Wisława Szymborska’s poem in a subtle ironic way attributes “political” to everything in our life. But is the political the interpretative category of our existence, indeed? Why is the politics so often associated with the negative aspect of reality? The main reason is that the language we use is polluted by various ideologies and the political as the adjective becomes contrasted with social or civic, thus loosing its original meaning. The person, that is ideologically biased, should translate Greek politikòn as relational rather than social or civic. Everyone has his/her indispensablerelational nature: has some relations with himself/herself, with the others – persons and groups; as a person open to the transcendence – has relations with God; and with the nature – the environment where he or she lives. One can be an integral person only if he/she was aware of the possible relations: fulfill them and harmonize them, understanding their interdependencies. This is not only reason that controls our relations, they are also controlled by emotions which are very complex phenomena. Pascal would say: “The heart has its reasons, whereof reason does not know.” Emotions arise because of the way the event is perceived not because of the event itself. In a political sphere this is not the institution that determines the emotions, rather the way the institution is experienced and perceived. The human being is something bigger than we can explain. It is inexplicable because it is a mystery. Therefore, when we talk about the human being, the language of a specialist is not enough-we should use other forms of communications, taken from poetry, art and spirituality.

Contemporary research on remembrance yields more and more women’s concentration camp testimonies and evidence of their unique character. The names quoted in these materials include Liana Millu (1914-2005), an Italian women of Jewish descent, an Auschwitz-Birkenau and Ravensbrück prisoner. Her work proves that the experience of trauma, though unimaginable, is utterable. Millu resorts to literary fiction to outline life stories of Birkenau women, their typical problems, ways of dealing with tham, as well as the survival strategies thay employed. Liana Millu’s testimony is an unusual attempt to show how women experienced the trauma of the camp.

In the teaching of Italian L2, learners and teachers encounter difficulties when they are faced with the issue of auxiliary selection in the formation of compound tenses. If we analyse the way grammars for foreigners deal with the problem, we notice—between hypertrophic classifications and lists of exceptions—the lack of a model that is able to explain the phenomenon in a systematic and exhaustive manner. Looking at the source, i.e., the Italian L1 grammars, the syntactic model based on the distinction between transitive and intransitive verbs, both in its traditional and non-accusative version, is not suitable for application in L2 teaching, especially in the case of learners from countries where little room during class time is given to metalinguistic reflection. This paper aims to suggest an alternative semantic model that is capable of representing an orientation tool for learners and finding a balance between theoretical and teaching needs, as well as between learning and acquisition. According to our model—which moves the attention from government to diathesis and starts from the meaning of the auxiliaries as autonomous verbs—avere is used when the effects of the action expressed by the verb are directed towards the external world. Meanwhile, essere is used when such effects are directed towards the subject itself, that is, when the syntactic subject of the sentence represents the semantic object of the event, and it therefore assumes the role of the patient, typical of passive and middle diathesis.
Nell’ambito della didattica dell’italiano L2 è nota la difficoltà in cui si imbattono insegnanti e apprendenti quando si trovano ad affrontare la questione dell’alternanza degli ausiliari nella formazione dei tempi composti. Esaminando il modo in cui il problema è trattato nelle grammatiche per stranieri, si nota, tra ipertrofiche classificazioni e teorie di eccezioni, la mancanza di un modello esplicativo capace di dare ragione in maniera organica ed esaustiva del fenomeno. Volgendo lo sguardo alla fonte, ossia alle grammatiche di italiano L1, il modello sintattico fondato sulla distinzione tra verbi transitivi e intransitivi, sia nella sua variante tradizionale sia in quella inaccusativa, risulta ben poco adatto a trovare applicazione nell’ambito della didattica L2, soprattutto nel caso di apprendenti provenienti da paesi nella cui tradizione scolastica si dà poco spazio alla riflessione metalinguistica. Questo contributo si propone di suggerire un modello alternativo di natura semantica capace di rappresentare uno strumento di orientamento per gli apprendenti e di trovare un punto di equilibrio tra esigenze teoriche e didattiche, così come tra apprendimento e acquisizione. Secondo tale modello, che sposta l’attenzione dalla reggenza alla diatesi e muove dal significato degli ausiliari in quanto verbi autonomi, si usa avere quando gli effetti dell’azione espressa dal verbo sono rivolti verso il mondo esterno, essere quando tali effetti sono rivolti verso il soggetto stesso, ossia quando il soggetto sintattico della frase rappresenta l’oggetto semantico dell’evento, assumendo così il ruolo di paziente proprio della diatesi passiva e media.

This article attempts to examine the passive auxiliaries in modern Italian and how they are presented to the Italian language learners. A growing body of research has been throwing light on the fact that the passive auxiliaries are not only the canonical essere and venire, but also andare, which is open to a twofold interpretation («modal passive» and «loss passive»), as well as rimanere, restare, trovarsi, vedersi and finire. In view of this, the analysis of syllabi of Italian L2 and of Italian grammar books has been carried out. The analysis of seven syllabi has confirmed the tendency to introduce the passive voice at B2 level. As far as auxiliaries are concerned, the syllabi refer explicitly to five: essere, venire, andare, restare andrimanere. The second analysis, carried out on sixteen grammar textbooks for Italian language learning, has shown some weakness regarding the teaching of passive auxiliaries, such as a) lack of any semantic differentiation between use of essere and venire; b) a certain selectivity in presenting aspects of the remainder of auxiliaries (andare, rimanere, vedersi, trovarsi and finire are rarely presented in their entirety); c) various theoretical disagreements in the presentation of the rules that guide the use of passive auxiliaries.

Antropologia patrystyczna wypływa z refleksji nad natchnionymi tekstami Pisma Świętego, które nadają jej szczególną i wyjątkową rangę. Badając Objawienie Boże w kluczu antropologicznym, najstarsi myśliciele chrześcijańscy skupili się przede wszystkim na Księdze Rodzaju i listach Pawłowych, gdyż te właśnie teksty ukazują wyraźnie naturę człowieka i jego transcendentne powołanie, umieszczając je bądź to w szeroko rozumianym tle teologicznym, bądź to na płaszczyźnie chrystologicznej. Elementy określające byt ludzki odnajdujemy głównie w opisie stworzenia. Ponieważ jednak wchodzą one w relację z innymi danymi biblijnymi, opis ten musi pozostawać w łączności z pozostałymi filarami objawienia, a szczególnie z wcieleniem Słowa Bożego, które podnosi ludzką cielesność do godności podłoża (substratu) Osoby Chrystusa, i ze zmartwychwstaniem ciał, które ukazuje materię jak rzeczywistość ściśle należącą do definicji osoby. Ojcowie Kościoła uchwycili tę głęboką spójność i odczytali temat stworzenia człowieka na obraz Boży w kluczu chrystologicznym i eschatologicznym.

Per metafisica si intende quella parte eminentne della filosofia che si propone di rinvenire una spiegazione esaustiva e conclusiva del mondo. Essa studia la ragione ultima dell’ente. Gli storici e gli commentatori dell’Aquinate avevano sempre identificato la metafisica di San Tommaso d’Aquino con la metafisica di Arisotele. La vasta tematica che fa parte della metafisica, san Tommaso l’ha affrontato soltanto occasionalmente, in svarie opere senza nessuna pretesa di elaborare una teoria metafisica nuova. E merito insigne dell’esegesi tomistica del secolo XX l’aver messo in luce sia l’originalità sia la grandezza del pensiero metafisico di san Tommaso d’Aquino. Tutta l’indagine metafisica di Aristotele muove verso la sostanza. Invece per san Tommaso ciò che costituisce l’ente in quanto ente e l’essere, poiché, per definizione l’ente non e altro che ciò che possiede l’essere, e più precisamente ancora l’ente e ciò che partecipa all’essere. Tommaso e convinto che l’essere e „l’atto di tutti gli atti e la perfezione di tutte le perfezioni”.
