A number of authors have looked into the problems involved in finding the most appropriate and fundamental competences and capablilities of a teacher that form the basis of his/her professionalism and are becoming more and more essential for changing attitudes towards requirements in the professional preparation and practice of a teacher. This trend has become evident since the 1990s with several overriding tendencies which can be easily identified. F. Oser’s model, which has been widely recognized across Europe, has been the main inspiration for the preparation of the Slovak approach towards teacher competences. The draft of the structure of a teacher competence profile in the Slovak Republic in accordance with European trends and documents is based on the teacher’s competence profile from the interactional model of education with the following three basic dimensions: the pupil, the teacher, and the teaching process which occurs between them. This is the basis for the teacher’s competence profile and it has now become a topic of public debate.

Competence profiles assessment for learning supporters of professionals providing care for older people – presentation of ComPro projectAs a result of labour migration to the old EU countries the nursing staff in the residential and social care institutions in Poland is being extensively repalced by care assistants who are less knowledgable and competent in providing care for the elderly. Moreover the in-job education is poorly developed in those institutions and the position of an in-job educator is not clearly defined. It is observed that competences of the injob educator should be defined and promoted to improve the process of in-job education. This problem has been addressed by the muliticenter study conducted in the framework of a European ComPro project (Competence Profiles for Learning Supporters in Elderly Care) funded by Leonardo da Vinici program (2006–2008). The main goal of the project was to develop the self-assessment tool for persons responsible for in-job education of professionals caring for older persons in social care institutions. In order to help them recognize the deficit competencies the in-job educators should be specially trained to effectively detect professionals’ educational needs.

W artykule dokonano analizy poglądów różnych autorów dotyczących kompetencji społecznych przyszłych oficerów. Charakteryzują się one wielowymiarowością i interdyscyplinarnością w zakresie wymagań. Autorzy zwracają uwagę na konieczność wzbogacania kwalifikacji zawodowych oficerów o nowe komponenty, na które składają się kompetencje: interpretacyjne, komunikacyjne, moralne, metodyczne, postulacyjne i realizacyjne. Na zakończenie zaproponowano możliwości kształtowania i doskonalenia kompetencji społecznych przyszłych oficerów marynarki wojennej, wskazano kierunki wzbogacania treści programowych o zagadnienia pedagogiczne, psychologiczne, socjologiczne, a także z zakresu teorii komunikowania społecznego oraz teorii organizacji i zarządzania, które umożliwią współczesnym dowódcom skuteczne funkcjonowanie w ciągle zmieniającej się rzeczywistości społeczno-zawodowej.
This paper deals with social competences in naval officers – their structure, the role competences play in performance of duties and the ways they should be taught. There are a lot of components of social competences — interpersonal, communicative, moral, methodical and many others. At the end of the paper presented are some suggestions concerned with teaching,developing and practising social competences of naval officers. It highlights some areas of pedagogy, psychology, sociology, social communication and theory of organization and management to be included in teaching programs to help naval officers acquire skills important for commanders to effectively function in constantly changing social-professional environment.

Celem artykułu jest poznanie czynników warunkujących kompetencje zawodowe studentów kończących wybrane kierunki techniczne, z uwzględnieniem specyfiki wiejskiego rynku pracy. Badaniami objęto grupę celową 84 studentów, którzy zadeklarowali chęć podnoszenia kompetencji przedsiębiorczych w systemie pozaedukacyjnym. Wyniki badań wykazały, że studenci wysoko oceniają zarówno przydatność wiedzy nabywanej podczas toku studiów, jak i rangę doświadczenia zawodowego w ramach praktyk zawodowych i staży. Niska jest natomiast orientacja na tworzenie miejsc pracy, w tym podejmowania działalności gospodarczej na własny rachunek.
The aim of this article is to recognize factors which determined professional competences of students who in the short time are finishing choosen technical direction of high education with particular regard paid to rural labour market. The survay covered 84 studentas, which wanted to bring up their entrepreneurial competence in extraeducational system. Results of research showed that students evaluated highly usefulness of knowledge, which they obtained during study as well as knowlege, they evaluated within professional practices. However, they aren’t interested in creation of work place and taking up own economic activites. Therefore, it is indispensable to look for effective ways on stimulation of entrepreneurship among young people.

The subject of this study is the analysis of one of the competences of the professional self-governing bodies of medical doctors, namely the exercising of professional liability. Both the analysis of historical provisions and modern regulations confirms that the competence of exercising professional liability is one of the most significant rights and responsibilities of the professional self-governing body of doctors. It should be remembered that the binding law on the chambers of medical doctors stipulates that it is a professional self-government’s task to represent individuals who perform the profession of doctor and dentist, and to exercise care that these professions are performed within the limits of public inter- est and for its protection. Therefore, it seems that exercising of professional liability is the fundamental priority in the realm of ensuring appropriate performance of the profession.

W artykule przedstawione zostały wyniki badania opinii kierowników terenowych zespołów doradztwa dotyczące przygotowania doradców do pracy. Badania przeprowadzono w okresie od maja do lipca 2010 roku. Opinie zebrane zostały metodą ankietową od 229 kierowników terenowych zespołów doradczych, w których zatrudnionych było ponad 70% wszystkich doradców terenowych w kraju. Ankieta zawierała 70 szczegółowych dziedzin pracy doradczej pogrupowanych w obszary pracy doradczej. Kierownicy terenowych zespołów doradczych najwyżej ocenili kompetencje metodyczne doradców oraz przygotowanie do udzielania pomocy rolnikom w korzystaniu z najważniejszych działań Programu Rozwoju Obszarów Wiejskich na lata 2007-2013. Równocześnie wskazali na niewystarczające przygotowanie doradców w zakresie postępu w technologiach produkcji rolniczej, udzielania pomocy rolnikom w inicjowaniu i rozwoju dodatkowych dochodów w gospodarstwie rolnym (z wyjątkiem agroturystyki) oraz pomocy mieszkańcom wsi w organizowaniu wspólnych przedsięwzięć na rzecz rozwoju lokalnej społeczności wiejskiej. Wyniki analizy wskazują na potrzebę podwyższania kwalifikacji zawodowych doradców w tych dziedzinach.
In the article results of the opinion of managers of local advising joint offices are presented concerning preparations of advisers to the work Research were carried out from May to July 2010. Gathered opinions became an inquiry method from 229 managers of local advisory offices in which engaged it was over 70% all local advisers in the country. The questionnaire contained 70 detailed spheres of advisory work grouped into areas of advisory work: Managers of local advisory teams at most they rated methodical competences of advisers and preparation to rendering aid to farmers in use from most important activities of the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013. Simultaneously they evidenced inadequate preparation of advisers within the progress in technologies of agricultural production, renderings aid to farmers in initiation and development of additional earnings in the holding (excepting of agritourism) and the help to countrymen in organization of joint ventures in the interest of development of local country-community. Results of the analysis evidenced the need of increasing of professional qualifications of advisers in these spheres.

The article presents the results of the author’s own empirical studies, conducted within her scientific paradigm, allowing for comparing real results of the social competences (SC) level of Polish workers from enterprises (n=208) with the subjective assessment of their competences level estimated by their superiors. The psychological SC Questionnaire was used to measure the SC. The satisfaction of a worker from the already received assessment of their potential made by the direct superior was measured by means of Questionnaire – QFOI and the quality method – IDIs. The analyses show that there are differences between a profile of employees’ SC and a prolife evaluated by their superiors. In most cases superiors estimated the level of employees’ SC significantly lower. The subjects claim that they experience the feeling of injustice while assessing their professional competence in their workplace.

The purpose of the present study is to make the diagnosis and to draw up the report on accordance of the vocational education received at art schools to expectations of future employers. Following questions express extensive problems, taken in survey research: - What computer programmes are used at secondary art schools? - What graphic design programmes are known by students of secondary art school and how they assess their level of competence required for usage of those programmes? - Are the graduates of secondary art school accoutred with knowledge and qualities accordant with the expectations of their future employers?
