The stereotypes that concern the roles determined by one’s sex convey the traditional understanding of the place, role and activity of men and women in society. The paper analyzes the leading Polish news programs in respect of female presence. This presence was defined in a two-fold manner: women as the authors of material in news programs and women as participants of the events reported. In the first case, the number and subjects of reports prepared by female reporters was analyzed and the frequency with which they act as anchors of news programs. The second aspect of the research concerned female participants of stories covered in news programs. The analysis in particular concerned the roles which female protagonists of news reports played. A working hypothesis assumed that women in news programs will be presented in their traditional roles as perceived by society. The analysis corroborated this assumption. Female reporters more frequently than male reporters covered social topics and the stories of ordinary people, i.e. the realms that are traditionally perceived as female, while female protagonists of the events covered most often played the private roles of mothers, wives or witnesses. The professional roles of women included politicians related to the social sectors (labor and social care, education, health) or press spokeswomen. The conclusion of the paper is that the news programs of the leading TV stations do not show the reality but rather reflect and reinforce the image of which sex should play which roles in the public domain.

This work is devoted to the plotting of coupler curves in the environment of graphical programs. As there is a large variety of shapes, for the purpose of this study, the authors selected those curves that feature a cusp form. In the research, two software programs were used, i.e., AutoCAD and Rhinoceros with the Grasshopper plug-in. Two types of curves were defined: a fixed and a moving centrode, in which the points of the moving centrode define the coupler curves whose cusps are located on the fixed centrode. In conclusion, two design tools were compared and the curves in question were discussed in detail.

In order to accomplish the mission of a public radio it is necessary to manage the broadcasting time adequately, taking into account the mission-related objectives, such as production of programs focusing on matters important for local communities. Public radio should be perceived by the audience as a reliable and trustworthy source of information. At the same time it should compete for young listeners and improve attractiveness of the program without excessive commercialization. Therefore, being a public station, Radio Rzeszów SA broadcasts a wide variety of programs focusing on information, opinions, culture, entertainment, education and sport, in compliance with its mission. Moreover, the schedule of programs is designed taking into account the criteria for the preferred programs, as defined by the National Broadcasting Council. The numerous mission-related tasks of a public broadcasting entity include programs for national and ethnic minorities. Polskie Radio Rzeszów produces and broadcasts the most refined genres of radio journalism, such as reportage and radio drama.In Rzeszów Radio these are programs for Ukrainian and Łemko minorities. The related achievements are presented in the article, which also discusses the findings of Radio Rzeszów monitoring conducted by the National Broadcasting Council as well as a survey commissioned by us.

Psychoeducation is currently used in many areas of life, including psychiatry. It is difficult to imagine the modern process of treating people with mental disorders without the use of psychoeducation as a necessary, permanent element of this process, in addition to pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Psychoeducational programs are used primarily in the treatment of people with schizophrenia spectrum disorders and those suffering from bipolar affective disorder (BPAD). These programs are not only directed to the patient, but they are also addressed to their family members and friends. The article presents the possibilities of using selected psychoeducational programs, including the PEGASUS program, the Barcelona Psychoeducation Program and the Krakow Program for People with BPAD, as well as limitations of their application. The goals of these programs, their structure and effectiveness were also presented.

Opis:
One of the key problems in the area of automatic synthesis of real-time concurrent control programs is a problem of automated modeling of systems comprising multiple activities or processes that proceed concurrently. In that context, the discrete-event systems framework enabling to predict the modeled objects performance and then to design of assumed quality control program on the basis of the given specification of the processes controlled, plays a crucial role. From that point of view, the Petri nets can be seen as a most widely recognized tool aimed at modeling system’s concurrency. So, the main objective of our contribution is to illustrate the Petri nets based approach from both: IF…THEN… rules system’s behavior specification and its Turing machine like representation points of view.

We introduce a uniform non-monotonic framework for knowledge representation based on epistemic logic which is sufficiently general to encompass several nonmonotonic formalisms, including circumscription, autoepistemic logic, various semantics proposed for logic programs and deductive databases (stable semantics, well-founded semantics and stationary semantics) as well as Gelfond’s epistemic specifications. The existence of such a uniform framework allows us not only to provide simpler and perhaps more natural definitions of various formalisms but it also enables us to better understand mutual relationships existing between them.
