A new mechanics of physical objects with negative mass is proposed. Their properties are explained by the positive inertia of any body with a mass of any sign. Accordingly, the principle of equivalence of inert and gravitational masses has been adjusted. Particles of negative mass repel each other from bodies with a positive mass and attract each other, forming huge islands of negative matter. Such particles are called negaons. The energy and temperature of the negaons are negative.

The temperature dependence of dissociative attachment has been investigated in the temperature range 350-575 K for two freon derivatives 1,1,1-C2H3F2Cl and C2F5Cl using Electron Capture Negative Ion Mass Spectra (ECNI MS). The temperature dependence for 1,1,1-C2H3F2Cl is similar to that observed in the case of CF3Cl reported by Illenberger et al. In contrast, C2F5Cl exhibits quite a different spectrum and its temperature behavior. It has been suggested that sigma*C-Cl delocalization onto two empty orbital leads to Cl- ion formation in two different resonance states.

The gravitational interactions of particles with positive, negative and imaginary masses are considered from the point of view of the Einstein Equivalence Principle (EEP) of inert and gravitational masses, as well as three other possible principles of equivalence based on the equality of the gravitational mass to the inertial mass module. Several interpretations of the imaginary movement are proposed. It is shown that, on the basis of EEP, particles with negative or imaginary negative mass will be scattered, but when they interact with particles of positive mass and with each other, “strings” (“dipoles” or “one-dimensional atoms”) and “multidimensional atoms” can form. On the basis of three other principles of equivalence, the formation of such objects is impossible. Negative masses in these variants form colonies, with acceleration moving away from ordinary positive matter.

We describe a newly constructed dual inlet system and triple collector for precision study of sulfur isotope anomalies, Δ33S, using negative ion mass spectrometry. SO2 gas is admitted to the ion source where it is ionized ether to SO- or S- by low energy electrons (resonant ionization) and the ion beam is analyzed by a single focusing magnetic analyzer. Another gas which can be used for  δ33S and δ34S analysis by negative ion mass spectrometry  is SF6 on mass spectrum of SF5- ions.

The article is focused on a  function of the mass media that stems from the tacit rule that “bad news make good news”. This refers to emphatic coverage of negative events, facts, processes and media violence, which instill fear, insecurity, anxiety, tension in the audience.No mass media make an exception to this trend. One can watch, hear or read coverage such as: “The end of the world has been postponed”, “The flue epidemic this year is expected to be much bigger and worse”, etc.Negative coverage instilling fear and insecurity refers above all to various forms of violence: killings, beatings, psychological harassment, sexual harassment. Fear and insecurity are also engendered by coverage of drug abuse, alcohol abuse, traffic accidents, disasters, failures, abuses related to product quality, prices, expiry dates, financial or document crimes, etc.A  content analysis study of central evening news broadcasts on three of the most widely watched Bulgarian television stations, conducted under the author’s leadership in 2011 and 2012 is used for developing the fear maintenance hypothesis.Most generally, the similarities between the two set of data are the following:– the media inspire fear, anxiety of various kinds, and the feeling that the problems are unsolvable;– violence in the media is shown daily and holds a  relatively high share of the coverage;– the media predominantly inspire pessimism.The author’s thesis is that the mass media maintain people’s fears and anxiety; this is more than a  hypothetic construct. It would be appropriate to designate this as the fear maintenance theory, and place it alongside the theory of cultivation (G. Gerbner), the social learning theory (A. Bandura), etc.

This present paper upholds discursive aspects of image construal in British news media. The term negative image construal is introduced within the framework of World Modelling Theory, developed by the author to explore discourse in terms of representational structures. The objective is to reveal news content that contributes to negative image construal. Discourse-world of information war is characterized as a conceptually complex representational structure, textualized in the British media. It is argued that negative country image of Russia is profiled against a background of discourse-world of information war. This enables media managers to evaluate Russia as adversary of the West. The materials are taken from the “News on the Web” corpus, covering the period of 2010-2018.

Recent years have witnessed an increase of the interest in the studies of the interaction of electrons with biologically relevant molecules. This has been mainly motivated by the seminal work, where it has been demonstrated that low energy electrons can induce single and double strand breaks in DNA in the energy range below the level of ionization. Since the damage profile as a function of electron energy showed pronounced resonances it was proposed that resonant electron capture could occur at particular molecular components of the DNA as the initial step towards strand breaks. From a series of experiments on electron attachment to DNA building blocks (nucleobases, the sugar moiety and the phosphate unit) became obvious that they effectively capture electrons leading to the formation of low energy resonances associated with the decomposition of the corresponding molecule. Recent dissociative electron attachment experiments on an entire gas phase nucleotide 2’-deoxycytidine-5´-monophosphate give also insight into the molecular mechanism involved, which comprises both direct electron attachment to the backbone and transfer of the excess electron from cytosine to the backbone resulting in single strand breaks. The results further allow an estimate of the relative contribution of these different mechanisms to single strand breaks.

Microorganisms synthesize several monomeric chemical structures that are not found elsewhere in nature, e.g. muramic acid (an amino sugar) and D-amino acids (D-alanine and D-glutamic acid) are ubiquitous in bacterial peptidoglycan (PG). Characteristic sugars (e.g. heptoses) and 3-hydroxylated fatty acids are found in the endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide, LPS) of gram-negative bacteria [1]. The best way to protect against environment contamination is microbial control. Methods in current use for monitoring microorganisms mainly include culture and direct microscopy. However, several factors, including samples collection, growth conditions, incubation temperature and interaction between different organisms all affected the culture results. Additionally, culture based methods can detect only viable organisms and they are also time consuming, sometimes taking days or weeks. However, since both living and dead microorganisms express irritating and toxic structures, they should all be taken into consideration. Muramic acid has been suggested for use as a chemical marker in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) determination of bacterial peptidoglycan [2]. While 3-hydroxylated fatty acids are the best proposition for use as a chemical markers in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry determination of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (endotoxin) of gram-negative bacteria in both clinical and environmental samples [38]. Two derivatives have been applied, including the trimethylsilyl (TMS) and pentafluorobenzoyl (PFBO) derivatives [80]. Both derivatives (TMS and PFBO) have been proven suitable for use with GC-ion-trap tandem MS [3]. The aim of our proposition is trial of application of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method as an alternative or complement to culturing, microscopy and other assays for detection, characterization and monitoring of microbial contamination of environment (e.g. water, air, air-conditioning systems), contamination of biochemical and food production chain processes, packaging for foodstuffs etc. by analysis of bacterial 3-hydroxylated fatty acids as a biochemical markers. A method is described for the quantitation of methyl esters of 3-hydroxyacids, markers of bacterial lipopolysaccharide (endotoxin), as trimethylsilyl or pentafluorobenzoyl derivatives using GC/MS method. The described methods are quick and simple, can be applied for monitoring microbial contamination directly, without prior culturing, in complex environmental samples. This method can be also applied for testing processes of cleaning and disinfections on packaging materials or on both packaging materials/foodstuffs in order to decrease their microbial load and thus to ensure better shelf-life. The aim of this study was to use matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) for the identification of coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) isolated from the milk of cows with subclinical mastitis. The study material consisted of 33 isolates of CNS, identified by the results of API Staph tests, obtained from the milk of cows with subclinical mastitis. Based on the spectra analyses, MALDI-TOF MS tests of 33 bacterial samples allowed identification of the microorganisms in 27 cases (81.8%). The most frequent cause of subclinical mastitis was found to be Staphylococcus sciuri (39%), while S. vitulinus was detected in 15% of the milk samples. The results obtained indicate that MALDI-TOF MS can be used for the identification of CNS isolated from bovine mastitis as a method supplementary to biochemical tests.

Przedstawiono układ zależności umożliwiający generowanie strumienia masowego cieczy będącego reprezentacją natężenia wypływającego ze strzyka krowy mleka, opracowany z zastosowaniem równania Bernoulliego. Symulację prowadzono w programie MatlabŽ - Simulink a jej wyniki przedstawiono na wykresach z których wynika, że obliczony strumień masowy cieczy, pozwala obserwować oddziaływanie zwrotne pomiędzy ciśnieniem bezwzględnym a strumieniem masowym w komorze podstrzykowej kubka udojowego.
The paper presents a dependency system enabling the generation of liquid mass stream representing the intensity of milk flowing out of the cow's teat, developed using Bernoulli's equation. The simulation was performed using the MatlabŽ - Simulink program. The results are presented by means of diagrams which show that the calculated liquid mass stream makes it possible to observe the reflexive interaction between absolute pressure and the mass stream in the under-teat chamber of the teat cup.
