Szereg czasowy to uporządkowany zbiór obserwacji, którego dziedziną jest czas. Strukturę większości szeregów scharakteryzować można za pomocą dwóch podstawowych składników: trendu i składowej okresowej. Znajomość matematycznego modelu procesu opisanego szeregiem umożliwia generowanie na jego podstawie predykcji analizowanego zjawiska. Skoro celem analizy szeregów czasowych jest wskazanie istoty zjawisk nimi opisanych albo prognozowanie przyszłych ich wartości, autorzy proponują wykorzystać je w wycenie nieruchomości do analizy trendu zmiany cen w czasie oraz określenia wartości rynkowej nieruchomości.
Time series is an ordered set of observations whose domain is time. The structure of most series can be defined by two basic components: the trend and the seasonal component. The knowledge of a mathematical model of a process described by the series allows us to generate a prediction of the analyzed phenomenon on its basis. In view of the fact that the purpose of time series analysis is to identify the essence of the phenomena they describe, or to forecast their future value, the authors therefore propose to use them in the valuation of real estate to analyze a trend of price changes in time and to determine their market value.

Robotics and its applications have become increasingly important in the field of manufacturing industry. Robot manipulators are effectively used for this purpose. Control of manipulators is very important, however, highly nonlinear and multi-input multi-output (MIMO) complex structure of manipulators make the control difficult. This paper presents two-degree of freedom PID controller scheme for a six-degree of freedom rigid robotic manipulator. Traditional PID controllers are widely used due to their simple control structure and ease of implementation in industry. However load disturbances and parametric variation affect the robustness of the controller. The performance of proposed two-degree of freedom PID controller is compared with the traditional PID controllers. Matlab-Simulink program is used for real-time implementation of the proposed method. Experimental results show that two-degree of freedom PID control is better than the traditional PID for manipulator control in real time.

Vision based robot applications have taken a great deal of attention, with the development of electronic and computer technology. The visual feedback loop is very effective for improving the dexterity and flexibility. In this study, application of real time visual servoing approach is presented that enables a robot to robustly execute arm grasping and manipulation tasks. This task is decomposed on four stages a) finding object b) determining object's pose c) moving the robotic arm from an initial position towards the object d) grasping the object. The robot used in this work consists of an arm and head parts. The robotic arm has six degree of freedom, five degree of freedom are located at the arm while one degree of freedom is assigned to the gripper. Head has two degree of fredom which is pan-tilt platform. The image-based control strategy is designed using Fuzzy-PID controller. In this way, position error between target object and griper is minimized and the gripper can grasp the target object precisely. Real-time implementation of the proposed method is carried out using Matlab-Simulink. Experimental results show that, the developed design is valid to detect and grasp objects in real time.

This study explores the successful implementation of activities aimed at scaling traceability for COVID-19 and routine immunization (RI) vaccines to the local government area and selected healthcare facilities in Nigeria, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The study was executed by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and sought to enhance supply chain systems by deploying advanced traceability mechanisms and ensuring real-time stock visibility. The article discusses the accomplishments, challenges, and regulatory framework of NAFDAC, emphasizing GS1 technology-driven traceability, and presents the results of the field scanning activities conducted in July 2023. The approach involved a phased public sector pilot, showcasing the feasibility and challenges of tracking vaccine movement through the supply chain. The result shows the detection of 43 unique products across 1022 facilities from a total of 110,113 scans, offering valuable insights into vaccine distributions. The strategic goals of the project aligned with developing safety surveillance systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) to facilitate patient access to global health products. Similarly, significant improvement in traceability through automated data capture (barcode scanning) and expanded coverage for COVID-19 and selected RI vaccines in Nigeria was found. Against this background, the information derived from this report will build confidence in patients regarding vaccine authenticity, establish a transparent and robust supply chain, and foster pharmacovigilance capability through integration with the track-and-trace systems. Thus, the study provides invaluable insights and opportunities for global health practitioners, policymakers, and researchers to incorporate track-and-trace into regulatory systems by other national regulatory authorities.

Opis:
Application of fully automated systems for truck dispatching plays a major role in decreasing the transportation costs which often represent the majority of costs spent on open pit mining. Consequently, the application of a truck dispatching system has become fundamentally important in most of the world’s open pit mines. Recent experiences indicate that by decreasing a truck’s travelling time and the associated waiting time of its associated shovel then due to the application of a truck dispatching system the rate of production will be considerably improved. Computer-based truck dispatching systems using algorithms, advanced and accurate software are examples of these innovations. Developing an algorithm of a computer-based program appropriated to a specific mine’s conditions is considered as one of the most important activities in connection with computer-based dispatching in open pit mines. In this paper the changing trend of programming and dispatching control algorithms and automation conditions will be discussed. Furthermore, since the transportation fleet of most mines use trucks with different capacities, innovative methods, operational optimisation techniques and the best possible methods for developing the required algorithm for real-time dispatching are selected by conducting research on mathematical-based planning methods. Finally, a real-time dispatching model compatible with the requirement of trucks with different capacities is developed by using two techniques of flow networks and integer programming.
Zastosowanie w pełni zautomatyzowanych systemów dysponowania przewozami ciężarówek w poważny sposób przyczynia się do zmniejszenia kosztów transportu, które częstokroć mają poważny udział w kosztach funkcjonowania kopalni odkrywkowych. Dlatego też zastosowanie systemu dysponowania transportem ma kluczowe znaczenie w kopalniach odkrywkowych na świecie. Niedawne doświadczenia wskazują, że poprzez zmniejszenie czasu przejazdu ciężarówek oraz zmniejszenie czasu oczekiwania dzięki zastosowaniu systemu dysponowania przewozami możliwe jest znaczne podniesienie poziomu produkcji. Wspomagany komputerowo system dysponowania przewozami wykorzystujący odpowiednie algorytmy a także zaawansowane oprogramowanie stanowią przykłady nowoczesnych rozwiązań w tej dziedzinie. Opracowanie algorytmu komputerowego dostosowanego do konkretnych warunków panujących w danej kopalni odkrywkowej jest jedną z kluczowych czynności dla uruchomienia komputerowego systemu dysponowania przewozami ciężarówek w kopalni. W artykule przedstawiono zmieniające się trendy w zakresie programowania, algorytmów sterowania przewozami i automatyzacji. Ponadto, ponieważ większość kopalni odkrywkowych wykorzystuje ciężarówki o różnej ładowności, wybrano najlepsze i najnowocześniejsze metody i techniki optymalizacji oraz najskuteczniejsze metody opracowywania algorytmów wspomagających systemy dysponowania przejazdami ciężarówek w czasie rzeczywistym, wybrano je w oparciu o metody planowania wykorzystujące aparat matematyczny. W części końcowej zaprezentowano model dysponowania przewozami w czasie rzeczywistym kompatybilny z wymogiem zastosowania ciężarówek o różnej ładowności, opracowany w oparciu o metody sieci przepływowych i programowania binarnego.

Ridesharing is a mobility concept in which a trip is shared by a vehicle’s driver and one or more passengers called riders. Ridesharing is considered as a more environmentally friendly alternative to single driver commutes in pollution-creating vehicles on overcrowded streets. In this paper, we present the core of a new strategy of the ridesharing system, making it more flexible and competitive than the recurring system. More precisely, we allow the driver and the rider to meet each other at an intermediate starting location and to separate at another intermediate ending location not necessarily their origins and destinations, respectively. This allows to reduce both the driver’s detour and the total travel cost. The term “A priori approach” means that the driver sets the sharing cost rate on the common path with rider in advance. An exact and heuristic approaches to identify meeting locations, while minimizing the total travel cost of both driver and rider are proposed. Finally, we analyze their empirical performance on a set of real road networks consisting of up to 3,5 million nodes and 8,7 million edges. Our experimental results show that our heuristics provide efficient performances within short CPU times and improves the recurring ridesharing approach in terms of cost-savings.

More than half of the incidents reported to EMSA relate to nautical events such as collision, groundings and contacts. Knowledge of accurate and high-integrity positioning is therefore not only a need for future automated shipping but a base for today’s safe navigation. Examples on accidents include Ever Given in the Suez Canal and HNoMS Helge Ingstad in Norway. A Network-RTK (NRTK) service can be used as an augmentation technique to improve performance of shipborne GNSS receivers for future positioning of manned and unmanned vessels in restricted areas, such as port areas, fairways, and inland water ways. NRTK service providers generate RTK corrections based on the observations of networks of GNSS reference stations which enables the users to determine their position with centimeter accuracy in real-time using a shipborne GNSS receiver. Selection of appropriate communication channels for dissemination of NRTK corrections data is the key to a secure positioning (localization) service. In PrePare-Ships project, the modern maritime communication system VDES (VHF Data Exchange System) is proposed to distribute SWEPOS (NRTK in Sweden) correction data to shipborne positioning modules. VDES is a very reliable technique and it is compatible with most onboard functionalities. In order to minimize the impact on the overall VDES data capacity in a local area, NRTK correction data shall only occupy a single VDES slot with a net capacity of 650 bytes. Update rates may vary but are preferably at 1Hz. However, NRTK correction data size changes instantly, depending on the number of visible GNSS satellites, and the data rate can therefore sometimes reach in excess of 1000 byte/s. In this study, a smart technique is proposed to reduce size of NRTK correction data to instantly adapt with the VDES requirements by choosing a combination of specific signals, satellites or even constellations such that the data rate is not more than 650 byte/s, and at the same time it achieves optimal positioning performance with the accuracy required by the PrePare-Ships project application.

In the last decade, the oil industry has transitioned from primarily drilling vertical wells to a majority of extended reach complex horizontal wells with help of geosteering techniques for better reservoir and production efficiencies. The overall objective of geosteering and well placement has helped to maximize reservoir contact by the keeping well trajectory in the pay zone with the help of quality real-time data, especially in these uncertain times of pandemic due to COVID-19. This paper illustrates the immense impact of real-time data feeds (special logging tools/images) at operation centers with the full remote expert support of multidisciplinary teams. The proper data communication mechanism is also helpful to share the information across asset teams in a timely manner to drill complex wells remotely. To achieve the desired geosteering objectives, experts monitor and evaluate the real-time data in a landing well accurately in the pay horizon by designing the well path which considers geological variables like (reservoir architecture, permeability and porosity distribution, and fluid contacts) which further helps update the reservoir models in real-time based on the latest subsurface information for better reservoir management and timely decision making.

The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of feed supplements with alfa-amylase and beta-glucanase (Optipartum C+ 200) on ingestive-related behaviour biomarkers registered with real-time sensors: rumination behaviours and reticulorumen parameters (pH and temperature). Cows (n=20) in the treatment group (TG) were fed with Optipartum C+ 200 (Enzymes feed supplement: Alfa-Amylase 57 Units; Beta-Glucanase 107 Units) from 21 days before calving until 30 days after calving with a feeding rate of 200 g/cow/day. Cows (n=22) in the control group (CG) were fed a feed ration without feed supplement. Measurements started from 6 days before calving and continued until 21 days after calving. The following indicators were registered: with the RumiWatch System: Rumination time; Eating time; Drinking time; Rumination chews; Eating chews; Drinking gulps; Bolus; Chews per minute; Chews per bolus. With the SmaXtec system: the temperature, pH of the contents of the cows’ reticulorumens, and cows’ walking activity. According to our results, feed supplementation with alfa-amylase and beta-glucanase (Optipartum C+ 200) in the TG group resulted in increases in the following parameters: 9% rumination time and eating time, 19% drinking time, 11% rumination chews, 16% eating chews, 13% number of boluses per rumination, 5% chews per minute and 16% chews per bolus. The rumination time showed a strong, positive relation with rumination chews and bolus indicators in both groups (TG and CG) (p<0.001); while the rumination time in both groups of cows showed an opposite direction and was negatively related to eating time and eating chews (p<0.05). We found a 1.28 % lower reticulorumen pH and a 0.64 % lower reticulorumen temperature in cows fed with the supplement compared with cows in the control group. Cows in TG were 8.80% more active than those in the CG group. For improvement of ingestive-related behaviour we suggest adding a feed supplement with alfa-amylase and beta-glucanase (Optipartum C+ 200).

Wiele współczesnych systemów nadzoru, monitorowania otoczenia czy diagnostyki procesów przemysłowych korzysta z optycznej kontroli powiązanej z akwizycją obrazów pochodzących z różnych źródeł. W artykule przedstawiono sposób implementacji w układzie FPGA przykładowego systemu diagnostycznego opartego na algorytmie fuzji obrazów metodą piramidy Laplace'a. System korzysta z dwóch kamer obserwujących ten sam obiekt (kamery termowizyjnej i kamery światła widzialnego) i działa w czasie rzeczywistym.
Many supervisory, monitoring and diagnostics systems need to acquire and analyze multisensor visual information, for example two video sequences from TV and thermal (IR) camera. Thus, an image fusion algorithm [1-6] is necessary if we want to have one common image containing details of both input images. The paper presents a hardware implementation of the Laplacian pyramid algorithm ([1, 7], Fig. 1-3) for image fusion. Prior image registration is necessary, which is presented by the authors in other paper [8]. The Laplacian pyramid algorithm generates stable video sequences, without flickering or glow, and enables real-time implementation, necessary for supervisory and similar systems. Some results of testing of the algorithm are presented (Fig. 4, 5). The system has been realized on a chip making use of a single Altera Cyclone III FPGA (Fig. 6), with a 3-levels Laplacian pyramid module (Fig. 7, 8). The image fusion process execution time is below 10 ms, with a clock speed of 150 MHz. The presented system allows for quick reconfiguration and stands out from similar solutions [6, 11] with very good economical factors (Tab. 1). This enables realization of additional algorithms simply by adjoining new components to the Avalon bus.

The physician specifications for gait cycles are translated into robotic trajectories whose tracking is performed twofold depending on the availability of a model: (1) if obtained via the Euler-Lagrange approach along with identification of unknown plant parameters, a new computed-torque control law is proposed; it takes into account the parallel-robot characteristics; (2) if not available, a variation of the active disturbance rejection control technique whose parameters need to be tuned, is employed. A detailed discussion on the advantages and disadvantages of the model-based and model-free results, from the continuous-time simulation to the discrete-time implementation, is included.

Opis:
In this paper, an algorithm that monitors the power system to detect and classify power quality events in real time is presented. The algorithm is able to detect events caused by waveform distortions and variations of the RMS values of the voltage. Detection of the RMS events is done by comparing the RMS values with certain thresholds, while detection of waveform distortions is made using an algorithm based on multiharmonic leasts-squares fitting.

Personal positioning is facing a huge challenge to maintain a reliable accuracy through all applications. Although in outdoor applications, several mobile navigation devices can provide acceptable positioning accuracy, the situation in indoor environment is not the same. Mobile navigation devices mainly contain a global positioning system (GPS) receiver and an inertial measurement unit (IMU). The main drawback in indoor navigation applications is the unavailability of the GNSS signals, which decreases the possibility of obtaining an accurate absolute position solution, as the inertial system (INS) solution will drift with time in the absence of external updates. Several alternatives were presented lately to update the inertial solution such as using Wi-Fi, UWB, RFID, several self-contained sensors, imaging aiding and spatial information aiding. In order to achieve accurate position solution, with low-cost and usable technique, an integrated mobile navigation system integrating GPS/IMU/Wi-Fi and map-matching was developed. The developed system uses the prior knowledge of the indoor geometrical and topological information, as a threshold for the navigation solution, forcing the provided solution to be mostly on the right track. The geometrical and topological information for the building was used to build the geospatial data model. The use of this model was performed by developing a map matching algorithm which uses the geometrical and topological characteristics of the building to locate the user position on the building map. This algorithm was developed based on the geospatial information of the Engineering building, University of Calgary, where the field test occurred. The map-matching algorithm was evaluated by processing and comparing two separate navigation solutions through the study area, one using only the GPS/IMU/Wi-Fi system, and second solution was assisted with the map-matching algorithm which shows significant enhancement in the position solution for the indoor trajectory.
