Opis:
This paper deals with modal analysis of barrels for assault rifles. The barrels are modeled as 3-D objects. Three different barrels for analysis were used. First barrel is fully cylindrical and served as comparison to another two barrels, the design of which is quite close to the real barrels for 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm calibers. The calculation of natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes was performed using the Finite Elements Method, using the LS-DYNA software system. Modal analysis was solved using the iterative Lanczos method. All three barrels are compared from various viewpoints. In Tables 1-3 the natural frequencies for these barrels and their corresponding mode shapes with modification in gripping and also with application muzzle compensator for two real barrels are listed. Various sizes of natural frequencies versus corresponding modes with modification in gripping and applied muzzle compensator for these barrels are shown on Figures from 4-9.

Opis:
This paper deals with any additional accessories has on a weapon barrel during the initial shot this was done by numerical simulation. This means, that in this paper the influence that the configuration of the assault rifle has on its accuracy is solved. Moreover the weapons muzzle position during the firing of a shot without the influence of temperature or wear of the barrel is solved. The weapon barrel and bullet are both modelled using LS-DYNA software. The barrel is steel and is ideally straight without any structural or manufactured deviations. The bullet is NATO standard 5.56 mm calibre which is consists of a brass jacket and a lead core. The bullets interaction with the barrel during a shot is given by pressured gunpowder gasses both in the barrel and the bullets base whereby it gives the bullet its forward velocity. At the initial stages of the bullets flight it has to overcome its engraving into grooves of the barrel. Both applied pressure and the movement of the bullet along the barrel gives rise to barrel vibration. This barrel vibration has an influence on its muzzle position when the bullet leaves the muzzle. Furthermore, both additional accessories and various conditions of the barrels grip onto the weapons casing have additional influences on the muzzles position when the bullet leaves the muzzle, thus having a great influence on precision.

Opis:
The purpose of the research was to assess the species composition and biodiversity indices for xylophagous beetles collected by window traps in the parts of Gomilshanski lisy National Nature Park with different management regimes and anthropogenic load. Four window traps were placed in each of the five groups of sample plots: clear felling, selective felling, stationary recreation, regulated recreation and protected zone. The data were analysed using the statistical software package PAST, particularly, the Menhinick index (DMn) and dominance index (D) were evaluated and classical clustering (unweighted pair-group average [UPGMA]) was performed. A total of 42 species of xylophages (9903 individuals) were collected from Curculionidae (Scolytinae and Cossoninae), Cerambycidae, Histeridae, Bostrichidae, Buprestidae and Lymexilidae. The highest species richness was in the plots of clear and selective felling (25 and 22 species, respectively) and the lowest was in the protected zone (16 species), regulated recreation (19 species) and stationary recreation (22 species). The Menhinick index (DMn) was the lowest in the protected zone (0.27), increased in the zone of regulated recreation (0.43) and stationary recreation (0.45) and was maximal in the plots of selective and clear felling (0.69 and 0.77, respectively). The number of individuals was maximal in the protected zone and minimal at the plots of selective and clear felling. All sites were dominated by Xyleborinus saxesenii (Ratzeburg, 1837) (66–85% individuals) and Anisandrus dispar (Fabricius, 1792) (8.5–20.7% individuals). Minimal dominance (0.49) was found in the plot of clear felling. Cluster analysis showed similarity of the xylophage complex in the plots of clear and selective felling, as well as in the zone of stationary and regulated recreation, which differed from the protected zone.

Opis:
The article deals with the possible design of a new cartridge for an automatic assault rifle. This hypothetical design is based on the analysis of five automatic assault rifle cartridges which are currently used in armies: 7.62×51 mm NATO, 7.62×39 mm M. 43, 5.56×45 mm NATO and also another two cartridges which are under testing both 6.8×43 mm Rem. SPC and 6.5×38 mm Grendel. The analysis of a new cartridge including internal ballistics, external ballistics, and terminal ballistics energy disposed to the target upon an impact is introduced in the article. The goal was to create a cartridge that would have better ballistic performance than 5.56×45 mm NATO and it would still possess enough accuracy of fire and speed, so that it could dispose at least minimal kinetic energy necessary to incapacitate individuals. Also it is important to maintain the constancy of this effect for the long distance shooting, somewhere around 500 m, during battles in an open area (effective range of 5.56×45 mm automatic assault rifles is normally of about 300 m what only suffices in close quarter battles). To achieve it, the bullet must have the higher sectional density than the 5.56×45 mm cartridge. The sectional density reflects the capability of bullet to penetrate through the human tissue within the requirements of wound ballistics. Based on the analysis, the value of sectional density should be approximately of 0.21 g/mm2. The function of fully automatic firing depends on the size of the recoil energy of a weapon which is also related to the muzzle energy that cannot surpass the amount of 2 500 J. The new cartridge design is based on the 6 mm Scenar bullet (FMJ - Full Metal Jacket bullet with a weight of 5.8 g) made by the Lapua Company. All the ballistic parameters must be within the intervals of strength and construction possibilities of small arms ammunition. To create a possible variation of the mentioned cartridge where its bullet will be powered by a nitrocellulose propellant (originally made in Czech Republic) and a new cartridge case will be created.

Opis:
The paper deals with modal analysis of the two different medium calibre barrel weapons. At present time PC software which are based on FEM modal analysis enable not only create a new design but also check old design how be up to standard on the fire accuracy. Also at this time is big boom to make new armour personal carriers which are equipped with the medium weapon calibre systems. Many of them use standard design of bedding the barrel to the weapon case, however also they are created in new weapon design. The modal analysis is powerful method to describe their vibration properties which have the cardinal influence on the accuracy of fire. The barrels were modelled as 3-D objects with next configuration with aim to obtain right results and their mutual comparison. Figure 1-3 show design of the solved barrels. Modal analysis was performed by LS-DYNA software using iterative Lanczos method. In Tables 1-5, the natural frequencies for these barrels and their modifications and their corresponding own shapes are listed. Next Figures 4, 7-10, 12 show the courses natural frequencies versus modes. In Figure 11 are shown the modal shapes of the modified cylindrical weapon barrel with the armature.

Opis:
The paper deals with modal analysis of the cylinders and tubes and their mutual comparison. Nowadays, modal analysis is a powerful method of describing the vibration properties. When we know own shapes and natural frequencies, we can predict e.g. behaviour of tubes under loading conditions. The tubes dimensions were taken as dimensions which are close to assault rifle barrels. The same dimensions were taken for cylinders. The cylinders and tubes as 3D objects were modelled and their lengths and thicknesses were modified. Modal analysis was performed by LS-DYNA software using FEM with iterative Lanczos method. In Tables 1-12, the natural frequencies for these cantilever beams and their corresponding own shapes with modification in fixing length for three different thicknesses are listed. In Figure 2 and 7-9, these natural frequencies versus modification in fixing length for three different thicknesses for corresponding modes are shown. In Figure 3-5 and 10-12, natural frequencies versus length of cylinders and tubes for three different thicknesses for corresponding modes are shown.
