    Opis:
    The tendency in researching language stylistics is that researchers rather start from a certain style and assign language properties to it, including syntactic ones. In the presented article, which is based on the model of functional syntax (Kiklewicz 1999; 2004), the author suggests an opposite research perspective, that is analysis of stylistic properties of specific kinds of syntactic structures. Being completion of the former description rule this research suggestion contributes to a comprehensive presentation of language competence where stylistic markedness of language units constitutes an important aspect. For this reason and due to isolation of categorical content of the function, scope of its meaning and reference the suggestion depicted is so helpful in comparing languages.

    This paper discusses the need of creating a functional descriptive grammar of Polish, particularly its syntax, for the purposes of teaching Polish to foreign learners. Frequent problems in learning and teaching Polish syntax have been presented. A functionally-oriented descriptive syntax of Polish should include the presentation of structural, semantic and syntagmatic relationships in sentences. The description should take into account the problems that foreign learners have in learning Polish.

    The purpose of a grammatical theory is to specify the mechanisms and principles that can characterize the relations of acceptable sentences in particular languages to the meanings that they express. It is sometimes proposed that the simplest and most explanatory way of arranging the formal mechanisms of grammatical description is to allow them to produce unacceptable representations or derivations for some meanings and then to appeal to a global principle of economy to control this overgeneration. Thus there is an intuition common to many syntactic theories that a given meaning should be expressed in the most economical way, that smaller representations or shorter derivations should be chosen over larger ones. In this paper we explore the conceptual and formal issues of Economy as it has been discussed within the theory of Lexical Functional Grammar. In LFG the metric of Economy is typically formulated in terms of the size of one component of syntactic representation – the surface constituent structure tree – but it is often left unstated which trees for a given meaning are to be compared and how they are to be measured. We present a framework within which alternative explicit definitions of Economy can be formulated, and examine some phenomena for which Economy has been offered as an explanation. However, we observe that descriptive devices already available and independently motivated within the traditional LFG formalism can also account for these phenomena directly, without relying on cross-derivational comparisons to compensate for overgeneration. This leads us to question whether Economy is necessary or even useful as a separate principle of grammatical explanation.

    Celem artykułu jest analiza zróżnicowania strukturalnego oraz funkcjonalnego hashtagów – zewidencjonowanie ich typów formalnych oraz zilustrowanie przykładowych funkcji, które mogą być determinowane przez formę znacznika, ale także od niej niezależne. Autorka dzieli hashtagi na jedno- i wieloskładnikowe, omawia ich strukturę składniową oraz formę gramatyczną stosowanych w nich związków wyrazowych. Pokazuje hashtag jako zjawisko in statu nascendi, wskazując na zmiany jego struktury oraz roli w komunikacji internetowej.
    The purpose of the article is to analyse the structural and functional differentiation of hashtags – to record their formal types and illustrate functions which can be determined by the tag’s form but also independent of it. The author divides hashtags into one- and multicomponent ones, discusses their syntactic structure, grammatical form of the phrases used in them, and shows hashtag as a phenomenon in statu nascendi, pointing to the changes of its structure and its role in the internet communication.

    Artykuł przedstawia charakterystykę właściwości gramatycznych i semantyczno-leksykalnych operatora metapredykatywnego tuż. Głównym celem artykułu jest ustalenie ograniczeń składniowych i leksykalno-semantycznych dotyczących prawostronnej pozycji syntaktycznej otwieranej przez operator tuż. W artykule uzasadnia się hipotezę, że tuż implikuje frazę przyimkową mającą znaczenie przestrzenne lub temporalne.
    In the paper grammatical and semantic features of the metapredicative operator in the shape of tuż ‘just’ are discussed in the detail. The word under consideration opens one syntactic position on its right side. The aim of the paper is to present syntactic and lexical-semantic restrictions concerning this position. The author justifies the hypothesis that metapredicative operator tuż implies a prepositional phrase which has spatial or temporal meaning.

    Im Artikel werden polnische Existenzialkonstruktionen untersucht, die den deutschen es gibt‑Sätzen entsprechen. In Betracht werden folgende Schwerpunkte gezogen: die syntaktische Funktion des Pronomens es in den existenzialen es gibt‑Sätzen, die syntaktische Bestimmung der NP in den polnischen Entsprechungen, die satzfinale Position der verfügbaren NP bei der existentialen Lesart in der Informationsstruktur sowie die Kongruenzmarkierungen in den Verneinungsformen der es gibt‑Entsprechungen im Polnischen. Es wird überlegt, welche Möglichkeiten für die Erklärung das DVG‑Modell anbietet und durch welche andere Vorschläge es ergänzt werden kann.
    The paper presents an analysis of the Polish existential constructions equivalent to the German “es gibt” sentences. The focus lies on the following aspects: the syntactic function of the pronoun es in the existential “es gibt” sentences, syntactic determination of the nominal phrase (NP) in the Polish equivalents of the German sentences, the explanation of the sentence‑final position of the NP in the information structure (in case of existential reading), as well as the agreement markers in the Polish equivalents of the “es gibt” sentences with negation. The author of the paper gives consideration to the possible explanations offered by the dependency grammar model and to how these explanations can be supplemented and enhanced by other approaches.

    The article discusses modifications in structures with omission and repetition of language components, common in the poetic works of the national poet of Belarus Maxim Tank and honored worker of culture in Poland Victor Shved. Incomplete simple sentences and compound parts of complex sentences with contextual omission of syntactic positions of subject and predicate, as well as constructions with repetition of a single word expressed by nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs are analyzed.
    W artykule omówiono modyfikacje w konstrukcjach z opuszczeniem/pominięciem i powtórzeniem komponentów językowych, dominujących w utworach poetyckich narodowego wieszcza Białorusi Maksyma Tanka oraz zasłużonego działacza kulturalnego Polski Wiktora Szweda. Przeprowadzono analizę prostych zdań niezakończonych i zdań złożonych z opuszczeniem kontekstowym składniowych pozycji podmiotu i orzeczenia, a także konstrukcji z powtórzeniem jednego słowa wyrażonego rzeczownikiem, zaimkiem, przymiotnikiem, czasownikiem i przysłówkiem.

    W artykule zostaje poddane analizie zjawisko parcelacji w tekście powieści Marii Matios Kraina bukowa. Sens badań polega na rozważeniu parcelacji jako charakterystycznej cechy indywidualnego stylu pisarki. Parcelacja jest rozpatrywana z punktu widzenia strukturalno-kompozycyjnego, semantyczno-znaczeniowego, intencjonalno-pragmatycznego. Stosowanie figur parcelacyjnych przyczynia się do zwiększenia nasycenia informacyjnego tekstu artystycznego, podkreśla również wyrazistość wypowiedzi. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie komunikatywnego i pragmatycznego podejścia do badania tego zjawiska. Przeprowadzone badania potwierdziły, że konstrukcje rozparcelowane w twórczości artystycznej współczesnych powieściopisarzy ukraińskich mają orientację komunikacyjną i pragmatyczną. Główną funkcją badanych figur w tekście literackim jest selekcja logiczna, często połączona z funkcjami pomocniczymi: wyklarowaniem, konkretyzacją, aktualizacją myśli, wyrażaniem znaczeń modalnych.
    The article presents an analysis of parcellation in Mariia Matios’ famous novel. Its aim is to consider parcellation as a characteristic feature of the writer’s style. Parcellation is considered from special structural-compositional, semantic-meaning and intentional-pragmatic perspectives. The author employs communicative and pragmatic approaches to study this phenomenon. The use of parcellation figures contributes to increasing the information saturation of an artistic text, while also emphasising the expressiveness of the statement. The aim of this article is to present a communicative and pragmatic approach to the study of this phenomenon. The research confirms that parcellated constructions in the artistic works of contemporary Ukrainian novelists have both a communicative and a pragmatic orientation. The main function of the figures in a literary text studied here is that of logical selection, which is often combined with auxiliary functions: clarification, concretisation, actualisation of thoughts, expression of modal meanings.
