Opis:
Mobile heavy machines produce vibrations with low natural frequencies. Because they tend to ride at low speeds, excitations due to road roughness excite low frequency vibrations, which can be reduced by active or semi active methods only. Under conditions of low frequency vibrations, energy dissipation in tires will reduce the vibration intensity in a minor degree only. In the unsprung mobile machine vibration isolation system are provided between a vibration source and the protected object (operator) along the path of vibration propagation. Most machines are now equipped with controlled suspension seats. In the case of active suspensions, the external energy source is required, for instance in the form of compressed air. The compressed air has the advantage that it is generally available in heavy machines as the working fluid and is environmentally friendly. Simulation tests were carried out both in the time domain in Matlab-Simulink and in the frequency domain in the program Mathcad. Simulation tests were performed to investigate effectiveness and stability of the proposed solution and the results were deemed satisfactory. The system was found to be feasible and implementable with respect to every parameter. The first purpose of this study is to develop a simulation model of the active suspension of operator's seat based on an adjustable pneumatic actuator. The other purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of different control strategies.

Opis:
Shock absorber with cylindrical actuator is a new concept of integrated damper with floating device, in international patent application PCT/EP2016/061515, with wide application in road, rail and aerial vehicles. Comparative to the known solution with rubber sleeves or bellows, the new one is capable to work at more increased pressure being more compact and due to metallic cylinder is more reliable. The other important advantage consists of it applicability at any kind of shock absorber without any special preparation, the solution consisting of replacing the dust shield with a pneumatic cylinder sealed against rod with a gasket and sliding closed in the lower part by sealing element/s fitted in trough/troughs practiced in an annular body fastened against the outer cylinder. For a better behaviour the patent application contains and solutions with double sliding sealing working at high pressure and thus assuring enough floating forces to sustain the vehicle without standard metallic spring so it can be utilized successfully in aerial vehicles landing gear. By using displacement and pressure transducers and equipment of control and command, it becomes an active suspension. The paper presents the double sliding sealing solution and demonstrates, by simulation the advantages confer by this new solution of shock absorber with cylindrical actuator in landing gear. This purpose was realized a virtual suspension model on which simulated hard landing for vehicle load and unload states, for different pneumatic spring preloaded forces.

The paper deals with physical and mathematical models of the active vibration reduction system with pneumatic actuator used for the horizontal seat suspension. In the basis of the numerical simulation, that is conducted for the excitation signal having the properties of white noise in the frequency range of 0.5 - 10 Hz, the low effectiveness of horizontal passive vibration reduction systems is shown in comparison with the active one. Appropriate selection of the model allows to obtain simulation results close to the dynamic behavior of a real system. The power spectral density of vibration acceleration and the transmissibility functions are presented as the results of computer simulations using the Matlab-Simulink software package. Analysis of the results leads to the conclusion concerning the hydraulic actuator effectiveness in application to vibration reduction systems.

The research was attempted to mimic the locomotion of the salamander, which is found to be one of the main animals from an evolutionary point of view. The design of the limb and body was started with the parametric studies of pneumatic network (Pneu-Net). Pneu-Net is a pneumatically operated soft actuator that bends when compressed fluid is passed inside the chamber. Finite Element Analysis software, ANSYS, was used to evaluate the height of the chamber, number of chambers and the gap between chambers for both limb and body of the soft mechanism. The parameters were decided based on the force generated by the soft actuators. The assembly of the salamander robot was then exported to MATLAB for simulating the locomotion of the robot in a physical environment. Sine-based controller was used to simulate the robot model and the fastest locomotion of the salamander robot was identified at 1 Hz frequency, 0.3 second of signal delay for limb actuator and negative π phase difference for every contralateral side of the limbs. Shin-Etsu KE-1603, a hyper elastic material, was used to build the salamander robot and a series of experiments were conducted to record the bending angle, the respective generated force in soft actuators and the gait speed of the robot. The developed salamander robot was able to walk at 0.06774 m/s, following an almost identical pattern to the simulation.

Opis:
In this paper, we describe the design and analysis of a Soft Cubic Module (SCM) with a single internal pneumatically actuated chamber. The actuation chamber’s shape, size and, orientation have been evaluated to realize a soft robotic actuator which can be further employed for the development of modular soft robotic systems. SCM can be easily manufactured through the molding process and it is composed of single soft material, the silicone polymer. Its external shape allows utilization of this module as a single block actuator as well as makes it easy to combine multiple SCM modules to build multiunit soft robotic systems. We consider it as our first tool to investigate whether the SCM scheme is sufficient to build soft robots which would be able to perform certain given tasks in various configurations like a soft gripper, bio-mimetic crawling mechanism or multi-axis manipulator. So far, the results obtained are encouraging in order to further develop and employ the SCM design scheme, focusing on its further geometrical optimization for both standalone configuration and assembly of multiple modules to realize novel, economic and easy to fabricate soft robotic systems.

Pneumatic elements are an important elements in control systems of all kinds of technological machines, including cutting machines. Thanks to their advantages, they are also present in many places in transport system and handling lines in automated production lines. In combination with electronic systems, they create a large number of elements very much needed in the broadly understood metalworking, allowing for increased flexibility and efficiency of manufacturing processes. In the paper a systematic review of such assemblies and elements, most frequently occurring in industrial practice are presented. Trends observed in this type of drives are also presented.
