Opis:
Studying religion jointly with education allows one to produce more precise projections of the size and structure of religious communities. India’s religious groups are characterized by large differences in their education and fertility levels. Among those with secondary or more education, there tends to be low variation in fertility, while for those without any education, fertility is high and varies substantially. For India, if fertility differentials were constant and there was no increase in educational enrolment, the Indian population would grow from 846 million in 2000 to more than 2.3 billion in 2050, while the Hindu population would change from 80.2% to 76.4% and the proportion of Muslims would rise from 13.4% to 19%. If fertility converges and education levels increases, the population would increase to 1.7 billion by 2050, with 78.2% Hindus and 16.5% Muslims.

Opis:
The purpose of the research is to solve the paradox of religion integration in education, by the new balance between religion, philosophy and science, during the post communism transition. In the field of thinking, the process is the transition from ideology to integral thinking. It is realized through the re-evaluation of the topics of the integration of religion, transitology and integral though, education, inclusiveness, solidarity, new laicity and new secularity. In the philosophical sense, integration is the objective process of being developed. This is understood as a return to identity towards a universal being. In the context of the social being, the process realizes the opening and cooperative development of all mental, spiritual-religious, scientific, creative-artistic, economic, cultural, material and non-material political fields. It includes the individual, the community, and all institutions of social life. The path of integration development is the transitive movement in a spiral form. In Albania, with the fall of communism, freedom of religion was legalized according to the standards of European democracy. The rehabilitation of religious figures that had been condemned and persecuted by the totalitarian regime began. The post-communist transition brought profound changes in the field of faith and religion such as the new dimension in the relationship of society with religion, new and unfamiliar attitudes of believers to religion, new relations between the state and religious institutions, new relations between education and religion in public institutions, opening of religious schools and increasing the influence of religion through the media and religious literature. What is considered tolerance in Europe, in the Albanian case is respect. Albanians are the best model for religious tolerance (respect). There has never been a religious clash in Albania for any reason. Respect for the religious affiliation and religious belief of the other in the Albanian case is modeled as the guiding value of their identity and appears in everyday life as the acceptance of the other. For this reason, they are the best model of respect and acceptance of the other, regardless of religious affiliation. This is an ontological value, built over the centuries and continues to this day. Albanians have not converted, but have adapted to a religious belief for economic and survival reasons. Marriages with different religions and keeping two names (Christian and Muslim) are natural phenomena among Albanians. In Albania, there are in the family and tribe people with Christian and Muslim religions individuals with two names, Christian and Muslim: Kristo and Muhamed. Albanians have lived in peaceful symbiosis with the Slavs in the centuries of the latter’s influx into Albanian lands. They have also lived peacefully with other neighbors, Greeks or Romans. This is even though the neighbors have not always been peaceful with the Albanians.

Religious competence comprises hermeneutical and symbolic knowledge. It also forms the basis for cognitive approaches to religious participation e.g. in church services and liturgical procedures. Religious education classes ought to build up pupils’ religious competence, but there is also a need for authentic, sympathetic teachers who are willing to talk to their pupils and assist their development as religious subjects. Religious education is in two ways subject-oriented, towards man and God. It must not be confused with output-oriented learning processes. Religious education is about more than religious skills, and is based on a successful relationship between man and God as well as from person to person.

Opis:
A general theme of the text to discuss ideological mechanisms of non-representation of politicallylegitimized knowledge of underprivileged groups in the society, including women and religious orethnic minorities in school textbooks, particularly in the area of history. Analysis of dominant viewson the place of socially marginalized social groups in history textbook narratives and curricular objectivesseems to be more important than ever before. Relating to Michel Foucault’s concept of discoursesof truth, the aim of the text is to consider the dominant regime of truth in relation to national heroism, religion and a citizenship ideal. National heroism narratives in history textbooks are always placed isa broader context of building representations of a national identity and attempting to develop a unifiednotion of good citizenship. Both the nationhood and citizenship perspectives are sometimes symbolicallyrelated to the attempt of shaping emotional identification with a dominant religion.

Opis:
Contemporary culture – as already noted – is becoming more and more visual. Contemporary catechesis, referring to its rich, centuries-long experience, should also use different types of images. The first part of this article presents the visual principle as one of basic educating principles, and the second part presents the correlation between the teaching of Catholic religion, and art education in Polish schools. One specific example of using religious painting are in textbooks.Masterpieces of painting, created during centuries and expressing particular desires of their creators, still remain an important inspiration, among others, to the religious search. Faith, though strongly anchored in words, needs representations, specific references, which allow receiving, understanding, and experiencing it. Paintings give this possibility, and even – taking into consideration the contemporary civilization – impose the necessity to use them, in order to effectively reach the contemporary receiver.Using images in education is not only the achievement of specific objectives in catechesis, but also gives an opportunity to creatively engage students and shape their aesthetic sensibility. Working with the image creates the possibility of discovering the beauty, to see it in reality and “keeping the heart”, that is the enrichment of the beauty of one’s humanity.

Opis:
W prezentowanym artykule nakreślono szeroką wizję znaczenia religii w życiu współczesnej Europy. Na początku autor naszkicował sytuację prawną i społeczno-polityczną, w której należy rozpatrywać pozycję różnych religii i wyznań chrześcijańskich występujących w Finlandii.
Presented article outlines a broad vision of the importance of religion in the life of modern Europe. At the beginning, the author outlined the legal and socio-political context in which the position of different religion denominations and Christiany in Finland has to be considered. Then, the principles of organization of religion teaching in the Finnish education system were discussed. After that, a catalog of democratic values, which both religious communities and school religion teaching are obliged to apply, was presented, the Evangelical Lutheran Church being a particular reference point. The next subject of the author's reflection was the impact of religion on the attitude towards entrepreneurialism. The last part is devoted to reflection on the relationship between the religious situation in the European Union and the crisis – not just economic – in which the EU finds itself at present. According to the author, the religious peace is a necessary condition for the development of the united Europe and reducing the disparities that exist in it.

Opis:
Interest in human health has been growing in recent years and increasing attention has been devoted to public health. This has resulted in campaigns to benefit environmental hygiene, control contagious diseases, propagate the principles of personal hygiene and to organise medical services in order to diagnose, prevent and treat diseases of civilisation. Issues related to prevention and care for individuals and groups have come in for much attention. Moreover, a healthy lifestyle is promoted among children and adolescents. As a consequence, education on health and for health and education of issues sometimes regarded as identical to health and health-promoting education, is developing rapidly, both in theory and practice. This study analyses whether the implementation of the principles of education on health and for health in teaching religion is a necessity or just a fad. The paper briefly explains the term: “education on health and for health”. An assessment is made of the correlation between teaching religion and education on health and for health. The opportunities and threats of education on health and for health in teaching religion are also described.
