To develop a protein rich sorghum weaning food in a country with high poverty rate, the effects of adding soybeans and tiger-nut, two different ratios was formulated, R1 and R2. R1 was formulated in the ratio 5:3:2 (comprising of 50% sorghum, 30% soybean and 20% tiger nut flours) while R2 was formulated in the ratios 4:4:2 (40% sorghum, 40% soybeans and 20% tiger nut flours), respectively. Two fermentation processes was done for the ratios, starter (single) base fermentation ratios (SBFR) and spontaneous fermentation ratios (SPFR). Microbial analysis (total bacteria, yeast count, lactic acid bacteria count and enteric bacteria counts) were done after every 6 hrs of fermentation. The highest total bacterial count obtained was (4.4×105) in SPFR2 while the lowest count was 2.4×102 in SBFR1. Lactic acid bacteria range from 6.2×105 to 1.0×103. The highest enteric bacteria count was observed in SPFR1 (9.0×104) while highest yeast count (1.3×105) was observed in SPFR2. No growths were recorded for yeast and enteric bacteria after 12 to 24 hrs of fermentation for the starter based products. The results showed that the overall nutritional quality of sample SBFR1 was superior than sample SBFR2. Sample SBFR1 and had the higher total energy, protein content and reasonable amount of carbohydrates. The fermentation improves the nutritional qualities of locally produced sorghum weaning foods. Fortification of these foods with soybeans and tiger nut can be an added advantage as this may likely be a remedy to solving the menace of protein energy mal-nutrition in the developing countries and it was also confirmed that lactic acid bacteria used as starter, control the growth of yeast and enteric bacteria there by increasing the safety and shelf life of the product.

This paper presents an attempt to applying neural networks for assessment of parameters of standard manoeuvrability tests, i.e. circulation test and zig-zag test. Methodological approach to application of neural networks as well as applied network structures and neuron activation functions are generally presented. Also, results of simulations performed by means of the elaborated networks are given in comparison with test cases selected at random. In order to analyze and reveal general trends, correlation relationships between results from network simulations and test cases were calculated and are presented as well.

Postać kapłana i jego posługa są zawsze wezwane do „przedefiniowania się”, przekształcenia i niejako „nawrócenia”, zgodnie z duchowym i teologicznym rozwojem Kościoła, uwzględniając znaki czasu obecne w konkretnym życiu Ludu Bożego. Niniejszy artykuł jest próbą uchwycenia najważniejszych cech kapłana podkreślanych przez papieża Franciszka, które wydają się istotne w nowej erze intensywnych przemian.
Pope Francis has spoken many times about the priesthood and his vision of the priest in the new millennium. The essence of the priesthood does not change, but the style, the manner of holding office and the methods of conduct must change according to the new circumstances of life. The figure of the priest and his ministry are always called to "redefine themselves", to be transformed and in some way "converted", according to the spiritual and theological development of the Church, and taking into account the signs of the times present in the concrete life of the People of God. This article is an attempt to capture the most important features of the priest emphasized by Pope Francis, which seem important in the new era of intense changes.

This paper is based on the results of an experiment aimed at studying attention distribution and switching among students using a stationary eye-tracking device. The hypothesis was that the operator’s distraction tolerance should be influence by his or her general mental strength; temperament, which is a derivative of the characteristics of the nervous system; and the level of intelligence, as a general indicato of the state of the nervous system. In addition, the paper discusses the results of psychological assessment, which are not directly related to the issue of distraction tolerance but indirectly affect it. These results are compared with characteristics that directly affect distraction tolerance.

The aim of the following paper is to analyse vocabulary that denominates human qualities in terms of physical, mental, characterological features as well as in terms of interests, passions and attitude towards another person. Animated cartoons broadcasted between July 2011 and December 2012 on the channel Teletoon+ were the source material for the research. During the excerption of lexical items only those which denominate human qualities (the items were nouns, verbs and adjectives) were taken into account. Variety of names which denominate human qualities shows that the authors of dialogue scripts very often use names which are known to older youth and adults. Therefore, the meaning of most of them is not understood by younger viewers. Moreover, the lexis is most often offensive and stigmatizing other people, full of invectives, pejorative phrases which are very often radical and rude. Thus it is not adjusted to the age and language competence of the youngest viewers.

This paper discusses the sound-imitating qualities of Julian Tuwim’s Lokomotywa (Locomotive), one of the most famous Polish poems for children. The focus, however, is not so much on the instrumentational potential of the text (which was described multiple times before) as on its use in the acting interpretation by Piotr Fronczewski. Selected prosodic features, such as in particular: speech rate, rhythm, pitch, and – to a lesser extent – sound intensity, are examined from the perspective of the iconic functions of language, i.e. as a way of reflecting the content and emotional feeling of the text. The research was conducted using the Praat program, which includes tools for acoustic analysis of sound.

In 2013, the Swedish government introduced a career reform for teachers (SFS 2013, p. 70) that established two new career-track positions, namely, lead teachers and senior subject teachers. This study analyses the process of integrating this career reform into the Swedish school system in its early stage and focuses on lead teachers’ professional development and learning when trying to interpret and translate this new career position in their daily working life. The study explored teacher´s ideas, strategies and actions to govern themselves in relation to the demands for research and proven experience within the career reform, as well as their underlying views of career. For the empirical data collection, we interviewed twelve lead teachers. The analysis of the data generated four different governmentalities that these teachers used to govern themselves when trying to handle the career reform in their practices: the school developer, the process manager, the subject specialist and the involuntary careerist. Teachers relate their rationalities to different career discourses where organizational, individual and professional discourses are prominent to various degrees. Furthermore, underlying representations of career relate to both hierarchical views, and to a perspective of exchange. In addition, two new representations of career emerged: career as a non-hierarchical or equal level position, and career as a sorting tool. The results indicate that lead teachers have found themselves caught in tensions between multifaceted meanings of career, research-based education, and personal and organizational pressures associated with the intentions of the career reform.
W 2013 r. szwedzki rząd wprowadził reformę ścieżki rozwoju zawodowego dla nauczycieli (SFS 2013, s. 70), która ustanowiła dwa nowe stanowiska, mianowicie nauczycieli wiodących i doświadczonych nauczycieli przedmiotowych. Badania, których wyniki prezentuje niniejszy artykuł, analizowały proces wprowadzania tej reformy do szwedzkiego systemu oświatowego na wczesnym etapie, koncentrowały się na rozwoju zawodowym i uczeniu się nauczycieli, próbujących jednocześnie zinterpretować i wprowadzić nowe stanowisko do codziennego życia zawodowego. Zbadano postrzeganie kariery zawodowej przez nauczycieli, a także ich pomysły, strategie i działania związane z radzeniem sobie z wymaganiami nowej reformy dotyczącymi pracy badawczej i udokumentowanego doświadczenia zawodowego. W celu zebrania danych empirycznych przeprowadzone zostały wywiady z dwunastoma nauczycielami wiodącymi. Analiza danych wygenerowała cztery różne rządomyślności stosowane przez nauczycieli, próbujących poradzić sobie w swojej praktyce z reformą zawodową: deweloper szkoły, kierownik procesu, specjalista przedmiotowy i mimowolny karierowicz. Badanie wykazało, że nauczyciele odnoszą swoją racjonalność do dyskursów zawodowych, w których w różnym stopniu istotne są dyskursy organizacyjne, indywidualne i profesjonalne. Ponadto podstawowe reprezentacje kariery dotyczą zarówno poglądów hierarchicznych, jak i perspektywy wymiany. Dodatkowo pojawiły się dwie nowe reprezentacje kariery: kariera jako pozycja niehierarchiczna lub równa i kariera jako narzędzie podziału. Wyniki wskazują, że nauczyciele wiodący znaleźli się między wielowymiarowymi znaczeniami kariery a edukacją opartą na badaniach oraz presją osobistą i organizacyjną związaną z założeniami reformy rozwoju zawodowego.

W pracy zbadano zależności pomiędzy zmianami barwy powierzchni pieczywa pszennego wytwarzanego metodą jednofazową z dwóch rodzajów mąk, a siłą potrzebną do jej spenetrowania. Ciasto było wyrabiane w różnym czasie, po czym każdą z prób poddano obróbce termicznej. W gotowych produktach dokonywano instrumentalnego pomiaru barwy powierzchni w systemie L*a*b* oraz przeprowadzono test penetracji. Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników badań wyliczono zależności pomiędzy dynamiką zmianami barwy powierzchni pieczywa, a silą potrzebna do jest przebicia. Uzyskano wysokie wartości współczynników korelacji dla badanych parametrów. Na tej podstawie udowodniono, że z zależności matematycznych, znając czas wyrabiania masy ciasta surowego i rodzaj użytej maki, można wyliczyć siłę, jaka będzie charakterystyczna dla produktu o danej barwie powierzchni.
The study investigates relations between surface colour changes of wheat bakery made using a single-phase method of two flour types, and force required to penetrate it. Dough was kneaded at different time, and then each sample was subject to thermal treatment. Surface colour was measured with instruments in system L*a*b* and penetration test was carried out for ready products. Obtained results allowed to compute relations between bakery surface colour change dynamics, and the force needed to puncture it. High correlation coefficient values were obtained for tested parameters. This gave grounds to prove that if we knew raw dough kneading time and used flour type, it would be possible to compute with mathematic relations the force, which would be characteristic force product possessing given surface colour.

Bodźcowość warunków biometeorologicznych we Wrocławiu przeanalizowana została na podstawie wartości wskaźnika oceny obciążeń cieplnych człowieka UTCI (Universal Thermal Climate Index) w latach 2008–2014. Wyliczono je z danych o kroku godzinowym otrzymanych z Obserwatorium Agro- i Hydrometeorologii Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego we Wrocławiu, z uwzględnieniem składowych całkowitego bilansu promieniowania słonecznego. Analizie poddane zostały roczne i wieloletnie przebiegi wartości wskaźnika UTCI oraz częstość występowania klas wartości wskaźnika odpowiadających określonej bodźcowości (stres ciepła i zimna). Dla wybranych okresów fal ciepła i chłodu porównano przebiegi głównych meteorologicznych determinant wskaźnika UTCI. Potwierdzono słabą bodźcowość warunków biometeorologicznych Wrocławia. Wykazano, że warunki biometeorologiczne wrocławskich przedmieść charakteryzują się znaczną frekwencją braku obciążeń cieplnych. Zaznaczono, że w ostatnich latach wzrasta liczba sytuacji ze stresem zimna, co w obszarach o stosunkowo niskiej szorstkości podłoża spowodowane jest dynamiką ruchu powietrza w częściej występujących sytuacjach cyklonalnych.
Stimulating qualities of biometeorological conditions of Wrocław were analyzed on the basis of the values of the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) of the years 2008–2014. UTCI values were calculated from 1-hour data with the use of components of solar radiation balance, measured in the Agro- and Hydrometeorological Observatory of Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Science. Annual and long-standing courses of UTCI and the occurrence frequency of UTCI levels corresponding to a specific stimulating condition (heat and cold stress) were analyzed. For the selected coldwave and heat-wave, the courses of the main meteorological determinants of UTCI were compared. It was demonstrated that the biometeorological conditions of Wrocław suburbia are characterized by a considerable frequency of heat load deficit. It was remarked that the number of incidents of cold stress has increased in recent years. In in the areas of relatively smal l surface roughness, the reason can be attributed to the dynamics of the wind in more frequently occurring cyclonic circulation.

The following study will attempt to answer the question: What tasks focused on the attributes of the human person are confronted with early childhood education subjects?
Jednym z głównych zadań szkoły i priorytetowym celem zabiegów edukacyjnych jest integralny rozwój i wychowanie ucznia. Ów integralny rozwój człowieka należy rozumieć jako rozwój wszystkich warstw człowieka, wzajemnie ze sobą zintegrowanych i przenikających się, prowadzących w projekcie życia do pełni człowieczeństwa (Chałas, 2007, s. 11). Aby był on możliwy, należy pamiętać, że uczeń jest osobą, tzn. posiada swą godność i wartości przysługujące mu z natury: rozumność – mądrość, wolność, odpowiedzialność, zdolność do miłości, zdolność do twórczości, zdolność do transcendencji. W poniższym opracowaniu zostanie podjęta próba odpowiedzi na pytanie: jakie zadania skoncentrowane na przymiotach osoby ludzkiej stają przed podmiotami edukacji wczesnoszkolnej?

More and more we have to do witch texts that their receivers do not pay attention to signs and values but to sensual qualities. “Return to things” and “neomaterialism” are popular slogans in contemporary humanities but without conviction that it means necessity of resignation prevailing foundations (for ex. understanding or interpretation) and forces us to acceptation rather naturalistic ideas. Describe of enterprises which are popular on rural and in small towns in Poland shows us that this change is important and unavoidable.

Opis:
This paper presents an application of artificial neural networks to approximation and identification of additional wave-generated resistance, slamming and internal forces depending on ship motion and wave parameters. The analysis was performed for a typical bulk carrier in ballast loading conditions. The investigations were carried out on the basis of ship response data calculated by means of exact numerical methods. Analytical functions presented in the form of artificial neural networks were analyzed with a view of their accuracy against standard values. Possible ways of application of the artificial neural networks were examined from the point of view of accuracy of approximation and identification of the assumed ship response parameters.
