W raporcie z badań, na podstawie ćwiczenia (symulacji), przedstawiono uwarunkowania i możliwości sprawnego współdziałania podmiotów zarządzania kryzysowego (ZK) w sytuacji zaistnienia zdarzenia masowego, w tym przypadku katastrofy komunikacyjnej. Omówiono zakres, w jakim podmioty ZK zgodnie ze swoimi procedurami i zasadami, normami i wypracowaną dobrą praktyką koegzystencji realizują ustawowe w akcji ratowniczej zadania, które wyszczególnia się na czynności ratownicze i procesowe. Zrealizowane ćwiczenia z udziałem wszystkich (aplikacyjnie) podmiotów ZK w sytuacji identyfikacji zagrożenia bezpieczeństwa ruchu drogowego sformułowanego jako komunikacyjnego wypadku masowego, stanowiły integralną część projektu naukowo-badawczego. Uwzględniając zrealizowane badania empiryczne przedstawiono propozycje usprawnienia procesu (jego poprawy) współdziałania podmiotów zarządzania kryzysowego. Celem badań było zdiagnozowanie ograniczeń sprawnego współdziałania podmiotów ZK oraz sformułowanie warunków i propozycji usprawnienia tej współpracy.
The research report, based on an exercise (simulation), based on an exercise (simulation), presents the conditions and possibilities of efficient cooperation of crisis management entities in the event of a mass event, in this case a transport disaster. The scope in which ZK entities, in accordance with their procedures and principles, standards and developed good coexistence practice, implement statutory tasks in rescue operations, which are divided into rescue and procedural activities, was discussed. The exercises carried out with the participation of all (application) ZK entities in the situation of identifying a road safety threat formulated as a mass traffic accident were an integral part of the scientific project. Taking into account the empirical research carried out, proposals were presented to improve the process of cooperation between crisis management entities. The aim of the research was to diagnose the limitations of efficient cooperation of ZK entities and to formulate conditions and proposals for improving this cooperation.

Visible light communication based on a filter bank multicarrier holds enormous promise for optical wireless communication systems, due to its high-speed and unlicensed spectrum. Moreover, visible light communication techniques greatly impact communication links for small satellites like cube satellites, and pico/nano satellites, in addition to inter-satellite communications between different satellite types in different orbits. However, the transmitted visible signal via the filter bank multicarrier has a high amount of peak-to-average power ratio, which results in severe distortion for a light emitting diode output. In this work, a scheme for enhancing the peak-to-average power ratio reduction amount is proposed. First, an algorithm based on generating two candidates signals with different peak-to- average power ratio is suggested. The signal with the lowest ratio is selected and transmitted. Second, an alternate direct current-biased approach, which is referred to as the addition reversed method, is put forth to transform transmitted signal bipolar values into actual unipolar ones. The performance is assessed through a cumulative distribution function of peak-to-average power ratio, bit error rate, power spectral density, and computational complexity. The simulation results show that, compared to other schemes in literature, the proposed scheme attains a great peak-to-average power ratio reduction and improves the bit the error rate performance with minimum complexity overhead. The proposed approach achieved about 5 dB reduction amount compared to companding technique, 5.5 dB compared to discrete cosine transform precoding, and 8 dB compared to conventional direct current bias of an optical filter bank multicarrier. Thus, the proposed scheme reduces the complexity overhead by 15.7% and 55.55% over discrete cosine transform and companding techniques, respectively.

In the world, inert materials are used to obtain high-strength concrete, the volume weight of which is quite large. We cannot get concrete with low thermal conductivity from such inert materials. Therefore, in order to obtain high-strength, environmentally friendly and energy- -efficient concrete, it was necessary to investigate local inert materials. The subject of research is natural zeolite and recycled ceramic waste, as well as polystyrene as an additive and micro-silica in cement mass to achieve penetrating waterproofing. The mentioned materials are obtained in Georgia in sufficient quantity, which allows us to produce energy-efficient concrete of high strength, low thermal conductivity, as well as sound and waterproofing. It is safe for both people and the environment. The correct mix will be provided by materials found in the local market, and the desired and low energy efficiency ensures the production of an environmentally friendly concrete.

The speed of sound (SoS) in tissues reflects their mechanical properties and therefore can carry valuable diagnostic information. In conventional ultrasound sonography (US), however, this information is not readily available. Furthermore, since the actual SoS is unknown, image reconstruction is carried out using an average SoS value for soft tissues. The resulting local deviations from the actual SoS lead to aberrations in US images. Methods for SoS imaging in US therefore have the potential to enable the correction of aberrations in classical US. In addition, they could also become a new US modality. There are several approaches to SoS image reconstruction. They differ in terms of input data requirements, computational complexity, imaging quality, and the potential for signal analysis at the intermediate stages of processing. This article presents an algorithm with multi-stage processing and low computational complexity. The algorithm was verified through numerical simulations and phantom measurements. The obtained results show that it can correctly estimate SoS in layered media, which in most cases model the tissue structure well. With its computational complexity of O(n), the algorithm can be implemented in real-time ultrasound imaging systems with limited hardware performance, such as portable ultrasound devices.

Opis:
Software defined networking (SDN) is an emerging network paradigm that separates the control plane from data plane and ensures programmable network management. In SDN, the control plane is responsible for decision-making, while packet forwarding is handled by the data plane based on flow entries defined by the control plane. The placement of controllers is an important research issue that significantly impacts the performance of SDN. In this work, we utilize clustering techniques to group networks into multiple clusters and propose an algorithm for optimal controller placement within each cluster. The evaluation involves the use of the Mininet emulator with POX as the SDN controller. By employing the silhouette score, we determine the optimal number of controllers for various topologies. Additionally, to enhance network performance, we employ the meeting point algorithm to calculate the best location for placing the controller within each cluster. The proposed approach is compared with existing works in terms of throughput, delay, and jitter using six topologies from the Internet Zoo dataset.

The main concept behind employing cognitive radio is to enable secondary users (SUs) or unlicensed users to utilize the available spectrum. Spectrum sensing methods detect the existence of primary users (PUs) and have become the main topic of research in the CRN industry and in academia. This paper proposes a new framework based on the Adam gradient descent (Adam GD) algorithm to develop a spectrum sensing mechanism used in CRNs and detecting the availability of free channels. The signal's components are extracted from the received signal and the spectrum is searched for availability which is detected through a fusion center using the proposed algorithm. The proposed Adam GD algorithm attains the maximum detection probability rate and the minimum false alarm probability of 0.71 and 0.39, respectively, for a Rayleigh channel.

Every closed-loop system holds a level of fault tolerance, which could be increased by using a fault tolerant control (FTC) scheme. In this paper, an efficient FTC scheme for a class of nonlinear systems (Euler-Lagrange ones) is proposed, which guarantees high performance and stability in a faulty system. This scheme was designed on the basis of a cascade control structure in which the inner loop is the closed-loop system and the external loop is the FTC, a generalized proportional integral (GPI) observer-based controller, which manages the fault tolerance level increment. An important issue of the proposed scheme is that the GPI observer-based controller jointly estimates disturbances and faults, providing information about the state of health of the system, and then compensates their effect. The scheme is efficient because only the inertia matrix is required for the controller design, it is able to preserve the nominal control law unchanged and can operate properly without explicit information about system faults (fault diagnostic module). Simulation results, on a pendulum model, show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme for tracking control.

Customer churn prediction is used to retain customers at the highest risk of churn by proactively engaging with them. Many machine learning-based data mining approaches have been previously used to predict client churn. Although, single model classifiers increase the scattering of prediction with a low model performance which degrades reliability of the model. Hence, Bag of learners based Classification is used in which learners with high performance are selected to estimate wrongly and correctly classified instances thereby increasing the robustness of model performance. Furthermore, loss of interpretability in the model during prediction leads to insufficient prediction accuracy. Hence, an Associative classifier with Apriori Algorithm is introduced as a booster that integrates classification and association rule mining to build a strong classification model in which frequent items are obtained using Apriori Algorithm. Also, accurate prediction is provided by testing wrongly classified instances from the bagging phase using generated rules in an associative classifier. The proposed models are then simulated in Python platform and the results achieved high accuracy, ROC score, precision, specificity, F-measure, and recall.

Today’s electricity management mainly focuses on smart grid implementation for better power utilization. Supply-demand balancing, and high operating costs are still considered the most challenging factors in the smart grid. To overcome this drawback, a Markov fuzzy real-time demand-side manager (MARKOV FRDSM) is proposed to reduce the operating cost of the smart grid system and maintain a supply-demand balance in an uncertain environment. In addition, a non-linear model predictive controller (NMPC) is designed to give a global solution to the non-linear optimization problem with real-time requirements based on the uncertainties over the forecasted load demands and current load status. The proposed MARKOV FRDSM provides a faster scale power allocation concerning fuzzy optimization and deals with uncertainties and imprecision. The implemented results show the proposed MARKOV FRDSM model reduces the cost of operation of the microgrid by 1.95%, 1.16%, and 1.09% than the existing method such as differential evolution and real coded genetic algorithm and maintains the supply-demand balance in the microgrid.

In this work, an efficient pedestrian attribute recognition system is introduced. The system is based on a novel processing pipeline that combines the best-performing attribute extraction model with an efficient attribute filtering algorithm using keypoints of human pose. The attribute extraction models are developed based on several state-of-the-art deep networks via transfer learning techniques, including ResNet50, Swin-transformer, and ConvNeXt. Pre-trained models of these networks are fine-tuned using the Ensemble Pedestrian Attribute Recognition (EPAR) dataset. Several optimization techniques, including the advanced optimizer Adam with Decoupled Weight Decay Regularization (AdamW), Random Erasing (RE), and weighted loss functions, are adopted to solve issues of data unbalancing or challenging conditions like partial and occluded bodies. Experimental evaluations are performed via EPAR that contains 26 993 images of 1477 person IDs, most of which are in challenging conditions. The results show that the ConvNeXt-v2-B outperforms other networks; mean accuracy (mA) reaches 85.57%, and other indices are also the highest. The addition of AdamW or RE can improve accuracy by 1-2%. The use of new loss functions can solve the issue of data unbalancing, in which the accuracy of data-less attributes improves by a maximum of 14% in the best case. Significantly, when the attribute filtering algorithm is applied, the results are dramatically improved, and mA reaches an excellent value of 94.85%. Utilizing the state-of-the-art attribute extraction model with optimization techniques on the large-scale and diverse dataset and attribute filtering has shown a good approach and thus has a high potential for practical applications.

Artificial neural networks are essential intelligent tools for various learning tasks. Training them is challenging due to the nature of the data set, many training weights, and their dependency, which gives rise to a complicated high-dimensional error function for minimization. Thus, global optimization methods have become an alternative approach. Many variants of differential evolution (DE) have been applied as training methods to approximate the weights of a neural network. However, empirical studies show that they suffer from generally fixed weight bounds. In this research, we propose an enhanced differential evolution algorithm with adaptive weight bound adjustment (DEAW) for the efficient training of neural networks. The DEAW algorithm uses small initial weight bounds and adaptive adjustment in the mutation process. It gradually extends the bounds when a component of a mutant vector reaches its limits. We also experiment with using several scales of an activation function with the DEAW algorithm. Then, we apply the proposed method with its suitable setting to solve function approximation problems. DEAW can achieve satisfactory results compared to exact solutions.
Sztuczne sieci neuronowe są niezbędnymi inteligentnymi narzędziami do realizacji różnych zadań uczenia się. Ich szkolenie stanowi wyzwanie ze względu na charakter zbioru danych, wiele wag treningowych i ich zależności, co powoduje powstanie skomplikowanej, wielowymiarowej funkcji błędu do minimalizacji. Dlatego alternatywnym podejściem stały się metody optymalizacji globalnej. Wiele wariantów ewolucji różnicowej (DE) zostało zastosowanych jako metody treningowe do aproksymacji wag sieci neuronowej. Jednak badania empiryczne pokazują, że cierpią one z powodu ogólnie ustalonych granic wag. W tym badaniu proponujemy ulepszony algorytm ewolucji różnicowej z adaptacyjnym dopasowaniem granic wag (DEAW) dla efektywnego szkolenia sieci neuronowych. Algorytm DEAW wykorzystuje małe początkowe granice wag i adaptacyjne dostosowanie w procesie mutacji. Stopniowo rozszerza on granice, gdy składowa wektora mutacji osiąga swoje granice. Eksperymentujemy również z wykorzystaniem kilku skal funkcji aktywacji z algorytmem DEAW. Następnie, stosujemy proponowaną metodę z jej odpowiednim ustawieniem do rozwiązywania problemów aproksymacji funkcji. DEAW może osiągnąć zadowalające rezultaty w porównaniu z rozwiązaniami dokładnymi.

Due to their properties, humic acids (HA) can interact with macro- and micronutrients and retain plant nutrients in the soil profile. The aim of the presented work was to develop a new integrated 4-step process for the isolation of humic acids from peat with their simultaneous enrichment in macronutrients. The study demonstrated the possibility of replacing traditional solutions used in the extraction of humic acids with solutions that are a source of macronutrients. For the alkaline extraction step, a process assisted with ultrasound was implemented, which allowed to increase the efficiency of humic acids isolation. Optimization of this step has shown that, with the application of ultrasound in the new procedure, it is possible to obtain the humic acids isolation efficiency of more than 60%. The qualitative analysis of the products obtained confirmed the presence of structures characteristic of humic acids, including key functional groups.

After the rapid increase in the population demography and industrial revolution, many researchers focus on maintaining the balance between the consumption and the production; in this regard, decentralized production plays an important role to achieve this balance, because of its technical economic aspect such as power losses reduction and voltage profile improvement. These advantages can better exploited through the optimal assessment of Distributed Generation (DG). This paper is interested in the study of the optimal location and size of one and multiple DG based on photovoltaic solar sources PV-DG in Radial Distribution Network (RDN) using the Time Varying Acceleration Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm (TVA-PSO). This algorithm implemented to maximize the Multi-Objective Functions (MOF) based on the Environmental Pollution Reduction Level (EPRL), the Voltage Deviation Level (VDL), Active Power Loss Level (APLL), the Net Saving Level (NSL), and finally the Short Circuit Level (SCL). The proposed method is tested on the standard IEEE 33-, 69-and 118-bus RDN. Outcomes proves that the proposed TVA-PSO is more efficient to solve the optimal allocation of multiple DGs with high convergence rate and minimum power loss reduction.

The expansion of low-cost airlines over the last few decades has significantly influenced the requirements and directions of development of aviation infrastructure, opening up development opportunities for many regional and former military airports. In the second phase of development, low-cost airlines increased their presence at major airports. The low-cost model is evolving, just like the models of traditional and charter airlines. These changes are followed by the development and changes in the airport infrastructure. The model infrastructure adapted to serve low-cost airlines is geared towards reducing the cost for the airlines and shortening the turnaround time of aircrafts – it is therefore smaller and simpler, devoid of certain elements, e.g., jet bridges. Similarly, the time and comfort of travel from the airport to the centre of the metropolitan area are not as important as in the case of airports serving traditional airlines. Meeting the requirements of low-cost airlines is influencing changes in the design of airport systems serving metropolitan areas. Various models of aviation market development are implemented around the world – they depend on the size and specificity of the market and, above all, on the social and environmental conditions related to new infrastructure projects. In many areas of the world, in response to the low-cost market boom, duoport systems have been developed in which one of the airports is focused on servicing traditional traffic, and the other on servicing low-cost airlines. Several such projects are being implemented at the same time. Based on these experiences, it is possible to construct an optimal model of a duoport that would enable the development of the aviation market, including both the development of the hub of the local flag carrier and the development of the low-cost segment. This model assumes the specialisation of both airports, cooperation between them, an appropriately attractive location of the secondary airport (serving low-cost airlines) as well as the flexibility of the system (enabling the adaptation of its elements to changing market conditions). The layout of the Warsaw duoport consisting of Warsaw Chopin Airport and Warsaw Modlin Airport must be defined as far from optimal. This is mainly due to the lack of long-term support of the Polish state for this model and the resulting lack of cooperation between the two airports. However, there are objective reasons why the Warsaw duoport may become effective. Both airports have the ability to increase their capacity. Their location in relation to the serviced metropolitan area is optimal. Therefore, this model may be an attractive and worth detailed analysis alternative to the project of the construction of a new central airport within the framework of the CPK project (Centralny Port Komunikacyjny – Solidarity Transport Hub).
Ekspansja linii niskokosztowych w ostatnich kilku dekadach znacząco wpłynęła na wymogi i kierunki rozwoju infrastruktury lotniczej, otwierając szanse rozwoju dla wielu lotnisk regionalnych i byłych lotnisk wojskowych. W drugiej fazie rozwoju linie niskokosztowe zwiększyły swoją obecność w głównych lotniskach. Model działania tanich linii ewoluuje, podobnie jak modele linii tradycyjnych i czarterowych. Za tymi zmianami podąża rozwój i zmiany w infrastrukturze lotniskowej. Modelowa infrastruktura przystosowana do obsługi linii niskokosztowych jest nakierowana na zmniejszenie kosztu i obsługi linii lotniczych oraz przyspieszenie czasu obsługi samolotów – jest zatem mniejsza i prostsza, pozbawiona niektórych elementów, np. rękawów w terminalach. Podobnie czas i komfort dojazdu do centrum aglomeracji nie jest tak istotny, jak w przypadku lotnisk obsługujących tradycyjne linie. Spełnienie wymogów tanich linii wpływa na zmiany w kształtowaniu systemów lotniskowych obsługujących metropolie. Na świecie realizowane są różne modele rozwoju rynku lotniczego – zależy to od wielkości i specyfiki rynku, a przede wszystkim od uwarunkowań społecznych i środowiskowych związanych z nowymi inwestycjami lotniczymi. W kilku miejscach na świecie, w odpowiedzi na rozwój segmentu low cost, ukształtowały się systemy typu duoport, w których jedno z lotnisk skoncentrowane jest na obsłudze ruchu tradycyjnego, a drugie na obsłudze linii niskokosztowych. Jednocześnie kilka takich projektów jest realizowanych. Na podstawie tych doświadczeń można skonstruować optymalny model duoportu, który umożliwiałby rozwój rynku lotniczego, w tym zarówno rozwój hubu miejscowego przewoźnika flagowego, jak i rozwój segmentu niskokosztowego. Model ten zakłada specjalizację obu lotnisk, współpracę między nimi, odpowiednio atrakcyjne położenie lotniska drugorzędnego (obsługującego linie niskokosztowe), a także elastyczność systemu umożliwiającą adaptację poszczególnych jego elementów do zmieniających się warunków rynkowych. Układ warszawskiego duoportu składającego się z Lotniska Chopina i Lotniska Modlin trzeba określić jako daleki od optymalnego. Zdecydował o tym przede wszystkim brak długofalowego wsparcia polskiego państwa dla tego modelu i będący tego rezultatem brak współpracy między dwoma lotniskami. Jednak istnieją obiektywne przesłanki, dzięki którym warszawski duoport może stać się efektywny – oba lotniska mają możliwość zwiększenia przepustowości i ich położenie wobec obsługiwanej aglomeracji jest optymalne. Model ten może być więc atrakcyjną i wartą szczegółowych analiz alternatywą wobec projektu budowy nowego centralnego lotniska w ramach realizowanego obecnie projektu CPK.

Opis:
Wireless sensor network (WSN) plays a crucial role in many industrial, commercial, and social applications. However, increasing the number of nodes in a WSN increases network complexity, making it harder to acquire all relevant data in a timely way. By assuming the end node as a base station, we devised an Artificial Ant Routing (AAR) method that overcomes such network difficulties and finds an ideal routing that gives an easy way to reach the destination node in our situation. The goal of our research is to establish WSN parameters that are based on the biologically inspired Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) method. The proposed AAR provides the alternating path in case of congestion and high traffic requirement. In the event of node failures in a wireless network, the same algorithm enhances the efficiency of the routing path and acts as a multipath data transmission approach. We simulated network factors including Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR), Throughput, and Energy Consumption to achieve this. The major objective is to extend the network lifespan while data is being transferred by avoiding crowded areas and conserving energy by using a small number of nodes. The result shows that AAR is having improved performance parameters as compared to LEACH, LEACH-C, and FCM-DS-ACO.
