Opis:: An eco-friendly manufacturing approach is important for the environment. Enhancing machining performances is not only required to improve product’s quality, time saving, and reduces costs; it is also contributed to the environmental protection efforts. Cooling is important aspect for obtaining this purpose. Therefore the benefits of Strong Alkaline Water (SAW) cooling method was assessed and compared with conventional wet cutting method. An experiment was performed at Nagaoka University of Technology machining centre. Three machine tools including a milling machine, a drilling machine and a turning machine were used. The study shows that using SAW for cooling is far more efficient than conventional cooling method. It reduces annual global warming potential by 72.95%, acidification potential 98.18%, ozone depletion potential 99.6%, smog formation potential 85.71% and human toxicity potential 42.86% compare with conventional method. The study concludes that besides inhibiting corrosion, prolonging tool life, improving surface roughness of final cutting and reducing energy usage, strong alkaline water cooling is an environmentally friendly approach and has positive impact on human health.

Opis:: Economic sanctions serve as a foreign policy tool which allows a country or countries to exercise their own political ends on the target country by the time a conflict unfolds. Sanctions mean actual deprivation or threats to deprivation of the target country from access to economic resources in order to create changes to the policies of that country which are principally exercised unilaterally, multilaterally or collectively. After the First World War, the number of 183 rounds of economic sanctions were enforced where as many as 140 rounds of which had been implemented by the United States. Today, explanation of adoption and exercise of most economic sanctions is based on human rights claims. Despite all this, a closer look at the impacts of sanctions and also failure and success of which in fulfilling their goals reveals that sanctions are not appropriate tools for the promotion of human rights and their safeguarding. Sanctions have some adverse impacts that could lead to a degradation of human rights in the target country. This impact mostly emerges due to the dependency of human rights on the income level of the states; because a state must have enough resources so that it can promote education, health, employment and other human rights norms. Through this channel, this research intends via a scientific analysis method and utilization of credible researches with reference to credible evidence and judicial procedures of international authorities to substantiate whether there is a rational relationship between the category of economic sanctions and its relevant legal elements within human rights and international laws. In this analysis by relying on international teachings and based on legal arguments, the legitimacy extent of the U.S. sanctions against Iran and Iraq has been assessed and an overall picture of is presented.

Opis:: We present the results of an exploratory analysis of hu‐ man attitudes toward the social robot Vector. The study was conducted on natural language data (2,635 com‐ ments) retrieved from Reddit and YouTube. We describe the tag‐set used and the (manual) annotation procedure. We present and compare attitude structures mined from Reddit and YouTube data. Two main findings are descri‐ bed and discussed: almost 20% of comments from both Reddit and YouTube consist of various manifestations of attitudes toward Vector (mainly attribution of autonomy and declaration of feelings toward Vector); Reddit and YouTube comments differ when it comes to revealed at‐ titude structure – the data source matters for attitudes studies.

Opis:: Recent developments in Taiwan toward the technology intensive country, the employment of cost effective foreign labors by shipping companies, the widespread of universities and the internationalization of shipping industries propose considerable threats on the quality assurance of maritime education. A resultant crisis for lacking on-board seafarers with managerial levels has urged the consolidation of governmental, private and educational organizations in the attempts to further improve the quality of maritime education and to promote the on-board career incentives. The process from the formulation of problems to the implementation of strategies undertaken by the National Kaohsiung Marine University (NKMU) is reviewed. A chain reaction initiated from the degradation of students’ entry performances due to the widespread of universities has formed a viscous cycle leading to the outsourcing of foreign human resources by shipping industry. Strategies in the aspects of course reform, joint ventures of lectureship with shipping industry, pre-courses for students’ extended career plans and the establishment of educational center that consolidates the departments of navigation, marine engineering and fishery in NKMU are illustrated.

Stanowisko umożliwia niezależne wzbudzanie w warunkach laboratoryjnych drgań ogólnych i miejscowych w zakresie niskich częstotliwości oraz hałasu. Za pomocą specjalnie stworzonego Testu służącego do badania dokładności pracy oraz wykorzystując możliwości omawianego stanowiska możliwe jest badanie wpływu wibracji i hałasu na dokładność pracy badanej osoby.
The study outlines the design of a laboratory setup to investigate how low-frequency vibrations should affect the machine operators. The structure, technical parameters and potential applications of the setup are explored. The setup enables the independent generation of low-frequency general and local vibrations in laboratory conditions. The special test developed to monitor the working precision supported by the laboratory facilities allow for investigating the impacts that vibrations might have on the operators' working precision.
