    Intensive economic and urban processes which take place in Polish urbanized area have a significant impact on the changes of structure of territorial units, their functional development and demographic processes. Development of individual units is dependent on many factors like the location, demographic potential and economics. In the area of one voivodship - there are powiats with a various potential of development. As a subject of research powiats in the area of the Dolnośląskie Voivodship are selected. Taxonomic methods were used for the classification and grouping of powiats as a spatial objects tested in the multidimensional space of characteristics. The aim of the paper is to present the spatial variation in the level of development in the light of selected factors.

    The aim of the article is to identify the determinants of changes in public debt ratios in the developed countries of the EU (EU-15). The analysis was based on the observations of the average values of analysed variables in particular countries throughout the study period and over two sub-periods: 2001-2007 and 2008-2014. On the basis of the article it can be concluded that the diversification of changes in public debt ratios resulted mainly from varying budget and primary balances (the lower the deficits, the lower the increases in public debt ratios) and, to a smaller extent, also from varying interest rates on bonds (the lower the interest rates, the lower the increases in public debt ratios) as well as varying economic growth rates (the higher the economic growth rates, the lower the rises in public debt ratios).

    Opis:
    The steel substrate formed as the result of oxy-acetylene cutting (OAB) was treated differently - using: softening annealing, grinding and electro-polishing. Investigations were focused on the influence of additional processing on the structure and corrosion resistance of the deposited zinc coating. The hot - dip Zn galvanizing process was conducted in industrial conditions. Parameters were fixed: temperature 457 °C, dipping time 150 s. The coating thickness diversification dependent on the sub-surface steel structure was analysed and compared to the previous results. The correlation between conducted treatment and coatings morphology was determined.

    The paper attempts to compare European Union countries in terms of the dynamics of changes in the value of lamb meat imports in the period 2003-2017. The standard against which this comparison was made was the average value, which should be understood as the growth dynamics of the examined feature for all EU countries together. For this purpose, tools related to the so-called Grade Data Analysis, such as the index of the unlikeness of structures “ar” (in this case a good tool to determine the direction of changes and the speed of these changes for all EU countries) and overrepresentation maps (used to visualise these changes and for their interpretation). Additionally, with the help of GDA methods, EU countries were divided into groups characterised by smaller, medium and higher dynamics of changes in lamb imports. It can be concluded that the most dynamic growth in imports of this type of meat is found among the newest EU member states. This may indicate a change in dietary preferences in these countries. It may also be related to greater accessibility to goods previously considered as luxury, greater awareness of so-called healthy foods and the improved standard of living of societies that have joined the European Union.

    This paper examines the role of export diversification for economic growth in CEE transition economies. The results prove that before the outbreak of 2008 financial crisis export specialization rather than diversification was an important growth factor, especially in those countries which followed more specialized export patterns. However, after the outbreak of the crisis the direction of this causal link changed essentially. All three main aspects of export diversification turned out to play a significant role in reducing the growth slowdown effects of the 2008 financial crisis.

    Badaną przez autorkę populację stanowiło 150 małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw prowadzących działalność w branży produkcji mebli w Polsce. Dane do badania zbierano od sierpnia do października 2022 roku przy użyciu kwestionariusza ankiety (PAPI). Respondentami byli właściciele lub osoby zatrudnione na najwyższych stanowiskach kierowniczych. Ze względu na eksploracyjny charakter badania i brak spełnienia założenia o normalności analizowanych zmiennych do analizy wykorzystano metodę PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling). Metoda ta daje możliwość weryfikacji modeli, w których występują efekty mediacyjne, a zmienne w modelach traktowane są jako konstrukty latentne (utajone). W badaniach wykorzystano oprogramowanie SmartPLS (V.4.0.8). W pracy postawiono cztery hipotezy: H1: Orientacja przedsiębiorcza (OP) wpływa na wzrost przedsiębiorstwa (WP); H2: Orientacja przedsiębiorcza wpływa na dywersyfikację; H3: Dywersyfikacja ma pozytywny wpływ na wzrost przedsiębiorstwa; H4: Dywersyfikacja pełni funkcję mediatora w relacji pomiędzy OP a WP. W wyniku przeprowadzonych analiz statystycznych uzyskano istotne pozytywne wpływy zmiennych niezależnych na zmienne zależne, co oznacza, że wszystkie hipotezy zostały potwierdzone.
    The research population consisted of 150 small and medium-sized enterprises that conduct business in the furniture manufacturing industry in Poland. Data for the survey was collected, from August to October 2022, by interviewers using a survey questionnaire (PAPI). The respondents were owners or those employed in top management positions. Due to the exploratory nature of the survey and the failure to meet the assumption of normality of the analyzed variables, the Partial Least Squares – Structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method was used for the analysis. This method provides an opportunity to verify models with mediating effects, and the variables in the models are treated as latent constructs. The study used Smart-PLS software (V.4.0.8). Four hypotheses were posed in the study: H1: Entrepreneurial orientation (EO) influences firm growth (FG), H2: Entrepreneurial orientation influences diversification, H3: Diversification has a positive impact on enterprise growth, H4: Diversification acts as a mediator in the relationship between EO and FG. The statistical analyses resulted in significant positive effects of the independent variables on the dependent variables, which means that all hypotheses were confirmed.

The deliberation put the emphasis on identify motives to diversify from the perspective of the selected strategic management school. The particular attention was paid to the Planning School, the Positioning School and the Resource Based-View. Presenting a point of view demonstrates why firms diversify throughout the years.

    The problem of regional diversity is the subject of a broad scientific discourse. The dynamics of territory development is connected with many factors. Among them, the so-called spaces for development opportunities of individual units and resiliance issues for external factors of regions. The author discusses the diversity of individuals from the point of view of these two factors. It indicates future directions of regional research, which will show why regions at the start with potentially the same structure are developing completely differently and why in most cases resistance is associated with innovation and in the case of Polish regions it is not.

    W artykule podjęto próbę wyznaczenia bezzatrudnieniowych stóp wzrostu w polskim przemyśle w ujęciu regionalnym. Stopę wzrostu bezzatrudnieniowego można zdefiniować jako taką stopę wzrostu produkcji (PKB czy w ujęciu sektorowym np. produkcję sprzedaną przemysłu), która powoduje zerową stopę wzrostu liczby pracujących (w całej gospodarce lub w określonym sektorze). Za przyczyny stopy wzrostu bezzatrudnieniowego uważa się postęp techniczny oraz efekt substytucji pracy ludzkiej nakładami kapitału fizycznego. Pozwala to zatem gospodarkom lub regionom osiągać odpowiedni poziom wzrostu gospodarczego, poprzez wzrost wydajności pracy, zaś stopa wzrostu pracujących może być zbliżona do zera. W celu zbadania występowania i zróżnicowania stóp wzrostu bezzatrudnieniowego wykorzystano dane panelowe dotyczące produkcji sprzedanej przemysłu brutto oraz liczbę pracujących w przemyśle dla poszczególnych województw na poziomie powiatów za lata 2004-2013. Dane pozyskano z Banku Danych Lokalnych Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego.
    The article attempts to determine jobless growth rates in the Polish industry among regions, Jobless growth rate can be defined as the rate of output growth (GDP, or by sector, e,g, industrial production sold), which results in a zero growth rate of the number of employees (in the whole economy or in a particular sector), Technical progress and the effect of substitution of human labor by physical capital inputs are considered as the causes for the jobless growth rate, This allows economies therefore achieve an appropriate level of economic growth by increasing labor productivity, and the growth rate of employment may be close to zero, In order to investigate the diversification of jobless growth rates there were used panel data on gross industrial production sold and the number of employees in the industry for individual provinces at the county level for the years 2004-2013, The data have been obtained from the Local Data Bank of the Central Statistical Office.

    Artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie zróżnicowania rozwoju ekonomicznego krajów Unii Europejskiej (UE) w latach 2000—2015 oraz symulacje zmian wydajności pracy w perspektywie do 2050 r. W badaniu wykorzystano dwa agregaty makroekonomiczne opisujące dynamikę procesów rozwojowych, tj. wydajność pracy oraz kapitał rzeczowy przypadający na pracującego w powiązaniu z tzw. efektami grawitacyjnymi. Oparto się na danych Europejskiej Komisji Gospodarczej (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe — UNECE). Wyniki skłaniają do sformułowania dwóch kluczowych wniosków. Po pierwsze, przy założeniu utrzymania średniej krajowej stopy inwestycji z okresów 2000—2015, 2000—2008 i 2009—2015 w perspektywie do 2050 r. najsilniejszą średnioroczną dynamikę zmian wydajności pracy obserwuje się w krajach zaliczanych do grupy postkomunistycznej. Po drugie, przyjęcie dla okresu 2016— —2050 średniej stopy inwestycji dla gospodarki UE z okresów 2000—2015, 2000—2008 i 2009—2015 skłania do przypuszczenia, że w 2050 r. wydajność pracy trzech dużych grup krajów objętych analizą (UE-28, UE-15 i kraje postkomunistyczne) będzie się kształtować na bardzo podobnym poziomie.
    The aim of the article is to present the differentiation of economic development of the European Union countries in the years 2000—2015 and to simulate changes in labour productivity in the perspective of 2050. Two macroeconomic aggregates describing dynamics of development processes, i.e. labour productivity and capital-labour ratio, connected with the so-called gravity effects were used in the research. It was based on data from the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). The results lead to the formulation of two key conclusions. Firstly, assuming that the average investment rate from 2000—2015, 2000—2008 and 2009— —2015 is maintained in the perspective until 2050, the strongest annual average dynamics of labour productivity changes is observed in the countries belonging to the post-communist group. Secondly, the adoption, for the 2016—2050 period, of the average investment rate for the entire EU economy for 2000— —2015, 2000—2008 and 2009—2015, will lead to the assumption that in 2050 the productivity of large groups of analysed countries will be shaped at a very similar level.

    The aim of the article is to analyse the spread and diffusion of socio-economic development in Poland in 2004-2016, while considering spatial aspects. Using the linear ordering method in the non-pattern version, a synthetic development measure for all municipalities in Poland was built based on a set of 77 features illustrating various socio-economic aspects, reduced to 25 features. For the measure constructed in this way, the convergence of the beta and sigma type has been examined, divided into 3 groups of municipalities (rural, urban and urban-rural), as well as in regional division. Using the methods of spatial econometrics, the occurrence of spatial effects was examined, in particular the attention was paid to the relationship between the processes of spreading development and spatial forms of diffusion of development. The analysis also allowed to determine the strength of local impacts of spatial connections between individual municipalities.
