Opis:
Scanning technology has been becoming more common then ever. Scanning offers new and effective possibilities of measurement. Nowadays planning, production and assembling without high accurate metrology is impossible. Measurement of small, curved elements became much easier with great development of mechanical components of measure machines, such as: guideways, transducers, bearings, servomechanisms. All this improvement made possible to collect with good accuracy points in high density. Algorithms, and computer software were greatly improved as well. Especially, many efforts were put on probe radius correction algorithms development. In this paper a review and a comparison of probe radius correction methods are shown.

The paper presents the problem of assessing the accuracy of reconstructing free-form surfaces in the CMM/CAD/CAM/CNC systems. The system structure comprises a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) PMM 12106 equipped with a contact scanning probe, a 3-axis Arrow 500 Vertical Machining Center, QUINDOS software and Catia software. For the purpose of surface digitalization, a radius correction algorithm was developed. The surface reconstructing errors for the presented system were assessed and analysed with respect to offset points. The accuracy assessment exhibit error values in the reconstruction of a free-form surface in a range of ± 0.02 mm, which, as it is shown by the analysis, result from a systematic error.

W artykule przedstawiono porównanie wyników pomiarów współrzędnościowych pióra łopatki turbiny, które uzyskano z użyciem trzech metod korekcji promieniowej. Analizę dokładności wykonania pióra łopatki przeprowadzono za pomocą programu pomiarowego Blade Pro. Pomiary współrzędnościowe pióra łopatki wykonano z użyciem współrzędnościowej maszyny pomiarowej ACCURA II, wyposażonej w głowicę pomiarową VAST XXT oraz oprogramowanie pomiarowe Calypso. Pierwsza metoda korekcji promieniowej była realizowana w oprogramowaniu Blade Pro. Druga i trzecia metody obliczania współrzędnych skorygowanych punktów pomiarowych bazowały na krzywych Bézier’a drugiego oraz czwartego stopnia.
This paper presents the comparison of results of coordinate measurements concerning a turbine blade which were obtained using three methods of radius correction. Analysis of the manufacturing accuracy was made using the measurement program Blade Pro. The coordinate measurements of the turbine blade were made by applying a coordinate measuring machine ACCURA II, equipped with the measuring head VAST XXT and the measurement software Calypso. The first applied method for radius correction was the one already implemented in the software Blade Pro. The second and third methods for computing coordinates of the corrected measurement points were based on the second- and fourth-degree Bézier curves, respectively. These methods are developed for application in the case of coordinate measurements of free-form surfaces with relatively big magnitudes of curvature. The examples of such a kind of surfaces are leading and trailing edges of a turbine blade. Therefore, experimental and numerical investiga-tions were verified on a real turbine blade and its 3D CAD model which represented the nominal data. The performed investigations show that the maximum dispersion of the measurement results takes place in the areas of the leading and trailing edges of the examined turbine blade. Selection of the proper radius correction method should always be considered in the measurement strategy using CMM.

Opis:
Geometrical accuracy of workpieces manufactured in CNC technology is dependent on many different factors, such as the parameters of a cutting process. The most significant are: cutting velocity vc and feed rate vf but also proper cooling and appropriate rigidity of a machine tool. Values of these parameters are dependant on the kind of a workpiece and on the applied tools. Considering shape complexity of a workpiece, dimensional and shape errors can appear, for example deviations of flatness, rectilinearity and radius roundness, etc. To avoid errors connected with geometrical profile, the parameters of machining should be selected in such way to obtain maximal value of quality rating of a product considering its shape and dimension. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the correction of feed rate (vf ) influence on radius errors of a workpiece's corners and to define the relation between technological conditions of cutting process and the actual shape of radius after machining. In theoretical part, the influence of different factors on the accuracy of cutting on CNC machine was included; the main focus was on the accuracy of cuttings the corners with different radii. The practical part consists of corner's radius errors measurements with the usage of coordinate measuring machine and complex analysis of research findings. The findings were presented in the form of diagrams and charts. Because of the fact that the feed rate influences the global time of workpieces' machining, the findings presented in this paper enable the production engineers to choose the optimal value of feed rate during the cutting of corners on CNC machines. It is very important during machining of matrices which construction consists of many corners with given radii that are placed between perpendicular and slant walls.
