Opis:
In this study, the flexural behaviors of a composite plate jointed with I profile jointing element have been carried out experimentally and numerically. As a load type, four point flexural tests have been used in order to study performances of jointed composite plates under bending load. The effects of jointing geometry parameters ratio of the width of lock to width of semi-specimen (b/W), lock middle/end width to the width of lock (z/b) and the length of lock to the width of semi-specimen (h/2W) have been investigated. According to the investigation optimum jointing parameters have been found with the h/2w ratio of 0.5, b/w ratio of 0.5 and z/b ratio of 0.5. Abaqus 6.11 finite element program has been used in order to support the results obtained from the experiments. Damages have been mostly seen on jointing lock elements.

Opis:
The paper discusses the effect of the heat input in the case of welding with solid and cored wire, respectively to the quality of the obtained joints. Formulas used for this purpose do not allow for the form of the filler, which, in the authors' opinion, has an effect on the basic parameters characterizing the welded joint. The paper presents the results of research on the geometric sizes of a joint made with a similar heat input, but using the filler in the form of, respectively, solid and cored wire. Investigations were carried out on fillet-weld joints that were subjected to macroscopic metallographic examinations. Studies have shown that the heat input given without allowing for the form of the filler does not reflect the changes that occur in the welded joint due to the thermal welding cycle.

Opis:
In an attempt to make use of scientific potential for geological evaluation like resource management, a join German-Ukrainian project was carried out during the last four years. The aim of this project was the introduction and application in the Donets Basin of a computer based coal resources assessment method originally developed for the assessment of the German hard coal deposits and was called KVB-model. The combination and adaptation of the old conception of the KVB-model with modern graphic allows for the combination of the 3D structure plans of the seams with different attributes like seam and coal property data (thickness, ash, sulphur, metamorphism, rank), state of exposure (mining zone, prospective), gas content of coal, etc. A further extension of the system may consist of the interpretation of the rocks in addition to the seams already represented in the stratigraphic profile. This would allow the application be used for stratified geological units of any kind.
