Opis:
The paper characterizes some selected aspects of intelligent building technology. Various functions are described that enable optimal controlling of the devices operating in accordance with previously programmed instructions and with current information. Such control is aimed at ensuring economic functioning of the building by reasonable and sound management of its resources (chiefly the energy) and to guarantee safety and comfort of the inhabitants. Examples of realization of these functions are presented, together with the computation - visualization software. The DomoSim visualization - designing software is characterized, that is intended for control and automation purposes. Applications of the discussed systems in Energy-Saving Intelligent Houses (ESH) have been presented.

The article presents a discussion about intelligent packaging for monitoring and providing information about the product, its quality and exposures during transportation, storage, retail and usage. Intelligent packaging is defined as any packaging containing internal or external indicator which changes its properties by external conditions (e.g. temperature) or changes inside the packaging (e.g. Presence of metabolites produced during products’ aging). The author presents the principle of operation of indicators along with different examples (quality, temperature and time (TTI), presence of gas). Introduction of new technologies of preparing intelligent elements e.g. by printing, thus lowering cost of manufacturing, will support their more common use.

Opis:
Methods of developing and functioning of intelligent decision support systems based on precedents applying adaptive ontology that are part of intelligent agents are analyzed. Method of distance defi nition between precedens and current situation based on adaptive ontology is developed. Using mathematical tools of the dynamic programming for modelling of intelligent system functioning is considered. Simplifying the task model is proposed to weigh signs of ontology concepts. Examples of such problems for six processes concerning metal structures protection and maximizing their lifetime are presented.

Celem artykułu jest analiza uwarunkowań polityki inteligentnego rozwoju ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem inteligentnych specjalizacji. Przedmiotem badań podjętych w artykule są prawne uwarunkowania inteligentnego rozwoju, związane z unijną perspektywą finansową 2014-2020; w szczególności odniesiono się do unijnej Strategii Europa 2020, polskiej Strategii Rozwoju Kraju 2020, strategii zintegrowanych i umowy partnerstwa. Wskazano ponadto rolę programów operacyjnych w realizacji polityki inteligentnego rozwoju, a zwłaszcza Programu Operacyjnego Inteligentny Rozwój. Na tym tle przedstawiono koncepcję inteligentnych specjalizacji jako klucza do inteligentnego rozwoju.
The purpose of the paper is to analyze the conditions of intelligent development policy with a special inclusion of intelligent specializations. The subject of research undertaken in the article are the legal conditions of intelligent development connected with EU financial perspective for the years 2014-2020, in particular it was related to the Europe 2020 strategy, integrated strategies and partnership agreement. Furthermore, the role of operational programs was indicated in conducting the intelligent development policy, especially the Intelligent Development Operational Program. On this basis the concept of intelligent specializations was presented as a key to intelligent development.

The purpose of this research is to identify the essence and features that allow for the identification of intelligent organisations and an assessment of their maturity, taking their competitive advantages into account. In addition, it aims at formulating recommendations on how to study intelligent organisations while considering competitive advantages and monitored changes in this area. A hypothesis is formed that the intelligent organisation is a source of competitive advantage for companies. These advantages are not permanent, though. The article is based on a critical review of national and foreign literature, as well as experience resulting from direct involvement and observations while participating in research focused on intelligent organisations. The research was a part of the Żagle Biznesu (Sails of Business) competition organised by the SGH Warsaw School of Economics in 2018 and 2019. According to the author, an intelligent organisation is one where decision-making is based on collecting, analysing, interpreting, sharing and storing valuable data and information, which can be used at the right time to solve problems and generate the competitive advantage of a company. The type of leadership and emotional intelligence of key people involved have a great impact on the development opportunities of companies creating intelligent organisations. In small companies, apart from a strong dependence on the type of leadership and focusing on a particular type of innovation, there is a lack of development strategy. Poor awareness of the need for development, as well as vulnerability to internal and external shocks (volatility), causes instability in previously achieved levels of intelligence. Small companies in a type of intelligent organisation can compete in the operational sphere, based on such factors as technology, quick response, good timing and better dealing with individual customers. At the same time, small companies can strengthen their competitive advantages related to costs and quality through dedicated operating systems in a way which is typical of large companies. Although these advantages are not permanent, some of them may be duplicated and modified.

The work is concerned with principles of design of "intelligent" sets of springs with a priori determined structure (the so called differential set of springs). Certain interesting properties can be obtained in such sets considering the termal influence of the environment. These properties enable realisation of the selfcompensation function or even amplification of loading applied to the set in higher and varying temperatures, and to create the drive function of the linear motor while producing pulsatory temperatures changes. The problem of loading selfcompensation has been solved considering the temperature changes of the shear modulus or the stress relaxation. The drive function enables one to apply the differential set of springs together with the spring made of shape memory alloy (SMA) to create a unique linear pulse micromotor. The SMA spring, activated thermally, operates as an actuator assuring pulse changes of the deflection in the differential set. These changes together with the undirectional mechanism constitute the principle of operation of the micromotor robot that moves inside a tube).
"Inteligentne konstrukcje" spężyn. Przedmiotem pracy są podstawy projektowania "inteligentnej konstrukcji" zespołu spężyn o określonej a priori strukturze tzw. różnicowego układu sprężyn. W tych zespołach można ukształtować interesujące właściwości przy cieplnym oddziaływaniu środowiska. Umożliwiają one realizację funkcji samokompensacji, a nawet wzmocnienia, obciążenia zespołu w podwyższonych i zmiennych temperaturach oraz funkcję napędu silnika liniowego przy wywołaniu pulsacyjnych zmian temperatury. Rozwiązano zadania samokompensacji obciążenia przy oddziaływaniu na sprężyny zespołu zjawiska zmian temperaturowych modułu sprężystości lub zjawiska relaksacji naprężeń. Funkcja napędowa pozwala zastosować analizowany zespół różnicowy ze spężyną z pamięcią kształtu SMA do budowy oryginalnego pulsacyjnego mikrosilnika liniowego. Aktywowana termicznie lub elektrycznie sprężyna SMa jest aktuatorem, zapewniającym pulsacyjne zmainy ugięcia w zespole różnicowym, które wraz z mechanizmem jednokierunkowym tworzą zasadę działania mikrosilnika (robota poruszającego się we wnętrzu rury).

Turystyka to jedna z dziedzin gospodarki, która w ostatnich latach rozwija się bardzo dynamicznie. Przykładem tego rozwoju jest Podhale a w szczególności Zakopane, na terenie którego ten rozwój jest szczególnie widoczny. Podhale jest jednym z kilku regionów na terenie Polski, na obszarze którego, na przestrzeni historii wytworzył się specyficzny, unikalny styl architektoniczny, ujawniający się przede wszystkim w budownictwie i sztuce ludowej. Dostrzec można w tym rejonie przykłady działań zmierzających do próby wypracowania nowoczesnych form architektonicznych, które z jednej strony uszanowałyby specyficzny klimat tego regionu, a z drugiej wprowadziły formy współczesne, nowoczesne technologie, które na równi z architekturą regionalną charakteryzowałyby budownictwo tego regionu. W artykule przedstawione zostały zagadnienia, które muszą rozwiązać współcześni projektanci i budowniczowie podczas realizacji współczesnych obiektów usługowych związanych z obsługą turystyczną.
Tourism has been one of the most dynamically developing branches of the economy in recent years. One example of this development is the region of Podhale, and the town of Zakopane in particular, in the area of which this is especially apparent. Podhale is one of the few regions in Poland in which, over the course of history, a distinct and unique architectural style has developed, which particularly manifests itself in folk art and architecture. In this region we can observe examples of attempts aimed at developing modern architectural forms that are to respect the distinct climate of this region on the one hand, while introducing modern forms and new technologies on the other, as something that is meant to characterise the buildings of this region equally to regional architecture. The article presents the problems that modern designers and builders must face while constructing modern commercial buildings associated with tourism.

In this paper the author presents an idea of the intelligent ship maneuvering prediction system with the usage of neuroevolution. This may be also be seen as the ship handling system that simulates a learning process of an autonomous control unit, created with artificial neural network. The control unit observes input signals and calculates the values of required parameters of the vessel maneuvering in confined waters. In neuroevolution such units are treated as individuals in population of artificial neural networks, which through environmental sensing and evolutionary algorithms learn to perform given task efficiently. The main task of the system is to learn continuously and predict the values of a navigational parameters of the vessel after certain amount of time, regarding an influence of its environment. The result of a prediction may occur as a warning to navigator to aware him about incoming threat.

The goal of IPATS is to personalize Air Transportation System and fill the communication gap, which exists on interregional national and European destinations with underdeveloped transport network, located in a distance longer than 300 km, and where implementation of others modes of fast transport (high-speed rail, traditional airlines) is irrational due to too low flow density travel and where road transport is too disadvantageous in individual, social as well as ecological dimension. An intelligent BRT system is necessary when communities looking for new ways to use high capacity rapid transit at a reduced cost. This paper will describe the intelligent control system that works with Datacenter. With the help of GPS system, the data center can monitor the situation of each bus and bus station. Through RFID technology, bus station and traffic light can transfer data with bus and by Wimax communication technology all of parts can talk together; data center learns all information about the location of bus, the arrival of bus in each station and the number of passengers in station and bus. Finally, the paper presents the case study of those theories in Tehran BRT.

Unmanned manufacturing systems has recently gained great interest due to the ever increasing requirements of optimized machining for the realization of the fourth industrial revolution in manufacturing ‘Industry 4.0’. Real-time tool condition monitoring (TCM) and adaptive control (AC) machining system are essential technologies to achieve the required industrial competitive advantage, in terms of reducing cost, increasing productivity, improving quality, and preventing damage to the machined part. New AC systems aim at controlling the process parameters, based on estimating the effects of the sensed real-time machining load on the tool and part integrity. Such an aspect cannot be directly monitored during the machining operation in an industrial environment, which necessitates developing new intelligent model-based process controllers. The new generations of TCM systems target accurate detection of systematic tool wear growth, as well as the prediction of sudden tool failure before damage to the part takes place. This requires applying advanced signal processing techniques to multi-sensor feedback signals, in addition to using ultra-high speed controllers to facilitate robust online decision making within the very short time span (in the order of 10 ms) for high speed machining processes. The development of new generations of Intelligent AC and TCM systems involves developing robust and swift communication of such systems with the CNC machine controller. However, further research is needed to develop the industrial internet of things (IIOT) readiness of such systems, which provides a tremendous potential for increased process reliability, efficiency and sustainability.

The article starts with stating the fact that today there is an increasing recognition of difficulties with Darwinism accompanied by vigorous responses on the part of Darwin’s defenders; among the instances of challenge to the dominant theory, one can find a book of Gilson, From Aristotle to Darwin and Back Again, and those behind the Intelligent Design movement. In relating the book of Gilson to the ID proponents, the author concludes that, while in some ways they are on the same side in opposing the anti-creation thrust of Darwinism, Gilson is neutral on the validity or truth of Darwin’s biological hypothesis. Gilson, however, whose book preceded the ID movement by some twenty years, seeks to analyze Darwinism from the perspective of the classical philosophy of nature. He well understands that, according to modern scientific method, final causes are excluded from consideration, but he calls for a biophilosophy which will be open to the reality of human experience as Aristotle was and recognize that teleology is present in nature. According to him, even if teleology seems to be a contestable explanation, chance as understood by Darwinists is the pure absence of explanation.

We describe in this paper a general overview oj the analysis and design of hybrid intelligent systems for pattern recognition applications. Hybrid intelligent systems can be developed by a careful combination of several soft-computing techniques. The combination of soft computing techniques has to take advantage of the capabilities of each technique in solving port of the pattern recognition problem. We review the problems of face, fingerprint and mice recognition and their soiution using hybrid intelligent systems. Recognition rates achieved with the hybrid approaches are comparable with the best approaches known for solving these recognition problems.

This article presents safety and intelligent control systems essential for safe and reliable operation of DC arc plasmatron. Presented methods and techniques are also applicable to other types of plasmatrons and devices. Author presents and describes subsystems of DC arc plasmatrons including its: start up and operation algorithms, detection of malfunction’s, control parameters and techniques for plasmatron operation. Moreover, issues and requirements identified in field operation are presented in case of plasmatron operation on site, communication and supervisory system for flexible integration of independent device in complex SCADA systems. Presented material covers also safety techniques, procedures and subsystems necessary for safe and reliable plasmatron operation, with examples of experience in plasmatrons applications. Presented in this article plasmatrons control and safety systems with theirs functions together with operation algorithms were applied and validated in constructed and operated plasmatrons. Plasmatrons were tested in different environments. For example in the plasmatron plasma reactor where three 20 kW plasmatrons were used and installed directly in high temperature refractory that consisted of plasma incineration and smelting of metals chamber.

The article presents the application capabilities of the LOGO! controller produced by the Siemens company with respect to heating control in an automated “intelligent building”. The wide range of capabilities of the logic controller finds its reflection in practical implementation, as illustrated by means of a computer simulation example prepared in the LOGO! Soft Comfort v6.0 program. The work presents a comparative analysis of two programs serving two-stage heating control: with and without hysteresis, as well as a control program for an “intelligent” holiday cottage. The article also presents the results of parameter calculations for the B007 analog adapter, based on the examples of sample heating curve characteristics. The wide range of capabilities of the logic controller finds its practical implementation on the basis of examples of PI controller operation simulations in the LOGO! Soft Comfort v6.0 program.

Order and change in nature have been for a long time understood in philosophy and theology as founded in divine reason. In the neo-Darwinist theory of evolution, their explanation is reduced to material change without reason. Molecular biologists like M. Behe and W. Demski argue that any reductionist explanation of living beings must be wrong. The evolution of irreducible complex structures is impossible on the basis of random variation and natural selection alone, and must be the result of intelligent design. The article argues that ID-theory, unlike Biblical Creationism, is a challenge for neo-Darwinism and for modern theology as well—for, unlike the Roman magisterium, many Catholic theologians try to harmonize reductive explanation with the notion of creation.

The paper characterizes some selected aspects of intelligent building technology. Various functions are described that enable optimal controlling of the devices operating in accordance with previously programmed instructions and with current information. Such control is aimed at ensuring economic functioning of the building by reasonable and sound management of its resources (chiefly the energy) and to guarantee safety and comfort of the inhabitants. Examples of realization of these functions are presented, together with the computation - visualization software. The DomoSim visualization - designing software is characterized, that is intended for control and automation purposes.

This paper presents a deep learning-based road recognition strategy for advanced suspension systems. A four-quarter suspension model with a magnetorheological (MR) damper is developed, and four typical road images with corresponding roughness data are collected. A back-propagation neural network based autoencoder and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) are utilized to form the deep learning structure. By utilizing the multi-object genetic algorithm, the optimal parameters can be obtained, and the control current can be adaptively adjusted. Simulation results indicate that the designed structure can identify the road type accurately, and the recognition-based control strategy can improve the suspension performance effectively.

Opis:
Utilization of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces is a topic that is very interesting in the context of complex radio environments, especially those used in dense urban areas. By relying on simple solutions to control the angle of reflection of the signal from the surface, different effects may be achieved in radio communication systems. Maximization or minimization of the received power at specific locations near the reflecting surface is the most important effect. This phenomenon allows to: receive a signal at a location at which it could not be received previously, detect spectrum occupancy at a place where the sensor could not perform a correct detection, or minimize interference affecting a specific receiver. In this paper, all three concepts are presented and a simple ray tracing simulation is used to show the potential profits attainable in each of the scenarios. Additionally, a scenario was analyzed in which several of the aforementioned situations are combined.

This paper presents a probabilistic model in managing intelligent internal transport based on decision making risk. The term reliability of an internal transport denotes failure-free operating time of internal transport as compared to the entire time particular transport is supposed to operate correctly. This paper illustrates a model of risk evaluation in internal transport operation based on probability that the system will reliably function within particular time, in a particular environment for specific purposes. Building probabilistic models used to calculate the risk of production planning is based on a reliable analysis of all possible aspects of producing a particular economic good. Modelling evaluates strengths and weaknesses of an enterprise which would like to complete a transport task, plans a transport processes based on the most important goals originating from the transport process.
