South and South-East Asia. The presence of New Delhi Metallo-β-lactamase-1 producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae was confirmed in three patients (9.7%) returning to Poland from travels to India. All the positive patients were hospitalized during the trip in a New Delhi hospital. Conclusions. Digestive tract carriage of NDM in a group of Polish travelers is a significant health and epidemiological problem. The study confirms the necessity for screening for carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE), particularly among travellers. Rectal swabs should be collected in every case of patients returning from international trips, and the possibility of environment-associated infections should be emphasized.
