W artykule zaproponowano klasyfikację modeli biznesowych przedsiębiorstw branży TSL (transport, spedycja, logistyka) działających w Polsce. Wyjaśniona została definicja modelu biznesowego i różnica między modelem a strategią przedsiębiorstwa. Omówiono wyróżnione typy modeli biznesowych i ich elementy składowe. Dokonana została systematyka modeli, na podstawie przyjętej klasyfikacji, wraz ze wskazaniem najbardziej typowych dla branży TSL kierunków rozwoju.
Critical questions of the article to be answered include: What are the typical business models for the Polish T&L sector?, What are their features? What do they consist of? This article addresses the first question above by providing a framework for the classification of the T&L business models. This concept is a basis for further in-depth analysis of the T&L companies in Poland.

In the modern world the alternative energy sources, which considerably depend on a region, play more and more significant role. However, the transition of regions to new energy sources lead to the change of transport and logistic network configuration. The formation of optimal core transport network today is a guarantee of the successful economic development of a region tomorrow. The present article studies the issue of advanced core transport network development in a region based on the experience of European and Asian countries and the opportunity to adapt the best foreign experience to Russian conditions. On the basis of artificial intelligence methods for forest industry complex of Sverdlovskaya Oblast the algorithm of problem solution of an optimal logistic infrastructure allocation is offered and some results of a regional transport network are presented. These methods allowed to solve the set task in the conditions of information uncertainty. There are suggestions on the improvement of transport and logistic network in the territory of Sverdlovskaya Oblast. Traditionally the logistics of mineral fuel plays main role in regions development. Actually it is required to develop logistic strategic plans to be able to provide different possibilities of power-supply, flexible enough to change with the population density, transport infrastructure and demographics of different regions. The problem of logistic centers allocation was studied by many authors. The approach, offered by the authors of this paper is to solve the set of tasks by applying artificial intelligence methods, such as fuzzy set theory and genetic algorithms.
В современном мире альтернативные источники энергии, которые в значительной степени зависят от региона, играют все более значимую роль. Однако переход регионов к новым источникам энергии приведет к изменению транспортно- логистического конфигурации сети. Формирование оптимальной опорной транспортной сети сегодня является залогом успешного экономического развития региона завтра. Настоящая статья изучает вопрос опережающего развития опорной транспортной сети региона на основе опыта стран Европы и Азии, а также возможность адаптировать лучший зарубежный опыт к российским условиям. На основе методов искусственного интеллекта для лесопромышленного комплекса Свердловской области предлагается алгоритм решения задачи оптимального логистического распределения инфраструктуры и представлены некоторые результаты моделирования региональной транспортной сети. Эти методы позволили решить поставленную задачу в условиях информационной неопределенности. Дать предложения по совершенствованию транспортной и логистической сети на территории Свердловской области. Зависимость логистики от минерального топлива, является устойчивой тенденцией развития регионов, однако при составлении стратегических планов необходимо на ряду, с плотностью населения, особенностями транспортной инфраструктуры и прогнозом демографических изменений, также предусмотреть альтернативные возможности смены источников энергоресурсов. К проблеме размещения логистических центров обращались многие авторы. Особенностью подхода, предлагаемого авторами этой статьи является применение методов искусственного интеллекта, в частности, теории нечетких множеств и генетических алгоритмов.

Purpose: The aim of the research was to identify problems and develop a way to improve the communication process between partners in the logistics process. Design/methodology/approach: By analysing complaints and interviewing employees, the most important problems in the process were identified. Thanks to the 5 Whys analysis, the root causes of the problems were then identified. Understanding the sources of problems was used to design and implement an IT system supporting communication between suppliers and the manufacturer. Findings: The use of a quality management tool has identified the causes of the problems observed. Three basic sources have been distinguished: lack of dedicated platform to contact the carrier, lack of a knowledge base about the means of transport available at carriers and lack of integration of documentation with a given carrier in the IT system. By knowing the sources of the problems, it was possible to design an efficient and effective IT system. Research limitations/implications: Improvement of the process was possible thanks to the involvement of top management and awareness of the necessity of changes by interested parties. Practical implications: As a result of the analyses, a coherent design of the IT system was developed, whose implementation ensured that problems in the process were reduced, including sending errors and invoicing errors, as well as a shortening of the average processing time for a single order. Originality/value: The implication of quality management tools to improve the logistics process.

Moving the customs border of the European Union on to the line of the Bug river and the appearance of foreign investors in the eastern Poland in the impact area of the No.2 international transport corridor has created new opportunities for development in the recent years. This article aims to characterize logistical centres and their potential on the example of eastern Poland’s No. 2. transport corridor’s area. The analysis of the nature and function of the logistical centre leads the author to derive his own definition of a logistical centre.

Sprawna obsługa logistyczna mieszkańców miast, ułatwiająca przemieszczanie osób wewnątrz miasta oraz połączenia z obszarami zewnętrznymi, może być realizowana poprzez systemy multimodalnego transportu zbiorowego. Obejmują one rożne środki transportu i elementy infrastruktury. Realizacja tych inwestycji zazwyczaj jest kapitałochłonna i wymaga znaczących nakładów inwestycyjnych. Od kilkunastu lat zwraca się uwagę na sektor prywatny jako na potencjalnego inwestora dla przedsięwzięć publicznych, a jedną z form jego uczestnictwa jest partnerstwo publiczno-prywatne PPP. Celem artykułu jest analiza „dobrych praktyk” realizacji inwe-stycji miejskiej infrastruktury logistycznej w formule PPP. Przeprowadzone badania obejmowały: budowę szybkiego tramwaju w Nottingham, aktualnie realizowany system nowoczesnej, w pełni zautomatyzowanej, kolei w Bolonii oraz pilotażowy projekt budowy i utrzymania linii szybkiego tramwaju w Krakowie. Właściwa analiza została poprzedzona syntetycznym omówieniem aktualnej polityki rządu w kwestii rozwoju PPP, ponieważ wsparcie instytucji państwowych ma istotny wpływ na udaną implementację projektów.
Efficient logistics service for city residents, facilitating the movement of people inside the city and connection with external areas can be implemented through multi-modal collective transport systems. They include various means of transport and infrastructure elements. The implementation of these investments is usually capitalintensive and requires significant investment expenditures. For over a dozen years, attention has been paid to the private sector as a potential investor for public projects, and one of the forms of its participation is the PPP - public-private partnership.The article presents the current government policy on the development of PPPs, because the support of state institutions has a significant impact on the successful implementation of projects. Moreover, a PPP analysis of „good practices” was carried out: construction of a fast tram in Nottingham, currently implemented system of a modern, fully automated railway in Bologna and a pilot project of construction and maintenance of a fast tram line in Krakow.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę związaną z transportem odpadów komunalnych. Omówiono wymogi prawne odnoszące się do transportu odpadów, wykaz niezbędnej dokumentacji do prowadzenia tego typu działalności oraz wymagane oznakowanie pojazdów. Pokazano również strategie logistyczne związane z działaniami zmierzającymi do realizacji odbiorów odpadów komunalnych od mieszkańców przykładowego miasta, pozwalające ograniczać koszty związane z tym działaniem. Opisano systemy zbiórki odpadów, oraz najczęściej stosowane systemy transportu oparte o kryterium liczby środków transportu użytych do wywozu odpadów. Artykuł zawiera również informacje dotyczące stosowanych środków transportu. Na koniec przeanalizowano koszty ponoszone przez przykładową firmę na środki transportu wykorzystywane do odbioru odpadów komunalnych oraz przedstawiono czynniki mające istotne znaczenie na kształtowanie się tych kosztów. Artykuł został podzielony na dwie odrębne części.
The article presents the issues related to the transport of municipal waste. The legal requirements relating to waste transport, a list of necessary documentation for conducting this type of activity and the required marking of vehicles are discussed. Logistics strategies related to the activities aimed at the implementation of municipal waste collection from the example of the city residents were also shown, allowing to limit the costs associated with this activity. Described are waste collection systems and the most frequently used transport systems based on the criterion of the number of means of transport used for waste disposal. The article also contains information on the means of transport used. Finally, the costs of the example company for the means of transport used to collect municipal waste were analysed and factors important for the formation of these costs were presented. The article has been divided into two separate parts.

Zwrócono uwagę na te cechy systemu, które wpasowują się w potrzeby rynku górniczego w zakresie dostarczania dysponentom ruchu informacji krytycznych z punktu widzenia efektywnego zarządzania ruchem taboru podziemnego. Przedstawiono możliwości komunikacyjne systemu, jego modularność i opcje rozbudowy. Zwrócono uwagę na aspekt ekonomiczny polegający na minimalnych kosztach niezbędnej infrastruktury oraz bezpieczeństwa transportu.
The paper presents the System of Wireless Logistics Support WLSSTM developed by the Institute of Innovative Technologies EMAG as well as its fundamental functions. It is focused particularly on the system characteristics corresponding with market needs in the scope of providing mine transportation supervisors with information of critical importance for mine transportation management. The authors present communication capacity, modularity and extension options of the system and emphasize low cost of necessary infrastructure and transportation safety.

Purpose: Transport has an impact on economic strength, product availability and the quality of life and attractiveness of urban areas. Transport has an impact on economic strength, product availability and the quality of life and attractiveness of urban areas. The aim of the article is to present the importance of freight transport and its nuisance from the point of view of a resident. Design/methodology/approach: The document contains an analysis of the literature on freight transport in cities. In addition, GUS data on the transport of goods in Poland were analyzed and surveys were conducted in which respondents assessed the impact of goods flows on their quality of life. Findings: During the literature search, a correlation was found between the transport of goods in the city and the functioning of the inhabitants. It turns out that residents largely generate the flow of goods themselves using on-demand deliveries. Originality/value The study presents the results of proprietary research addressed to residents in order to learn their opinions about the transport of goods and deliveries carried out in the city. In addition, the article, based on the available statistical data, proves the relationship between the development of the e-commerce industry and the transport of goods in the city.

Purpose: The growing importance of e-commerce makes it necessary to look for new solutions in ways of delivering goods on the last delivery stretch from the last distribution warehouse to the final customer. The purpose of this article is to show the importance of last mile transport, to present problems connected with it and to show what modern solutions can be implemented, to solve these problems. Design/methodology/approach: The document contains an analysis of the literature related to last mile transport. Based on the literature, the article describes the problem of last-mile transport in cities and proposes solutions that could improve the flow of goods. Findings: During the literature research, a correlation was found between transport costs and the method of delivery of a parcel at the last mile stage. Originality/value: Contemporary cities and metropolises are an area of dynamic social, cultural and economic changes. More and more crowded streets and increased CO2 emissions are the effects of the development of goods flows inside the city and more people living in urban areas. The study presents modern methods of delivering shipments at the last mile and their impact on freight flows in the city.

Given actions related to the air transport, we can surely conclude that the contemporary air services market is characterized by dynamic growth and development. A quick modification of factors responsible for smooth functioning requires implementation of actions aiming at increasing the quality of offered services by adapting them to the expectations of the air passengers to be taken on a more systematic basis. The above actions will bring effects only if we demonstrate our expert knowledge of the market and its needs. The market of air services in the 21st century faces strong competition. Therefore, in order to gain information about the factors, processes, and field phenomena, research must be conducted, as it constitutes the basic tool for the shaping of the air services industry. Marketing research conducted in the field of air transport based on a well-structured research scheme allows taking the right logistic decisions, which is the subject of this article.

Opis:
Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja i analiza różnego rodzaju procesów logistycznych, które mogą występować w cyklu życia pojazdu samochodowego oraz próba przyporządkowania ich do określonych grup działań o podobnym charakterze. Opisano procesy występujące w motoryzacji drogowej, szczególnie tej związanej z wykorzystaniem samochodów osobowych, które mogą być zidentyfikowane jako procesy logistyczne. Badania podzielono na cztery etapy, zgodnie z cyklem życia pojazdów. Podkreślono powiązania występujące w łańcuchu dostaw między poszczególnymi podsystemami logistycznymi na każdym z tych etapów. Wynikiem pracy badawczej jest określenie znacznego stopnia skomplikowania działań logistycznych w tym zakresie i ich wzajemnych zależności a także dużą różnorodność zagadnień, co świadczy o interdyscyplinarnym charakterze logistyki. Całościowe spojrzenie na tę problematykę pozwala zrozumieć konsekwencje niektórych decyzji podejmowanych np. na etapie projektowania na pozostałe etapy, w tym także na procesy wycofywania z eksploatacji a przede wszystkim na wymagania z punktu widzenia zrównoważonego rozwoju. Wnioski, które można wysnuć na podstawie przeprowadzonych analiz pozwalają stwierdzić, że uzasadnione jest poszukiwanie i identyfikacja wszystkich działań, które mogą mieć charakter logistyczny aby móc planować i kontrolować wzajemny wpływ niektórych działań (decyzji) na inne, niekiedy bardzo oddalone w czasie, w wymiarze strategicznym.
The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze various logistic processes that may occur in the life cycle of an automobile vehicle and attempt to assign them to specific groups of activities of a similar nature. Processes occurring in road motorization, especially those related to the use of passenger cars, which can be identified as logistic processes are described. The research was divided into four stages, according to the life cycle of vehicles. The links existing in the supply chain between individual logistics subsystems on each are underlined from these stages. The result of the research work is the determination of a considerable degree of complexity of logistic activities in this area and their mutual dependence as well as a large variety of issues, which proves the interdisciplinary nature of logistics. A comprehensive look at this issue allows to understand the consequences of some decisions taken, for example, at the design stage for the remaining stages, including end-of-life processes and, above all, requirements from the point of view of sustainable development.The conclusions that can be drawn from the conducted analyzes allow to state that it is justified to search for and identify all activities that may be logistic in order to plan and control the mutual influence of some activities (decisions) on other, sometimes very remote in time, in strategic dimension.

Opis:
The State Forests National Forest Holding that manages 77.1% of the forests in Poland intend to harvest over 40 million m³ of timber, which is supposed to supply the demand from some thousand timber processing companies. Introduction of a new normative for determination of the timber load weight as a result of multiplication its volume and wood density significantly changed timber transport regulations in 2012. The study analyzes the timber supply to a large (over 300 thousand m³ of wood per year) sawmill in the first half of 2012 and 2016. On the first date standard mass conversion indices were not implemented yet. We analysed whether there are significant differences in the timber deliveries between 2012 and 2016 with regard to monthly and weekly scale as well as in relation to the days of the week. In the first half of 2012 there was 4946 deliveries, which provided more than 126 thousand m³ of timber. In the same period of 2016 there was 6109 deliveries with total volume of 178 thousand m³. Increase in timber demand by 41% resulted in an increase in the number of transports only by 23.5%. Considering the distribution of the deliveries in each of 27 weeks, the average number of courses equal to 183 per week in 2012 and 226 in 2016. In first half of 2012, no courses were recorded in week 18, 26 and 27, while the highest number – in the week 16 (305 shipments). In 2016 only in first week there was no courses, and the maximum (312 deliveries) was reached in the sixth week. Average volume of weekly deliveries in 2012 amounted to 5234 m³, while in 2016 it reached 6595 m³. Maximum values equaled 7706 and 9026 m³ respectively. We noticed significant difference in the number of shipments and the volume of the delivered timber between the study periods, which results mainly from the increased production and demand.
