In this paper the Power Method for the generalized eigenvalue problem for matrix pencil (A-B)x=0 is considered. At any step of this iterative process the system of linear algebraic equations By-Ax has to be approximately solved with respect to y. We try to answer the question: how accurately we have to solve this system on each step of iteration,in order to guarantee resolution of the eigenproblem with given precision.

In this paper a method of power control policies optimization in radiointerface of mobile network with code-division multiplexing is proposed. It allows reducing the interference level in downlink and uplink channels. The optimum SNR is provided in the cell based on this power control method. The SNR is enough to ensure capacity requirements and service quality parameters.

This paper investigates the noise levels present at various points in the FOSREM type fiber optic seismograph. The main aim of this research was to discover magnitudes of noise, introduced by various components of the analog and optical circuits of the device. First, the noise present in the electronic circuit without any optics connected is measured. Further experiments show noise levels including the detector diode not illuminated and illuminated. Additional tests were carried out to prove the necessity of analog circuitry shielding. All measurements were repeated using three powering scenarios which investigated the influence of power supply selection on noise. The results show that the electronic components provide a sufficient margin for the use of an even more precise detector diode. The total noise density of the whole device is lower than 4⋅10⁻⁷ rad/(s√Hz). The use of a dedicated Insulating Power Converter as a power supply shows possible advantages, but further experiments should be conducted to provide explicit thermic confirmation of these gains.

The current emergency power supply (EPS) measures are not perfect and standardised in response to large-scale power failures, such as city-wide ones. This review paper focuses on reasonably using the emergency electric power source to supply power in case of an abnormal urban power grid, to ensure the regular operation of urban electrical equipment and the daily life of the people. This study first introduces the different kinds of main emergency electric power sources and analyses their advantages and disadvantages. The battery of an electric vehicle as a new potential emergency power source is introduced that can also avoid the loss caused by unexpected power failure. Finally, three different EPS methods are explained in detail for different emergency occasions. Among them, the energy router is reviewed comprehensively considering it is the most potential emergency power distribution approach in the future because of its various applications.

The purpose of this paper is to present methods of vibrations damping coefficient determination. The methods, such as collocation method, two energetic methods and half-power bandwidth method concern composite structures. The verification of methods has been taken into account in this work. Two real compound models and two numerical models have been created. Time series of vibrations of these models have been measured and calculated. The comparison of four methods has been made on the basis of obtained results.

The power injection method (PIM) is an experimental method used to identify the statistical energy analysis (SEA) parameters (called loss factors – LFs) of a vibroacoustic system. By definition, LFs are positive real numbers. However, it is not uncommon to obtain negative LFs during experiments, which is considered a measurement error. To date, a recently proposed method, called Monte Carlo filtering (MCF), of correcting negative coupling loss factors (CLFs) has been validated for systems that meet SEA assumptions. In this article, MCF was validated for point connections and in conditions where SEA assumptions are not met (systems with low modal overlap, non-conservative junctions, strong coupling). The effect of removing MCF bias on the results was also examined. During the experiments, it was observed that the bias is inversely proportional to the damping loss factor of the examined subsystems. The obtained results confirm that the PIM, combined with MCF, allows to determine non-negative SEA parameters in all considered cases.

The work concerns the diagnostic assessment of the technical condition of the car suspension. The paper discusses practical problems that usually appear during testing of car shock absorbers mounted in a vehicle. The results of experimental tests for passenger car, carried out according to the EUSAMA standard test, were compared with the results obtained using newer methods (phase angle method and half power bandwidth method - HPBM). The article also deals with the issue of incompatibility of typical excitation at diagnostic devices for testing suspension with the one that often occurs in road conditions (by simulation method). The main purpose of the work was to assess the usefulness and reliability of various diagnostic methods intended for the testing of vehicle shock absorbers without disassembly them from the vehicle. The analyses carried out indicated the advantages and disadvantages of these methods in practice. It is also shown that the conditions of diagnostic tests correspond poorly to the operating conditions of the shock absorbers under normal vehicle operating conditions. An important factor in this case is the sliding friction in the suspension.

W artykule przedstawiono typową procedurę wyznaczania współczynników tłumienia konstrukcji przy pomocy metody modalnej. Przeprowadzono krótką analizę możliwości zastosowania tej metody dla ośrodka gruntowego. Opisano procedurę wyznaczania tłumienia w gruncie przy zastosowaniu metody połowy pasma z wykorzystaniem do tego celu transformaty falkowej. Przedstawiono podstawowe zalety tej metody w odniesieniu do metody modalnej. Przedstawiono przykład obliczeniowy zastosowania przedstawionej metody.
The first part of this paper describes a typical procedure of determining damping coefficients of a construction, using modal method. A short analysis of application of this method to soil is discussed. In the main part a procedure of determinig the damping of soil using half-power bandwidth method and wavelet transformation is described. Some basic andvantages of this method referring to modal method were shown. Final part of the paper contains a numerical example of application of the described method.

Photovoltaic panels have a non-linear current-voltage characteristics to produce the maximum power at only one point called the maximum power point. In the case of the uniform illumination a single solar panel shows only one maximum power, which is also the global maximum power point. In the case an irregularly illuminated photovoltaic panel many local maxima on the power-voltage curve can be observed and only one of them is the global maximum. The proposed algorithm detects whether a solar panel is in the uniform insolation conditions. Then an appropriate strategy of tracking the maximum power point is taken using a decision algorithm. The proposed method is simulated in the environment created by the authors, which allows to stimulate photovoltaic panels in real conditions of lighting, temperature and shading.

The influence and the potential risk due to hidden faults of a relay protection system on power supply in distribution systems are paid more and more attention to. A probability analysis method is used to analyse fault characteristics and action mechanism of dominant faults, hidden misoperation and non-operation of the relay protection systems, and failure probability model of relay protection system is constructed and simplified. The effects of dominant faults, hidden misoperation and non-operation of the relay protection systems on the reduced power supply load power are analysed, and a probabilistic model for reduced power supply load power is constructed by three parts corresponding to dominant faults, hidden misoperation and non-operation. A probability calculation method of power supply risk occurrence due to hidden faults of relay protecttion system is proposed considering the fault probability of the relay protection systems, the frequency of the hidden faults occurring in operation period, the reduced power supply load power or load power outage, and the connection mode of the in-lines, out-lines and transformers in a substation. The feasibility and applicability of the proposed method for estimation of risk value probability of the relay protection systems is verified by two studied examples.
