Opis:: Objectives: The aim of this paper is to identify the factors that determine the environmental domain of quality of life in economically active adults living in the industrial agglomeration in Poland. Materials and Methods: During the crosssectional epidemiological study conducted among the economically active population aged 45–60, we used a short version of the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Respondents were recruited randomly from selected factories located in the Silesian Agglomeration. The statistical analysis used descriptive and analytical methods available in the Statistica 9.0 software. Results: The results confi rmed the statistically signifi cant association between marital status, type of occupational activity, declared health status, and the environmental domain of quality of life in economically active inhabitants of the Silesian Agglomeration. The best qualities of life in the environmental domain were those of married people, white collars, and persons who declared their health status to be the best. Conclusions: The major determinants of environmental quality of life in economically active population living in the industrial agglomeration include non-occupational factors, such as marital status and current health status, while a signifi cantly better quality of life was associated with being a white-collar worker and not living in the vicinity of the road with heavy traffic. The results may be useful for future planned activities intended to improve the health and the quality of working life.

Opis:: The purpose of the study was to assess the differences in the level of sustainable development in environmental domain of voivodships in Poland in the years 2008-2015. Seven indicators belonging to 3 areas of the environmental domain (energy, air protection, waste management) were analysed with the use of principal component analysis (PCA) and the between-class PCA. The results revealed large differences between voivodships mainly due to the level of air pollutants emissions from plants especially noxious to air purity. It has also been shown that in the years 2008-2015 a visible increase in the outlays on fixed assets serving environmental protection and development of ecological awareness of society was observed.
Celem pracy była ocena różnic w poziomie zrównoważonego rozwoju województw w Polsce w zakresie ładu środowiskowego w latach 2008-2015. Do analiz wykorzystano 7 wskaźników ładu środowiskowego należących do 3 obszarów tematycznych (energia, ochrona powietrza, gospodarka odpadami). Zastosowano analizę głównych składowych (PCA) oraz międzygrupową analizę głównych składowych (between-class PCA). Na podstawie uzyskanych wyników stwierdzono występowanie różnic między województwami przede wszystkim ze względu na emisję zanieczyszczeń powietrza (gazowych i pyłowych) z zakładów szczególnie uciążliwych. Wykazano także, że w latach 2008-2015 nastąpił wyraźny wzrost nakładów na środki trwałe służące ochronie środowiska związane z oszczędzaniem energii elektrycznej a także rozwój świadomości ekologicznej społeczeństwa.

The article presents the review of modern systems and appliances within the scope of geophysics, automation and industrial metrology worked out in EMAG Institute of Innovative Technology which transfer is led by EMAG Technology Transfer Centre LLC. Selected solutions were presented, implemented in mining in order to increase the safety of staffs, comfort of their work and better and more economic and economical for environment of minerals exploitation.

Opis:: The process of conversion of facilities in the maritime domain zone in Croatia has been going on for more than thirty years. Use is largely structured as a lever to justify economic exploitation. Protection of the maritime domain, although crucial, is often of minor importance. Sensitivity is particularly important to consider for environmental protection when converting buildings. The paper analyses the conversion and complexity of potential environmental devastation. The specificity of the problem is often the illegal usurpation of the maritime domain, which leads to a collision of legal provisions and the real situation on the ground. A special problem is the determination of the boundaries of the maritime domain, which is a true representation of the complexity of the environmental protection procedure during the conversion of facilities on the maritime domain. Maritime domains on the territory of Croatia occupy a fairly large area concerning the entire state territory. It has a typical Mediterranean climate, relatively lush vegetation, exceptional attractiveness, and investment potential. These characteristics are the basis of strategic development and economic growth, but also a trap in case of over-exploitation, which creates the possibility of long-term intensive devastation of the maritime domain. Negative repercussions must be avoided because otherwise the meaning of every developmental aspect is lost. The purpose of the research is a comprehensive analysis of the conversion of facilities on the maritime domain and the identification of opportunities to achieve the highest standards in environmental protection. This would prevent environmental devastation.
