Opis:
The paper presents a hybridMPI+OpenMP (Message Passing Interface/Open Multi-Processor) algorithm used for parallel programs based on the high-order compact method. The main tools used to implement parallelism in computations are OpenMP andMPI whichdiffer in terms of memory on which they are based. OpenMP works on shared-memory and the MPIon distributed-memory whereas the hybrid model is based on a combination of those methods. The tests performed and described in this paper present significant advantages provided by a combination of the MPI/OpenMP approach. The test computations needed for verifying possibilities ofMPI, Open-MP and Hybrid of both tools were carried out using anacademic high-order SAILORsolver. The obtained results seem to be very promising to accelerate simulations of fluid flows as well as for application using high order methods.

Opis:
The authors studied in Preiss and Stoer (2003) the analyticity properties of infeasible-interior-point paths encountered in the context of semidefinite linear complementarity problems. It will be shown that these results allow for the design of infeasible-interior-point methods of long-step type with an arbitrarily high order of local convergence for solving such problems.

Opis:
This survey presents a review of experimental methods relied upon while implementing gyrotron higher mode generation techniques and performing near electromagnetic field measurements in launcher and quasi-optical mode converters. In particular, the paper focuses on low power (cold) testing of gyrotron quasi-optical mode converters outside of the gyrotron, without the presence of high electromagnetic power and electron beams.

Opis:
In this paper the authors present highly accurate and remarkably efficient computational methods for fractional order derivatives and integrals applying Riemann-Liouville and Caputo formulae: the Gauss-Jacobi Quadrature with adopted weight function, the Double Exponential Formula, applying two arbitrary precision and exact rounding mathematical libraries (GNU GMP and GNU MPFR). Example fractional order derivatives and integrals of some elementary functions are calculated. Resulting accuracy is compared with accuracy achieved by applying widely known methods of numerical integration. Finally, presented methods are applied to solve Abel’s Integral equation (in Appendix).

Opis:
We analyze higher order error terms in a modified partial differential equation of a cascaded lattice Boltzmann method (CLBM) for one conservation law – the advection-diffusion equation. To inspect the behavior of the error terms we derived an equivalent finite difference equation (EFDE), this approach is different from other techniques like the Chapman-Engskog expansion, equivalent partial differential equations or the Maxwell iteration used in the literature. The resulting EFDE is obtained from the recurrence formulas of the lattice Boltzmann equations for the CLBM and is subsequently analyzed by standard analytical techniques. We have found relations of the LBM parameters which could cancel some of the higher order terms, making the method more accurate. The detailed derivation of the EFDE and higher order terms’ pre-factors is the main result of this paper. The resulting explicit form of the error terms are derived and presented.
