Opis:
Jan Dorman równolegle z działalnością artystyczną wytwarzał archiwum swojego życia i twórczości, które stanowi obszerny zbiór różnorodnych typów dokumentacji teatralnej i prywatnej. Archiwum otwarte” (2016–2019).
Besides his art practice, Jan Dorman was creating an archive of his life and work, which is a comprehensive collection of various types of theatre and personal documentation. Like Tadeusz Kantor, he dreamed that the collected resources would continue to be used, entering the theatre and research circuit and thus creating a “living archive”. In 2016, Iwona Dowsilas, Dorman’s daughter and promoter of his archives, donated Jan Dorman’s collection to The Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute in Warsaw, which contributed to a three-year project “Dorman. Open Archives” (2016–2019). It was based on the concept of performative archiving, in which archives cease to be a static collection, and can be set in motion and produce separate performances. The idea of performing archives was translated into a collaborative programme involving theoreticians and practitioners of the theatre, which resulted in the intersecting of four fields: issues of theatre documentation, history and theory of the theatre, theatre education and theatre practice. The current issue of Pamiętnik Teatralny is an outcome of annual research residencies (2018), which aimed to analyse selected areas of the previously unrecognized and little-known last decade of Dorman’s theatre practice (1977–1986).

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie „najnowszych” osiągnięć archiwistyki światowej, zwrócenie uwagi na osiągnięcia naukowe, projekty, problemy i wyzwania, które były przedmiotem dyskusji międzynarodowego środowiska archiwalnego podczas konferencji Międzynarodowej Rady Archiwów pt. „Designing the Archive 2019” („Projektowanie archiwum 2019”). Generuje on pewne problemy i wyzwania stojące przed archiwami, ale zarazem stwarza możliwości rozwoju. Artykuł odnosi się również do najnowszych badań naukowych m.in. w zakresie kreowania i wykorzystywania przestrzeni gmachów archiwalnych, projektowania pracowni naukowej i tzw. przestrzeni publicznej w taki sposób, by zaspokoić potrzeby użytkownika XXI w. i przyciągnąć nowego.
The aim of the article is to present the latest achievements of the world archival science and draw attention to academic achievements, projects, problems and challenges which were discussed by the international archive community at Designing the Archive 2019, a conference of the International Council on Archives which took place in October 2019 in Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. Designing archives is not only the main topic of the conference, but also a trend which has become visible in direct actions taken by archives. It generates certain problems and challenges for archives, but also gives them opportunities to grow. Since the article refers in particular to innovations in archives, it discusses solutions adopted e.g. in Norway, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the United States and Australia, and refers also to Costa Rica and China, paying particular attention to innovative working methods in archives, which make use of experiments to design ICT tools, inspire creativity in archive employees and develop IT tools in harmony with people’s needs and expectations, which in practice results in developing special theme applications. The article also makes a reference to the latest research in designing and using the space of archive buildings, as well as designing research laboratories and the public space to satisfy the needs of 21st century users and attract new ones. The article also discusses the role of marketing and digital economy in the functioning of archives in this context. New trends in the world archival science are also silent archives and research on archive trauma, whose foundation is a new approach towards judging the value of documentation, popular in the United States and based on the feminist approach. Silent archives are a difficult subject, but international research shows that archivists meet the needs of the oppressed.

The theatres of Antiquity, Greek and Roman, constitute public buildings of the utmost importance in the history of Western culture and in universal cultural heritage. Many of these spaces are being used for their original function with or without only minor adaptations. If they are well preserved and/or restored, these performance buildings attract large audiences to representations of classical and contemporary plays, thereby serving the purpose for which they were built in the Ancient Age. These theatres bear witness to the existing relationship between architectural work, visual and acoustic experience, and dramatic art. Although the majority are located in the Mediterranean region, these structures were also built in the major cities of the ancient world in Europe, the Middle East, northern Africa, and beyond. This paper aims to summarise and critically review research published in the literature regarding their acoustic aspects, with particular emphasis on Roman theatres. These pieces of research emphasize the importance of the diffraction of sound in the tiers of the cavea and the good intelligibility for speech of the Greco-Roman theatre.

The features of respiratory noises and noises of fins for open-circuit scuba divers, indicating a multipole character of noises emission, are specified in cameral conditions. It demonstrates a possibility to detect low-frequency components of noises of fins with pressure gradient sensor in near field. A possibility of estimating the respiratory rate of an open-circuit scuba diver is demonstrated at distances up to 100 m in real sea. It gives an opportunity of estimating the bearing (time delay in a pair of hydrophones) for the open-circuit scuba diver by respiratory noises at distances up to 150 m in real sea. Thus, low-frequency underwater noises of open-circuit scuba divers may be successfully applied to monitor the safety of diving and to prevent waterside intrusion by trespassers.

Opis:
For studying mechanism of sediment transport in river flows, open channel flow is a prototype. Flow has always three components of velocity for all types of channel geometry and for a time independent uniform flow along streamwise or main flow direction, all the components of velocity are functions of lateral and vertical coordinates. The present study investigates the two dimensional distribution of streamwise (or longitudinal) velocity starting from the Reynolds averaged Navier–Stokes equation for a turbulent open channel flow which is steady and uniform along the main flow direction. Secondary flows both along the vertically upward direction and along the lateral direction are considered which are also taken as functions of lateral and vertical coordinates. Inclusion of the secondary current brings the effect of dip phenomenon in the model. The resulting second order partial differential equation is solved numerically. The model is validated for all the cross-sectional, transverse and centreline velocity distribution by comparing with existing relevant set of experimental data and also with an existing model. Comparison results show good agreement with data as well as with the previous model proving the efficiency of the model. It is found that the transverse velocity distribution depends on the formation of circular vortex in the cross-sectional plane and becomes periodic as the number of circular vortex increases for increasing aspect ratios.

The airflow in the mouth of an open and closed flue organ pipe of corresponding geometrical proportions is studied. The phase locked particle image velocimetry with subsequent analysis by the biorthogonal decomposition is employed in order to compare the flow mechanisms and related features. The most significant differences lie in the mean velocity distribution and rapidity of the jet lateral motion. Remarks on the pressure estimation from PIV data and its importance for the aeroacoustic source terms are made and a specific example is discussed.

The reflection coefficient of the open end belongs among the essential parameters in the physical description of a flue organ pipe. It leads directly to practical topics such as the pipe scaling. In this article, sound propagation is investigated inside an organ pipe with the most intense mean flow that is achievable under musically relevant conditions. A theoretical model is tested against the experimental data to obtain a suitable formula for the reflection coefficient when a non-negligible flow through the open end is considered. The velocity profile is examined by means of particle image velocimetry. A fully developed turbulent profile is found and interactions of the acoustic boundary layer with the turbulent internal flow are discussed. A higher value of the end correction than expected from the classical result of Levine and Schwinger is found, but this feature shall be associated with the pipe wall thickness rather than the mean flow effects.

Opis:
Computational examinations of the flow field in an open channel having a single Backward- -Facing Step (BFS) with a constant water depth of 1.5 m were performed. The effects of the expansion ratio, and the flow velocity along the reattachment length, were investigated by employing two different expansion ratios of 1.5 and 2, and eight various flow velocities of 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7.5 and 10 m/sec in the Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulations. Commercially available CFD software, ANSYS FLUENT, was used for calculations. The simulation outcomes were verified using experimental results. Moreover, analyses were performed by using two equation turbulence closure models, K-ε family (standard, RNG and realizable), and K-ω family (Wilcox’s and SST K-ω). The analyses have revealed that the reattachment length increases with an increase in the expansion ratio, the flow velocity and the Reynolds number. The results obtained for two expansion rates and eight different flow velocities have shown insignificant differences between one turbulence closure model and the others. Furthermore, it was observed that both velocity and expansion ratios have an effect on the reattachment zone size.

Opis:
One of the main issues of design process of HVAC systems and ventilation ducts in particular is correct modelling of coupling of the flow field and acoustic field of the air flowing in such systems. Such a coupling can be modelled in many ways, one of them is using linearised Euler equations (LEE). In this paper, the method of solving these equations using finite element method and open source tools is decribed. Equations were transformed into functional and solved using Python language and FEniCS software. The non-reflective boundary condition called buffer layer was also implemented into equations, which allowed modelling of unbounded domains. The issue, influence of flow on wave propagation, could be adressed using LEE equations, as they take non-uniform mean flow into account. The developed tool was verified and results of simulations were compared with analytical solutions, both in one- and two-dimensional cases. The obtained numerical results are very consistent with analytical ones. Furthermore, this paper describes the use of the developed tool for analysing a more complex model. Acoustic wave propagation for the backward-facing step in the presence of flow calculated using Navier-Stokes equations was studied.

Opis:
The usual cellular pattern of the time averaged secondary flow circulation in the central section of wide open channels shows a distorted (laterally or vertically) structure due to the changes in bed configurations along lateral direction. The structures of these secondary circulations (under different bed configurations) are crucial for different types of hydraulic modeling. This study presents mathematical models of the time averaged secondary velocities (lateral and vertical components) for a turbulence-induced secondary current at the central section of a wide open-channel flow under different types of elevated and non-elevated bed conditions. Starting with the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes equation and using the continuity equation, at first the governing equation of secondary flow velocity is obtained including the effects of the eddy viscosity and viscosity of the fluid. The model equations is solved using a separation of the variable technique imposing the bed perturbation condition. Full analytical solutions are achieved through mathematical analysis using suitable boundary conditions consistent with experimental observations. Initially the models are derived for a non-elevated bedforms comprised of alternating equal widths of smooth and rough bed strips. These models are modified further for bedforms with unequal widths of rough and smooth bed strips and elevated periodic bed structures. Four different types of elevated bed configurations are investigated and a general approach is suggested for other types of bed forms. All the proposed models are validated with existing experimental results to ensure the applicability and in each cases, improved results are observed. Obtained results show that the centre of circulation of the cellular structure occurs above the junction of the rough and smooth bed strips (consistent with experimental observations) and it gradually shifts towards the smooth strip, when the length of the rough bed strip is increased. The shifting as a function shows a non-linear pattern with the length of the rough bed strip. A least-square model is proposed to identify the circulation center as a function of the ratio of rough to smooth bed strips. It is also found that the vertically distorted secondary cells are generated when the bed slope strictly increase/decrease throughout the length of the one whole circulation. Finally, all the proposed models are compared with an existing model and an error analysis is done. Results of error analysis show that the present study can be more suitable as it yields improved results.

Using conformal mapping techniques, analytic continuation and the theory of Cauchy singular integral equations, we prove that a non-parabolic open inhomogeneity embedded in an elastic matrix subjected to a uniform remote anti-plane stress nevertheless admits an internal uniform stress field despite the presence of a finite mode III crack in its vicinity. Our analysis indicates that: (i) the internal uniform stress field is independent of the specific shape of the inhomogeneity and the presence of the finite crack; (ii) the existence of the finite crack plays a key role in the non-parabolic open shape of the inhomogeneity and in the non-uniform stresses in the surrounding matrix; (iii) the two-term asymptotic expansion at infinity of the stress field in the matrix is independent of the presence of the finite crack. Detailed numerical results are presented to demonstrate the proposed theory.

Effects of microstructure factors on the acoustic performance of open-cell foams can be characterized numerically by a microstructure-based approach. To this regard, the numerical homogenization approach and the equivalent-fluid theory are employed to study the acoustic behavior of random open-cell foams within their Voronoi tessellation-based Representative Volume Elements (RVE). As a validation step, the numerical predictions are compared with the reference findings to either verify the finite element procedure or demonstrate that the constructed RVE can capture both the local geometrical characteristics and the acoustic macrobehavior of cellular solid foams. It can be seen from the obtained results that the morphological characteristics of open-cell foams could be controlled to achieve the desired sound absorbing behavior. In addition, the analytical expressions, formulating the relationship between the geometry of foam absorbers and their target absorption performance, are established to design sound absorbing foam layers.

Całość opracowania zmierza do zaprezentowania prawnej ścieżki otworzenia sejfu archiwów dla przyszłej kreatywności i debaty publicznej w sferze kultury z poszanowaniem prawa własności.
The article considers a variety of legal issues concerning effective means of sharing audiovisual programmes which constitute archival goods held (in a proverbial ‘safe’) by the Polish public broadcaster TVP. The paper also addresses the issue of the so-called ‘copyrights revival’ concerning old programmes in the context of its extension to the Internet. The article discusses the use of the ‘Creative Commons’ license type, as a way of taking into account the needs of recipients to access audiovisual culture, as well as ensuring the conditions of the ‘Open Development Code’. Media convergence justifies also the thesis on the disappearance of differences between technical transmission modes and communication to the public over the Internet, and the creation of a single market for audiovisual media services. The article aims to present the legal path to opening the audiovisual ‘safe’ (audiovisual archives of the TVP) to facilitate future creativity, as well as to outline the public debate concerning the sphere of culture on respecting property rights. Key words: transformation, the public media service, archives, collection of programs, material media, intangible goods, intellectual property, TVP, complementary contribution, copyrights revival, digitization, Creative Commons, Creative Archive License, Open Development Code, TVP-COL, convergence.
