Opis:
As several Western Balkans countries aspire to become members of the European Union (EU) in the (near) future, it is interesting to explore to what extent EU territorial trends are adopted in both the official national regulations and spatial planning practice. To do so, we: 1) screen EU territorial policies to elucidate the trends and principles of territorial development, 2) analyse the contents of spatial plans in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 3) compare the practical application of the principles such as decentralisation, diffusion of power, subsidiarity, multi-actorship, synergy, transparency, citizen participation, coordinated action (among various disciplinary bodies), and holistic strategies. The findings show the ineffectiveness of declaratively adopted EU territorial trends against place-based territorial policy approaches.

Opis:
The MEPS (musculoskeletal—eyestrain—psychosocial—stress) study involved an extensive degree of multidisciplinary and multicultural cooperation. The objective was to examine the effects of multiple ergonomic interventions on visual, musculoskeletal, postural, and psychosocial outcomes amongst operators of visual display terminals (VDTs). The inherent complexity of a comprehensive ergonomic investigation requires participation of researchers from a variety of disciplines, as well as comparisons among populations with different geographical and cultural backgrounds. The design and execution of the resulting research protocol presents a number of challenges. This paper discusses the advantages and pitfalls associated with multidisciplinary multinational cooperation. Advantages include the necessity for development of a common language and perspective providing a basis for future collaboration. Pitfalls include logistic and coordination difficulties associated with conducting standardized procedures in different locations, as well as the inherent potential for professional conflict. It is argued that such pitfalls ought to be understood and integrated into the project planning process.

Research objective: The aim of this article is to demonstrate the role and importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in supporting families with school-age children. The research problem and methods: Two research questions were posed in response to the research objective: What is the role of interdisciplinary cooperation for the support of families with school-age children? What are the benefits of interdisciplinary cooperation for the support of families with school-age children? The answers to those questions were obtained through the qualitative method, namely focus group interviews. The process of argumentation: The research process is epistemic and comprises an analysis of the author’s research. It refers to the characteristics of the functioning of families with school-age children and the difficulties and challenges faced by those families. This presentation of the theoretical and research assumptions of interdisciplinary cooperation among family support institutions addresses the need to support families with school-age children. Research results: The analysis of the research data revealed the significant role and benefits of interdisciplinary measures to support families with school-age children. The analysis and synthesis of the literature on the subject and of the author’s research focused on school education and the family support system. Conclusions, innovations, and recommendations: The research presented herein aligns with the recommended development of social policy, including the development for the benefit of the family, for building readiness and openness in the family support services, and for undertaking interdisciplinary cooperation. Another important result of this analysis is recommendations for the effective development of an interdisciplinary model of action in education and family support.

Healthcare systems that utilize available resources and provide the best care and support to its people is considered as one of the most crucial goals of most countries and their Governments. In order to fulfill this goal it is important for different healthcare professionals to work systematically and help each other to maintain health standards for the patient. It is only possible when all the significant professional groups recognize the importance of the resources that are existing in the current healthcare sectors, use them effectively and hence, particularly, role of the pharmacist becomes important. Pharmacist should be valued for the critical part they play in coordinating drug therapy management.

Opis:
The article deals with the prevention of cyber threats to children and adolescents through the cooperation of public institutions, which can be one of the key factors in increasing safety in the virtual world. The purpose of the article is to evaluate the effectiveness of the model of cooperation of local government institutions. The novelty of the research problem lies in the attempt to practically apply the exchange of knowledge and experience between local institutions, with a particular focus on cybersecurity education. The analysis is based on students’ responses from surveys conducted between 2019 and 2021, making it possible to apply quantitative analysis and to characterize the changes in the incidence of cyberthreats. The second research tool is qualitative analysis, through which we can learn about the impact of educational activities on the level of awareness of cybersecurity. The research period has three stages: the first is before the introduction of remote learning, the second is during the pandemic and remote learning, and the third is the return to in-school learning. The research analysis deals with the problem of digital threats that the modern school, with the support of other public institutions, has to face.

Despite many efforts, there is still a serious problem in transferring knowledge from research to business. The problem is especially visible in Poland – the cooperation of R2B is ineffective. We are trying to solve this problem using some IT support. The manuscript presents some solutions developed at the Gdańsk University of Technology. In particular, the platform called “MOST Knowledge” is deeply described. Its layer architecture, and some new services which it offers are shown. A new interdisciplinary approach is proposed to communicate and support the cooperation of these different worlds. Summarizing, a short comparison with other available platforms is included and discussed.

Opis:
Personalised medicine (PM) represents a paradigm shift away from the ‘one size fits all’ approach to the treatment and care of patients with a particular condition, to one which uses emergent technologies such as diagnostic tests, functional genomic technologies, and molecular pathway profiling to better manage patients’ health and employ target therapies. The current challenge for national and regional authorities is to facilitate the shift from a reactive healthcare system based on episodic and acute care models to a personalized health (PH) system that uses preventive and predictive measures, where at-risk individuals are stratified to intervene before the onset of symptoms or risk is predicted using cutting-edge technologies before symptoms appear. While PH is paving the way toward better and more efficient patient care, it still lacks the cooperation and coordination needed to organise the fragmented field, which is a severe drawback to its development and to the placement of effective financial investments. For this reason, it is crucial to direct major efforts towards coordinating and aligning relevant stakeholders across Europe and beyond, creating a participatory approach, building trust, enabling a multi-stakeholder process, and channeling investments towards PH. Thus, Regions4PerMed aims to coordinate regional policies and innovation programmes in PM and PH to accelerate the deployment of PH for patients.
