Preparation for participating in the Eucharist took place in the fourth and fifth centuries as part of pre-baptismal catechesis, and to a more degree as part of mystagogical catechesis which took place after baptism. A few of such catecheses have been preserved after saint Augustine. He preached them at Easter. In these catecheses he tried to make neophytes aware of the real presence of Christ in Bread and Wine. He justified it using biblical texts especially Christ’s statements about „the living bread”. The main task and duty of Christians was to wake up in the faith and receive the Eucharist worthily.

W niniejszym artykule w oparciu o dokumenty kościelne i opracowania katechetyczne przedstawiono zagadnienie duszpasterstwa katechetycznego w parafii, etapy katechezy parafialnej, grupy osób dorosłych objętych katechezą oraz treści katechezy biblijnej w parafii. Najwięcej uwagi poświęcono grupom katechetycznym. Wyróżniono w nich osoby podzielone ze względu na zaangażowanie w sprawy wiary, osoby podzielone ze względu na szczególne sytuacje życiowe oraz inne grupy katechetyczne, czyli rodziców, dorosłych posługujących w liturgii oraz katechetów. Do wszystkich tych grup osób dorosłych powinna być skierowana odpowiednia katecheza, w tym również katecheza biblijna otwierająca na spotkanie z Chrystusem obecnym w słowie Bożym.
The present paper describes the problem of parish catechetical ministry, as well as the levels of parish catechesis, groups of adults for which catecheses are intended, and the subject matter of parish biblical catechesis, taking into account the Church documents and catechetical guidelines. Most of the attention was paid to the catechetical groups. There were distinguished groups of adults classified according to their degree of adherence to the faith, or according to their specific life situations, as well as other catechetical groups i.e. parents, lay liturgical ministers, and catechists. A proper catechesis should be directed towards each of these groups of adults. This concerns also the biblical catechesis which prepares to meet Christ present in the Word of God.

The present paper deals with the problem of biblical catechesis intended for adults in the light of the Church documents and studies. Basic catechetical documents were taken into account: the Apostolic Exhortation Catechesi Tradendae of Pope John Paul II on catechesis in our time, the document issued by the Congregation for the Clergy, entitled General directory for catechesis, the document of the Polish Episcopal Conference, entitled Catechetical directory of the catholic Church in Poland, as well as the document issued by the International Council for Catechesis, entitled Adult catechesis in the Christian community: some principles and guidelines, and the consecutive document of the Polish Episcopal Conference – Directory for pastoral care of liturgical ministers. The paper discusses the problem of adult catechesis in parish focusing on biblical catechesis. Selected forms and methods of biblical catechesis in parish were presented, followed by some propositions with respect to the presentation of biblical themes.
Niniejszy artykuł podejmuje zagadnienie katechezy biblijnej skierowanej do osób dorosłych w świetle obowiązujących dokumentów kościelnych i opracowań. Wzięto pod uwagę podstawowe dokumenty katechetyczne: adhortację apostolską Jana Pawła II o katechizacji w czasach współczesnych Catechesi tradendae, dokument Kongregacji ds. Duchowieństwa zatytułowany Dyrektorium ogólne o katechizacji, dokument Konferencji Episkopatu Polski zatytułowany Dyrektorium katechetyczne Kościoła katolickiego w Polsce oraz dokument Międzynarodowej Rady do Spraw Katechezy zatytułowany Katecheza dorosłych we wspólnocie chrześcijańskiej. Niektóre linie i ukierunkowania i następny dokument Konferencji Episkopatu Polski – Dyrektorium duszpasterstwa służby liturgicznej. W artykule przedstawiono zagadnienie katechezy dorosłych w parafii ze zwróceniem uwagi na katechezę biblijną, wymieniono niektóre formy i metody katechezy biblijnej w parafii, a na końcu podano propozycje dotyczące przekazu treści biblijnych.

Niedostosowanie społeczne jest zjawiskiem, które występuje zarówno w rodzinie, jak i w szkole, zakładzie pracy oraz środowisku społecznym. Dotyczy wszystkich osób, które zachowują się odmiennie od ogólnie przyjętych norm czy zasad postępowania. Wpływ na takie postępowanie mają zarówno czynniki zewnętrzne – społeczne/środowiskowe (rodzina, szkoła, grupy rówieśnicze, mass media, czynniki ekonomiczno-gospodarcze), jak i wewnętrzne (biologiczne i psychiczne). Zachowania odbiegające od przyjętych reguł przejawiać się mogą wobec: własnej osoby, rodziny, szkoły czy społeczeństwa. To wskazuje na potrzebę katechezy specjalnej oraz indywidualne podejście do każdego katechizowanego. Dlatego też katecheci, wychowawcy, rodzice i opiekunowie są zobowiązani do współpracy i niesienia pomocy osobom niedostosowanym społecznie. Działania katechetyczno-wychowawcze powinny być nastawione na rozwijanie człowieka w jego sferze psychicznej, fizycznej i duchowej. Należy pokazywać im właściwy sposób życia oraz zapobiegać złym wpływom środowiska. W katechizacji młodzieży nieprzystosowanej społecznie sprawdza się zasada tzw. małych kroków, która łączy się z podmiotowym i indywidualnym podejściem do każdej katechizowanej osoby, a także z dostosowywaniem przekazywanych treści do indywidualnych możliwości osoby.
Social maladjustment is a phenomenon that occurs in the family, at school, workplace, as well as in the social environment. It applies to all people who behave differently from generally accepted norms or rules of conduct. Both, external factors – social / environmental (family, school, peer groups, mass-media, socio-economic factors) and internal ones (biological and mental) influence such behaviour. Behaviours deviating from the accepted rules can be manifested against: one's own person, family, school or society. This indicates the need for special catechesis and an individual approach to each catechized. Therefore, catechists, educators, parents and guardians are obliged to cooperate and help socially maladjusted people. Catechetical and educational activities should be focused on the development of a man in his mental, physical and spiritual spheres. We should show them the right way of life and prevent from bad environmental influences. In the catechization of socially maladjusted youth, the principle of the so-called “small steps”, which is combined with a subjective and individual approach to each catechized person, as well as with adapting the transferred content to the individual capabilities of a person.

Die licerarisch-kritische Analyse der Rede in Cäsarea ermöglichte festzustellen, dass ihr Verfasser viele Elemente (Schema, einzelne Formeln und Themen) aus der frühesten Tradition der Urgemeinde übernommen und treu weitergegeben hatte. Trotzdem blieb er ein echter Redaktor, d. h. auf diesem Grund hat er einige für ihn interessante theologische Ideen dargestellt. Vor allem wurde in der Rede die Führung Gottes hervorgehoben. Sie ist in der Sendung, Tätigkeit, Bestinmung und in dem Schicksal Jesu und dann weiter bei seinen Zeugen zu sehen. Diese Führung Gottes zielt eindeutig auf Übergebung des Heils an alle Menschen, Juden wie Heiden, hin. Damit wollte Lukas die heidenchristlichen Gemeinden des ausgehenden ersten Jahrhunderts wissen lassen, dass ihre heilsgeschichtliche Lage auf den Hillen Gottes zurückgeht und dass ihr Glaube im Glauben der Urgemeinde verwurzelt ist.

The catechesis of adults is considered as the principal form of catechesis. The Church is constantly looking for methods and forms of catechesis appropriate for an adult recipient. The biblical catechesis of adults Mess’AJE is one of the interesting catechetical proposals, which has enjoyed success in France and in many other countries around the world. The foundation of the pedagogy of faith is the Bible, and its source is divine pedagogy. What constitutes the originality of the pedagogy of adult catechesis Mess’AJE, is the proposal of travelling through the history of the faith of God’s people in the Bible. It is the history of salvation containing milestones – the so-called “thresholds of faith”, which becomes the history of acts of faith to remain faithful to God. The catechized know the history of the faith of God’s people and they discover in it their own history. Professor Jacques Bernard, the founder of this catechesis, shows in the Bible four thresholds of faith: Exodus, Exile, Jesus, The Church. Each catechetical meeting, according to the Mess’AJE approach, includes five elements: presentation and discussion of audiovisual material inspired by the Bible, biblical and historical approach, theological approach, sharing in groups, prayer.

Pojęcie „wychowanie chrześcijańskie” jest wieloznaczne i różnie interpretowane. Utożsamia się go z katechezą lub z wychowaniem do wiary. Jest ono „pomocą udzielaną człowiekowi w realizacji jego człowieczeństwa, w nadaniu życiu człowieka ostatecznego sensu rozumianego na ogół jako zjednoczenie człowieka z Bogiem poprzez praktykowanie miłości bliźniego” (DWCH 2). Wychowanie chrześcijańskie w katechezie szkolnej oznacza, że rodzice, nauczyciele i wychowawcy oraz katecheci uwzględniają podstawowe sfery oddziaływań, a zatem sferę fizyczną, emocjonalną, intelektualną, moralną, duchową, religijną, społeczną, a także sferę wartości i wolności. Rozumienie człowieka jako osoby leży u podstaw koncepcji wychowania. Wychowanie podczas szkolnej katechezy zakłada rozwijanie umiejętności, sprawności, zainteresowań oraz posługiwanie się zdobytymi wiadomościami. W związku z tym katecheza powinna obejmować wychowanie biblijne, liturgiczne, moralne i wspólnotowo-misyjne. Wychowanie w katechezie szkolnej ma ukazywać ucznia w perspektywie chrześcijańskiej. Rodzice, a następnie katecheci oraz duszpasterze powinni rozwijać sprawności duchowe i budzić radość z chrześcijańskiego życia.
The term “Christian education” is ambiguous and open to interpretation. It is identified with catechesis and education in faith. The Christian education is a “help given to man in the formation of manhood in the pursuit of his ultimate end, which is generally understood as the union of man with God through the practice of charity” (Gravissimum Educationis, No. 2). The Christian education in school catechesis means that parents, teachers, educators and religion teachers take into account the basic spheres of educational influence in their actions, i.e. the physical, emotional, intellectual, moral, spiritual, religious, and social sphere, as well as the sphere of values and freedom. The understanding of man as a human person underlies the concept of education. Education in school catechesis involves developing the student’s abilities, skills and interests, and providing the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired during classes. Therefore, catechesis should include biblical, liturgical, moral as well as communal and missionary education. Education in school catechesis is to show the student in the Christian perspective. Parents, religion teachers and priests should develop the student’s spiritual skills and awake the joy of the Christian life among them.

The aim of the article is to show the main challenges facing Polish catechesis,including religious education at school; these challenges relate tothe proper approach to the person of the Mother of God in the experienceand practice of Catholicism, to appreciate the element of evangelizationand identity in the preaching of faith. The author addresses the issue of therelationship between three concepts as follows: catechesis, the school offaith and the school of Mary described in the Bible and through Tradition.Then, the proper approach to Mariology in the context of entire theologyit synthetically shown.
