W artykule przeanalizowano reportaż internetowy na podstawie metody analizy genologicznej Marii Wojtak. Celem było sprawdzenie, czy stanowi on rewolucję, destrukcję czy ewolucję tradycyjnego reportażu, którego cechy zostały opisane w pierwszej części artykułu. W drugiej części przeanalizowano dwanaście wybranych reportaży cyfrowych w czterech aspektach: strukturalnym, pragmatycznym, poznawczym oraz stylistycznym. Posłużyło to do stworzenia wzorca kanonicznego reportażu internetowego oraz umiejscowienia gatunku w odpowiedniej pozycji genologii dziennikarskiej i dziennikarstwa internetowego. Tekst powstał w ramach Programu Mentoringowego Forum Młodych Medioznawców i Komunikologów Polskiego Towarzystwa Komunikacji Społecznej pod opieką dr. hab. Grzegorza Ptaszka, prof. AGH.
This article analyses online reportage on the basis of Maria Wojtak’s method of genological analysis. The aim was to check whether it represents a revolution, destruction, or evolution of traditional reportage, the features of which were described in the first part of the article. In the second part, 12 selected digital reportages were analysed in 4 aspects: structural, pragmatic, cognitive and stylistic. This was used to create a canonical pattern of online reportage and to place the genre in its proper place in journalistic genology, and online journalism.

The aim of the study is to characterise a genre pattern of a condolence telegram in Russian. A telegram is one of many genres of diplomatic correspondence, used to give condolences and express sympathy and support on the occasion of calamities and natural disasters. The senders and receivers of telegrams are heads of state (official institutinal communication), as well as nations of both countries and people afflicted with the disaster. The study conducted on a corpus of 150 texts (50 telegrams and 100 press releases) analyses the structure and lexico-pragmatic features of texts to establish the most frequent pattern of telegram in the current textual corpus. The results of the study show that a condolence telegram is a highly conventionalized genre.

In an attempt to describe an individual realization of the sermon as a genre pattem, the article characterizes a collection of a few dozen sermons delivered by one preacher. In accordance with the conventions typical of altemating pattems, i.e. modifications of individual components of the canonical pattem, the preacher uses above all the mechanism ofreduction. He omits the classic introduction, uses only argumentative schemata in the main bodies of his sermons, and formulates the ending as a conclusion or an appeal. It appears as important for the author to differentiate individual segments of the whole and arrange them in such a way so as to achieve persuasive effects. The preacher assumes the role of an interpreter of the w ord of God, and constructs his sermons in the form of intemally dialogized monologues. The choice of stylistic devices is dictated above all by the principle of appropriateness. The preacher avoids bombastic and official forms, uses religious or colloąuial lexis in order to render the transfer of message more vivid, imagelike and suggestive. Taking into account the basie features of the altemating pattem of the sermon as a genre, the said author attempts to speak from his own perspective, but in sucha way as to preserve the message of God.

Genre pattern and specialized translation (analysis of selected mechanisms of language simplification in Polish and Italian versions of patient information leaflet) The patient information leaflet is a specialized text of codified character. Its genre pattern, as defined in legal norms, includes all the genre-pattern aspects specified by Maria Wojtak, i.e. structural, cognitive (thematic), pragmatic and stylistic. Within the stylistic component it is possible to distinguish different language and stylistic devices the aim of which is to facilitate the reader’s understanding of the text. The article focuses on the analysis of one of these mechanisms, namely metatextual annotations in the form of parenthesis (inclusion) provided in Polish and Italian, and intended to facilitate (the reader’s) understanding of the text with regard to specialized terminology. Carrying out the comparison resulted in doubts whether numerous metatextual parenthetic annotations really fulfill their function.

The article tries to characterize one of the Internet genres – an electronic letter. More than 400 letters addressed by students to university have been studied. The relationship studentuniversity is the materialization of the relationship petitioner-office. The construction of the studied e-mails is typical of the generic pattern being formed. An electronic letter is basically composed of a letterhead and the ending, between which the proper contents of a letter are inserted. A part of the analyzed correspondence demonstrates features typical of an application – a genre of the official style. In their e-mails addressed to different institutions, students made numerous language mistakes, including syntactical, lexical and orthographic/punctuation mistakes.

Telesfor Chełchowski’s Gorzkie żale moskalofilskie [The Moscophile Lenten Lamentations] (1917) is a text which corresponds to the poetics of political disputes of the Polish in exile at the turn of the 19th and the 20th century. At the same time, the author draws on from the Polish literary tradition. Through making references to the prayer convention and model – Lenten (Bitter) Lamentations – and taking into account the genesis, Chełchowski’s text can be regarded as travesty or a specimen of the model. This reference manifests itself in the structure: 1) Awakening; 2) Considerations; 3) three identically complex parts which are internally structured, that is Hymn boleści [A hymn of anguish], Lament moskafilów nad cierpiącym ekscarem [A lament of Moscophiles over the suffering ex-Tsar], Wesoła rozmowa moskofila z koniowcem [A merry talk between a Moscophile and a horsephile]; 4) Zakończenie lamentów moskafilskich [The conclusion of Moscophile laments], as well as in the consistently applied metric model, stylistic and semantic references.

The article offers a linguistic analysis of the text of The Litany to the Blessed John Paul II, one of the most recent realizations of the litany prayer convention (created in 2011). As the background, the article also includes The Litany to the Blesseds Francis and Hyacinth of 2012. The genre pattern of the litany includes a compositional scheme of a litany prayer, fixed through tradition. In the author’s interpretation this prayer is a genre taking the form of a collection since it consists of the litany proper (a set of calls to a person from the sacred realm and repeated supplication formulas) and associated texts. The analyzed litany has a composition which is typical for the genre as it contains all components of the pattern, including clichéd ones. In several calls in the litany proper, it reinforces the image of the blessed John Paul II as a man of heroic virtues, perfectly fulfilling his priestly and apostolic mission. The litany has a form of a supplicating and worshipping prayer and contains all stylistic determinants of a litany. It is conventional, dialogic, formulic and solemn, specific in wording style and not very decorative. The author argues that the genre pattern, despite its ossification, constitutes a set of rules enabling the generation of new texts.
Artykuł jest lingwistyczną analizą tekstu Litanii do błogosławionego Jana Pawła II, jednej z najnowszych realizacji konwencji modlitwy litanijnej (powstała bowiem w roku 2011). Uwzględnia też w tle Litanię do błogosławionych Franciszka i Hiacynty z roku 2012. Wzorzec gatunkowy litanii zawiera utrwalony przez tradycję schemat kompozycyjny modlitwy litanijnej. Modlitwa ta jest w interpretacji autorki gatunkiem w formie kolekcji, ponieważ składa się z litanii właściwej (zbioru wezwań do osoby ze sfery sakralnej i powtarzanych formuł błagalnych) oraz tekstów stowarzyszonych. Analizowana litania ma typową dla gatunku kompozycję, gdyż zawiera wszystkie (także kliszowane) składniki wzorca. Utrwala w kilku wezwaniach, umieszczonych w litanii właściwej, obraz błogosławionego Jana Pawła II jako człowieka o heroicznych cnotach, wypełniającego swą kapłańską i apostolską misję w sposób doskonały. Jest formą modlitwy błagalnej i wielbiącej. Zawiera wszystkie wyznaczniki stylistyczne litanii. Jest szablonowa, dialogowa, formuliczna i podniosła, konkretna w stylu wysłowienia i mało ozdobna. Autorka dowodzi, że wzorzec gatunkowy litanii mimo skostnienia służy jako zbiór reguł pozwalających redagować nowe teksty.
Der Beitrag stellt die linguistische Textanalyse der Litanei zum seligen Diener Gottes Johannes Paul II dar, die als die neuste Realisierungsform der Konvention der Litanei (entstanden im Jahre 2011) gilt. In der Arbeit wird auch auf die Litanei zu den seligen Dienern Gottes Jacinta und Francesco (2012) Bezug genommen. Das Textmuster der Litanei umfasst das tradierte Kompositionsschema eines Litaneigebets. Dieses Gebet ist - so die These der Autorin – eine Textsorte, die die Form einer Kollektion annimmt, weil sie aus der eigentlichen Litanei (also aus einer Sammlung an Anrufungen einer Person aus dem sakralen Bereich und der wiederholbaren Bittformeln) sowie aus sekundären Textteilen besteht. Die analysierte Litanei hat eine für die Gattung/Textsorte typische Komposition, weil sie alle (auch klischeehafte) Elemente eines Musters enthält. Die Litanei fixiert in den Anrufungen, die in der eigentlichen Litanei enthalten sind, das Bild des seligen Johannes Paul II als Menschen, der heroisch war und der auch seinen priesterlichen und göttlichen Auftrag vorzüglich erfüllte. Die Litanei ist eine Form der Fürbitte und des Lobpreisgebets; sie enthält alle stilistischen Merkmale einer Litanei und ist schablonenhaft, dialogisch, gehoben und konkret im Äußerungsstil, auch arm an Schmuck. Die Autorin beweist, dass das Textmuster/Gattungsmuster der Litanei trotz der Erstarrung als eine Menge von Regeln fungiert, die neue Texte entstehen lässt.

The aim of this paper is to analyse Henryk Sienkiewicz’s reports on painting exhibitions from the genological viewpoint. The reports were published in „Gazeta Polska” (“The Polish Gazette”) in the period 1879–1881, in „Kronika miejscowa” (“Local Chronicle”) column. The texts are an interesting object of research due to their not fully determined genological status: for some researchers these are feuilletons, for others – critical reports, that is reviews in fact. Material analyses permit the location of Henryk Sienkiewicz’s accounts on painting exhibitions within the genre fi eld of reviews, with complex correlations between review and feuilleton and between review and report taken into consideration. As was rightly noticed by Bożena Witosz “genres crystallise their features together with other forms of expression which function in a given culture at a particular time” (2005: 181). Reports are a realisation of the alternate review pattern. Modifications resulting in the creation of a variant refer to: limiting the subject matter to evaluation of paintings (the cognitive aspect), combining information with evaluation and opinion (the structural aspect), expanding the illocutionary potential (the reports fulfilled various functions: information, education, popularisation, persuasion). As regards stylistic features, multi-style, resulting from the abundance of style registers, is typical of reports.

Celem artykułu jest pokazanie reportażu jako gatunku wypowiedzi stosowanego w glottodydaktyce polonistycznej w celu kształtowania kompetencji genologicznej. Autorka przyjmuje, że gatunek ten dla celów nauczania języka polskiego jako obcego, obok zrealizowania głównych intencji pragmatycznych, służy także kształceniu lub ewaluacji umiejętności językowych oraz nabywaniu kompetencji interkulturowych. Do opisu gatunku wykorzystana zostanie koncepcja wzorca gatunkowego Marii Wojtak, obejmującego aspekty: strukturalny, pragmatyczny, poznawczy i stylistyczny, realizowanego w postaci kanonicznej, wariantów alternacyjnych lub adaptacyjnych. Reportaż jawi się jako gatunek o strukturze wykazującej osłabioną szablonowość i bardzo różnorodnej tematyce. Intencją reportażystów jest wszechstronne i sugestywne przedstawienia faktów, których tematyka obejmuje szerokie spektrum wydarzeń z życia społecznego, politycznego, kulturalnego. Wypowiedzi reportażowe cechuje obiektywizm, obrazowość, emocjonalność i wielostylowość. Przedstawione są różne punkty widzenia; wyraźna jest także osobowość autora. W artykule zostały także przedstawione przykłady wypowiedzi reportażowych, pochodzące ze zbiorów reportaży Ryszarda Kapuścińskiego, a także praktyczne wskazówki do wykorzystania na zajęciach języka polskiego jako obcego.
The aim of the article is to show reportage as a genre of speech to be used in teaching Polish as a foreign language in the context of genre studies. The author assumes that reportage used in teaching Polish to foreigners, besides the realization of the main illocutions of the genre, contributes to the development or evaluation of learner’s language skills and acquisition of intercultural competence. The genre will be described using the concept of genre pattern by Maria Wojtak, including structural, pragmatic, cognitive and stylistic aspects, accomplished in the canon form, alternative versions or adaptive variants. Reportage turns out to be a genre with a structure showing a weakened conventionality and highly diversified themes. The intention of reportage authors is a comprehensive and suggestive presentation of facts, and their themes include a wide scope of events from social, political and cultural life. The texts are objective, imaginative, emotional and multi-styled. The sender shows different points of view but also his own personality. The article presents examples of reportage, coming from collections by Ryszard Kapuściński, as well as practical guidelines helpful in teaching Polish as a foreign language.

Na państwowych egzaminach certyfikatowych z języka polskiego jako obcego w zestawach egzaminacyjnych w części pisanie znajdują się zadania, których celem jest sprawdzenie umiejętności poprawnego redagowania popularnych polskich gatunków użytkowych. Autorki dokonują przeglądu wypowiedzi pisemnych z roku 2019 pod kątem ich poprawności gatunkowej przede wszystkich w aspekcie strukturalnym. Analizie poddano prace osób wschodniosłowiańskiego pochodzenia, ponieważ Słowianie ze Wschodu stanowią zdecydowaną większość wśród zdających państwowy egzamin certyfikatowy. Z tego samego względu oglądowi poddano arkusze egzaminacyjne z poziomu B1 – cieszącego się największą popularnością wśród cudzoziemców. Zestawienie błędów może być przydatne w pracy glottodydaktycznej podczas zajęć poświęconych rozwijaniu sprawności pisania.
There are tasks on the state certificate examinations in Polish as a foreign language, included in examination papers in the part: Writing, aiming at checking of the skill of foreigners to properly formulate texts representing certain popular Polish pragmatic genres. The authors provide a survey of written utterances from 2019 in terms of their genological correctness, mainly in the structural aspect. They analyzed texts were written by persons of East Slavic origin, since Slavs from the East constitute a considerate majority of candidates taking the Polish state certificate examination. Due to the same reason, the analyses focused on examination sheets from B1 level – this level is the most popular with the foreigners. Making a list of errors may be useful in the Polish language teaching in classes dedicated to development of the skill of writing.
