Opis:

The purpose of this research is to review a sample of literature in the area of supply chain integration. Considering the extensive amount of literature on supply chain integration, it appears that it is still in its infancy. This study reviews a sample of 152 articles and in doing so throw light on different aspects of supply chain integration namely: vertical integration, functional integration, integration models .It discusses and criticizes the current state of literature on this context so that future researches find directions to contribute to missing points and remove obstacles. The scope of this review is limited to a cross-section of the literature in this area. As such, it cannot, and does not, attempt to be an examination of the full range of the literature, but a sampling of important and influential works.

As of today, most of the data processing systems have to deal with a large amount of data originated from numerous sources. Data sources almost always differ regarding its purpose of existence. Thus model, data processing engine and technology differ intensely. Due to current trend for systems fusion there is a growing demand for data to be present in a common way regardless of its legacy. Many systems have been devised as a response to such integration needs. However, the present data integration systems mostly are dedicated solutions that bring constraints and issues when considered in general. In this paper we will focus on the present solutions for data integration, their flaws originating from their architecture or design concepts and present an abstract and general approach that could be introduced as an response to existing issues. The system integration is considered out of scope for this paper, we will focus particularly on efficient data integration.

Opis:

The major aim of this study was to establish the relationship between functional integration and competitive advantage of food and beverages manufacturing firms in Kenya. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey. The target population was managers working along the supply chain from 270 food and beverage manufacturing firms in Kenya. The two-stage sampling design was employed. The first stage, cluster random sampling, obtained 73 food & beverages manufacturing firms. Second stage, convenience sampling, selected two participants from the 73 selected firms. Thus, a sample size of 146. Questionnaires were used to collect primary data using both the drop and pick and mailing methods. Secondary data was obtained through document analysis. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 28 to generate descriptive and inferential statistics. The study found that functional integration had a positive significant linear relationship with a competitive advantage. Additionally, the competitive advantage is anticipated to grow for every unit increase in functional integration. Thus, the study concludes that the parameters of functional integration are crucial in enhancing a company's competitive advantage in the food and beverage industry. Consequently, the study recommends that improvements in integrating functions internally should be strategically implemented.

The idea of social integration and integration education is a great challenge not only for the Polish education system, but also for theoretical analyzes and systemic practical solutions aimed at building an integrated society. In relation to people with disabilities is not only an exemplification of the provisions contained in the “Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities” (UN, 2006). It also concerns the change in the social vision of the accessibility of these people to structures existing in contemporary, disability-opening civilized society. However, as demonstrated by the results of research reported in the article, there is still a lot to be done by implementing the postulates created by the ideas of integrating people regardless of their diversity, otherness, physical, mental, and social difference.

The aim of the article is to present and evaluate the main activities that support the education of immigrant children in Poland and in selected European countries as well as to compare the models of integration in the field of the education of immigrant children in respective countries.The article uses the following methods: critical analysis of the literature and deductive reasoning techniques. The paper consists of three parts. The first part presents the role of education in integration policy and the objectives of the main models of integration in the area of the education of immigrant children. The second part presents legal regulations and key data relevant to immigrant children in Polish schools. The third part of the article presents integration models in European countries and compares the models of integration in Poland and in other European countries. The research hypothesis is the following: education of immigrant children as an important aspect of the policy of integration is characterised by diversified activities in respective European countries.

Aim. This research paper discusses the educational process of immigrant children in Lithuania with the intention to determine the integration trajectory most likely to be chosen by the immigrant students. Methods. The research methods include legal analysis of Lithuanian legislations related to immigration, immigrant integration and education, meta-analysis of previous research on immigrant integration into Lithuanian society as well as semi-structured interviews with experts of the field. Results. Having completed the research, the following conclusion has been drawn: immigrant children education in Lithuania does not tend to create conditions for successful integration and more often than not influences immigrant students to choose those integration paths that may inspire inner or outer conflict. This is due to the lack of integration policy and strategy at the state level as well as the tendency to create a cultural hierarchy wherein the Lithuanian culture is implicitly considered as above others. Practical application. The results of the research can be used to improve the conditions of immigrant children education in Lithuanian schools on the national level as well as by schools willing to foster the integration of immigrant students; the results can also be considered in the process of establishing integration policy on the state level.

Opis:

Transport strategy in European Union supports public transport against individual transport. The reason is using of public transport is possible to fulfil all the goals of the EU strategy in the field of road safety. The paper deals with the issue of supporting public passenger transport and it is integration with the aim of ensuring the sustainable mobility of population. The aim of this paper is to identify the importance of public passenger transport and define method for creating effective integrated transport systems. The paper points to the importance of public passenger transport and the reasons why the population prefers cars. Based on the analysis, it is arguable that public passenger transport without mutual integration is not capable enough to compete with individual motoring. Contribution proposes the process integration of public passenger transport as a key elements in increasing road safety. Contribution confirms the hypothesis that the integration of public passenger transport and achieving a higher use of public passenger transport of population can contribute to improving of road safety.

Opis:

The paper aims at analysing the determinants of regional economic integration in Sub-Saharan Africa in relation to the European model of integration, perceived as a benchmark for the region. The paper employs analytic-descriptive analysis, using national and international literature sources and statistical data of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development – UNCTAD. Research results show that regional integration processes in Africa are determined by natural conditions, economic and political determinants, as well as by adopted model of integration. As integration effects in Africa prove to be highly unsatisfactory, a critical review of adopted integration model seems to be necessary. International institutions should also verify their approach to African integration in order to provide this continent with an optimal balance between local regionalism and economic globalization.

The aim of the paper is to present issues related to the approach to the integration of immigrants in Poland in the last three decades. The article is seeking an answer to the question of how the approach to immigrant integration has evolved? Does the evolving approach reflect the rising tide of change taking place in Europe? First, the article discusses the issues of migration to Poland. It is essential to consider cultural conditions related to the national identity and migration history of a given country in an attempt to explain the evolution of the integration policy. The subsequent parts analyze the Polish integration policy until 2015 and the integration policy after 2015. The results of the research show that in Poland, the approach to the integration of immigrants has evolved in a short time: from the “strategy of abandonment” to “integration” understood as a two-way process of adaptation to the concept of assimilation.

Opis:

The article demonstrates the expediency of integrating of knowledge of the structure and properties of substance and building materials. It is shown that this approach avoids duplication of related material, overcomes inconsistency in the interpretation of concepts, the use of quantities and units of their measurements. Didactic requirements for the implementation of the ideas of integrated learning of related material are substantiated, the integrated content of knowledge of the substance and materials is worked out, different forms and methods of knowledge integration are tested depending on the nature of the integrated material. Special feedback from teachers of special technology and masters of industrial training is received. The training offered by our programs also receives a positive assessment of the students due to the decrease in the workload, the reduction of homework with the same educational significance, the availability of special concepts, the emergence of interest in the study of physics. The experiment reveals that integrated lessons, lectures, laboratory and tests, as well as integrated questions, tasks with integrated content, concretization and supplementation of physical knowledge with general and special ones, use of complex tasks, etc. are found to be effective forms of knowledge integration. Generalization of the results of the experimental work shows the benefits of learning oriented programs that involve the integration of students’ knowledge about the structure and properties of substance and building materials. It is important not to overburden any educational process with excessive integration, but to focus on its optimal use: in fact, the laws of educational integrology are aimed at it.

The three concepts of migration — ecumenism — integration are rich in meaning. What is important is their order, the hierarchy of their occurrence. Migration is more or less any movement of people, individuals or whole groups. Ecumenism is in turn an appeal and an action. Its mission/task is to recognize in a certain group of people a religious difference and to make an effort to place it in an integral whole with other people who believe a little differently, but in the same God. Integration has the task of restoring or building an integral whole from people living in a particular territory. Full integration is called individual or collective identity. Since migration violates — to a greater or lesser extent — the individual or collective identity of both the country that receives immigrants and the immigrants themselves, integration aims to rebuild it, but no longer within the same mental structures, but rather ones enriched with new impulses that are the contribution of immigrants. The foundation — in our context, it is about faith in the God of Jesus Christ — remains unchanged, yet the superstructure undergoes some changes.
I tre concetti: migrazione, ecumenismo e integrazione sono ricchi di significato. Il loro ordine e la gerarchia sono importanti. La migrazione è più o meno la libera circolazione delle persone, dei singoli o di interi gruppi. L’ecumenismo, a sua volta, è un appello e un’azione. La sua missione/compito è la necessità di riconoscere persone che rappresentano un’altra religione e di fare tentativi/sforzi per integrarle in un insieme con persone che credono in modo un po’ diverso, ma nello stesso Dio. L’integrazione è ripristinare o costruire un insieme integrale con persone che vivono in un dato territorio. La piena integrazione si chiama identità — individuale o collettiva. Poiché la migrazione disturba - in misura maggiore o minore — l’identità individuale o collettiva sia del Paese che accoglie gli emigrati che quella degli stessi immigrati, l’integrazione mira quindi a ricostruirla, ma non nelle strutture mentali esistenti, ma arricchita di nuovi impulsi che sono contributo degli immigrati. Il fondamento/la base — nel nostro contesto, si tratta della fede nel Dio di Gesù Cristo — rimane invariato, mentre cambia la sovrastruttura.
Les trois concepts de migration, d’oecuménisme et d’intégration sont riches de sens. Leur ordre et leur hiérarchie sont importants. La migration est plus ou moins le déplacement plus ou moins libre de personnes, d’individus ou de groupes entiers. L’oecuménisme, quant à lui, est un appel et une action. Sa mission/tâche est la nécessité de représenter une minorité religieuse par rapport aux communautés existantes et de faire des tentatives/efforts pour les incorporer dans un même ensemble avec les personnes qui croient un peu différemment, mais au même Dieu. L’intégration consiste à restaurer ou à construire un tout intégral à partir des personnes vivant sur un territoire donné. L’intégration complète est appelée identité — individuelle ou collective. Puisque la migration perturbe plus ou moins l’identité individuelle ou collective du pays d’accueil et des immigrés eux-mêmes, l’intégration vise donc à la reconstruire, non pas dans les structures mentales existantes, mais dans une structure enrichie de nouvelles impulsions qui sont les contributions des immigrés. La base/le fondement — dans notre contexte, il s’agit de la foi dans le Dieu de Jésus-Christ — reste inchangée, tandis que la superstructure connaît un certain changement.

Combining data from diverse, heterogeneous sources while facilitating a unified access to it is an important (albeit difficult) task. There are various possibilities of performing it. In this publication, we propose and describe an agent-based framework dedicated to acquiring and processing distributed, heterogeneous data collected from diverse sources (e.g., the Internet, external software, relational, and document databases). Using this multi-agent-based approach in the aspects of the general architecture (the organization and management of the framework), we create a proof-of-concept implementation. The approach is presented using a sample scenario in which the system is used to search for personal and professional profiles of scientists.

Data integration is a crucial issue in the environments of heterogeneous data sources. At present, the afore-mentioned heterogeneity is becoming widespread. Based on various data sources, if we want to gain useful information and knowledge, we must solve data integration problems in order to apply appropriate analytical methods to comprehensive and uniform data. Such activity is known as knowledge discovery from the data process. Therefore, approaches to the data integration problem are very interesting and bring us closer to the “age of information”. This paper presents an architecture which implements knowledge discovery from the data process. The solution combines ETL technology and a wrapper layer known from mediated systems. It also provides semantic integration through connection mechanism between data elements. Purpose: The purpose of the article is to establish the place of Ukraine on the process of European integration and the identification of obstacles to full membership in the European Union. Design/methodology/approach: The methodological and theoretical basis of the article is the fundamental provisions of economic theory, the works of scientists and economists in the field of international economic relations and integration. Findings: The article explores the problems of Ukraine’s integration into the EU. The study analyzed the attitude of Ukrainians towards European integration, identified the main arguments for and against accession to the EU countries, as well as the main internal and external threats of the integration process. It has been determined that in recent years the proportion of the population that has supported Ukraine’s accession to the EU has significantly increased. From the integration into the EU, Ukrainians primarily expect to expand the space of their own capabilities and the country's internal development in accordance with modern world trends. It is concluded that the population considers a high level of corruption in the country, problems in the Donbass and the inefficiency of public administration as the main obstacles to this process. Most residents of Ukraine consider it necessary to implement European reforms, but the consequence of their implementation has identified significant problems in terms of their real social effect. It is determined that Ukraine in some macroeconomic indicators lags significantly behind the EU countries, continues to lose its position in the global ranking of countries in terms of economic competitiveness, and remains one of the poorest countries in Europe. A significant problem for the development of Ukraine is the labor migration of the population and, in particular, the increase in the number of illegal migrants - Ukrainians in Europe. The main achievements in the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU are analyzed and the main threats to the further European integration are identified. It is concluded that Ukraine needs to develop its own “action plan” for the possibility of realizing national interests, taking into account the interests of the parties involved in the integration process. Originality/value: The mood of Ukrainian society, the current position of the state, the main obstacles and priorities that Ukraine faces on the way to the EU have been analysed in detail.

Ponad połowa fuzji i przejęć kończy się zniszczeniem wartości (value destruction) dla akcjonariuszy. W długim okresie – ponad 5 lat – tylko niektóre fuzjei przejęcia wnoszą wartość dodaną dla obu stron transakcji. Integracja – spółki przejmowanej do aktywów nabywcy po połączeniu – jest jednym z problemów związanych z tworzeniem wartości (value creation) w transakcjach fuzji i przejęć. Większość członków kierownictwa zaangażowanych w proces M&A koncentruje się na procesie badania spółki (due dilligience) lub aspektach proceduralnych „zakupu”. Przygotowanie odpowiedniego planu integracji dla firmy często jest elementem odkładanym na później, a jest on jednym z kluczowych elementów procesu przejęcia. Należy podkreślić, że istnieje szereg kluczowych aspektów, które należy wziąć pod uwagę – od ustalenia celów i wskaźników efektywności dla kadry kierowniczej po zrozumienie „ekosystemu”, w którym działa firma i jej interesariuszy. Komunikacja jest także jednym z wiodących problemów w integracji po fuzji i przejęciach. W ostatnich latach pojawiła się nowa koncepcja tymczasowych menedżerów (interim manager). Osoba odpowiedzialna za projekt integracji bywa nazywana menedżerem integracji (post-M&A manager). Osoba taka może zostać oddelegowana zarówno na stanowisko członka zarządu ds. finansowych jak i operacyjnych czy handlowych. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest wyjaśnienie znaczenia procesu integracji po połączeniu, a także przybliżenie roli menedżera integracji.
More than a half of M&A’s ends as value destruction for shareholders. In a long period (over 5 years) only come M&A’s bring value creation for both side of thetransaction. M&A post- merger integration is one of the issues regarding sucesful M&A value creation. Most of the executive who are involved in M&A process is focused on due dilligence or „buying” aspects. However preparing a proper integration plan for a company might be even more important than due dilligence and Sales-Purchase Agreement negotiation process. It must be underlined that there is a plenty of key aspects than must be taken into consideration – from setting the right KPI’s for executive to understanding ‘the ecosystem’ and stakeholders. Communication is also one of the leading problems when it comes to post-M&A integration. In the recent years new idea of interim managers or executives has been arised. The interim executive come to the company and prepare and supervise whole process of integration. The purpose of the article is to explain importance of post-merger integration process as well as bring idea of post-merger integration manager.

This paper is a presentation of the results of a questionnaire whose main aim was to get acquainted with the opinions of Ukrainians studying at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Cracow University about their academic integration at the above mentioned university. In theoretical terms the article presented the defi nition of integration, its various kinds, dimensions and factors. The study in question was conducted by means of an interview where the questions involved the following things: Are the respondents happy about studying in Poland? What difficulties do they encounter? What reactions do they get to their ethnic dissimilarity? How do they perceive Poles? What differences do they see between Poles and Ukrainians? It appeared that the respondents realized different models of integration, however the proposition being the result of the study is to create a lot of space for dialogue and integration for both Polish and Ukrainian students.

Differentiated integration is often considered ‘integration gone wrong’ and not a normal and permanent feature of the ever larger and more heterogeneous European Union. With the growing impact of the widening, deepening and politicization dynamics, the Union has been conceptualized as a ‘system of differentiated integration’. At the same time, concerns over ‘disintegration’ are mounting. In this light it seems crucial to refl ect on the relationship between differentiation and disintegration: does the former lead to the latter? Should we prevent further differentiation, or promote it as means of making the EU more successful? On one hand, European integration theories provide few adequate answers on the mechanisms and conditions for disintegration. On the other hand, analysis of other regional organizations puts the European dilemma into perspective, and it seems that the existence of various forms of differentiation does not prevent successful cooperation.

The subject of the considerations undertaken in the article is evaluation and analysis of integration policy, i.e. the one that concerns the integration of foreigners. Integration is understood as a dynamic, two-way process of mutual accommodation by all immigrants and residents of the European Union Member States (EU MS). The article aims at deepening the reflection on what it means to evaluate and analyse the integration policy defined this way as well as presenting the attempts to develop relevant frameworks in selected EU Member States.

The article examines some new trends among retail chains operating in Poland, in particular what is known as concentration and integration. The analysis was made with the desk research method on the basis of statistical data reported by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). The author also used data from league tables ranking the country’s largest businesses and statistics on the development of retail centers in the country. The study confirms that Poland’s retail trade sector has undergone far-reaching concentration and integration over the past several years. Changes have primarily included a growing number of mergers and acquisitions and the substitution of organizational integration with financial ties. These trends have been especially widespread among businesses with Polish capital, but they have also applied to foreign-owned companies, some of which have withdrawn from the Polish market, the author says. The current course of concentration and integration processes in Poland’s retail trade seems to indicate that the sector’s future development will see more mergers and acquisitions and further development of retail centers, Maleszyk says. These trends are in line with what is happening in highly developed countries, the author concludes.

Aim/purpose - The purpose of this paper is to analyze regional trade integration of 10 Central and Eastern Europe countries (CEE-10) during the 2004-2018 period, identify regional- and country-level integration patterns and attribute them to potential causes indicated by the literature. Design/methodology/approach - The paper employed literature-based trade integration indicators to data on CEE-10 trade in goods and conducted a review of empirical studies investigating trade integration determinants in CEE. Findings - The results evidence an advancing regional trade integration with decreasing pace in recent years. The study has found all CEE countries to be more integrated with the region. Moreover, several integration patterns have been distinguished. Research implications/limitations - The study found a significant literature gap concerning CEE regional trade integration and its determinants. Its limitations refer to: lack of product-groups-level trade data and narrow scope of trade flows (in goods only). Originality/value/contribution - The paper's value-added stems from a multi-perspective analysis of the CEE regional trade integration and a discussion of region- and country-level integration patterns.

The article attempts to analyse the Polish experience relating to the integration of immigrants in a broad macro-historical context, mainly European. Awareness that immigrant integration takes place at a local level has been growing for several years. Immigration policy debates and decisions mostly occur at the national level, but the question of how to implement immigrant integration policy is much more urgent at a local level. The purpose of the article is to present the multidimensionality of integration actions as well as examples of projects considered to be “best practices” that are carried out today at the local level in German and UK cities of different sizes. The countries chosen have long histories of immigration and have developed significantly different approaches to immigration issues, nevertheless local experiences (in both countries) highlight not only differences but also similarities in immigrant integration policy. The surveys presented help us to understand that immigrant integration is a complicated process that can be stimulated in various ways, and that there is no single way to introduce policy towards immigrants.

The paper pays attention to the increasing number of systems working on transport objects, as well as to the results of their implementation. System integration is proposed as one of the ways to increase functionality and safety of transport telematic systems. The paper defines and describes integration process and names its main purposes. In a similar way it presents two selected airport’s systems, used as an example in order to show the influence of integration and the difference between independent subsystems and the integrated unit. At the same time it pays special attention to benefits arising from integration according to limitation of systems’ inputs and outputs, which results in limitation of unnecessary repetitions of the same information as well as to repetitions of the same algorithms (elaborations of system’s outputs) in different subsystems. Finally effects of subsystems’ integration are presented according to the telematic services they realise.

Artykuł przedstawia teoretyczne odniesienia związane z integracją osób niepełnosprawnych. W szczególności koncentruje się na samym pojęciu integracja, prawach osób niepełnosprawnych oraz integracji w edukacji. Przytoczono również wyniki badań pilotażowych, które potwierdzają fakt, że klasy integracyjne spełniają swoje funkcje, a mianowicie dają szansę pełnego rozwoju uczniom niepełnosprawnym oraz możliwość nawiązywania przez nich właściwych relacji społecznych ze zdrowymi rówieśnikami. Autorka zaproponowała również, by potraktować społeczeństwo jako całość, bez podziału na zdrowych i chorych, co spowoduje, iż zniknie wiele barier utrudniających traktowanie wszystkich ludzi jako pełnoprawnych członków tej samej społeczności.
In this article the author presents the theoretical references related to the integrationof people with disabilities. In particular, focuses on the notion of integration, the rights ofpersons with disabilities and integration in education. Also covers the results of pilot studiesthat confirm the fact that the integrated classes fulfill its function, namely, give a chance tothe full development of students with disabilities and the ability to establish their proper socialrelationships with healthy peers. The author has also proposed to treat society asa whole, without division into healthy and sick. That could help to disappear many of barriersfor all people and help them to be a full members of the same community.

A simple and fast algorithm is presented for evaluating the indefinite integral of an oscillatory function $\int_x^yi f(t) e^{iωt} dt$, -1 ≤ x < y ≤ 1, ω ≠ 0, where the Chebyshev series expansion of the function f is known. The final solution, expressed as a finite Chebyshev series, is obtained by solving a second-order linear difference equation. Because of the nature of the equation special algorithms have to be used to find a satisfactory approximation to the integral.

The purpose of the article is to reconstruct the reasons why Polish immigrants in Iceland want to apply for Icelandic citizenship. As a result of the analysis, four main motivations for adopting Icelandic citizenship were distinguished: 1) the possibility of visa-free travel to the USA; 2) applying for citizenship "just in case"; 3) obtaining rights that only the Icelanders have and 4) the ability to decide about the fate of the community in which immigrants live. The analysis is based on semi-structured in-depth interviews carried out in Iceland in 2014.

Opis:

The aim of this article is to discuss the dilemmas over the integration of accounting in EU member states. The dilemma could be divided into the following main groups. Dilemma of the user of financial statements. This dilemma consists in determining for whom the integration of accounting in EU is crucial, and who is the intended beneficiary of integration. Dilemma arising from the lack of theoretical framework for drafting directives and standards: the accounting paradigm assuming that accounting is strictly quantitative. Accounting is a social science, whereas the accounting practice has greater influence on social, rather than purely economic, reality. Dilemma over legal regulations and the legitimization of standard setters could be attributed to accounting regulations as legal norms. A classic example of this might be the transition from rule-based to principle-based IFRSs. The dilemma over the legitimization of standard setters has its roots in the legal aspect of accountancy. In order to solve it, it is necessary to answer the question: ‘who controls the processes of accounting integration?’ since the participants of this process often present divergent viewpoints, and sometimes even opposite priorities. Dilemma over the politicization of accountancy. The more globalized and complex the economic environment is, the more of political intervention there is expected to be in the standard setting process, affected by global geopolitical trends.

In the current context of increased attention to the Muslim minority and the religiously framed conflicts of some segments of Islam, this paper aims to contribute with empirical evidence on Muslim “problematicity” in Madrid, exploring their main barriers to social integration by analyzing the data from semi-structured interviews with Muslim leaders. Although the Muslim minority is officially recognized by the Spanish State, the legal provisions are not fully implemented. The lack of implementation hinders the Muslims’ proper social integration in Madrid and reveals the first category of problems identified, of operational character, which – with the proper implementation of the agreement – could be easily solved. Furthermore, the second type of problems emerges and refers to the increased concern on Muslim youth. The ongoing tensions between the majority and Muslim minorities, altogether with the tensions between Muslim parents and Muslim youth pose significant challenges to the latter and to the Spanish society as a whole, in long term, especially with the rise of the radicalization of Muslim youth.

The turn of the century has brought the issue of internal displacement to the forefront of the international agenda, recognising it as a matter of global concern. Scholarly research has also taken an interest, examining important aspects such as the integration of internally displaced persons into their resettlement areas. This paper examines the case of Greek-Cypriot ‘refugees’, a population which has experienced internal displacement for the past 50 years. Despite enjoying certain privileges granted by the Greek-Cypriot government and sharing a common language, religion and cultural practices with the non-displaced population, oral narratives collected and analysed in this study reveal a complex interaction with non-refugees during resettlement. These narratives highlight the challenges of internal displacement and emphasise that a shared ethnicity alone is insufficient to ensure social inclusion. In order to comprehend these complexities, the paper sought to engage with theories of refugee integration, with this engagement revealing the limitations of indicator-oriented conceptualisations in cases of internal displacement. The way in which these oral narratives contradict an observable indicator such as ethnicity is a point which we should take into serious consideration.

Artykuł prezentuje wyniki analizy demograficznych uwarunkowań gotowości młodzieży do integracji szkolnej z rówieśnikami z niepełnosprawnością. W badaniach uczestniczyło 422 uczniów liceum. Wyniki badań ujawniły istotną rolę płci, miejsca zamieszkania oraz wykształce-nia ojca w określaniu dojrzałość badanych do uczestnictwa w integracyjnych formach edukacji.
The paper presents the results of a demographic analysis of the conditions of youth readiness for school integration of peers with disabilities. The study involved 422 high school students. The findings revealed the important role of gender, place of residence as well as the father's education in determining the maturity of the subjects to participate in integrative forms of education.

Opis:

Pedagogical foundations of integration processes in education are discussed in the article. The problem of determining the essence, goals and signifiance of integration in the educational process is investigated. Levels of integration are highlighted (level of interdisciplinary connections, didactic synthesis, integrity). The role of interdisciplinary connections of natural science disciplines as an objective factor in the formation of students’ competence and activation of their cognitive activity is substantiated. The genesis of the development of this concept is considered. The importance of interdisciplinary connections in the educational process is highlighted. In addition, the article focuses on the problem of determining the functions of interdisciplinary connections. The problem of classification of interdisciplinary connections is investigated.
Artykuł dotyczy pedagogicznych podstaw procesów integracyjnych w edukacji. Badany jest problem określania istoty, celów i poziomów integracji. Doceniono rolę interdyscyplinarnych powiązań nauk przyrodniczych jako obiektywnego czynnika kształtowania kompetencji uczniów i aktywizacji ich aktywności poznawczej. Uwzględniono genezę rozwoju tej koncepcji. Podkreślono kwestię znaczenia stosowania interdyscyplinarnych powiązań w procesie edukacyjnym. Stwierdzono także problem związany z definicją funkcji i klasyfikacją połączeń interdyscyplinarnych.

The aim of this paper is to characterize the problems of immigration and subsequent integration of foreigners in the Czech Republic. The starting point is a brief historical perspective on the development of migration policies of the Czech Republic and the development of immigration in recent years. The aspects discussed in particular are education and health care, as the main factors affecting the integration of immigrants. The analysis suggests a pivotal role of the state in the activities focused on the integration of foreigners, an important role is played by non-profit organizations. In the end of the paper attention is focused on the Czech public attitude to immigration. Active immigration policy in the Czech Republic began in 2003. Currently, integration is understood as an essential part of the immigration policy of the Government of the Czech Republic. Integration of foreigners into the Czech society is directly linked to the process of immigration and is crucial for the smooth immigrant participation in the local labor market and life in the country. The main problem is the lack of knowledge of the Czech language by adult immigrants and especially their children, lack of knowledge of the Czech language, which significantly complicates the possibility of integration into the Czech society. Access to health care is another critical area of integration.

Planning, including planning in logistics, consists the primary function of management, as it is logically and chronologically first in the management process. This paper is a report of some studies conducted by the author in the Roma community in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. After a brief introduction and characteristics of the surveyed group, the theoretical basis of the research and the methodological approach was presented. The project was supposed to be an attempt to show the difference between the education of Roma and of the dominant community in their country of residence. The research objective of the project was to identify the Roma perception of education and school duty, to identify and understand the relationship between the Roma identity and their relation to education and participation. Three areas were analysed: identities, culture, and education. The identification of their identities, their participation in culture and the education of the culturally dominant group are indicated. The conclusions concern the current situation of the Roma in these areas and possible recommendations or solutions for the future.

Artykuł dotyczy integracji transportu publicznego w regionie Koszyc na Słowacji. Autorzy skoncentrowali się na umiejscowieniu integracji taryfowej w procesie kalkulacji cen biletów. Jest to niezwykle trudna, a jednocześnie charakteryzująca się wieloma problemami, część procesu integracji. Obejmuje bowiem integrację odmiennych taryf i współdziałanie różnych środków transportu. Ponadto występuje problem tworzenia planów stref, dla których ustalane są ceny biletów umożliwiających przejazd przez określoną liczbę stref. Plany takie powinny być dogodne dla wszystkich pasażerów oraz zapewniać osiąganie celów polityki transportowej.

Jak zauważają M. Michałowska i R. Tomanek, problematyka integracji systemów transportowych nie jest nowym zagadnieniem badawczym, jednak w warunkach liberalizacji rynków transportowych nabiera szczególnego znaczenia. Pojęcie integracji jest stosowane w wielu aspektach i może odnosić się do wielu dziedzin życia społeczno-gospodarczego. Integracja w zakresie transportu prowadzi, w szerokim znaczeniu, do stworzenia jednolitego, kompleksowego systemu transportowego. Jak zauważa J. Burnewicz, systemy transportowe powinny być strukturami materialnie i funkcjonalnie zintegrowanymi, istnieją bowiem po to, by integrować przestrzennie i czasowo obsługiwane sfery życia gospodarczego i społecznego. Integracja systemów transportowych jest istotnym warunkiem realizacji zróżnicowanych celów ekonomicznych, społecznych i ekologicznych w danym systemie społeczno-gospodarczym, a więc - warunkiem spełnienia wymogów idei zrównoważonego rozwoju. Procesy integracji szczególnego znaczenia nabierają w aspekcie przepływów osób; konieczność integracji tego subsystemu transportu wynika w głównej mierze z rosnących wymagań jakościowych zgłaszanych pod jego adresem przez użytkowników. Integracja w odniesieniu do systemów transportu pasażerskiego może i powinna być rozumiana wielowymiarowo, bowiem wielowymiarowe procesy integracji i koordynacji są, zdaniem S. Krawca, istotne dla prawidłowego funkcjonowania całego systemu transportowego.
The concept of integration is used in many aspects and can relate to many areas of social and economic life. As observed by M. Michałowska and R. Tomanek, the issue of integration of transport systems is not a new research issue, but in terms of liberalization of transport markets, it takes on a special significance. Integration of transport, in a broad sense leads to the creation of a single, comprehensive transport system. As noted by J. Burnewicz, transport systems should be material and functionally integrated structures, since they exist in order to integrate spheres of economic and social development with regard to space and time. The integration of transport systems is an essential condition for the realization of different economic, social and environmental objectives in the particular socio-economic system, and thus meeting the requirements of sustainable development. Integration processes are particularly important in terms of flows of passengers. The need for integration of this transport subsystem results mainly from the increasing quality requirements reported by its users. Integration with respect to passenger transport systems can and should be understood in a multidimensional sense, because as stated by S. Krawiec, multi-dimensional processes of integration and coordination are essential for the proper functioning of the entire transport system.

Opis:

In this paper the method of production planning and control systems (PROEDIMS and SWZ) integration is presented. Both systems are parts of a distributed system which is thought as a replacement of large MRP / ERP systems for SMEs. This idea derived from the needs of several small and medium enterprises. In these kind of enterprises the larger stress is applied rather on technical preparation of production than tackling business problems. Integration is achieved by methods of data transformation and data mapping. The proposed data transformation interface uses neutral data formats like XML, XML schema, Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations XSLT and XML Path Language. The functional scheme of the module for data exchange which is necessary for the interaction between the production planning module of PROEDIMS system and production orders verification system for a multiassortment, concurrent production (SWZ) has been proposed and various stages of data transformation have been discussed.

The aim of the study could be identified twofold. On the one hand, it was a presentation of Polish experiences as concerns the most important methodological issues of contemporary statistics. These are the problems of data integration (DI) and statistical estimation for small domains (SDE).On the other hand, attempts to determine relationship between these two groups of methods were undertaken. Given convergence of the objectives of both SDE and DI, that is: striving to increase efficiency of the use of existing sources of information, simulation study was conducted. It was aimed at verifying the hypothesis of synergies referring to combined application of both groups of methods: SDE and DI.

In the era of migration, cities play an important role in integrating immigrants and promoting social cohesion. Sometimes they create and implement integration policies different from these at a national level. The state-run civic integration programs question the thesis of the growing role of cities as these programs have resulted in centralizing integration policies and reducing their role. In recent years, large European cities have been implementing a cultural diversity management model referred to as “intercultural integration”. They have also adopted mainstream policies targeted at the entire population. In terms of immigrant integration policy Polish large cities have recently been following a pattern set by their Western European counterparts. This results from the availability of European funds and trends towards cultural diversity rather than challenges.

Globalization, open borders and population movements, especially from war torn countries, have brought a new set of chances and challenges to every modern state. Since its accession to the European Union in 2004, Poland has been experiencing a steady transformation from a country producing emigrants to a destination country for a growing number of immigrants. The aim of the article is to discuss the impact of immigration on policymaking at the national level with emphasis on the legal status of immigrants and integration policy issues. Furthermore, the paper aims to initiate scientific discussion on migration integration policy and a complex system of migration policy and management.The study uses critical analysis of secondary sources: literature and sectoral policies in areas such as the labour market, education, and welfare pointing out benefits offered to immigrants. The analysis presents immigration integration policies and practices adopted and implemented in Poland.The research leads to the conclusion that the number of immigrants in Poland will significantly increase by 2030. Therefore, it is urgent to develop comprehensive migration management system in Poland, which will regulate the status of immigrants paying close attention to resolving integration policy issues.

Opis:

The integration of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and GIS (Geographic Information System) technologies allows for added value in many fields; starting from the construction industry to administrative operations. However, the issue of integration is currently quite challenging. This is due to the lack of consistency (inter alia, a lack of standards) in the integration of both technologies. It is the result of the different primary use of BIM and GIS. The use of BIM and GIS integration has great potential, especially in the construction industry. Therefore, it was decided to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of integration as well as the opportunities and threats in the future by performing a SWOT analysis. The analysis was performed cross-sectionally based mainly on the existing literature. Finally, six strengths, five weaknesses, five opportunities, and four threats were identified and described.

Opis:

The modern organization is becoming more complex and dynamic. Handling such an organization often requires new solutions in order to quickly counter complexity in economy, politics and private life sectors. The cure to this situation may be understanding the complex connections between elements in the system. Thereupon, in the article the modern organization is presented with the use of a network using know-why type thinking as also a model of an effective system taken from nature, which refers to two determinants – integration and development. The aim of the article is an attempt to answer the question what conditions have to be fulfilled, for the organization to give a feeling of integration and development with a detailed focus on the balance between the two factors.

Opis:

The topic of European integration is one of the most important for Ukrainian political discourse and reflects the main controversy in politics and society. This paper is based on a case study: how are European integration and widely the idea of Europe conceptualized in Ukrainian political discourses and how are they presented and framed in the Ukrainian press in the period 2005–2010? What are the dominant frames in the representation of European integration in the Ukrainian press? This study demonstrates that conceptualization of European integration and, connected with it, the foreign policy choice of Ukraine is proceeding in the Ukrainian media discourse with usage of the following dominant frames: geopolitical confrontation, civilizational choice and an instrument of inner changes.
