Opis:
The engine is the most important component of a vehicle. It attaches to the main frame via the engine mounting bracket which supports weight and operating loads. The engine mount therefore plays a crucial role in the durability and comfort of the vehicle. This article contributes to the search for the most optimal model from the point of view of resistance, environmental impact, and manufacturing cost. This involves, on the one hand, optimizing the support by reducing its initial mass by 30%, and on the other hand, seeking suitable material and manufacturing process with the least environmental impact. To this end, topology optimization will be combined with an environmental assessment and a manufacturing cost analysis. Four materials will be tested and evaluated. Finally, a cost analysis will present a comparison between a conventional process and 3D printing.

In the paper a method is presented of the best variant selection of a manufacturing process of a rotor to open end spinning machine with use of original optimization proceeding based on adopted criteria, taking into consideration their importance. Unit manufacturing cost and five criteria of manufacturing quality were taken as criteria to the assessment. The assessment criteria resulted from calculations and measurements were normalized. Knowledge of experts was used to determine importance of the criteria taken to the assessment. Each from the experts had built his own importance matrix of the assessment criteria, comparable in pairs, using the Saaty’s method. The weights of individual criteria were determined on the basis of cumulative matrix. In the next stage of the proceeding, normalized decisions were created by raising each assessment to a power equal to corresponding weight. In the last stage of the proceeding, a single optimal ordering comprising the smallest s-th components of the individual decisions d1, d2, …, dm was created. A variant which corresponds to the largest component of the optimal ordering is assumed as the best variant.

Opis:
Kodeks cywilny definiuje dwa rodzaje rozliczenia: ryczałtowe i kosztorysowe.
Some contracts, like the one for construction works are legally required to be in written form. One of such important aspects is a detailed settlement of performed works. The Civil Code defines two types of such choice: lump sum remuneration or remuneration by cost estimation. Both options have advantages and disadvantages. In case of a lump sum contract, a higher risk is borne by the contractor and lower by the contractee. The investor can expect that regardless of the amount of additional works, not provided in the contract, the amount that he will have pay to the contractor will not exceed the amount specified in the document. When it comes to remuneration by cost estimation – remeasurement – constructor’s risk is much lower than in case of a lump sum contract.

Opis:
The category of the manufacturing cost of a product is one of the most important ones from the point of view of proper valuation of the assets of a production unit, costs of its operations as well as pricing decisions. This article presents the problem of determining the manufacturing cost of a product in terms of balance sheet law. It has been shown that in order to determine this value various methods and options are allowed by this law, by means of which different values of manufacturing cost of a product are obtained. The importance of a proper selection of an allocation key in settlement of indirect production costs has been highlighted as well as the results of using, in certain cases, approved simplifications in the balance sheet law when determining the manufacturing cost of products have been demonstrated. The problem presented in this article is crucial from the point of view of an organization and management of production as well as managerial decision‐making in a company in the area of design of products and processes.

The paper presents Pareto-optimum method and POLOPT computer program enabling, with the use of principle of conversation with computer, assessment of solutions (variants) in the view of two or more criteria (up to 10). The Pareto-optimal set is univariate in a few cases only, and therefore, in remaining cases to selection of the best solution from this set one proposed the distance function. The chosen procedure of the multicriteria optimization was tested on the example of selection of the best variant of the manufacturing process of rotors to the open end spinning machine.
The pre-operative preparation of a surgeon is increasingly often extended to individual patient’s anatomical models depicting the affected organ and the existing lesion in relation to the surrounding structures (e.g. blood vessels). Among the models, there are models of the skeletal system, in which the FFF technology is used. The models of parenchymal organs are more difficult to reproduce due to the material limitations in the FFF technology, which is why alternative technologies such as PolyJet and SLA are used. Due to the high price of models, they are employed less frequently, especially in the Polish hospitals. The research presented in the article deals with the modification of the existing methodology of rapid pre-operative models production with the use of various low-budget rapid manufacturing techniques, which use materials of low hardness, similar to the human soft tissues. The aim was to create a methodology and determine the parameters of materials that allow for the cheap production of functional pre-operational aids.

Opis:
In today's business environment enterprises are trying to establish reorganization changes in their work and organization. It is necessary to structure the existing business to understand all enterprise functions, and change them in order to achieve the main enterprise objectives. To stay competitive under new conditions the external and internal factors should be assessed before restructuring of existing practices. The goal of this paper is to show how to put into practice the process of transition from Small-sized enterprise to Medium-sized enterprise category. For this purpose the existing company data that is stored in the ERP system should be transformed into knowledge. In this paper we consider the conditional "Metal Service" enterprise that produces various metal constructions and plans to produce load lifting equipment (jib cranes, overhead cranes, and additional equipment for existing cranes) for manufacturing enterprises that produce heavy products. The manufacturing capacities of enterprise are defined based on IDEF0 functional model created for each type of product. The simulation results received from these models enables to analyse new production processes, to estimate production time and route for all type of unit and yearly product release. In addition, after the Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) methodology and Relationship Matrix (RM) was applied to simulation results it became possible to calculate new manufacturing area, facilities layout and to assess the new production capacities.

The use of 3D printing technology allows to make simple machine parts including agricultural machinery in home conditions using FDM printers. Printing technology can be used to produce machine components that are subject to accelerated wear or variable strains that damage them. It is an alternative to parts made of plastics whose cost is significant and the availability is limited. The article presents an analysis of the quality of printed elements and the cost of their production from one of the most commonly used printing material which is ABS. The FENDT 412 Vario tractor engine cover latch assembly was analyzed. The results of the research indicate the possibility of using 3D printers for the production of agricultural machine parts in the home conditions. Elements with the required shape and strength were obtained at much lower production costs.

The aim of the article is to present a proposal and discuss the production cost calculation procedures based on data collected during manufacturing process, according to standard SPC control chart evaluation. It is applied as a tool to support the process of continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and improve profitability by reducing the cost of production. Research methodology - the study uses the results of a literature review on the issue of cost analysis and their modeling. Key elements are the main cost components, but also those that are considered less important and may be overall decisive. Application of Statistical Process Control - as a method of data collection for cost modeling to improve overall cost structure is proposed. Originality/value - the considerations presented in the study may be the basis for determining the key components of the cost of production. The proposed simulation model allows for the determination of the main quality cost factors. This, in turn, should allow to define the main directions of searching for the optimization of the product cost in order to achieve the expected level of cost and quality.

Opis:
World Class Manufacturing system consists of ten technical and ten managerial pillars. These, impacting directly and indirectly on each other, generate the flow of internal processes. Two of the mentioned pillars, Early Product Management (EPM) and Cost Deployment (CD) play a special role in the system, because they create a future strategic management of a company influencing design engineering, manufacturing and economy [1, 2]. Referring to the author’s previous publications on Early Product Management methodology [3, 4], the role of Cost Deployment pillar in the new product launch remains an important issue. Additionally, there is a noticeable lack of publications in this specific field of the WCM system. Therefore, a proper understanding of the relationship between these two technical pillars is the basis for effective project management for the implementation of new products. In this article, the correlation between EPM and CD will be highlighted whereas some critical remarks will be indicated. The main part of the article will describe: the current approach to project management according to the standards set by the WCM system and recommended improvements originated from EPM and CD pillars. The quality scientific methods used in this article are based on a case study of internal processes in an international plant specializing in agriculture machinery production and include elements of direct observation and theoretical analysis and synthesis. This paper refers to the presented issues in practical terms on the example of the methodology of managing of new launch product projects in terms of cost management. The purpose of this paper is to draw attention to the problem of the cost factor generated during the design phase and early implementation of the new product into production, which will enable effective cost management of new implementation projects.

Opis:
The first-priority directions for modern engineering, especially for multiproduct manufacturing, include the intensification of manufacturing processes, increasing the efficiency of technological equipment, and reducing the time required to implement technological solutions. Fixture design is a complicated and time-consuming process that requires considering many parameters of the closed-loop technological system “machine tool — fixture — cutting tool — workpiece”. One machined part can have several fixture layouts corresponding to all specified parameters; however, their effectiveness differs depending on production conditions. Search for an optimal fixture for specified production conditions is an essential stage of production planning. It has been proved that the efficiency of a manufacturing process should be assessed using single economic indicator — the cost of machining, which considers the costs of time, the total costs for process realisation, and a batch of parts. The paper aims to substantiate the efficiency of manufacturing processes in machining complex parts using flexible fixtures by developing a mathematical model that considers the cost of time, the cost of implementing the manufacturing process, and the batch value of parts production. This approach estimates the efficiency of manufacturing processes for machining complex parts and choosing the flexible fixture layout that corresponds to specific production conditions. It was proved that flexible fixtures could be effectively used for machining small batches of parts with frequent readjustments to new workpieces and short-term machining. A tendency has been established that the higher number of nomenclature of parts contributes to expanding the scope of the effective use of flexible fixtures.

The objective of this research is to propose an indicator to assess and rank environmental problems caused by production within the food manufacturing sector of Thailand. The factors used to calculate the real benefit included the costs of natural resources, energy and transportation, fertilizer and pesticides, and sanitary and similar service. The highest environmental cost in terms of both natural resources materials and energy and transportation was ice, while the highest environmental cost for fertilizer and pesticides was coconut and palm oil. Confectionery had the highest environmental cost for sanitary and similar services. Overall, real estate gained the highest real benefit, while repair not classified elsewhere had the lowest real benefit for the company. If Thailand uses an indicator of environmental harm, especially within the food manufacturing sector, it could help to formulate efficient policies and strategies for the country in three areas of development, which are social, economic, and environmental development.

Inventory management’s fundamental problem starts with maintaining equilibrium among the operating efficiency, cost of investment, and other allied costs with extensive inventories to keep the actual conflicts at the minimum while optimizing the inventory holding levels. But, inventory management practices have not been well exploited in various manufacturing industries yet. In this study, inventory management tools, i.e., ABC and VED analysis, have been applied in the manufacturing industry, considering 146 items as raw material for an assembly. A total of 15 items under ‘AV’ class have been identified that consume 82.05 % of the total cost, and these items need strict control and frequent ordering. Sigma level of suppliers is also calculated, which comes out to be 2.36, and it must be improved to reduce the overall inventory cost.

Opis:
Modern manufacturing entities often operate in capital groups, and their role is sometimes limited to the function of cost centers. From the legal point of view, however, they are separate entities obliged to apply transfer pricing regulations. Meeting the requirements of the arm's length principle can be very difficult at this time, given the relationships and conflicts of interest in the capital group. Complexity increases in capital groups operating in different countries, due to differences in tax regulations. The main purpose of the paper is to demonstrate that the need to valuate the sale of finished goods to a manufacturing entity, which is a subject to a different tax jurisdiction, may lead to a problem of compliance with the arm's length principle. In addition, the paper proposes a methodology for comparability analysis that may be used by manufacturing entities to defend conditions of setting transfer pricing. The paper presents the different functional profiles of manufacturing entities and points out the difficulties that they may encounter when preparing the comparability analysis. It has also been noted that there are differences in transfer pricing regulations in different countries, for example by analyzing Polish and Czech regulations. The lack of uniform benchmarking legislation can cause inconsistencies in the selection of comparable data, resulting in differences in transfer pricing. The paper uses the method of legal regulation review and analysis of results of published studies concerning the scope of transfer pricing and comparability analysis. The paper also adopts a case study analysis.

Opis:
Titanium alloys are mainly used in the automotive, aviation, shipbuilding and military industries. Their main advantages are low specific gravity, resistance to cracking and corrosion, high strength as well as fatigue strength. The most important disadvantages of titanium alloys include low thermal conductivity, difficulties in their machining and high cost of manufacturing. For the latter reason, titanium alloys are primarily used for the manufacturing of highly responsible components, such as implants and aviation structures, while the remaining products are produced in limited series. In the appropriate conditions, many titanium alloys can be formed in hot working processes. At present, in the processes of manufacturing structural elements of titanium alloys, a semi-finished products obtained by the casting method are commonly used. However, more and more research is being carried out on the use of powder metallurgy based material in this field. This approach opens up the possibility of decreasing production costs. As initial material, the alloy powders or mixtures of elemental powders can be used. The properties of alloy powder products are usually high and stable, however, the cost of powder production is high. Obtaining product from titanium alloys based on a powders mixture is relatively simple and significantly cheaper. The disproportion of prices causes, that a great number of research projects realized in recent years in the field of implementation of powder metallurgy for manufacturing titanium-based products is directed towards the use of powder mixtures since this approach gives real chances for the successful implementation of cost effective titanium alloys processing technology.
Do wad stopów tytanu można zaliczyć niską przewodność cieplną, skomplikowaną obróbkę mechaniczną i wysokie koszty produkcji.
