Aim. The aim of the study is to investigate into the motives of learning that are inherent in students with different attitudes to distance learning. The main objectives of the study are as follows: to analyze the attitude to different forms of distance learning of students of higher education institutions; to investigate the main forms of scientific motivation of students of higher education institutions; to compare how the scientific motivation of students with different attitudes to distance learning differs. Methods. The study involved 211 students majoring in science (physics, chemistry). The study uses the following methods: 1) attitude questionnaire; 2) Science Motivation Questionnaire II; 3) statistical methods. The following is used for statistical data processing: descriptive statistics methods (to measure the percentage of people with different attitude towards organization of distance learning); ANOVA (to compare levels of science motivational types of students with different preferences in educational models). Results. It was determined that 38% of students are positive about distance education and see great opportunities for its implementation. But only 22.75% of students consider distance learning the best option of educational process organisation, and 21.8% are in favor of an exclusive face-to-face format. The most popular form among students is mixed form of education (55.45%). Students with a positive attitude to distance education are characterized by the highest scores on intrinsic motivation, self-efficacy and career motivation. Therefore, proponents of distance education are mostly students who have a good understanding of their own goals and learning needs, plan their career advancement, and are well-organized in terms of educational and professional development. Conclusions. Distance forms of education cannot completely replace traditional ones. But it is already becoming obvious that their use in a mixed format can increase the effectiveness of the educational process. Students' sympathy for the mixed format should be taken into account by the developers of educational programs and university administrations in order to improve the quality of education and meet the requirements of the times.

The aim of the study is to provide an overview of higher education students’ volunteering and voluntary group membership based on a database (N=2,199), in which full-time students from five Central-Eastern European countries (Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, and Ukraine) were questioned. We analyzed as well, which variables influence civic engagement. Based on the results we suggest that universities in Central-Eastern European regions should make more use of students’ potential in the field of volunteering and organizational membership, and should do so in an organized way, with special attention to the groups, which display low civic participation according to our research findings.

Opis:
The subject of key competencies in the labour market has been discussed in many publications and reports in recent years, presenting the point of view of researchers and employers on the issue. However, the perspective of future employees also seems to be worth discussing; hence this research covers university students currently entering the labour market. Ten competencies identified as key in the labour market are examined: problem-solving, creativity and innovation, analytical and critical thinking, active learning and teaching, interdisciplinarity, emotional intelligence, social intelligence, intercultural competencies, virtual cooperation, digital competency. The study aimed to determine the respondents’ opinions and beliefs about selected key competencies on the labour market, their willingness to develop them, and their declared level of these competencies. The survey was carried out using the quantitative method, using the CAWI technique, on a sample of 352 respondents – students of the University of Lodz. The results indicate that the students mostly share the view that the competencies indicated as being key will be expected by employers in the labour market in the next five years. Moreover, for most of the competencies being studied, they assess their current level to be high and see the need to develop them for professional purposes. Discrepancies are also indicated between the students’ self-assessment of their competencies and their employers’ assessment.

The paper focuses on a topic concerning the students’ professional future. Students more often and more are prepared to leave the labor market. In addition to the ongoing higher education they get their education at a variety of courses and trainings; they increase their skills in workshops or attend internships and practices to become attractive candidates for the job in the eyes of a potential employer. At this point a number of questions raises, such as: do students choose their future profession consciously? what do they expect from the future profession? are they interested in working abroad after graduation? etc. According to the Forbes, logistician profession was in the top ten most popular professions in 2013 in Poland. That is why the objective of the paper was to identify the expectations of students who study Logistics at the Faculty of Engineering Management, Poznan University of Technology.

Opis:
Significant changes in the field of education observed in recent years under the influence of economic, political and social processes, as well as Ukraine’s entry into the global, in particular European, educational space, have become the basis for the implementation of educational reforms at all levels – from preschool to adult education. That is why there is an urgent need for professionals in various fields to have a high level of legal culture, because ignorance of the law does not absolve one from responsibility. In addition, the goal of all reform processes in our country is to achieve compliance with the European architecture in the relevant fields – legal, educational, medical, etc. Regulations are the main means of regulating and implementing legal policy in the field of education. Formation of legal culture of all participants in the educational process is a guarantee of the rule of law, a guarantee of fostering respect for the law and the state as a guarantor of law and order in the exercise of the right to education by every citizen. Accordingly, the legal competence of students, regardless of their field of study, is no longer just a requirement of modern society, but also a basic need of every person. The category of «legal culture» is one of the main characteristics of the country’s legal system, which helps to determine the quality of the legal life of society. The level of legal knowledge is an indicator that reveals the quality of the legal life of a higher education student, which allows the latter to evaluate both his or her own actions and/or inaction and the actions of other members of society and to distinguish legal relations in different branches of law. Structural components aimed at improving the level of legal culture of higher education students can be divided into informative components (regulatory framework of a higher education institution, charter, collective agreement, internal regulations, provisions and procedures governing the educational process, etc.), an evaluative component is the direct attitude of a higher education student to law in general (teaching general legal disciplines to understand the importance of legal knowledge and skills) and an organizational component is the activities of research and teaching staff. The issue of forming legal culture in higher education students should be prioritized during higher education, since knowledge of and compliance with the rules of law at the present stage of European development is unconditional.

Opis:
The aim of the study. Help autistic children in Ukraine is inadequate due to a lack of well-trained specialists. This article is dedicated to the problem of preparation of specialists for the work with autistic children by the module system of higher education. Methods. The methodological basis for constructing an educational module is to use the elements of graph theory, which can detect basic blocks, functions of the educational module, and identify the components of the content of the module and install interrelationships between them. To determine the content of the educational module were used the results of the survey of parents and professionals who work with autistic children. There have also been investigated indicators of 60 autistic children by Binet-Simon and CARS methods in the experimental and reference group. In the experimental group are specialists who have been trained by TEACCH method, whereas in reference group are specialists who do not have special education in the fi eld of ASD. Results. The results of the survey of parents and professionals as well as indicators of autistic children of experimental and reference group have shown a greater progress in development of autistic children in experimental group. Taking into account the results an educational modul for preparation of psychologists for work with autistic children wasconstructed. The modul consists of 8 blocks that include clinical, correctional and therapeutic knowledge and covers 5 functions of preparation of practical psychologists: diagnostical, predictive, corrective, coordinative and  productive, that provides success in the development of autistic child. Conclusions. Creation and the improvement of the contents of the modules, which deal with the question of autistic disorders, are interconnected with the quality of providing educational and correctional-teaching services for children and families in which they are educated.

The study aimed to analyse changes in school belonging in higher education students during online instruction and to verify its cross-sectional and longitudinal relationships with academic adjustment in the first and higher years of study. The research sample consisted of 169 higher education students (90.5% women, M = 21.71; SD = 2.63) in the first measurement (end of the winter term), and 77 respondents (96% women, M = 21.38; SD = 2.03) in the second measurement (end of the summer term). Self-report methods were used. Results showed a decline in school belonging among first-year students. School belonging significantly predicted academic adjustment, and the relationship with internal motivation persisted even four months later. The findings support the key role and need for facilitating school belonging in higher education students in the online environment.

The purpose of this article is to present opportunities for research which show the common ground between tourism and physical culture using approaches and methods worked out and applied in economics. Attention has been concentrated on the category of ‘product’, treated here as a theoretical concept by means of which it is possible to present a structure of tourism trip. This will include the part that refers to those values and human activities related to physical culture. An attempt to identify the social perception of the attributes that describe a tourism trip was made by an empirical study using conjoint analysis on students in higher education in Kraków. The results show that those who participate in tourism enriched by physical activity, prefer trips saturated with attributes such as the required level of courage, the testing of psychological and physical abilities, rivalry with others or nature, an element of adventure, a high level of physical activity, access to sports and leisure facilities, and contact with nature. But at the same time they prefer a low level of risk to health or life. It was noted, however, that related to the latter female and male preferences vary.

PROBLEM I METODY BADAWCZE: Problemami badawczymi były pytania: Jak przygotować się do procesu dydaktycznego, aby stworzyć studentom w spektrum autyzmu i z zespołem Aspergera możliwości rozwinięcia własnego potencjału? Materiał badawczy stanowią opublikowane teksty źródłowe z przeprowadzonych eksploracji, dotyczące różnych wymiarów obecności w uczelni wyższej studentów ze spektrum autyzmu i z zespołem Aspergera. Dominuje medyczne podejście do autyzmu, natomiast brakuje pedagogicznych opracowań wzmacniających nauczycieli akademickich.
RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of my research is  an attempt to give meanings that are crucial for the preparation of an academic teacher to the didactic process which is conducive to unlocking potential of  students with autism and Asperger’s Syndrome. PROBLEM AND RESEARCH METHODS: The research problems were defined in the following questions: How to prepare self for the didactic process to create opportunities for students with the autism spectrum disorder and Asperger’s Syndrome to develop their own potential? Do neurodiverse students need special compensatory and therapeutic support from an academic teacher? Hermeneutic approach is embedded in the constructivist paradigm relating to the didactic and social dimensions of creating an educational reality.   THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The article opens with the definition of categories related to autism and the description of the dynamics of the increase in the number of students with this diagnosis. Then, in the light of the collected research, the compensatory-therapeutic discourse and its importance for teachers’ beliefs were described. The last part is about giving meaning to the didactic process, the meaning of which is to  unlock the students’ potential. RESEARCH RESULTS: Preparation for the didactic process of an academic teacher includes the need to learn about the phenomenon of autism, which is important for forming  beliefs about the possibilities and needs of students with this diagnosis. Neurodiversity students within the intellectual norm and above do not need compensatory and therapeutic support from an academic teacher. This type of support is provided to students and teachers from university specialists for people with disabilities.  CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: In Poland, a narrow scope of  research on neurodiverse students is observed. The medical approach to autism dominates, while there is the lack of pedagogical studies that strengthen academic teachers.

Opis:
The purpose of the presented study was to examine the effects of the learning environment of higher education on developing students’ self-concept. It was an experimental study and the experiment was done in a master level class of a public sector university. A pre-test post-test non-equivalent design was adopted. For this purpose the experiment was carried out in the Master’s degree course in education. The students were pre-tested and post-tested on self-concept questionnaires. Findings showed that there were differences in the students’ mean scores in pre-test and post-test. We can observe that in all dimensions of self-concept questionnaires, e.g. likability, morality, task accomplishment, giftedness, power and vulnerability, the students had lower mean scores when they entered the classroom on the very first day, as pre-test was administered on the very first day of the students’ entrance in the classroom. It is again obvious that students get higher mean scores in each dimension of the self-concept scale in posttest. It means that as posttest was administered at the end of semester, it was found that various classroom activities, like group discussions, oral presentations, buzz sessions, library research, and writing assignments, are helpful for developing self-concepts in students of the higher education level. Findings showed that there were gender differences in some dimensions of self-concept, i.e. females had higher mean scores in morality, task accomplishment and giftedness. Therefore, it was concluded that gender differences were found in the development of self-concept among students where females were found competent in morality, task accomplishment, and giftedness. As the sampling was purposive and convenient and the students already registered in the class were observed in the study and students of other semesters of the Master Sufiana K. Malik, Allah Bakhsh Malik Pakistan level were not involved in the presented study. As there is no hard rule for seats of males and females, rather whoever wants can seek admission in Master level programs, if he/she fulfills the basic criteria of admission, e.g. basic qualifications, qualifying written test and qualifying interview. By chance in the year 2010, there were enrolled only two males in the Master’s degree in education. It is obvious that students of the 3rd and especially 4th birth order have very low mean scores in each dimension of self-concept as compared to students of the 1st and 2ⁿd birth order. Students of the 1st birth order have higher mean scores in the dimension of likability, task accomplishment, power and giftedness. Whereas students of the 2ⁿd birth order have the same mean scores in morality task accomplishment as students of the 1st birth order, but they have higher mean scores in the vulnerability dimension. Students of the 2ⁿd and 3rd order have the same mean scores in power. On the whole, we can say that students’ birth order also affects the development of self-concept among them. Generally, it has been observed that parents give more importance to their first born children. Therefore, it was concluded that students’ birth order has an effect on the development of self-concept in them. However, the education process has its importance as we observe in the presented study, students of the 2ⁿd and 3rd birth order have higher mean scores in the vulnerability dimension and students having the 2ⁿd and 3rd birth order have higher mean scores in morality as compared to first birth order students.

The purpose of this quantitative study was to address the problem by investigating learners’ perceptions of their own and their teachers’ responsibilities in language learning, their perceived abilities and motivation to learn English, their autonomous behaviours outside and inside the classroom, and the relationships between the above variables. The questionnaire was completed by 74 EFL students from a Hungarian university. The data were analysed by SPSS 26.0. The results indicate that in the investigated context, in the EFL learners’ perceptions, teachers were more responsible for their in-class learning than themselves. Nevertheless, the students demonstrated some autonomy both inside and outside class, to an equal extent.
