Punkt wyjścia artykułu stanowi przedstawione w adhortacji Verbum Domini współczesne rozeznanie i przeświadczenie Kościoła o potrzebie głoszenia chrześcijanom na nowo i z przekonaniem słowa Bożego, „by mogli konkretnie doświadczyć mocy Ewangelii” (VD 96). Przypomniana w dokumencie nieprzedawniona możliwość „ponawiania spotkania” z osobą Jezusa Chrystusa w słowie Bożym ukazana została na podstawie dwóch aspektów misterium słowa Bożego: jego skutecznego isakramentalnego charakteru. Autor przestrzega przed zawężonym rozumieniem misterium słowa, które opowiada się za jego skutecznością zarezerwowaną jedynie do sprawowania liturgii i wskazuje na przeżywającą dziś renesans praktykę modlitwy słowem Bożym na drodze lectio divina.
This article stresses the necessity, expressed in the Exhortation Verbum Domini, of a new and persuasive proclamation of God’s Word, by which the believers “can concretely experience the power of the Gospel” (VD 96). There is a persistent reminder in the document of the need “to reiterate the meeting” with the person of Jesus Christ through the Word of God. The role of the word in that meeting with Christ, who appears himself in His word (VD 73), is shown in the article with two newly revisited aspects relating to mystery of the word of God: its effectiveness and sacramental nature. With regard to the conditions required to experience the effectiveness of the word of God, the author warns of the danger of reduction in comprehension of the mystery of the word, which should not be reduced only to the liturgy, but enlarged towards a recently revitalized praying practice of lectio divina. This ancient practice offers a true opportunity to experience a personal meeting with Jesus, to feel the supernatural effectiveness of the word, to find out with self‑confidence that “God speaks and responds to our questions” (VD 4). The word of God is much more than the speech of God; it is also a deed of God in the history of humankind, inviting to undertake an effort and making it possible to come into personal relation with Jesus present in God’s Word.

Katecheza wciąż sięga do swego podstawowego źródła, jakim jest Słowo Boże. Aktualne jest wezwanie Kościoła do odnowienia podstawowej relacji z Osobą Jezusa w Słowie Bożym i przypomnienie, że wiara wymaga doświadczenia takiego spotkania. W tym kluczu artykuł zwraca uwagę na dwa aspekty chrystologii Słowa mało obecne we współczesnej interpretacji teologicznej: jego performatywny i sakramentalny charakter. Następnie analizuje pojęcie katechezy rozumianej jako eklezjalne pośrednictwo do wejścia w relację ze Słowem Bożym, do doświadczenia, które gwarantuje docieranie do głębi osoby. Sięga po argument z Pisma, streszczając jak o substancjalnej mocy Słowa Bożego mówią słudzy i świadkowie Słowa. Wskazuje na jeden z aspektów teologii Słowa u św. Łukasza Ewangelisty i w końcu ukazuje to, co może stanowić wzór katechezy. Ważne wnioski dla dzisiejszej katechezy i nauczania religii w szkole to świadomość, że dużo jest dzisiaj słów, które chciałyby zastąpić Słowo Boże. Są nimi wszystkie ludzkie słowa uznane za skuteczne, wydajne, płodne, lecz wcześniej czy później odsłaniają swoje ograniczenia. Nie możemy poddać się jednej z najbardziej zawoalowanych pokus naszych czasów, że inne słowa, inne technologie, inne metody, tak zwane psychopedagogiczne, mogą być bardziej skuteczne od Słowa Bożego.
Catechesis keeps reaching for its fundamental source, that is God’s Word. The Church’s call for a renewal of the basic relation with the Person of Jesus in God’s Word is still topical, as well as the reminder that faith requires such an encounter. In this key the article draws the reader’s attention to two aspects of Christology of the Word that are rarely present in the modern theological interpretation: its performative and sacramental character. Next, it analyzes the concept of catechesis understood as ecclesial mediation in entering the relation with God’s Word, in the experience that guarantees reaching the depth of the person. It reaches for an argument coming from the Scripture, summarizing the words that are said by the Word’s servants and witnesses about the substantial power of God’s Word. It points to one of the aspects of theology of the Word in St Luke the Evangelist’s text, and finally it shows what can be the model of catechesis. An important conclusion for modern catechesis and religion teaching at school is that today there are a lot of words that would like to replace God’s Word. They are all the human words considered to be efficient, effective, fruitful - but sooner or later they have to acknowledge their limitations. We cannot surrender to one of the most veiled temptations of our times, that is that other words, other technologies, other methods, so-called psycho-pedagogical ones, can be more efficient than God’s Word.

W pierwszej autor przedstawia zawartość rzeczową Dyrektorium homiletycznego uwypuklając zasadnicze tematy teologiczne tego dokumentu, a w szczególności problem natury homilii oraz kryteriów poprawnej interpretacji Pisma Świętego. Kryteria te zostały zaczerpnięte z adhortacji Verbum Domini: interpretacja perykopy w jej kontekście biblijnym, uwzględnienie zasady hierarchii prawd wiary oraz wierność Tradycji. W drugiej części autor wydobywa pozytywne aspekty Dyrektorium: stwierdzenia na temat wagi i godności homilii, przypomnienie nauki Soboru na temat homilii jako aktu celebracji liturgicznej, wezwanie do wierności nauce Kościoła poprzez odniesienie do Katechizmu Kościoła katolickiego. Część trzecia artykułu podkreśla niektóre braki i ograniczenia Dyrektorium. Zdaniem autora chodzi tu o zbyt enigmatyczne uwzględnienie adresata homilii, o brak informacji na temat aspektów komunikacyjnych przepowiadania. W dokumencie nie znalazły się także nowatorskie inspiracje papieża Franciszka zawarte w adhortacji Evangelii gaudium. Zabrakło także głębszej recepcji wskazań natury historiozbawczej obecnych w soborowej Konstytucji Dei Verbum. Il Direttorio Omiletico. Presentazione e riflessioni L'articolo comprende tre parti. La prima descrive il contenuto del Direttorio Omiletico e ne delinea i temi teologici che fanno da trama al documento e in particolare la natura dell'omelia, i criteri per una corretta interpretazione delle Scritture. Dell'omelia viene sottolineata la sua natura di mediazione sacramentale dell'evento della Parola di Dio. I criteri di interpretazione delle Scritture vengono desunti da Verbum Domini: e la comprensione di ogni pericope nel contesto dell'intera Scrittura, l'applicazione del principio della gerarchia delle verità di fede e la fedeltà alla comprensione nella Tradizione. La seconda parte mette in risalto l'apporto positivo di questo Documento: una vigorosa affermazione dell'importanza e della dignità dell'omelia, la fedeltà al dettato conciliare della sua appartenenza alla celebrazione di cui è parte integrante, l'affermazione della fedeltà alla dottrina della Chiesa, mediante il rimando al Catechismo della Chiesa Cattolica. La terza parte intende segnalare alcuni limiti del Direttorio, e cioè una inadeguata attenzione ai destinatari dell'omelia e alle esigenze di una comunicazione efficace, la non incorporazione degli impulsi di novità contenuti nella Evangelii Gaudium, l'insufficiente recezione delle indicazioni storico-salvifiche della Dei Verbum.
The article is composed of three parts. In the first part, the author presents the subject contents of the Homiletic Directory while pointing out the essential theological topics contained in this document, and particularly the nature of the issues of a homily and the criteria for correctly interpreting Sacred Scripture. These criteria were taken from the exhortation Verbum Domini: interpreting a pericope in its biblical context, taking into account the principle of hierarchy of truths of the faith and faithfulness to Tradition. In the second part, the author derives the positive aspects of the Directory. This includes its statements on the topic of the homily's importance and dignity, reference to the Council's teachings on the topic of the homily as an action in the liturgical celebration and a call to being faithful to the Church's teachings by referring to the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The third part of the article stresses some breeches and limitations in the Directory. According to the author, here we are referring to a rather enigmatic account of the homily's audience and a lack of information on the topic of aspects of communication in delivering. The document does not contain the unique inspirations of Pope Francis included in his exhortation Evangelii Gaudium. There is also a lack of a deeper reception of the nature of the historical and salvific recommendations present in the Council's Constitution Dei Verbum.

The study summarizes the main points of the Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Verbum Domini of Benedict XVI on “The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church” (2010). Reflection addresses the role of the Word of God in the Church, expanding and updating the cap. VI of the dogmatic constitution Dei Verbum. The exhortation is an important verification of the “biblical itinerary” of the post-conciliar Church. The basic lines are from the extensive work of synthesis, summarized in 55 propositions drawn up during the XII Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops (Vatican City, 5 to 26 October 2008). As a “symphony music”, the article proposes a path hermeneutical recovering the three parts of the Exhortation: 1) The “Word of God” (Nos. 6–49); 2) “the Word in the Church” (Nos. 50–89); 3) the “Word to the world” (Nos. 90–120). In conclusion, we propose some interpretations of theological and pastoral role of the Word of God for today’s man.
Lo studio riassume i punti principali dell’Esortazione Apostolica Postsinodale Verbum Domini di Benedetto XVI riguardante «La Parola di Dio nella vita e nella missione della Chiesa» (2010). La riflessione affronta il ruolo della Parola di Dio nella Chiesa, ampliando e attualizzando il cap. VI della costituzione dogmatica Dei Verbum. L’Esortazione costituisce un importante verifica del «cammino biblico» della Chiesa post-conciliare. Le indicazioni basilari provengono dal vasto lavoro di sintesi, riassunto nelle 55 Propositiones redatte nel corso della XII Assemblea Generale Ordinaria del Sinodo dei Vescovi (Città del Vaticano, 5–26 ottobre 2008). Come una «sinfonia musicale», l’articolo propone un percorso ermeneutico riprendendo le tre parti dell’Esortazione: 1) La «Parola di Dio» (nn. 6–49); 2) la «Parola nella Chiesa» (nn. 50–89); 3) la «Parola al mondo» (nn. 90–120). In conclusione si propongono alcune chiavi di lettura teologica e pastorale del ruolo della Parola di Dio per l’uomo di oggi.

Francis`s Exhortation “Amoris laetitia” caused interest because of new pastoral approach to people who are divorced and those who have remarried. It also led to doubts and questions concerning the continuity of the Church`s teaching about marriage and family. Basing on the characteristics of the new Catholic paradigm presented by Cardinal B. Cupich, the study discusses the question of one of the possible forms of practising the approach indicated by Francis. The author tries to read Amoris laetitia by means of lectio divina and points to it as an appropriate way leading to recognition of the situation of people who got divorced or remarried and the possibility of receiving communion by them.
Adhortacja Franciszka Amoris laetitia wzbudziła znaczne zainteresowanie z powodu nowego podejścia duszpasterskiego do osób rozwiedzionych i żyjących w powtórnych związkach. Doprowadziła również do wątpliwości i pytań dotyczących ciągłości nauczania Kościoła o małżeństwie i rodzinie. W oparciu o charakterystykę nowego katolickiego paradygmatu, która została zaprezentowana przez kard. B. Cupich’a, została podjęta w opracowaniu kwestia jednej z możliwych form realizacji podejścia wskazanego przez Franciszka. Autor proponuje czytać Amoris laetitia w kluczu lectio divina oraz wskazuje na nią jako odpowiednią drogę wiodącą do rozpoznania sytuacji osób rozwiedzionych i żyjących w nowych związkach oraz możliwości przystępowania przez nich do komunii świętej.

Jego pasja biblijnych poszukiwań zaowocowała imponującym dorobkiem publikacji, które propagują starożytną praktykę lectio divina, katechetyczną lekturę Pisma Świętego – katechezę narracyjną oraz rozeznawanie powołania według duchowości ignacjańskiej. Z tego dorobku korzysta wspólnota braci zakonnych i świeckich w Villapizzone oraz wiele innych wspólnot, które praktykują osobistą i wspólnotową lekturę Biblii. Metoda lectio divina, pierwotnie praktykowana w środowisku zakonnym, dzisiaj stała się dostępna dla wszystkich wierzących w Chrystusa – Słowo Życia. Medytacyjna lektura Pisma Świętego jest żywym doświadczeniem wielu osób duchownych i świeckich, autentycznym darem Boga, bez którego chrześcijanie nie potrafiliby czytać, rozważać, modlić się i żyć Słowem. Ćwiczenie się w słuchaniu słowa Bożego ułatwia poznanie „sprawy Jezusa z Nazaretu” (Dz 10,38), wzmaga pasję badawczą («łowienie/tropienie» w Biblii), czyli właściwą interpretację i aktualizację orędzia zbawienia.
The article presents the life and work of Silavano Fausti - an Italian biblical scholar, philosopher and theologian; co-founder of the community of brothers and lay families in Villapizzone (Milan) and spiritual director and confessor Cardinal C.M. Martini. His passion for biblical search has resulted in an impressive output of publications that promote the ancient lectio divina practice, catechetical reading of the Holy Scriptures - narrative catechesis and discernment of vocations according to Ignatian spirituality. The community of brothers and lay people in Villapizzone and many other communities that practice the personal and communal reading of the Bible benefit from this achievement. The lectio divina method, originally practiced in the monastic environment, has now become available to all believers in Christ - the Word of Life. The meditative reading of the Holy Scriptures is the living experience of many clergymen and lay people, an authentic gift of God, without which Christians would not be able to read, meditate, pray and live the Word. Exercising in listening to the word of God makes it easier to get to know the "case of Jesus of Nazareth" (Acts 10:38), enhances the research passion ("catching/tracking" in the Bible), that is, proper interpretation and updating of the message of salvation.

Extolling of God takes primate place among religiousness forms, as wit-nessed the Book of Psalms and Tobias’s Book in which prayer anthem let to get into the world of “prayer reminiscences”, extracting from it understated but suggested affinity of thoughts in the “biblical world”. The characteristic for this Tobias’s prayer is worshipping of God in the background of the dispersion which is not a kind of cult celebration but is connected with some value system of all Jewish community during the period of aQer exile and also reality of Jerusalem in its eschatological dimension outlined in Ezekiel’s temple vision and in apocalypse of Deutroizaiah. His anthem’s reminiscences in other biblical books let to enlarge Tobias’s “back-ground”, presented in his deutro-canonical book, to other prayer forms and extract from them new semantic dimensions, which with their meaning and “telling” nar-ration join in historical narration saving activity of God.

The prayer with the use of the word of God, Lectio divina, is one of the best methods to enter into the dialog with God. It has it roots in the deep Christian tradition and it keeps to be relevant even today. Over the years it assumed its classical division to: lectio, meditatio, oratio and contemplatio. From time immemorial the Church encourages people to practice this form of prayer. It was also fostered by the teaching of the Second Vatican Council, by the teaching after the Council, as well as by the popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI. These encouragements bear the fruits in the life of numerous Christian communities and in the life of many people, because it seems be a form of prayer suitable for both: individual people and communities. This form of prayer finds also its place in many theological publications especially those concerning Christian spirituality. The best example for everyone wanting to practice Lectio divina was given by Mary, because it cannot be treated only as a method of prayer. It is something more; it is a style of life that forms the relationship with God and with other people as well. The life of Mary is distinguished exactly by this style.
