Opis:
An experimental investigation of a high power millimetre wave pulse sensor is presented. Two groups of sensors with a flat frequency response were fabricated according to results of the optimisation. The frequency response and voltage standing wave ratio were measured and compared with results of the electrodynamical simulations. The largest measured sensitivity variation of the best sensors within waveguide frequency range was±8%. The reasonable agreement between measured and simulated values of the sensitivity was obtained.

Opis:
The influence of higher order fiber dispersions (like chromatic dispersion and dispersion slope) on the optical millimeter-wave generation is studied. Optical sideband suppression ratio and radio frequency spurious suppression ratio are given and discussed. Moreover, the mathematical results of the proposed model are verified by experiments and numerical simulations.

Opis:
The design of a new chirped pulse, Fourier-transform microwave spectrometer for recording broadband rotational spectra of supersonic expansion samples is described. The spectrometer can record spectral windows of width of up to 2.2 GHz over the 2-18 GHz frequency region. It is complemented by a new FFT program with several novel features. Tests of the spectrometer revealed the presence of an initially unknown volatile trace molecule in a sample of 2,2-dichloropropane (DCP). The broadband nature of the new spectrometer allowed rapid assignment of the new species as 2-chloropropene, CH₃CCl=CH₂ (2CP). Additional mm wave measurements combined with analysis of previous DCP spectra up to 311 GHz allow us to report the hitherto most precise spectroscopic constants for 2CP.

Opis:
Nowadays, there is a trend to employ adaptive solutions in mobile communication. The adaptive transmission systems seem to answer the need for highly reliable communication that serves high data rates. For efficient adaptive transmission, the future Channel State Information (CSI) has to be known. The various prediction methods can be applied to estimate the future CSI. However, each method has its bottlenecks. The task is even more challenging while considering the future 5G/6G communication where the employment of sub-6 GHz and millimetre waves (mmWaves) in narrow-band, wide-band and ultra-wide-band transmission is considered. Thus, author describes the differences between sub-6 GHz/mmWave and narrow-band/wide-band/ultra-wide-band channel prediction, provide a comprehensive overview of available prediction methods, discuss its performance and analyse the opportunity to use them in sub-6 GHz and mmWave systems. We select Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) as the most promising technique for future CSI prediction and propose optimising two of its parameters - the number of input features, which was not yet considered as an opportunity to improve the performance of CSI prediction, and the number of hidden layers.
