Opis:
This paper presents the results of research regarding measurements of the values of pressure drops during horizontal flow of gas-liquid and gas-liquid-liquid mixture through 180o pipe bends. The conducted insightful analysis and assessment during multi-phase flow in pipe bends has enabled to develop a new method for determination of their values. This new method for determining pressure drops ensures higher precision of calculation in comparison to other methods presented in literature and can be applied for calculation of these parameters during multi-phase flows in pipe bends with various geometries.

Opis:
Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have remarkable immunomodulatory properties, low immunogenicity, and paracrine properties as well as the ability to differentiate into multiple cell lines. These properties make them potential candidates for clinical applications in the treatment of neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, and lung diseases, which may be occupational diseases. Preclinical studies using experimental animal models have demonstrated regenerative properties of MSCs in diseases such as silicosis and occupational asthma. Currently, treatment of the novel disease COVID-19 could be enhanced by using MSC therapies. This disease affects many professional groups with great intensity and its consequences might be considered as an occupational disease. It is a significant public health problem and a therapeutic challenge. Despite the development of vaccines against COVID-19, there is growing concern about the emergence of new mutations of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in addition to the known alpha, beta, gamma, and delta variants. There is still no effective COVID-19 treatment and the existing ones only play a supporting role. MSCs offer treatment possibilities as an alternative or complementary therapy. The clinical trials to date using MSCs in patients with COVID-19 give hope for the safe and effective use of this stem cell population.

Opis:
In this paper, the derivation of expressions for admissible values of strains and stresses for vertex points of layers subjected to tension during tube bending at bending machines is presented. The conditions of the dispersed and located loss of stability of the bent tube were assumed as criteria of instability. The original element of this paper is the extension of the criterion of strain location in a form of possible initiation of a neck or furrow (introduced by Marciniak for thin plates [1]) to bending thin- and thick-walled metal tubes at bending machines. The conditions of the dispersed and localized loss of stability together with formation of the plane state of deformation (PSD) in the plane stress state (PSS) were assumed as the criteria of instability. The calculation results were presented as graphs being useful nomograms. We present also simple examples of calculations of permissible and critical strains and values of bending angles including and not including displacement of the neutral axis y0, during cold bending metal thin-walled tubes at bending machines for bending angles […].

Opis:
The relations to calculate the maximum value of strains in processes of bending tubes on benders, in stretched layers of tubes, are presented in this work on the basis of the EU-Directive concerning production of pressure equipment. It has been shown that for large deformations that occur during bending of the pipes on knees, logarithmic strain measures (real) and relative strain measures give different values of strain but equal wall thicknesses in the bending zone. Logarithmic measures are frequently used in engineering practice and are valid for large and small deformations. Reverse expressions were also derived to calculate the required initial wall thickness of the tube to be bent, in order to obtain the desired wall thickness of the knee after bending.
