    Opis:
    Knowledge about how a person functions in a high-risk environment, how the human body reacts to stressors and what stressors await a human in the mission area is the primary way by which negative effects of long-term acting in a stressful environment can be effectively neutralized. It is also important to be aware of consequences of psychological traumas and destructive methods of dealing with stress. Therefore, it seems crucial for the system for preventing negative combat stress reactions to extend the obligation of having basic knowledge on the subject, not only by a person concerned, but also by the immediate surroundings of a soldier exposed to stressors or posttraumatic stress disorder.
    Podstawowym sposobem prowadzącym do efektywnego niwelowania negatywnych skutków długotrwałego funkcjonowania w środowisku stresogennym jest przede wszystkim wiedza na temat tego, jak funkcjonuje człowiek w środowisku o podwyższonym zagrożeniu, jak reaguje na czynniki stresogenne jego organizm oraz jakie stresory czekają na człowieka przebywającego na misjach poza granicami państwa. Ważna jest również świadomość konsekwencji urazów psychicznych i destrukcyjnych metod radzenia sobie ze stresem. Dlatego kluczowe, w systemie zapobiegania negatywnym przejawom stresu bojowego, staje się rozszerzanie obowiązku posiadania podstawowej wiedzy na ten temat, nie tylko przez samego zainteresowanego, lecz także przez najbliższe otoczenie żołnierza narażonego na czynniki wywołujące stres bojowy czy zespół stresu pourazowego.

    This publication focuses on the role of reconnaissance subunits in Polish Armed Forces and aims to outline all aspects of their training and service in overseas missions. It is hypothesized that appropriate training of reconnaissance subunits is essential to enable an effective overseas mis-sion. The paper consists of three main chapters which elaborate further on the above subject. The author focuses on defining the role of reconnais-sance units in the Polish Armed Forces, their specific training requirements in respect to the ability to carry out overseas missions and identification of potential obstacles which could arise while training to work abroad. The relevant literature was searched and legislation reviewed. The author was able to conclude that above hypothesis is correct and highlighted the par-amount importance of appropriate training of reconnaissance subunits as essential aspect of their overseas service. The publications includes fore-word, summary and alphabetic index of bibliography used.

    The main purpose of the article is to attract attention to the situation of wives of soldiers who took past in overseas military missions. The two issues, e.g. the quality of sponses relations and the subjective feeling of stress lie in the authors’ interests. The research concerned the relationship between the participation in the military mission of one of the surveyed and their intensification of PTSD symptoms and the shift in the estimation of the quality of the sponses’ relations. Furthermore, we hypothes the intensification of the subjective of stress among both partners after the soldier’s return from the mission. We questioned twenty-one wives whose husbands served in overseas missions.

    The aim of the article is to identify and characterize selected social aspects of activities carried out by the Polish Armed Forces in missions and operations overseas. In Part 2, the author presented three aspects describing legal status of mission participants, Polish society’s dual perception of the Polish Military’s participation in missions and operations overseas and at home. Moreover, the correlation between international missions and opera-tions and the Polish Armed Forces’ professionalization was discussed.

    The aim of the article is to identify and characterize selected social aspects of the Polish Armed Forces’ operations and missions overseas. In this part of the publication, the author presents three related and mutually affecting each other aspects, firstly concerning the consequences of the soldiers’ operation within a military base understood as a total institution, secondly, threats to soldiers’ personal safety and finally disturbances in the functioning of the soldiers’ families resulting from their service overseas. As the topic has not been exhausted, its three other aspects will be discussed in the second part of the article.

    У статті розглядаються питання організації практичної роботи закордонних дипломатичних установ України в умовах військового стану. Надаються рекомендації на основі попередніх дій дипломатів з метою найбільш ефективної підготовки до нової екстремальної ситуації та подальшої діяльності установ. Проблемні питання розкриваються на матеріалах роботи Посольства України в Союзній Республіці Югославія у 1997-1999 рр. На основі аналізу роботи Посольства України в СРЮ визначені найбільш важливі питання діяльності дипломатичної установи в умовах військового стану: надання допомоги представникам української діаспори та громадянам, які працюють в інших українських організаціях, підтримка контактів з іншими закордонними установами, МЗС країни перебування та ін. Наголошено на необхідності узагальнення досвіду роботи усіх дипломатичних установ України, які працювали в умовах військового стану.
    The article deals with the issues of organization of practical work of foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine in conditions of martial law. Recommendations based on previous actions of diplomats with the purpose of the most effective preparation for a new emergency situation and further activity of institutions are given. Problematic issues are revealed on the materials of the work of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1997-1999. Based on the analysis of the work of the Embassy of Ukraine in the FRY, the most important issues of the activities of a diplomatic institution in a military condition were identified, namely: assistance to representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora and citizens who work in other Ukrainian organizations, support for contacts with other foreign institutions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country, and others. The necessity of generalization of experience of work of all diplomatic institutions of Ukraine, which worked in conditions of military condition, was emphasized.
