Opis:
After 200 years of bondage, India gained freedom from the British through numerous revolutionary movements in 1947. But, within 20 years of the independence, insurgent movements had started arising against the Indian Government as well. In 1967, the Naxalite insurgency was initiated as a radical protest by the oppressed peasants against the colonial tenancy system retained by the feudal landowners even after the British had left the country for good. The uprising got pinpointed as Naxalism and the rebels as Naxals, as it all started at Naxalbari, a village in the Indian state of West Bengal. Spanning over 50 years, this ongoing movement initially acquired the respect of the general population of India with its radical ideologies of fighting against the oppressor imperialists but soon mutated into a source of terror. A qualitative assessment of the instances taken from secondary sources, such as context-related online journals and blog articles, will help this paper to explain the formation of the contemporary perception of Naxalism as an extreme radical armed revolution and one of the biggest security challenges against the Indian Government.

Opis:

Opis:
This article presents the radical wing of sabbataism (sabbatianism) – the messianic-mystical movement of heterodox Judaism which arose in the 17th century and flourished in the Ottoman Empire, founded by Sabbatai Zevi. This is done according to the works of Gershom Scholem and from the point of view of the ethical principles in their dimension directed to sexual life which the sabbataistic extremists, mainly from the Dönmeh group, had chosen as binding and obligatory ones. The distinctive feature of these directives compared to conventionally dominant ones was their “upturned” character. Therefore, the article will discuss the antinomism of which – as a tendency being opposed to the normative comprehension of the rules, established here by the Jewish law (nomos) on the basis of the Torah – the radical ma’aminim are an exemplification. Nevertheless, this sabbataistic reversal in the formulation of the issues concerning carnality reveals the profound doctrinal base in the form of the kabbalistic writings and on their pages introduced mystical conceptual categories (taken up in the present article) – the groundwork from which is determined by the dichotomy Torah de-’Atzilut–Torah de-Beri’ah – and to which the sabbataists attributed the peculiar “upturned” modus of interpretation.

This paper examines the history, worldview, and legal problems of MISA, the Movement for Spiritual Integra-tion into the Absolute (MISA), founded by Romanian yoga teacher Gregorian Bivolaru, as a form of radical aesthetics. In the first part, we summarize the development and doctrines of MISA. In the second, we present the legal controversies that accompanied the movement’s history. In the third, we introduce five theoretical toolsderived from the contemporary sociology of aesthetics. In the fourth, we use these tools to interpret MISA’s worldview and societal reactions to it.

Opis:
One of the important issues discussed in discourse texts of the radical Orthodox Church movement in Russia is the area of man’s sexual life, including the issue of homosexuality. In the studied texts, resources of nominations referring to sexual orientation and homosexual people are relatively small. The group of lexemes referring to homosexuality, mainly male, most numerously represented in the studied material and most diversified grammatically is the word-formation nest of words motivated by the proper noun Sodom (Содом). The elements of the word-formation nest with the stem содом- are usually used in the text because, due to their significantly axiological character, they make unnecessary the use of other strongly axiological units belonging already to lower stylistic registers. It is also not surprising that in the conservative and Orthodox Church circles the units of biblical origin prevail, and the richness of their forms definitely confirms their current importance in the studied discourse.

Opis:
The 'Gallery movement', which formed in Poland in the 70s is a world phenomenon that provides extremely rich material, in terms of diversity, as well as in quantitative terms. The galleries were created under the dominant influence of conceptual art, that is why I describe them as 'conceptual galleries'. They played the traditional role of a gallery, that is, they were places of exhibition and they functioned as an 'art container', but at the same time, they were art projects created according to the individual decision of the artist, just like the works of art. They were therefore a form of conceptual art, developed in the 70s, the conceptual art decade. One of the most radical galleries at that time was the 80x140 Gallery, founded by Jerzy Trelinski, in spring 1971 in Lodz. The Gallery operated until 1977. Initially, the gallery space was a wall surface of dimensions given in the name of the gallery (80 x 140 cm). But soon the work presented in the gallery began to develop directly into the space of the room, turning it into an installation space. Then artworks began to be realized around the city and numerous projects by J. Trelinski, as well as collaborative projects, began to be created in various locations outside Lodz, all under the facade of Gallery 80x140. In May 1972, at the 80x140 Gallery, the A4 Gallery began its activity, which was an initiative of Andrzej Pierzgalski. It was perhaps an even more radical art project in the category of 'conceptual galleries', and it was limited to a plain sheet of A4 size paper (literally, a piece of A4 paper was placed within the 80x140 Gallery). This article also announces broader research on issues arising from the 'gallery movement' and the category of 'conceptual galleries' in Polish art of the 70s. The 'gallery movement' also had a social and political dimension. Thus a network of the independent exchange of ideas was created, and it functioned well on an international scale. The patterns of self-organising initiated by the artists' community and the art procedures that were developed in the 70s on the basis of conceptual art, proved extremely useful in the 80s. Also during the economic crisis and transformation of the 90s, the model of a 'conceptual gallery' enabled the artistic community to function, despite limitations of an economic nature. This article describes the methodology of research on the 'conceptual galleries' phenomenon. It contains a detailed description of works that were created in the Gallery 80x140 and Gallery A4 (and under their auspices) throughout the time of their operation. It also presents the consequences that the initiators of these galleries have drawn from them later in their artistic practice; particularly a series of works titled Autotautologies by J. Trelinski, (the artist puts a graphic sign TRELINSKI on various objects and in various places and situations), as well as further artistic development of A. Pierzgalski.

Opis:
With the populist tide on the rise, comparisons of contemporary right-wing governments to fascist regimes are increasingly common. The rise of the populist right-wing politics has created a number of reactions, using either new or established forms of political resistance. One of such examples is the anti-fascist movement whose strength grows in many national contexts. The recently observed political swing to the right results also in a radicalization of politics. Radical actors intersect and cooperate with moderate ones, influence one another and bring new ideas and repertoires of contention to the streets and into mainstream politics. This trend can be observed in Poland where the 2015 elections (presidential and parliamentary) resulted in the radicalization of the mainstream discourse. This article focuses on the case study of the broadly understood anti-racist movement in Poland that has recently had to remodel itself to face new challenges – in particular the institutionalization of xenophobic rhetoric and the growth of the far-right sector – and has undergone substantial changes in general. The article presents the internal radical- moderate dynamics within the specific context of the anti-fascist movement in Poland. In particular, it explores the role of changes in political opportunity structures for the reinvigoration of the anti-fascist movement in Poland, radicalization in some of its sectors, and change in its priorities and focus.

Opis:
National upbringing is concentrated around 20th century national concepts and often adopts radical approaches. Nationalism, which in its essence is an ideological movement, today is perceived in a very negative way: by putting people at its forefront, it emphasizes their autonomy. Polish nationalism is grounded in religion, more specifically, in Christianity with its traditionalist foundation. Today, Polish nationalism, as a national movement, balances between the national and the radical. One of its most established national formations is the National Rebirth of Poland, which presents its views, including national upbringing, in the journal "Szczerbiec". Its postulates are based on the Third Way theory. In this paper, I focus on the 20th century concepts of national education and the reception of those concepts in the contemporary national movement. My main aim is to present contemporary views about the formation of national education which does not identify itself with notions such as racism, anti-Semitism or ethnical, racial or national hatred. I also present nationalism as an idea, an ideology aimed at unification, preservation of tradition and the development of an individual, rather than the pursuit of alienation and the reinforcement of antagonistic attitudes leading to hatred. Nationalism traditionally carries a negative connotation associated with Nazi and fascist ideologies. However, nowadays it adopts a very different attitude: it advocates social movement and cultural exchange of experience, and thusis now called by some the "last bastion of hope". Therefore, it becomes necessary to cast new positive light on nationalism and its aspirations, and refrain from perceiving it as a destructive movement.
