Opis:
The aim of the paper was to present the possibility of applying the novel method (RP-HPLC ion pair method) for the simultaneous dissolution determination of combined tablet dosage form containing acetylsalicylic acid and glycine in pharmaceutical industry. The samples were gradient eluted using a Pursuit XS Ultra C18 column (150x3.0 mm, with a particle size of 2.8µm) with variable composition of mobile phase A (1-heptanesulfonic acid sodium salt aqueous solution (2.8 g/L), pH 2.2 ± 0.05 adjusted with orthophosphoric acid) and phase B (methanol). The detection was carried out at 210 nm with a consist flow rate of 0.4 mL min−1. The method was validated by determining precision (repeatability and intermediate precision), accuracy, specificity, linearity, range, system suitability, robustness and stability in accordance with ICH guidelines. The method was accurate, precise and linear within the range of 0.03 – 0.18 mg mL−1 for acetylsalicylic acid and 0.016 – 0.096 mg mL−1 for glycine. The method is simple, convenient and suitable for analyzing acetylsalicylic acid and glycine in pharmaceutical formulations. The method could also be used for routine assay determination after small modification of sample preparation.

Opis:
Two UV-Vis spectrophotometric methods and one fluorimetric method have been developed for the quantitative determination of fluoxetine hydrochloride in bulk and pharmaceutical formulations. These methods are based on the ion pair complex formation between alizarin red S and fluoxetine hydrochloride. In the first method (method A), the yellow-coloured complex obtained in acidic medium was extracted with chloroform, and the absorbance of chloroformic solution was measured at 425 nm. Beer’s law limits (9.5 – 48 µg/mL), the molar absorptivity (5256 L · mol-1· cm-1), and the complex composition (1:1) were determined. In the second method (method B), the yellow complex fluoxetine – alizarin red S extracted in chloroform was broken in alkaline medium, and the absorbance of the resulting violet-coloured free dye was measured at 524 nm. A linear relationship was observed in the range 9.0 – 54 µg/mL. In the third method (method C) the fluorescence intensity of the fluoxetine – alizarin red S complex, obtained in the same manner as for method A, was measured at 594 nm after excitation at 425 nm. The fluorescence intensity was proportional to the drug concentration in the linear range of 2.7-10.2 µg/mL. The limits of detection and quantification have also been calculated. Furthermore, the proposed methods have been successfully applied for the assay of the drug in pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Opis:
A study on separation of betacyanins and their decarboxylated as well as dehydrogenated derivatives obtained from red beet roots (Beta vulgaris L.) in high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ion-pair high-speed counter-current chromatography (IP-HSCCC) was performed. The IP-HSCCC process was accomplished in the ‘head-to-tail’ mode in a solvent system composed of butanol — acetonitrile — water (5:1:6 v/v/v, acidifi ed with 0.7% trifl uoroacetic acid). The HPLC separation was performed in a typical reversed phase mode with mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and diode-array (DAD) detection. The chromatographic profi les of betalains obtained in these two techniques were signifi cantly diff erent. In HPLC, the most polar compounds, like betanin and isobetanin, eluted before less polar decarboxylated and dehydrogenated derivatives (mostly degradation products of betanin). In IP-HSCCC, the dehydrogenated derivatives were eluted faster then their non-dehydrogenated analogues. It was observed for the fi rst time that betanin and neobetanin (14,15-dehydrogenated betanin), which are present in many plants containing betalains, had reversed elution orders during chromatographic separation by these two techniques.

Opis:
The paper contains a unified treatment of disturbance propagation (transport) in the linearized Vlasov electron-positron and fullerene pair plasmas containing charged dust impurities, based on the space-time convolution integral equations. An initial-value problem for Vlasov-Poisson/Ampčre equations is reduced to the one multiple integral equation and the solution is expressed in terms of forcing function and its space-time convolution with the resolvent kernel. The forcing function is responsible for the initial disturbance and the resolvent is responsible for the equilibrium velocity distributions of plasma species. By use of resolvent equations, time-reversibility, space-reflexivity and the other symmetries are revealed. The symmetries carry on physical properties of Vlasov pair plasmas, e.g., conservation laws. Properly choosing equilibrium distributions for dusty pair plasmas, we can reduce the resolvent equation to: (i) the undamped dispersive wave equations, (ii) wave-diffusive transport equation, and (iii) diffusive transport equations of oscillations. In the last case, we have to do with anomalous diffusion employing fractional derivatives in time and space.

Opis:
Ionic liquids are molten salts composed of large, asymmetric, organic cations (e.g. imidazolium or piperidine) and inorganic anions such as e.g chloride or fluoroborate. These compounds are characterized by low melting point, below 1000C, however, they also have other interesting properties including high thermal stability, minor vapor pressure or negligible volatility. Moreover, by the appropriate selection of the cation and anion building the ionic liquid, it is possible to obtain the desired physicochemical properties of these salts. For this reason, ionic liquids are applied to the synthesis, catalysis, electrochemical methods, extraction methods, etc. Application of these compounds in separation techniques merits special attention, especially considering liquid chromatography. Ionic liquids are commonly used in this technique as free silanols suppressors, especially regarding the analysis of basic compounds. Moreover, the excess amount of ionic liquids ions may adsorb on the hydrophobic ligands present at the stationary phase surface, which also plays a significant role in the retention of analytes. Besides their application as silanols suppressors, these compounds were also used as ion pair reagents in the analysis of antisense oligonucleotides, which are short nucleic acid fragments with therapeutic potential due to the ability to bind with complementary sequences of ribonucleic acid. For this reason, antisense oligonucleotides are used in the treatment of several diseases. This article briefly presents structures, properties and the application of ionic liquids as mobile phase modifiers for the analysis of the wide range of different analytes using liquid chromatography. Moreover, a part of this paper was devoted to the analysis of antisense oligonucleotides with the use of the different chromatographic techniques, including the application of ionic liquids as mobile phase additives in ion pair chromatography.
