The work analyses the condition of forty nine trees in Świdnica (in the Lower Silesian Voivodship). The listed trees in this town belong to eighteen species, half of which are native and half foreign to our flora. The vast majority are angiosperms. The majority of the listed trees at Świdnica are English Oak (Quercus robur), the rarest examples include Common Ash (Fraxinus excelsior), Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum), White Mulberry (Morus alba), False Acacia (Robinia pseudoacacia) and Dutch Elm (Ulmus ×hollandica). The majority (59.2%) of the trees are in good health, while 22.4% require urgent arboricultural work.

Opis:
In 2010 in the Oborniki and Ryczywół communes a total of 110 trees-natural monuments, seven tree clusters and one avenue were inventoried, while no monuments of inanimate nature were reported in the area of the study. The survey covered jointly 167 trees of 26 species. The largest number of trees protected as natural monuments were sessile oaks Quercus petraea (28 trees) and English oaks Quercus robur (20). Most trees were of a good health condition. A total of 69 trees had healthy stems and 74 trees had healthy crowns. Among the inventoried trees 11 were dead.

Opis:
Olea europaea is the most emblematic tree of the Mediterranean region. It has been cultivated for about 6000 years for its fruit, oil, wood, and for medicinal and cultural purposes. The research data concerns the monumental olive trees in the region. The oldest and biggest known trees are in Lebanon, Israel, Greece, Albania and Italy. The oldest of those, ‘Sisters of Noahʼ (Lebanon) are believed to be 5000–6000 years old. The most numerous groups of monumental olives were reported from Apulia in Italy and Albania. The oldest and biggest olive trees could be remnants of ancient plantations from the Hellenic and Roman times, but this hypothesis should be confirmed in a detailed study.

The paper presents results of a survey of natural monuments and monumental trees in the Góra county, Poland. During the field research it was found that there are 32 monuments of nature in the commune of Góra, five objects in the Jemielno commune, five objects in the Niechlów commune, and 46 monuments of nature in the Wąsosz commune. A total number of 93 trees were inventoried – 80 individual trees and one avenue. Six trees could not be found due to lack of information about their location. The health condition of most of the monuments can be considered as very good, most of the trees have minor damage to the branches. Nevertheless, there are specimens with worse health, and even a few are dead. Seventhy six monuments of nature of the Górowski commune are native species, among which the most common are pedunculate oaks (53 trees). The tree with the largest circumference of 819 cm. is a plane tree (monument of nature No. 351, Lechitów, Wąsosz commune). Numerical changes were noticed in the case of the platane alley in Ślubów and two other monuments of nature. There are no monuments of inanimate nature in the Górowski commune. There are 28 individual trees eligible for protection under the monument of nature.

The data of monitoring of natural monuments in the Jasienica and Jaworze communes (Silesian Voivodeship) deriving from 1999, 2008 and 2019 were compared between the periods and communes. The conducted studies involved determining metric data (including tree height and diameter at breast height – DBH) and assessing health condition of monumental trees. A total of 65 trees were included in the research from 2019, dominated by Quercus robur (28 specimens) and Tilia cordata (9). The health condition of trees was the result of the damage that occurred. Monumental trees in the Jasienica commune were characterized by average (60%) or poor (40%) health condition. In the Jaworze commune, merely 14% of trees have poor state of health. The remaining trees were in average (38%), satisfactory (26%) and good (22%) health condition.

Opis:
Juniperus communis (common juniper) is a shrub or small tree. Tree-like junipers are rare but important landscape elements. Even the largest junipers are rarely older than 100–120 years old. We would like to show some data on probably the oldest and by far the largest common juniper in Poland, blown down in 1957. It grew in village of Neple, in the park of the Bug and Krzna rivers (52.126°N, 23.517°E). Its age was estimated at c. 300 years, and it attained more than 10 m in height and c. 3 m circumference at 1.3 m above ground level. It was found that the basal part of the trunk was rotten inside, which makes it impossible to determine its exact age. The trunk with its main boughs was transported to the Kórnik Arboretum, conserved and preserved in the form of a monument until today. To our best knowledge, it was the largest common juniper in Poland and the second largest in Europe.

Pomnik przyrody to jedna z dziesięciu form ochrony przyrody w Polsce. Według Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego obecnie jest ich na terenie kraju 35094. Wśród nich wyróżnia się pomnikowe drzewa, źródła, wywierzyska, wodospady, skałki, jary, jaskinie. Spośród prawnie chronionych obiektów drzewa stanowią najliczniejszą grupę (94,40%). Są to pojedyncze drzewa, grupy drzew, aleje. Sędziwe drzewa oraz związane z nimi tajemnicze historie, wierzenia i legendy mogą stać się zasobem interesującym turystów. Czasem mogą stanowić przyrodniczą wizytówkę miejscowości, być istotnym elementem jej promocji. Turystyka stwarza człowiekowi dogodne warunki do poznawania wartości, odbierania różnego rodzaju treści poznawczych i estetycznych. Drzewa, jako element naturalnego krajobrazu, wśród bogactwa zasobów przyrodniczych mogą stać się również podstawą rozwoju turystyki edukacyjnej. W niniejszej pracy zostaną przedstawione przykłady i możliwości turystycznego wykorzystania drzew pomnikowych występujących na terenie Państwowego Gospodarstwa Leśnego „Lasy Państwowe” (PGL LP) jako obiektów dziedzictwa przyrodniczego, i kulturowego.
The monuments of nature are the one of ten forms of protection of nature in Poland. In according to Main Statistical Office is them on terrain of country 35094. Among them the monumental trees, waterfalls, canyons and caves of source. Trees make up are the most numerous group (94,40%) from among legally protected objects. They are individual trees, group of trees, alleys. Old trees as well as connected with them mysterious histories, belief sand legends can stand with interesting tourists supply. They can make up the natural visiting-card of locality, essential element of his promotion. The trees, as element of natural scenery, among wealth of natural supplies can stand with basis of development of educational function tourism also. The examples in present introduced and the possibility of touristic use of monumental trees of The State Forests National Forest Holding terrain as objects of natural, historical and cultural heritage.
