Opis:
The present study shows, on the basis of latest sources and monographies, the evolution of family farms in the Federal Republic of Germany in the post-war period, i.e. the causes and the course of the evolution and the prospects of the family agricultural farm. After World War II the process of technization of agriculture, expansion of financial capital to industrial sectors creating means for agricultural production and food industries gave impetus to rapid changes in farms and social microstructures in the country. The creation of the means of agricultural production and manufacturing of agricultural products and their sale have totally been separated from the farmer and farming. The family farm is becoming a specialized producing unit. Live stock farms (milk cow breeding, fattering cattle breeding, pultry breeding — Futterbaubetriebe) are dominant. Commercial farms directed to vegetable production (grain, potatoes, white beans, corn — Marktfruchtbetriebe), approximately 24% of the total number of farms constitute the next category. The three remaining categories are: perennial „culture” farms — Dauerkulturbetriebe: vine, hop, etc., farms for breeding — Veredlungsbetriebe and combined farms. All these farm categories constitute the so-called „agriculture farms”. Another class is formed by vegatable-horticultural farms devided into several categories in a similar way on account of their specialization. The agricultural farm is becoming a mechanized producing unit. The mechanization is of diversified character and it is applied to production operations and procedures, crops, sowing, spreading fertilizer, soil cultivation, transportation, farmyard activities, preparation and delivering of food, etc. The agricultural farm is becoming integrated into the industrial and commercial system. The processes of specialization, mechanization and integration are accompanied by decreased labour supply, in that a 62% labour decrease among family members and for the hired labour force an 88 per cent and 47,3 per cent decrease for permanent and part-time workers respectively with regard to comparison of 1979 to 1950/51. In 1975 the average employment per 100 ha was 8,9 AK (Arbeitskraft), i.e. labour force items. One AK equals the work of one person aged 16-65 employed throughout a whole year in a agriculture farm exclusively. From the statistical point of view there were 1,2 AK (labour force items) per one farm. The agricultural farm is becoming to a substantial extent a one-company (one- person) producing unit temporally or casually aided by a family member or a hired labourer. The agrarian structure is undergoing transformation. Only from 1949 to 1979 the number of farms decreased 49 per cent, i.e. from 1.646.800 farms to 815.200 farms in 1979. Farms of smaller area disappear, i.e. farms up 20 ha, as well as those o(f 30 ha in the period of 1980 to 1982, whereas the number and the area of farms over 30 ha are increasing and particularly those over 50 ha. The concentration of land as well as the concentration of live stock in animal breeding farms can be observed. The population employed in agriculture is to a large extent two-professional. In 1980 there were 49,8% of the farms in F.R.G. in which farm owners earned outside their farms, their main income being drawn from the farm. What characterizes the situation in F.R.G. agriculture is the decrease of the category of the additionally employed, e.g. in 1966 they covered 25,8% of the farms’ total number in that country. Whereas there is an increase in farms’ percentage in which their owners draw income mainly outside their farms (Nebenerwerbsbetriebe), e.g. from 33,4% of the farms total number in 1966 to 39,3% in 1980. The country population of F.R.G. has undergone the process of feminization and ageing in the post-war period, but they have been cheeked in recent years. West Germany agriculture is characterized by the big and rapid growth of labour productivity and the overall growth of agricultural production in that country. However, the income drawn by the farmer from his farm is still lower than the wage of worker employed in industry. The income disparity is very sharp in comparison with owners of smaller farms having lowest incomes. Therefore agriculture is subsidired in many ways and in various forms. There are three conceptions in determining prospects of the family’ run farm in West Germany. The first forecast can be described as a vision of an individual, modern ever — modernizing family farm. The second conception presupposes the evolution of family farms towards larger co-operative farming associations. The third prognosis looks upon the present stage of development of the family farm as its decline. The evolution clearly tends towards concentration of land and constant declining of the so-called smaller farms and their more and more decreasing number with greater and greater agriculture plots based an mechanization and employment of workers who are not farm owners. Agriculture technology implies the development of great commercial agriculture farms. The fourth prognosis is based on the assumption and on the evaluation of the previous evolution as the one which follows a false direction and it forecasts a return to the traditional farm, modernized and with multi-rotation of crops as well as the one of small area and adapted to ecological conditions.

Opis:
Contemporary changes in family structures, and first of all changes in social mentality and perception of the importance of family relationships, undoubtedly bear the evolution hallmarks. This concept does not necessarily mean a change for the better, but it may also identify the degeneration and the change of adverse quality. There is no doubt that appreciation of woman’s role and impact, emphasis put on the equal dignity of the spouses, the necessity of their mutual respect and subjectivity of children are the steps in the right direction. However, the attempt to redefine the concept of the family without taking into account the type and quality of bonds between parents (whether they are married or not) and aiming to treat any kind of adult relationship (regardless of their gender) to whom children are assigned as a family should be considered a highly problematic trend. It contrasts with the essential elements of the Christian perspective on family. The starting point of Christian reflection on the family is, on one hand, God’s pre-intention towards the man included on the first pages of the Bible with the covenant marriage as the main element, and on the other hand, a kind of anthropological realism which perceives fragility and threats of this primary and natural communion. However, irrespective of accepted assumptions, there is no doubt that the stability of the family whose key element is a permanent heterosexual relationship between parents becomes a prerequisite of the successful socialization of the young generation. In this sense the future fate of the society depends on durability and quality of the family. All attempts of relativization of the family should be considered as disquieting, beginning with promotion of informal relationships up to attempts at giving privilege to same-sex relationships and granting them privileges analogical to those enjoyed by the family. Concern for the family is one of the most important responsibilities of the state, therefore one of the elements of restoring its proper social status is demanding from the government not to confine the family policy only to pre-election promises.

The article deals with the evolution of foster care, especially its legal aspect. The author refers to the idea of protection of human rights and the principle of subsidiarity as philosophical grounds for the functioning of this institution. Foster care can assume either the form of kinship placement (foster families, family-type children’s home) or an institutional form (various types of institutional establishments). The law prefers kinship placement, but the author emphasizes that in fact the best form of foster care is the one which in a specific situation offers the greatest chance of the child’s return to its family. The Act on Supporting the Family and the System of Foster Care passed on 9th June 2011 is evidence of the functioning of foster care first and foremost as a form of supporting the family.

Opis:
Rab GTPases are a vast group of proteins serving a role of master regulators in membrane trafficking in eukaryotes. Previous studies delineated some 23 Rab and Rab-like paralogs ancestral for eukaryotes and mapped their current phylogenetic distribution, but the analyses relied on a limited sampling of the eukaryotic diversity. Taking advantage of the recent growth of genome and transcriptome resources for phylogenetically diverse plants and algae, we reanalyzed the evolution of the Rab family in eukaryotes with the primary plastid, collectively constituting the presumably monophyletic supergroup Archaeplastida. Our most important novel findings are as follows: (i) the ancestral set of Rabs in Archaeplastida included not only the paralogs Rab1, Rab2, Rab5, Rab6, Rab7, Rab8, Rab11, Rab18, Rab23, Rab24, Rab28, IFT27, and RTW (=Rabl2), as suggested previously, but also Rab14 and Rab34, because Rab14 exists in glaucophytes and Rab34 is present in glaucophytes and some green algae; (ii) except in embryophytes, Rab gene duplications have been rare in Archaeplastida. Most notable is the independent emergence of divergent, possibly functionally novel, in-paralogs of Rab1 and Rab11 in several archaeplastidial lineages; (iii) recurrent gene losses have been a significant factor shaping Rab gene complements in archaeplastidial species; for example, the Rab21 paralog was lost at least six times independently within Archaeplastida, once in the lineage leading to the “core” eudicots; (iv) while the glaucophyte Cyanophora paradoxa has retained the highest number of ancestral Rab paralogs among all archaeplastidial species studied so far, rhodophytes underwent an extreme reduction of the Rab gene set along their stem lineage, resulting in only six paralogs (Rab1, Rab2, Rab6, Rab7, Rab11, and Rab18) present in modern red algae. Especially notable is the absence of Rab5, a virtually universal paralog essential for the endocytic pathway, suggesting that endocytosis has been highly reduced or rewired in rhodophytes.

The position of the Palaeozoic Anthracoptilidae has been a major problem of insect systematics for over a century. The previous hypotheses suggested affinities of Anthracoptilidae with the Palaeodictyopteroida, Protorthoptera, Hypoperlida, stem-Mantodea, Paraneoptera, Holometabola, or Eoblattida. Herein we put forward a new hypothesis based mainly on a comprehensive re-evaluation of the wing venation characters and re-examination of the type material of Anthracoptilus perrieri and Mesoptilus dolloi. The Anthracoptilidae are considered as belonging to the paoliid lineage, sister group of the Dictyoptera. In particular this result refutes the presence of Mantodea in the Paleozoic fossil record. The two families Strephocladidae and Strephoneuridae, are considered as junior synonyms of the Anthracoptilidae, while the previous synonymy of the Anthracoptilidae with the Ischnoneuridae is rejected. We consider the Permarrhaphidae, previously considered as synonym of the Anthracoptilidae, (and Permarrhaphus) as Insecta incertae sedis. The following new taxa are proposed: Mesoptilus carpenteri sp. nov. from the early Permian of Wellington Formation in Oklahoma (USA) which extends the range and distribution of the genus; Pseudomesoptilus gen. nov. is designated to include Mesoptilus sellardsi; Strephocladus permianus sp. nov. from the middle Permian of South of France; Westphaloptilus gallicus gen. et sp. nov. from the Bashkirian of the North of France.

Opis:
The Soviet law, which was created at the beginning of the 20th century in Soviet Russia, had evolved on the basis of the legal tradition of Continental Europe; it was a legal system based on the Marxist law theory as understood in Soviet Russia and later in the USSR and the countries that came under its influence, and it differed considerably from the idea of law in Roman and Germanic legal circles. Marxism-Leninism advocated actual equality in society, including gender equality, which determined Soviet state policy in the sphere of marriage and family law. Moreover, Marxism-Leninism turned against private property, which necessitated the separation of family law from civil law into a new individual branch – marriage and family law. In the spring of 1940 the Republic of Latvia was annexed to the Soviet Union. In the territories occupied by the USSR in 1940 – Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania – the previously existing national systems of law were replaced by Soviet law, which was grounded in Marxist-Leninist ideology. As a result of the Soviet marriage and family regulations being put in place, the following was established in the territory of Latvia: civil marriage as the only valid form of marriage, equality of spouses, and the equality in the rights of all children regardless of whether they were born in or outside of marriage. These, undoubtedly, were advanced and positive innovations. However, at the same time, a Soviet family was one that lost its private nature, as it was obliged to fulfil tasks of national importance. This, in turn, meant interference by the state and by society in family life; childless families had to pay a childlessness tax, so that the State could use those funds to support orphans, lone mothers and large families with many children.

The main purpose of the article is to analyse the changes that have occurred in the sphere of family functioning which are clearly visible in the modern world. Considerations in this regard include the historical development of the family and family relations with emphasis on its social role and the psychological and sociological aspects of family relations. Attention is given to the issues of legal qualification to the group of personal interests, such values as family life and family bond, which provided an incentive to distinguish an autonomical group of family personal interests and relevant subjective rights, such rights as: the right to an undisturbed family life, the right to live in a full family, the right to have parents, and the right to maintain and cultivate family contacts. Also addressed in the research is the impact of achievements in medical science and genetics in relation to the limits of procreative autonomy, now considered as a special family personal interest – the right to have a child.

The path to changing the concept of marriage led through a change in the understanding of the family. The EU Charter of Fundamental Rights was intended to cover cases in which national legislation recognizes other possibilities of family formation than marriage. Thus, the entry in the Charter has been shaped in such a way as to avoid a clear response to the new issue of same-sex relationships; that is, it neither permits nor prohibits because of trends based on social movements. This does not affect the institution of marriage itself, but allows the recognition of other forms of family found in the internal regulations of the states as corresponding to marriage.

Opis:
Alcohol addiction leads to the situation when the people creating a family become subjects of a faulty micro community. A family is a micro community of a society. It is important to give adequate help to the family so that it will not lead to the continuation of generational dysfunction. The help granted to people who are addicted to alcohol can be divided into two stages. The first one happens outside a courtroom and takes place before a communal commission for solving alcohol-related problems. The second stage usually occurs when the person who is addicted to alcohol does not agree to enter the treatment voluntarily in the proceedings before a communal commission for solving alcohol-related problems. The restitution of family values and re-creation of matrimonial and parental bonds in a healing process to a great extend depends on the source of alcohol problems and the family developmental phases, i.e. early, middle or final ones. An early phase is conducive to the best results, because this is the time when the family starts, looks into the future and has hopes related to the treatment. In remaining developmental stages those perspectives should be encouraged if we want the treatment to result in healing.

Wprowadzenie. Obserwujemy przejmowanie klasycznych funkcji rodziny przez wyspecjalizowane instytucje (np. prokreacja w sztucznych warunkach laboratorium, wychowanie dziecka w żłobkach i przedszkolach, opieka nad osobami starszymi i niepełnosprawnymi w domach pomocy społecznej). Wiele z tych kwestii poważnie narusza podstawowe zasady moralne i religijne. Cel. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie zmian w funkcjonowaniu polskiej rodziny. Wyniki i wnioski.
Introduction. The evolution of the Polish family takes place under the influence of systemic, political, economic, social, and legislative changes. They undertake many tasks that the family previously performed outside of it. We observe the taking over of the classic functions of the family by specialized institutions (e.g., procreation in artificial laboratory conditions, raising a child in nurseries and kindergartens, caring for the elderly and the disabled in nursing homes, etc.). Many of these issues seriously violate fundamental moral and religious principles. The evolution taking place in the family is visible in every sphere of its life. Changes in the Polish family are slowly taking place, imitating the life of a Western family. Probably a Polish family, set in a specific cultural and historical context, will follow its own path of change. Aim. The aim of the article is to present changes in the functioning of the Polish family. Results and conclusions. The evolution taking place in the family is visible in every sphere of its life. Slowly, changes in the Polish family are taking place, imitating the life of a Western family. Probably a Polish family set in a specific cultural and historical context will follow its own path of change. At the moment, the Polish family is not fully enchanted by “postmodernity”. Rather, it is a combination of late modernity features with those of a traditional Polish family.
