This paper describes methods to extract nominal values of propagation quantities for thin-film, straight interconnect elements. The propagation quantities like effective dielectric permittivity ɛeff, attenuation α, characteristic impedance Zo are calculated with the use of analytical and approximated formulas. These expressions are obtained by transforming and by fitting formulas, typically used for calculation of per unit length transmission line parameters. Methods are verified for typical thin-film interconnect elements dimensions and for typical materials used in the Photonics Integrated Circuits (PIC). The novelty of the study is the parametrization with respect to the geometrical dimensions. The parametrization is based on the approximation expressions in the form of rational polynomials obtained by fitting.

In this paper, we study an inventory system for two substitutable deteriorating items where when an item is out of stock, the demand for it is met by the other item and any part of demand not met due to unavailability of the other item is lost. The level of inventory of both items deplete due to combined effect of demand fulfilment and deterioration. The rates of demand and deterioration are assumed to be deterministic and constant. Items are ordered jointly in each ordering cycle so as to take advantage of joint replenishment. The problem is formulated and a solution procedure is developed to determine the optimal ordering quantities that minimize the total inventory cost. An extensive numerical analysis is carried out to illustrate the parameters of the model. The results indicate that there is substantial improvement in the optimal total cost of the inventory system with substitution over the case without substitution.

Opis:
A bill of quantities (BOQ) is an important link in the cost estimation process and construction work planning. The correctness of determining the amount of work in a bill of quantities affects the accuracy of costing of construction works in budget estimates, as well as the quality of work implementation schedules. In the paper the authors point out some problems related to the issue of performing a bill of quantities in Poland. They refer to the applicable ways of taking off under the applicable legal framework and in the light of environmental methods. They draw attention to possible taking off methods. The paper also raises problems of inconsistency of definitions, discrepancies in the available principles of a bill of quantities, including temporary and accompanying works while performing BOQs.

Basing on the analytical mechanics methods, the Lagrangian equations of thin elastic rod is constructed. The definition of conformal invariance for the Lagrange mechanics of elastic rod is given. The criterions that conformal invariance of elastic rod is the Lie symmetry are obtained based on the Lie point transformation group. The structure equation and conserved quantity deduced from conformal invariance of elastic rod are constructed. Take twist rod as an example to illustrate the application of the results got in this paper.

In this paper, the Lie symmetry theory of discrete singular systems is studied in phase space. Firstly, the discrete canonical equations and the energy evolution equations of the constrained Hamilton systems are established based on the discrete difference variational principle. Secondly, the Lie point transformation of discrete group is applied to the difference equations and constraint restriction, and the Lie symmetry determination equations of the discrete constrained Hamilton systems are obtained; Meanwhile, the Lie symmetries of singular systems lead to the discrete Noehter type conserved quantities when the structure condition equations (discrete Noether identity) are established. Finally,an example is given to illustrate the application, the results show that the conservative constrained Hamilton systems also have the discrete energy conservation.

The work is concerned with a physical model of the electrospark alloying process. It discusses the complexity of measurement of electrical quantities describing an electrospark discharge. The aim of the investigation is to determine the relationship between pulse energy and the amount of a deposit constituting a coating.
W opracowaniu na tle modelu fizycznego procesu stopowania elektroiskrowego przedstawiono złożoność problemów pomiarowych wielkości elektrycznych opisujących wyładowanie elektroiskrowe. Celem tych badań jest w dalszej perspektywie określenie relacji pomiędzy energią impulsu a masą materiału tworzącą powłokę.

Several operational quantities have appeared in the literature characterizing upper semi-Fredholm operators. Here we show that these quantities can be divided into three classes, in such a way that two of them are equivalent if they belong to the same class, and are comparable and not equivalent if they belong to different classes. Moreover, we give a similar classification for operational quantities characterizing lower semi-Fredholm operators.

Opis:
One of the ways to ensure safe predictable and efficient operation of electrical devices is to develop a system to supervise and control the electrical installation, where the devices are installed. A structure of such a supervisory control system for a building installation can be of diversified in order to meet expectations and needs of the building owner. Various measuring devices of various manufacturers can be used as a data source with programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) in that number. They make possible to develop flexible intelligent installations that fit operational characteristics of the building structure, where they are developed and devices that operate there. The paper presents a system to supervise operation of an electrical installation that has been implemented in practice. The system takes advantage of operational and IT characteristics of PLC's and presents a research task, which means that it can evolve along with adding new elements to it.
