Automotive companies require continuous development and demonstration of huge adaptability to market requirements. The level of competition in this sector has created the need to increase productivity, productivity and quality to meet customer requirements. Despite the opportunities offered by automation of production and logistics systems, many companies, especially the automotive industry, still rely on man-made work because of its flexibility and cognitive and motor skills, which machines are unable to perform. It should be pointed out that the multivariantity and specificity of production technologies and the time of technological changeovers make a low level of automation or lack thereof the only right alternative. At work, an attempt was made to carry out an analysis of factors affecting the efficiency of low-automation production processes on the example of a polish manufacturing company from the automotive industry.

In this article the main problems related with the proper choice of the design and operation parameters of vacuum installation in vacuum moulding system have been discussed. In such system a vacuum are generated using electric-driven vacuum pumps. The aim of the experiment is to evaluate the performance of a vacuum system basing on registered plots of selected electric power parameters of the power-supplying system of the pumps with parallel measurements instantaneous values of pressure in selected points of model stand. The measurements system for power-supply unit has incorporated the recorders of instantaneous current and voltage values. Following the suitable numerical procedure, the experimental data are analysed to yield mathematical relationships between the variations of the generated vacuum pressure levels and variations of selected electric power parameters. According to the authors, the applied measurements system of the parameters of a vacuum-assisted installation may become an effective and easy practical method of evaluating the performance of such installations, used also in industry.

Objective Determining impact which Artificial Intelligence, Robotization and Automation have and will continue to have on the labour market in the processing industry.   Method Literature review, statistical data and data from industry reports. Deduction and comparative analysis.  Results In the course of the work, a review of the literature on the subject was carried out and the issue of artificial intelligence, as well as robotization and automation of production was defined, and in addition, it has been demonstrated how important factor of production is labour. It presents examples of the use of artificial intelligence in the modern economy and presents the probability of replacing human work by artificial intelligence systems. Data from research reports and statistical analyses were used in the context of labour market analysis in industries and economies with the highest degree of automation and robotization. Conclusions were presented, which implement the set objective and are the basis for conducting research in the areas indicated by the authors.   In the course of work, we defined what the labour is, its productivity and measurement methods. Data from research reports were presented, showing the probability of changes in the labour market in relation to specific occupations, due to the use of artificial intelligence. The relationship between artificial intelligence and process automation and robotization is described. The above-mentioned studies allowed the authors to demonstrate some important relations between the described factors.

The analysis of the production processes automation phenomenon in enterprises operating in Poland is the object of the presented chapter. The current state of automation of production processes has been also evaluated. The data presented in the chapter come from all types of analyses, reports and statistical data. The results of the analysis confirm that not only the production processes automation level of enterprises in Poland increases, but it also affects the flexibility of the production processes and the product quality improvement as well as financial effects of enterprises. In conclusion, authors underline that there are some barriers in the production processes automation implementing.

Opis:
Vacuum conditions in foundry installations are generated using electric-driven vacuum pumps. The purpose of the experiment is to evaluate the performance of a vacuum-assisted system for compaction of moulding sand basing on registered plots of selected electric power parameters of the power-supplying system of the pumps. Model testing done on an experimental vacuum system installation, power-supplied from a system incorporating the recorders of instantaneous current and voltage values. Following the numerical procedure, the experimental data are analysed to yield mathematical relationships between the variations of the generated vacuum pressure levels and variations of selected electric power parameters. Registered and computed values of selected parameters: instantaneous and RMS voltage and current values, active, reactive and apparent power levels and power coefficient allow for diagnosing the adequacy and reliability of the system operation. According to the authors, the applied monitoring of the power parameters of a vacuum-assisted installation may become an effective and easy practical method of evaluating the performance of such installations, used also in foundry plants.

Currently, conventional methods of decline development put enormous cost pressure on the profitability of mining operations. This is the case with narrow vein ore bodies where current methods and mine design of decline development may be too expensive to support economic extraction of the ore. According to studies, the time it takes to drill, clean and blast an end in conventional decline development can be up to 224 minutes. This is because once an end is blasted, cleaning should first be completed before drilling can commence, resulting in low advance rates per shift. Improvements in advance rates during decline development can be achieved by application of the Electric Monorail Transport System (EMTS) based drilling system. The system consists of the drilling and loading components that use monorail technology to drill and clean the face during decline development. The two systems work simultaneously at the face in such a way that as the top part of the face is being drilled the pneumatic loading system cleans the face. However, to improve the efficiency of the two systems, critical processes performed by the two systems during mining operations must be automated. Automation increases safety and productivity, reduces operator fatigue and also reduces the labour costs of the system. The aim of this paper is, therefore, to describe automation designs of the two processes performed by the monorail drilling and loading systems during operations. During automation design, critical processes performed by the two systems and control requirements necessary to allow the two systems execute such processes automatically have also been identified.
Derzeit haben konventionelle Methoden der Abnahme Entwicklung enormen Kostendruck auf die Rentabilität der Bergbau. Dies ist der Fall mit engen Vene Erzkörper, wo aktuelle Methoden und Mine Design der Entwicklung des Rückgangs kann zu teuer sein, um die wirtschaftliche Extraktion des Erzes zu unterstützen. Studien zufolge kann die Zeit, die zum Bohren, Reinigen und Sprengen eines Endes in einer konventionellen Abnahmeentwicklung benötigt wird, bis zu 224 Minuten dauern. Dies liegt daran, dass, sobald ein Ende gestrahlt wird, sollte die Reinigung zuerst abgeschlossen werden, bevor das Bohren beginnen kann, was zu niedrigen Vorschüben pro Schicht. Verbesserungen bei den Fortschrittsraten bei der Entwicklung des Rückgangs können durch die Anwendung des Elektrohängebahn-systems (EMTS) erreicht werden. Das System besteht aus den Bohr-und Beschickung Komponenten, die Monorail-Technologie zu bohren und zu reinigen das Gesicht bei der Entwicklung des Rückgangs. Die beiden Systeme arbeiten gleichzeitig am Gesichtsfeld so, dass das pneumatische Ladensystem bei der Bohrung des Oberteils des Gesichts das Gesicht reinigt. Um jedoch die Effizienz der beiden Systeme zu verbessern, müssen kritische Prozesse, die von den beiden Systemen im Bergbau durchgeführt werden, automatisiert werden. Die Automatisierung steigert die Sicherheit und Produktivität, reduziert die Ermüdung des Bedienpersonals und reduziert gleichzeitig die Arbeitskosten des Systems. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es daher, Automatisierungskonzepte der beiden Prozesse zu beschreiben, die von den Monorail-Bohr- und Beschickungssystemen während des Betriebs durchgeführt werden. Während des Automatisierungsentwurfs wurden auch kritische Prozesse identifiziert, die von den beiden Systemen durchgeführt wurden, und Kontrollanforderungen, die erforderlich sind, damit die beiden Systeme solche Prozesse automatisch ausführen können.

Purpose: the main purpose of the article is to justify need for interdisciplinary professional training of employees for challenges related to the growing importance of dynamically developing automation, which is closely related to the pace of civilization development. Design/methodology/approach: the theses presented in the article have been verified using: literature review, critical literature analysis, document research and comparative analysis. Findings: based on content of this article, a future emerges in which man, industry and surrounding reality will be shaped by automation developing with a hitherto unknown dynamics. This phenomenon may lead to the disappearance of a world dominated by the industrial age and the transition to a new era determined by technologies, dominated by data flow and its analysis. In automated economies, knowledge that is exemplified by the knowledge society that creates innovative solutions has become a key capital. It seems that automation in the context of economies' competitiveness will determine the need to raise the level of education and of competences, and to create and control new knowledge. Originality/value: the article enriches knowledge and develops discussion in the area of dynamically developing automation. Thanks to the knowledge presented in the article, it can be concluded that the decisive role in creating the development of labor market and education can be overcome by breaking social and professional barriers to automation processes - which may favor the social dimension of the individual and strengthen the sense of human life fullness.

One of the causes of ships’ accidents are errors in the communication between navigators in charge of ships concerned. The most common causes include a lack of communication, misunderstanding of a received message, incorrect choice of the type of message or misinterpretation of the information exchanged. These errors can be significantly reduced by the automation of intership communication processes, in particular by a developed automatic maritime communication system. The decision to communicate is as essential as communication itself. This paper presents the problem of identifying situations requiring the establishing of communication by a sea-going vessel. A definition of the need to establish communication between the vessels is associated with the acquisition of data, analysis and evaluation of the navigational situation and the relevant inference process. Based on an analysis of the process of identifying navigation situations which require communication between proceeding ships, the model of automatic identification of such situations has been developed.
