This article addresses the issue of the Pick By Line Process used by the logistics company, with the impeachment application, that is the improvement implementation in the PBL distribution channel, by developing the system solution to ensure a uniform distribution of the assortment line in the absence of 100% of assortment by the supplier, in order to improve the product availability for the customers in the aforementioned situation. In the logistics company, the modern solutions were used to monitor the functionality of limiting the stock status of goods, as well as of increasing the warehouse capacity in the number of the assortment lines. The method of quantitative observation was used to develop the program concept at the aforementioned workstation based on available literature.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a relatively new method, a nonparametric technique used nowadays to evaluate the efficiency of the Decision-Making Units. Using this method, the Decision-Making Units can be compared between each other and the most effective ones can be found. Using the DEA method, the performance of a logistic company with twelve warehouses as DMUs is evaluated in this paper. "DEA Excel Solver" user program was used to solve the problem.

The paper presents issues related to integrated IT systems, which are used in the management of many enterprises, including those dealing with logistics. The source of materials was a literature review. The study is a review. The evolution of the approach from MRP systems to integrated MRP II and from ERP to ERP II respectively is shown. The systems cooperating with ERP, such as CRM, SCM and WMS are also presented. Finally, important aspects related to the implementation of integrated ERP class IT systems are presented.

Each primary model of the linear programming problem has a corresponding dual model. It is widely accepted that the simplex method, in addition to determining the optimal solution for the original problem, also allows specifying a solution to the dual problem. So far, the dual problem solution has mainly served the post-optimization procedure, i.e. the analysis of modification of the primary model [20, 21, 27, 28]. However, the dual model itself is not generally subject to a deeper study and no conclusions are drawn from its full analysis. The lasting and prominent place that the classic transportation model takes, requires also to be complemented through the full development of its dual problem interpretation, including post-optimization problems. This paper presents and, for the first time, widely interprets the dual model for the classic model of the transportation problem. Moreover, potential possibilities connected with the use of ambiguities of the obtained solutions to the dual problem have been shown. It has been pointed out how these capabilities can be applied to a flexible financial policy of a logistics company.

Działania w ramach społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu są prowadzone przez przedsiębiorstwa w coraz szerszym zakresie. Również dla przedsiębiorstw sektora TSL, CSR staje się coraz ważniejszym kierunkiem rozwoju. Odkrywany jest potencjał działań społecznie ukierunkowanych i nowe pola oddziaływania CSR. Kluczowym polem oddziaływania społecznej aktywności stał się marketing. W artykule pokazano, w jaki sposób działania CSR pełnią rolę narzędzi marketingowych. Przedstawiono obszary działań CSR z uwzględnieniem specyfiki sektora TSL. W części empirycznej scharakteryzowano działania CSR stosowane przez liderów logistycznych, takich jak Schenker, DHL.
Corporate social responsibility is now the leading strategy that realizes more and more companies, regardless of industry. Also for logistics companies CSR plays an important role, becoming not only the direction of development and improvement, but also is an important factor of competitiveness. In this paper the author wants to think about, which CSR activities plays the role of the marketing tools, which is the field of their impact, and what may be their potential effectiveness. In the empirical part the author will examine some of CSR activities used by logistics leaders, such as Schenker, DHL, to show their marketing dimension.

In this study, we consider a technology selection problem in maritime logistics based on lifespan, brand value, maintenance, repair, operations and cost. Low cost, acceptable risk, and environment friendly form of transportation are primarily required for the logistics sector. In a conventional holistic approach, technology is firstly selected in terms of its cost. However, in the step-wise manner, it is obvious that other factors (i.e. reliability, sustainability, etc.) directly involve in to the selection process. By using conventional AHP method, we investigate the general tendency of the ship owners and its reflections to the maritime logistics.

W aktualnych warunkach funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstw relatywnie ważna jest elastyczność podsystemu zaopatrzenia rozumiana jako skłonność, podatność, gotowość i zdolność do dokonania wielowymiarowych zmian w jego zakresie w cyklu życia systemu logistycznego przedsiębiorstwa. Stało się to przesłanką wyboru celu niniejszego referatu, który sprowadza się do opisania zmian ewolucyjnych i rewolucyjnych jako siły sprawczej elastyczności podsystemu zaopatrzenia w ujęciu teoretycznym i empirycznym. Autorka w referacie wychodząc od charakterystyki zmiany poprzez koncepcyjne ramy zmian ewolucyjnych i rewolucyjnych zaprezentowała koncepcję elastyczności podsystemu zaopatrzenia oraz wyniki badań empirycznych. Przy realizacji wyżej wymienionego celu autorka posłużyła się przede wszystkim metodą opisu i analizy krytycznej materiału pozyskanego w wyniku studiów literatury przedmiotu i z przedsiębiorstw. Przyjęta metodologia badań umożliwiła zebranie i przeanalizowanie materiału dotyczącego wykorzystania zmian ewolucyjnych i rewolucyjnych do kreowania elastyczności podsystemu zaopatrzenia stanowiąc tym samym odpowiednią podstawę procesu wnioskowania.
In actual functioning conditions of enterprises very significant becomes the flexibility of their provision subsystem understood as tendency, susceptibility, readiness and ability to accomplish the changes in various dimensions in the range of the provision subsystem during the life cycle of logistic system of enterprises. This became the main goal of this article which characterise the revolution and evolution changes in provision sub-system as the power of its flexibility in theoretiical and practical aspects. In the paper, the author started by presenting the characterictics of changes through the conceptual frame of the revolution and evolution changes in provision subsystem of enterprises and ended with the presentation of empirical research. To gain this aim author has used the method of description and critical analysis of material based on literature studies and enterprises. The accepted methodology made possible the collection and analysis of material concerning make use of revolution and evolution changes to create flexibility of the provision subsystem which was the base for the conclusions.

Celem artykułu jest analiza i ocena działalności inwestycyjnej przedsiębiorstw logistycznych w Polsce. W opracowaniu wykorzystano publikowane dane GUS charakteryzujące funkcjonowanie przedsiębiorstw logistycznych w latach 2010–2017, w szczególności ich aktywność w obszarze inwestycji w środki trwałe. Przeprowadzona analiza została oparta na wybranych wskaźnikach ekonomicznych dot. działalności inwestycyjnej. Wykorzystano m.in. takie zmienne jak wartość i dynamikę nakładów na zakup środków trwałych oraz wskaźniki intensywności inwestowania.
The aim of the article is to analyze and evaluate the investment activity of logistics companies in Poland. In the publication used published GUS data characterizing the functioning of logistics companies in 2010–2017, in particular their activity in the area of investment in fixed assets. The empirical analysis were based on selected economic indicators: the rate of investment intensity, the value of capital expenditures for the purchase of fixed assets dynamics of this value.

This article describes issues related to Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as well as multivariate DEMATEL analysis tool. It presents a process of Balanced Scorecard implementation in logistics companies, including the DEMATEL method and the changes within the enterprise as well as changes of information systems in place. Moreover, a set of exemplary KPI indicators based on Balanced Scorecard are suggested. This article can be useful to people from the TSL industry, interested in current directions of ERP class software development for logistics.

Dokonano również sprawdzenia, czy w obszarach dobrych praktyk pojawiają się nisze, które mogą stać się kartą przetargową dla mniejszych firm logistycznych, które pragną rozpocząć swoją działalność w obszarze CSR.
The article presented the analysis of progress CSR good practices areas in logistic companies. Authors considered areas of good practices, which were reported by DB Schenker and Raben Group to “Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices” from 2010 to 2014. The authors also verified the occurrence of niche in logistic CSR areas, which could be used by the other companies that starts their CSR activities.

Opis:
Logistics service providers offer a whole or partial logistics business service over a certain time period. Between such companies, the effectiveness of specific logistics services can vary. Logistics service providers seek the effective performance of logistics service. The purpose of this paper is to present a new approach for the evaluation of logistics service effectiveness, along with a specific computer system implementing the proposed approach - a sophisticated inference system, an extension of the Mamdani probabilistic fuzzy system. The paper presents specific knowledge concerning the relationships between effectiveness indicators in the form of fuzzy rules which contain marginal and conditional probabilities of fuzzy events. An inference diagram is also shown. A family of Yager’s parameterized t-norms is proposed as inference operators. It facilitates the optimization of system parameters and enables flexible adjustment of the system to empirical data. A case study was used to illustrate the new approach for the evaluation of logistics service effectiveness. The approach is demonstrated on logistics services in a logistics company. We deem the analysis of a probabilistic fuzzy knowledge base to be useful for the evaluation of effectiveness of logistics services in a logistics company over a given time period.

The article attempts to present, on the basis of the existing survey research (questionnaires and interviews), subject literature, internet data as well as personal experiences and observations of the author (an employee of an international transport and logistics company), the general data regarding the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the functioning of transport, freight forwarding and logistics companies (referred to as TFL companies) and, additionally, the responses of these companies to the pandemic crisis. The choice of this subject was made on the general assumption that the influence of the coronavirus pandemic on the functioning of TFL companies has not been uniform. And although, unquestionably, its most perceptible, negative and destructive force predominates, the existence of a positive impact, as a factor that accelerates and revives company development, is not impossible.
Głównym zamierzeniem artykułu jest próba przedstawienia na podstawie istniejących badań sondażowych (ankiet i wywiadów), literatury przedmiotu, materiałów internetowych oraz własnych doświadczeń i obserwacji jako pracownika międzynarodowej firmy transportowo-logistycznej, ogólnych danych dotyczących wpływu pandemii na działalność przedsiębiorstw z branży TSL (Transport, Spedycja, Logistyka) oraz reakcji firm wobec pandemicznego kryzysu. Podejmując powyższą problematykę, autorka wychodzi z ogólnego założenia, że wpływ koronawirusa na funkcjonowanie firm z branży TSL był niejednorodny. I choć bezsprzecznie dominuje negatywne, destrukcyjne jego działanie, i jest ono najbardziej widoczne i odczuwalne, to jednak nie wyklucza się jego pozytywnego wpływu, jako czynnika przyśpieszającego i ożywiającego rozwój firm.
