As social network sites are becoming more populated and users more diverse, impression management on these sites has become more complicated. Users face challenges as they attempt to perform a unified identity to a diverse audience. The article discusses some of the strategies Hungarian teenage users of Facebook apply to deal with this situation. Drawing on data coming from two focus group interviews and a representative survey (N = 612) with Hungarian secondary school students, strategies of selecting ‘friends’, curating posts, blocking and deleting ‘friends’ and creating double profiles on Facebook are discussed. It is concluded that there are significant differences in the use of these strategies according to different user groups as off-line inequalities influence online impression management in different ways.

This article examines the Competition Laws of the Members States of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). It examines their content, puts all of them under general scrutiny from their enactment until today and compares their basic features to other (developed) competition law jurisdictions, such as EU Competition Law and US Antitrust Law. The article argues the importance of the Advocacy principle in the region and the incentives international organizations (IOs) have induced so far for the development of Competition Law in the GCC Countries, including the link between trade and Competition Law. In today’s economy where online giant companies dominate, where the restrictive conduct among separate independent commercial entities grows immensely, and where mergers do not identify formal state borders, the need for global Competition Law enforcement is indispensable. Therefore, in order to be part of the global competition world, a creation of GCC Competition Law may be considered progressive and advantageous. The article argues the purposes and motivations why such awareness is desirable and provides legislative and normative recommendations on how to accomplish this endeavor.
Cet article examine les lois sur la concurrence des États membres du Conseil de coopération du Golfe (CCG). Il examine leur contenu, les analyse d’un point de vue général depuis leur adoption jusqu’à aujourd’hui et, dans une certaine mesure, les compare aux autres juridictions (les plus développées notamment), telles que la législation européenne sur la concurrence et la législation antitrust américaine. L’article fait valoir l’importance du principe du plaidoyer dans la région, les initiatives que les organisations internationales (OI) ont prises jusqu’ici pour le développement du droit de la concurrence dans les pays du CCG, notamment le lien entre commerce et droit de la concurrence. Dans l’économie d’aujourd’hui – où les géants de l’Internet dominent et les comportements restrictifs entre entités commerciales indépendantes distinctes se multiplient et les fusions n’identifient pas les frontières officielles des États – la nécessité d’appliquer le droit mondial de la concurrence est indispensable. Par conséquent, une création du droit de la concurrence du CCG peut être considérée comme une solution progressive et avantageuse. L’article fait valoir les buts et les motivations pour lesquels une telle prise de conscience est souhaitable et fournit des recommandations législatives et normatives sur la manière dont cet effort doit être accompli.

Modal pseudocomplemented De Morgan algebras (or mpM-algebras) were investigated in A. V. Figallo, N. Oliva, A. Ziliani, Modal pseudocomplemented De Morgan algebras, Acta Univ. Palacki. Olomuc., Fac. rer. nat., Mathematica 53, 1 (2014), pp. 65–79, and they constitute a proper subvariety of the variety of pseudocomplemented De Morgan algebras satisfying xΛ(∼x)* = (∼(xΛ(∼x)*))* studied by H. Sankappanavar in 1987. In this paper the study of these algebras is continued. More precisely, new characterizations of mpM-congruences are shown. In particular, one of them is determined by taking into account an implication operation which is defined on these algebras as weak implication. In addition, the finite mpM-algebras were considered and a factorization theorem of them is given. Finally, the structure of the free finitely generated mpM-algebras is obtained and a formula to compute its cardinal number in terms of the number of the free generators is established. Gothic fiction in Argentina, represented by such famous authors as Borges, Cortazar, Bioy Casares or Silvina Ocampo has its followers in the 21st century. In our paper, we present one of the contemporary authors, Pablo De Santis, born in Buenos Aires in 1963. His novel Los Anticuarios (The Antiquarian) is about vampirism in the Buenos Aires of the 1950s. Following the tradition of Gothic literature, the main character is involved in the lugubrious story of vampires known as the antiquarians. Although these long-lived creatures have adapted to living in our times, they must still feed on blood. However, they prefer a substitute in the form of an elixir which allows them to dominate their victims’ minds. Besides, being victims of unrequited love themselves, just like classic vampires, they have a predilection for female blood. Environmental pollution particularly heavy metal pollution into aquatic ecosystem has led to multiple damage in almost all life forms. Cadmium is one of the priority pollutant listed by United States Environmental Protection Agency or US EPA that widely known to have an adverse effect to organisms as well as human health. One type of organism that is susceptible to the effects of metal pollution is phytoplankton. Phytoplankton is a group of microalgae that are easy to find and are primary producers in aquatic environments. Phytoplankton plays an important role in aquatic ecosystems because they serve as primary producers. They are representing the water total primary productivity and reinforcing the aquatic life on the higher food chain. Thus, any threats that endangered the population of phytoplankton can lead to trophical cascade or even worse, biodiversity loss. The exposure of cadmium in high concentration to phytoplankton can lead to various impact including cell damage and disruption, biosynthesis inhibition of photosynthetic pigment (e.g. chlorophyll and carotenoid), chlorphyll degradation or known as chlorosis, thylakoid membrane degradation, inhibition of cellular metabolism and cell division. It is important to study the impact of cadmium to phytoplankton in a cellular level to better understand what mechanism lies and to what extent that the cadmium will be transferred to higher trophical organism via bioaccumulation or biomagnification.

An overview of assessment strategies in an evidence-based programme aimed at promoting entrepreneurial skills of disadvantaged young people. Key-elements of evidence-based programs are reviewed and the development of a competence questionnaire to fulfil the requirements of assessments of evidence-based programme development practices and research based on Chorpita’s (2003) categorization. The strategies of selecting scales to utilize in content validation of the ten competencies identified are provided. Self-efficacy, assertive behaviour, locus of control scales, as well as the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (Goodman, 1997) have corroborate the content validity of the competency questionnaire by providing strong correlation with required competency sub-scales at a p < 0,01 significance level. On the other hand, two alternative possible explanations are offered why self-esteem scale of Rosenberg (1965) did not provide any correlations.

Nadejście ery Michaiła Gorbaczowa w ZSRR wpłynęło na ocenę Węgierskiego Powstania 56 przez będących u władzy węgierskich komunistów. Dotąd obowiązywał pogląd - jedyny słuszny, że był to kontrrewolucyjny spisek i w czasie rządów Kadara tylko tak można było myśleć i mówić. Oficjalny pogrzeb w 1989 roku straconego 16 kwietnia 1958 roku premiera Imrego Nagy'a i jego współtowarzyszy był przełomem w transformacji ustrojowej na Węgrzech. W 1988 roku na Plenum Komitetu Centralnego WSPR usunięto ze stanowiska sekretarza generalnego Janosa Kadara, podjęto też prace nad programem reform w partii. Powołana Podkomisja Historyczna została upoważniona do zbadania wydarzeń ostatnich czterech dekad i dokonania nowej oceny powstania 1956 roku.

Opis:
Cooking vessels collected during three surveys that took place in 2014 and 2015 around the ancient settlements of Abila, Gadara and Umm al-Jimal in the north of Jordan are the subject of this paper. The fragmentation and poor surface preservation of the sherds from this assemblage resulted in the study being focused on an analysis of clay fabrics in relation to vessel forms and their provenance. An examination of fabrics grouped into wares and cooking vessel forms demonstrated an apparent shift from wares produced in the region around Lake Tiberias, which had dominated at the sites of Abila and Gadara until the 4th century CE, to wares produced most likely in Gerasa. Thus, the results of pottery studies from the three sites located at the core of the Austrian Decapolis survey project shed light on the pattern of changes in regional ceramic trade in the Decapolis and adjoining regions.

The purpose of this paper is to present a theoretical assessment of the existing Law on Personal Data Protection in the Republic of Macedonia. The paper aims to analyse whether there is a need for additional legal tools in order to achieve a balance between maintaining data integrity in the digital age and the use of modern technology. The paper discusses the meaning of “information privacy” in the age of big data, cyber threats and the domestic and international response to these issues. Special focus is dedicated to privacy policy enforcement in European Union Law. Having regard to the development of new technologies, prevailing data protection legislation may no longer be able to provide effective protection for individuals’ personal information. Therefore, existing laws should be continuously adapted to respond to new challenges and situations deriving from different online activities and communications.

Przedmiotem niniejszego tekstu jest refleksja nad minioną i współczesną kulturą baskijską, sytuacją polityczną i społeczną Baskonii w przeszłości i obecnie, a także próba zarysowania możliwych scenariuszy dotyczących jej przyszłości. Jednak punktem wyjścia do tych rozważań musi stać się kwestia podstawowa, choć niejednoznaczna, a mianowicie sama nazwa Kraju Basków i problem jego granic.
{e subject of the article is focused on the past and present political and cultural situation in the Basque Country, acting at the same time attempt to reflect on the future of the region. For this pur-pose, the author referrs to the problem of Basque-Spanish relations, which a difficult past still affects. Particular attention was also paid to the Basque language which is a key element of Basque identity, including linguistic repression and reviving the phenomenon of euskary. She also emphasizes the growing importance of immigrants in the Basque society.

Abstract: Aim: This paper presents a waste stream exploratory study with the purpose of identifying opportunity gaps to reduce environmental and health risks within the household waste stream in a small rural population in Northwestern Mexico by following the waste management hierarchy. Design / Research methods: The study consisted of three phases. Firstly, a one-stage cluster sampling was conducted to characterize the household waste in this rural population. A cluster in this study was a block. There were 54 clusters, but only 40 with occupied houses. The clusters were selected by simple random sampling. During the second phase of this study, a survey was conducted to examine the waste management practices of the residents of sampled houses. Considering that 51 were the habited houses in the sampled clusters, a simple random sampling for finite populations was selected.  Finally, a quadrat sampling method was conducted. The total area of the municipal landfill site was divided into black and white quadrats. The white color was represented by tails while the black color was represented by heads. The color of the sampled quadrats was selected after 50 flip virtual coins for true randomness. Conclusions/findings: Findings in this study indicate the willingness of the inhabitants in this rural location to participate in source reduction initiatives. Findings also showed that organic waste was the predominant material in the household waste composition. Therefore, there are opportunities to enhance composting at home or even implement a community composting program. The riskier situations revealed by this study were observed at the landfill site where air emissions and leachate occurred. Originality/value of the article: Based on the waste stream analysis, there are some opportunities to reduce the environmental and health risks in a small rural zone in Northwestern Mexico. In this regard, this study can serve as an example to analyze and compare sustainable opportunities in other rural zones around the world. Magnetic properties of silicon iron electrical steel are determined by using standardized measurement setups and distinct excitation parameters. Characteristic values for magnetic loss and magnetization are used to select the most appropriate material for its application. This approach is not sufficient, because of the complex material behavior inside electrical machines, which can result in possible discrepancies between estimated and actual machine behavior. The materials’ anisotropy can be one of the problems why simulation and measurement are not in good accordance.With the help of a rotational single sheet tester, the magnetic material can be tested under application relevant field distribution. Thereby, additional effects of hysteresis and anisotropy can be characterized for detailed modelling and simulation.

Objectives: The aim of our study was to investigate a relationship between weekly physical activity and quality of life in elderly women. Methods: Participants were 22 elderly women ≥ 60 years (mean age 66 . 27 ± 4 . 99) with weight ≥ 50kg (mean weight 74.84 ± 14. 87kg) from Nitra. In this pilot study we used 2 questionnaires. The assessment of quality of life (QoL) was conducted by Short - Form General H ealth Survey (SF - 36). To examine weekly physical activity we selected International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Both questionnaires were evaluated separately by standardized scoring manual for SF - 36 and IPAQ. To examine a relationship between r esults of SF - 36 and IPAQ we used non - parametric Spearman's correlation coefficient (r s ). Results: The results from IPAQ show significant relationship between quantity and quality of weekly physical activity and age (r s = - 0. 562). More significant relations hips were found in results from SF - 36. The results showed significant relationship between domain of Vitality (r s = - 0. 508), Social Functioning (r s = - 0. 634), Mental Health (r s = - 0. 537), Mental Health Summary (r s = - 0. 549) and age. There was also signific ant relationship between domain of Vitality (r s = - 0. 598), Mental Health (r s = - 0. 505), Mental Health Summary (r s = - 0. 505) and weight. In this study, the results did not show relationship between weekly physical activity and domains from SF - 36. Conclusion s: According to the results from both questionnaires we follow the age - related decline of weekly physical activity, vitality and mental health. In our study, questionnaires IPAQ and SF - 36 did not show relationship between each other. For the further invest igation we intend to use different questionnaires for elderly people or we could measure the physical activity with pedometer or other new devices which are now available on the market.

At the same time, m-commerce is considered as one of the fastest growing subgroups of e-commerce. Characteristically, it is estimated that about 45% of mobile users have made at least one purchase via a wireless hand-held device. Therefore, it plays and will continue to play a vital role in the global economy. The aim of this research paper is to investigate the perceptions of mobile commerce users focusing on Bulgarian University students. Specifically, it intends to reveal the perceived advantages and disadvantages of m-commerce, the factors that motivate students to make online transactions via a hand-held device, as well as the issues that hinder them from doing so more often. The paper is expected to provide tangible results to both academia and the industry about a developing economy.

In article I propose taking a look at the Mount Ślęża in Poland in the context of Pierre Nora’s lieux de mémoire concept. Ślęża is an important heritage site as although it has been the topic of many studies and scientific investigations, interest in this unusual mountain goes well beyond scientific discourse. This paper focuses on not only what Ślęża meant to prehistoric people but mainly on its contemporary significance, with specific attention to the various functions that it fulfils today. By revealing the breadth of discourses on Ślęża and highlighting its vitality and relevance in the lives of many people, it also attmpts to put forward a dialogue between archaeologists, heritage professionals and groups holding alternative views on the current meaning or role of the Mount Ślęża.

In Hungary the concept of the domestic violence means the abuse of women and children. While the definition and the interpretation of the concept is discussed between the representatives of the feminists and child protection aspect and the other abused members of the family system – older people, men – are given a little attention. In our study we report the results of the researches carried out in the circle of the abused men. Based on our data we submit that the general assumption is not sustainable because the spiritual, psychological violence is primarly the weapon of the abusive women, while physical violence is uncharacteristic for them: one-fourth of the respondents (throwing objects) and one-third of them (fights, bites or scratches) reported about physical violence within a partner relationship (between the insulted people of the two categories the overlap is 90%).

Game theory can be viewed as an important contribution to multi-agent modeling, with widespread applications in economics and other social sciences. This paper presents two distinct approaches to extending – sociologizing – classical game theory: firstly, a system/institutional approach – social science game theory (SGT), and secondly, Erving Goffman’s interactionist approach (I-game theory). The two approaches are presented and compared; they are also contrasted with the classical theory. The article ends by concluding that due to the social science game theory, sociologists and social scientists are no longer forced into the classical straightjacket with its hyper-rationality, anomic players, and the absence of any social fabric (institutional and cultural formations). Moreover, the new game theory offers a reliable toolbox of social science concepts and methods for describing, analyzing, and explaining highly diverse interaction phenomena. We claim that those two approaches have already proved themselves useful for investigating and modeling a variety of interaction processes including cooperation, conflict, and negotiation.

Opis:
Rare-earth permanent magnets are coated in order to avoid corrosion. When considering the rated geometrical properties of a sample, the coating thickness has to be known precisely as it wrongly enlarges the magnetically active volume which in turn affects the accuracy of the measured magnetic properties. In this work, the sensitivity of hard magnetic material property measurements regarding the consideration of different coating thicknesses is evaluated. Moreover, the impact of eddy current effects on the magnetic properties is studied when measuring in an open circuit. Additionally, an outlook for a measurement-based determination of the electric conductivity of permanent magnet samples is given.

Purpose: The presented paper aims to reveal the relationship between emotional intelligence and knowledge sharing of employees of Hungarian organisations. Furthermore, the emphasis is placed on identifying the specific emotional intelligence traits which enable knowledge sharing.Design/methodology/approach: The database includes 215 full questionnaires collected via LimeSurvey system. The research has applied quantitative methodology. After the Hungarian validation of TEIQUe (Petrides, 2009) emotional intelligence measurement and Kankanhalli’s Knowledge Sharing scale (Kankanhalli et al., 2005), correlation analyses have been adopted to test the hypotheses.Findings: Significant positive relationship can be identified between employees’ emotional intelligence and knowledge sharing behaviour. Well-being, emotionality, self-control and sociability as emotional intelligence factors show relation to altruism, loss of knowledge and reputation. Among individual factors, differences can be identified regarding generation and position, while gender and education do not seem to play a significant role in this relationship. Regarding organisational characteristics, differences can be detected according to the size of the organisation.Practical implications: The outcome of the research can help companies, managers and HR specialists to learn how to trigger knowledge sharing behaviour according to gender and position while taking the size of the organisation into consideration.Original value: The original value of the research is that specific emotional intelligence traits have been identified to detect knowledge sharing behaviour regarding individual and organisational characteristics.
