High cleanliness of a hospital environment is necessary to ensure safe working conditions for the medical staff, a correct process of hospitalization and to protect hospital visitors, an aspect rarely mentioned. A supply of air cleaned in highly-effective air filters to hospital wards with air conditioning systems and exhaust of infected air will help in maintaining the required standards of cleanliness. This article presents information on recommended classes of air and surface cleanliness, with special focus on operating theatres and suites.

Lubricating oils are characterized by improving quality. It is obtained by additives which are the integral part of the lubricants. Nevertheless, in extreme hard working conditions of the tribological systems (high pressures, velocities and temperatures, temporary lubricating lack during starting) the machine elements are not secured enough. Consequently the idea to introduce the additional substance - operating preparation into tribological systems (with the lubricating oils) appeared a few years ago. Owing to that, the lubricating oils with better antiwear and antiseizure properties are obtained. The boundary layers created on cooperating elements surfaces are able to carry bigger load and also friction resistance and wear of these elements decrease. The paper presents literature review concerning the operating preparations used in lubricating oils. Different opinions about operating preparations functioning can be found in the professional literature - from harmfulness or weak effectiveness to good efficiency and big technical, economical and ecological meaning. In author's opinion, in extreme working conditions of tribological systems the operating preparations (especially the chemical interaction preparations) ensure additional and effective protection of machine elements. The functioning efficiency ofthe operating preparations is usually the highest in case of deteriorating technical condition of tribological system elements.

Działalność operacyjna to podstawowy rodzaj działalności banku, której celem jest wygenerowanie zysku. Głównym centrum zysku są operacje aktywne, a ich realizowanie jest uwarunkowane posiadaniem kapitału w odpowiedniej wielkości. Wymusza to na bankach podejmowanie decyzji dotyczących finansowania ich działalności, biorąc pod uwagę koszty oraz ryzyko, które jest uzależnione od indywidualnych decyzji deponentów, a także niekorzystnych zmian makroekonomicznych mających wpływ na zachowanie rynków finansowych. Ryzyko finansowania wpływa na płynność banku, której odpowiedni poziom jest koniecznym, wymaganym przez KNF, warunkiem bezpiecznego jego funkcjonowania. Dlatego też bank powinien zarządzać nie tylko posiadanymi aktywami, ale także dostępnymi kapitałami w taki sposób, aby optymalizować ich strukturę pod względem wartości, rodzajów i terminów wymagalności. Artykuł ma na celu analizę źródeł finansowania banku z punktu widzenia ekonomicznych uwarunkowań ich wyboru, w kontekście minimalizacji ryzyka występującego przy jego finansowaniu.

Paper presents results of studies on a parametric method of predicting ship operating costs - useful in the preliminary ship design. Conception and theoretical basis of the method are presented, identified are also factors of significant importance for the ship operating costs, taking into account changes in the value of money. Approximation formulae for estimating the operating cost components have been developed as well as a computational algorithm based on a minimum Required Freight Rate (RFR). The useful character of the method is illustrated by examples of operating cost predictions for four different ship types designed in the Eureka project E!2772, i.e.: SINE 202 universal container carrier, SINE 203 oil product tanker, SINE 204 ro-ro ship and SINE 205 river-sea ship.

Modern robotics brings up a variety of new challenges. Industrial-only times are gone forever. Nowadays, by performing many diversified services, robots turned out to be a part of our everyday life. There is no doubt that they should be able to interact with this new miscellaneous environment seamlessly. Along with the number of requirements, the importance of software increases. While gaining more autonomy, besides standard motion control, a wide range of cogntive tasks has to be executed simultaneously. It is quite obvious that complex systems with a lot of independent modules and many functions to perform need flexible and reliable sofware solutions. This article takes a Real-Time Operating System as an answer to the problems of the new generation robotics.By comparing selected features, it provides an evaluation of the most popular commercial and non-commercial solutions. Paper describes the key characteristics that should be taken into consideration during the design process and presents several examples of their successful robotic applications, including our own choices for decentralized controllers.

Operating room is now a place or a magical environment where the suture irreplaceable, quiet and reliable tour guide patients and surgeons. There was a perception that communication with patients in operating theaters is very limited, respectively, rare and used much less than the wards, intensive care units and clinics, but it is not so. Communication during surgical interventions, whether among staff or patients is always individual. This depends mainly on whether the interventions under general, spinal or local anesthesia . This is a rather important fact, because it is derived from a method of communication between members of the operating team and the operations team and the patient. Communication is an important aspect of nursing activities. That is reason why the autors of the report focus on the specificis of nursing care in the operating room. Work in this field pats high demands on the nurse as the site of a professional, as well, as psychologicae, physical and emotionae. Inclusion of nurses in this work provides the same personal characteristics and skills.

Currently used criteria for determining car operating efficiency in road traffic are, among others, emission of harmful substances, consumption of engine driving fuels, technical service and reliability of operation, safety of use. The operational characteristics of the car in terms of engine driving fuel consumption data is usually recognized as so-called road specific fuel consumption. An important deficiency of this approach is the failure to take into account the influence of the time on the journey’s effectiveness and the final result of the entire project. To obtain a new solution in this range in the analysis, a quantity called "action", which at last will be treated as the criterion of the car operating effectiveness, was used. The quantity of action is the product of the performed work and its realisation time. Many phenomena and processes in nature take place according to the principle of "minimum of action" - this criterion can be applied in the analysis of the car’s operating efficiency taking place in road traffic. An approach of this issue is presented in this article, wherein the basic data for analysis were obtained in the framework of the car tests performed at the real traffic conditions.
Kryteriami efektywności eksploatacji samochodów aktualnie stosowanymi są m.in. te dotyczące: emisji substancji szkodliwych, zużycia materiałów pędnych, obsługi technicznej i niezawodności eksploatacji, komfortu oraz bezpieczeństwa użytkowania. Charakterystyka eksploatacyjna samochodu w zakresie wielkości zużycia materiałów pędnych (benzyna, olej napędowy, LPG) ujmowana jest zwykle jako tzw. Drogowe (objętościowe, masowe) zużycie paliwa. Istotnym niedostatkiem takiego podejścia jest fakt nieuwzględniania w analizie wpływu czasu realizacji podróży na wynik całego przedsięwzięcia. W tym celu wykorzystano wielkość zwaną „działaniem”. Wiele zjawisk i procesów zachodzi według zasady „minimum działania”, dlatego też kryterium to może znaleźć zastosowanie w analizie efektywności ruchu drogowego. Takie ujęcie zagadnienia przedstawiono w artykule, przy czym podstawowe dane do analizy pozyskano w ramach testów zrealizowanych w warunkach ruchu drogowego.

Typical financial model applied in the area of short term financial management under wealth maximization approach is in a form of an analytical model, like the one built by for example [Sartoris, Hill 1983; Kim, Chung 1990]. The assumptions concerning the continuous cash flows resulting from sales and direct relationship between the size of cash flows and the size of sales result in inaccurate and biased forecasts made on the basis of such analytical models. The applicability of it is therefore questionable. The paper presents the construction and verification of the financial model of operating working capital that enables to build forecasts of better quality. Such a goal is achieved by applying the spreadsheet approach instead of analytical functions.

In exchange for a fee for managing the capital entrusted, the investor is given the opportunity to maximize profits with low risk by eliminating the risk of price fluctuations. This strategy allows you to make a profit during both bull and bear market.

In the process of operation of naval gas turbine is necessary to know their parameters depending on their load, resulting from the swimming speed of the ship. The above equation is the operating characteristics. Classify them into: static (rotating, full-load, collaboration engine power with the receiver), dynamic (starting, acceleration and deceleration) and the universal. The paper presents the results of preliminary tests concern develop rotating characteristics an object of investigations work in the stationary states. The object of investigations was the main propulsion engines frigate type Oliver Hazard Perry which is supplied with the Polish Navy. The propulsion system consists of two naval gas turbine LM2500, reduction gear, shaft line and adjustable screw propeller. Preliminary tests were carried out during the departure of the ship to sea in a marine power plant. The measurements recorded in the engine load range from the minimum to the nominal used to develop characteristics. During the test engines have been simultaneous and the balanced load. In order to allow comparison of operating characteristics of engines tested, as well as references to the various weather conditions, the results of measurements on which it was set, brought to so-called "regulated by weather conditions". For these characteristics, using statistical analysis, were determined dependence of approximation. The received relationships can be used on need of technical diagnostics as well as the more far investigations of considered object of investigations.

Zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa systemu komputerowego jest jednym z najważniejszych zadań systemu operacyjnego. W artykule zostaną przedstawione mechanizmy i technologie zabezpieczania systemu operacyjnego Linux. Zostaną opisane metody aktywnej ochrony systemów operacyjnych poprzez blokowanie połączeń sieciowych i ograniczanie praw dostępu aplikacji do zasobów. Przedstawione zostaną również rozwiązania ograniczające szkody dokonywane przez intruzów. Różnorodność stosowanych mechanizmów bezpieczeństwa jest warunkiem skutecznej ochrony systemów komputerowych.
One of the most important tasks of the operating system is to provide computer system security. This paper describes protection mechanisms and technologies for the Linux operating system. We first present methods of active protection through blocking net connections and limiting application privileges. Then we present solutions for minimizing damages inflicted by the intruders. Diversity of security mechanisms is a required condition of effective computer systems protection.

The article presents the results of analysis of operational parameters of piston engine CA 912 ULT which is a propulsion system of ultralight gyroplane Tercel produced by Aviation Artur Trendak. Research was conducted under normal operating conditions of the autogyro and data was collected from 20 independent tests including a total of 28 flight hours, divided into training flights and competition flights. Engine speed, manifold air pressure and temperature, fuel pressure, injection time, and head temperature were recorded at 9 Hz during each flight. Collective results were presented to show the statistical analyses of the individual parameters by determining the mean values, standard deviations and histograms of the distribution of these parameters. Histograms of operating points defined by both engine speed and manifold air pressure were also determined. Analyses of the engine dynamics as a distribution of the rate of change of the engine rotational speed were also carried out. It was shown that the engine operating points are concentrated mainly in the range of idle and power above 50% of nominal power. The most frequent range is 70-80% of nominal power. It was also shown that the dynamics of engine work in real operating conditions is small. It was also shown that the way of use significantly influences the distribution of operating points. During training flights, an increase in the number of take-offs and landings causes an increase in the amount of engine work at take-off and nominal power and at idle.

Genetic algorithm is a soft computing method that works on set of solutions. These solutions are called chromosome and the best one is the absolute solution of the problem. The main problem of this algorithm is that after passing through some generations, it may be produced some chromosomes that had been produced in some generations ago that causes reducing the convergence speed. From another respective, most of the genetic algorithms are implemented in software and less works have been done on hardware implementation. Our work implements genetic algorithm in hardware that doesn’t produce chromosome that have been produced in previous generations. In this work, most of genetic operators are implemented without producing iterative chromosomes and genetic diversity is preserved. Genetic diversity causes that not only don’t this algorithm converge to local optimum but also reaching to global optimum. Without any doubts, proposed approach is so faster than software implementations. Evaluation results also show the proposed approach is faster than hardware ones.

In order to improve operation skill of the operators, the design of the auxiliary intelligent operating system of the dragline was studied. Whereby the gyroscopes incorporated in smartphone and data sequence filter algorithm, the automatic collection function of operation cycle, the rotation angle and other parameters of the dragline are attained. In line with the relations among the rotation angle of equipment operation, time-spent and the acceleration, the ratio of the acceleration and deceleration rotation angle in full load rotation and non-loaded return stage are acquired respectively. The function of bucket in rotation was realized. Comprehensive score calculation standard of the technique level of the dragline-based operation was developed, and the function of automatic checking the operation level was effectuated. Field experiment results indicated that the operators’ faults are markedly reduced as the auxiliary intelligent operating system is employed. By using the system the operation behavior of low power slow rotation in rain, snow, low atmospheric pressure and other severe weather conditions can be reduced, assuring all-weather efficient and safe operation of dragline.

The paper is concerned with an application of the climate-weather change process for a critical infrastructure operating area model to identification and prediction of this process for maritime ferry operating area. For the considered ferry operating area, there are distinguished four different climate-weather change processes and their states. Further, there are identified the unknown parameters of those processes, i.e. the probabilities of the climate-weather change processes staying at the initial climate-weather states, the probabilities of the climateweather change transitions between the climate-weather states and the mean values of the climate-weather change processes' conditional sojourn times at particular states. Finally, there are predicted the main characteristics of the climate-weather change processes at the distinguished operating area.

At the beginning of the twenty-first century, one of the major challenges of humanity was to reduce the negative effects of civilization development. Besides the engines used in road vehicles there is a large group of engines for non-road applications. This group includes motor propelled vehicles not used on the road NRMM (Non-Road Mobile Machinery). Engines of these vehicles, among all of the non-road applications, are characterized by very specific working conditions that do not allow them to be qualified for propulsion engines. The main problem with these vehicles is the particulate matter and nitrogen oxides emission. The paper presents an analysis of the operating parameters of an engine and exhaust emissions of a tractor operating on a chassis dynamometer. Studies of the tractor involved measurements of engine operating parameters and the concentration of harmful substances in the exhaust gases. Information about the parameters of the engine and the intensity of emissions were obtained during the dynamometer test. The study included a comparative analysis of the operating parameters of the engine obtained from the diagnostic system and direct measurements on a chassis dynamometer and a correction of the torque obtained from the vehicle computer system was made. As a result, values of specific emission during engine tests under varying values of load were determined.

The effect of air flow rate, pulp density and particle size was studied using central composite design for coal samples from the Lazy mine. Evaluation of column flotation tests was based on two dependant variables such as ash content and combustible matter recovery in the concentrate. The ash content in the concentrate was from 4.61 to 9.62% with the recovery of combustible matter from 17.43 to 81.98%. The ANOVA statistical analysis showed that the main effect of air flow rate has a significant impact on the combustible matter recovery and ash content in the concentrate. The main effect of pulp density on the combustible matter recovery is significant, whereas for the ash content it is not seen. There is a strong effect of the particle size on the ash content and combustible matter recovery in the concentrate. The interaction of the effect of the pulp density and particle size has a significant impact on the ash content in the concentrate.

The purpose of the article is to assess to what extent decarbonisation poses an issue for companies operating in Poland. The paper begins with a description of the regulatory frame of ESG reporting which specifies regulatory requirements for companies. This is followed by an assessment of the pace of decarbonisation of companies based on available secondary data and identification of factors that determine the pace of adaptation of Polish companies to EU decarbonisation plans. The analysis shows that companies operating in Poland are not fully prepared for the ESG regulatory frame. Polish conditions may put companies in need of financial, infrastructural and educational support.

The probability that a system is capable to operate satisfactorily significantly depends on reliability and maintainability of a system. The disadvantage of classic methods of system availability determining is that the probability of realizing by system tasks with expected quality depends on history of operational states and does not take into consideration actual operational conditions that have strong influence on risk-degree of down-time occurring, while the probability of degradation failure in exploitation system is a function of operating time and actual exploitation conditions. The problem of failures prediction can be solved by applying in diagnostics methods the intelligent computational algorithms. The intelligence computational methods enable to create the diagnosis tools that allow to formulate the prognosis of operating time of a system and predict of failure occurring based on the past and actual information about system's operational state. The paper presents the fuzzy logic approach to forecast the prognoses of the operating time of the exploitation system or its equipments according to the specified exploitation conditions that characterize the system exploitation state at the current time. The fuzzy system was based on the Takagi-Sugeno-Kang type fuzzy implications with singletons specifies in conclusions of rules. The fuzzy inference system input variables are the assumed parameters according to which the current exploitation state of the considered system can be evaluated.

The issues addressed in this paper concern the effect of pressure in the Common Rail accumulator on the engine operating parameters such as its torque, power output, rotational speed as well as its hourly and specific fuel consumption. Here, the research methods were performed by using the engine test bench strictly in accordance with the specific standards but particularly according to the requirements specified by these standards. The research station was the Fiat Multijet 1.3 JTD engine with turbocharging and direct injection, used as a power unit in the motor cars. Additionally, the experimental tests were run by using also (1) the HP-made measuring set for measurements the high pressure (up to 2,500 bars) in the Common Rail system, and (2) the CDIF/2 diagnostic interface. All relationships are presented in the form of graphs, and what is found here is the increasing linear relationship between the p rail pressure and the engine speed: with an increase in speed comes a decrease in the total injection time. The torque and its power output were a function of both the pressure in the Common Rail accumulator and the speed. It was found that the highest total engine efficiency (fuel consumption per unit) was for the rail pressure ranging from 1,000 to 1,100 bars. The findings come up for discussion about the apt choice of pressure in the rail, together with the total injection time and the turbocharger highest efficiency, for the specified speed of a car power unit.

Control charts are commonly used in plants to monitor the correctness of manufacturing process, due to their simplicity and explicitness of diagnosis. Qualification mistakes make that the signals, appear either with lag, or in case of regulated process. False signals, as well as lack of appropriately early signal make financial loss. The purpose of this article is to pay attention to shaping of middle – operating control costs, especially in case of appearance of qualification mistakes. The accepted hypothesis states that qualification mistakes cause considerable increase in the middle – operating control costs.
Karta kontrolna jest powszechnie stosowana do monitorowania prawidłowości przebiegu procesów produkcyjnych, ze względu na prostotę prowadzenia i jednoznaczność diagnozy. Popełniane błędy obniżają jednak jej skuteczność. Błędne sygnały, jak i brak odpowiednio wczesnego sygnału narażają przedsiębiorstwo na straty. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na kształtowanie się kosztów kontroli międzyoperacyjnej, szczególnie w przypadku występowania błędów kwalifikacji. Postawiona została hipoteza głosząca, iż błędy kwalifikacji przyczyniają się do znacznego wzrostu kosztu kontroli międzyoperacyjnej.
