    Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczno-analityczny, pedagogikę rodziny przedstawiono w nim jako jedną z subdyscyplin pedagogiki. Przedmiot badań pedagogiki rodziny, tj. rodzinę określono wieloaspektowo i wielowymiarowo, zwłaszcza jako środowisko wychowawcze, które realizuje wobec dzieci funkcje/zadania wychowawcze. Jako aktualne problemy pedagogiki rodziny wyróżniono: przemiany współczesnej rodziny, funkcję wychowawczą rodziny i jej uwarunkowania, zagrożenia wychowania dziecka w rodzinie. Do nowych obszarów badawczych tej subdyscypliny zaliczono takie kategorie jak rodzicielstwo i dzieciństwo. Pozwalają one w innym aspekcie spojrzeć na rodzinę, pełnione przez nią funkcje wychowawcze - w ujęciu teoretycznym oraz empirycznym, metodologicznym.
    The article, based on theoretical and analytical research, discusses family pedagogy as one of pedagogical sub-disciplines. Family, the main research subject of family pedagogy, has been presented in many aspects and contexts, particularly as an educational environment that performs educational tasks and functions. Current issues of family pedagogy considered in the article include: transformation processes of modern family, educational function of the family and its conditions as well as threats to child raising. New research areas of family pedagogy comprise such categories as parenthood and childhood. They allow us to analyse the family and its functions from different perspective – in theoretical, empirical and methodological contexts.

    Niniejsze opracowanie poświęcone jest naturalnemu środowisku wychowawczemu, jakim jest rodzina. Przedmiotem badań uczyniono jej funkcję edukacyjną, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem charakterystyki jej uwarunkowań, przejawów i sposobów realizacji. Podjęto się charakterystyki specyfiki modelu rodziny polskiej w XIX wieku, dokonujących się w nim przemian i warunkujących je czynników. Można stwierdzić, iż upowszechniany w XIX stuleciu model rodziny jako środowiska wychowawczego był na tyle uniwersalny, a nawet atrakcyjny, że mógł być i bywał przyjmowany przez rodziny z różnych warstw społecznych. Sądzono, że każda rodzina bez względu na jej status społeczny jest pierwszym i najważniejszym środowiskiem wychowawczym. Każda rodzina bowiem, bez względu na jej miejsce w stratyfikacji społecznej, pełniła znaczącą funkcję edukacyjną i kształtowała osobowość dzieci całokształtem organizacji i treści swego życia. Funkcja edukacyjna rodziny przejawiała się w wyznawanym i wpajanym młodemu pokoleniu systemie wartości, atmosferze domu, występujących w rodzinie wzorach zachowań, układzie stosunków i relacji w niej panujących, podziale ról rodzinnych, czynnościach wykonywanych przez poszczególnych jej członków – domowników. Opisany model rodziny i realizacja funkcji edukacyjnej na jej gruncie podlegały zmianom wraz z przemianami cywilizacyjnymi i społeczno-ekonomicznymi, które dokonywały się już od pierwszych dekad XX wieku.
    In the history of Poland the family has determined for centuries not only the vitality of family traditions, but also the shaping of the face of the nation, its mentality, and scale of openness. Especially in the 19th and the early 20th century, the “institution” of the family home played a unique role. This was due, inter alia, to the political situation experienced by the Polish nation under the partitions. The family model popularized in the 19th century was so versatile, and even attractive, that it could be, and was, frequently adopted by families from different social classes. The majority of 19th-century educators and journalists did not particularly distinguish between the educational functions to be met by families belonging to various social classes. It was believed that every family, regardless of its social status, was the first and most important educational environment. For it was the family, regardless of its place in the social stratification, that performed an important educational function, and shaped the personality of children through the entirety of its organization, and the content of its life. The educational function of the family manifested itself in the system of values, home atmosphere, patterns of behaviour occurring in the family, the system of relations and relationships prevailing in it, the division of family roles, and the activities performed by each of its members-the household, professed by and instilled in the younger generation. It was in the family, from the parents, grandparents, and its other members that children learnt the Polish language, respect for local traditions, the principles of the Catholic faith, piety, and patriotism. A special role in the implementation of educational functions, regardless of social class, was attributed to the mother as the patron of hearth and home, the first teacher of the mother tongue and the principles of the faith. Education in the family was to supplement or replace education in the state schools of the partition powers. The described model of the family was subject to alterations along with the civilizational and socio-economic changes that were taking place already during the early decades of the 20th century.

Analizowane dane pokazują obraz zmian poglądów badanych, pokazują zmiany w systemie wartościowania i ujawniają motywacje badanych.     The aim of the article is to analyze and interpret the data obtained through surveys on the educational function of the family. In the changing sociocultural reality, in the perspective of political decisions in the state, the family, as the basic socializing agency of the individual, changes to fulfill its functions. The analyzed data show a picture of changes in the respondents’ worldviews, show changes in the system of evaluation and reveal the subjects’ motivations. The theoretical framework of the paper is Krzysztof J. Brozi’s theory of worldview and the cultural standard theory.

    Every man has a specific personality determined by various factors, including genetic predispositions, environment, education and individual activity. It is because of these elements that one has certain goals to achieve in life and that one performs social roles in a specific way. The importance of the family that one is born to, the creators of the processes of education and socialisation, i.e. parents, teachers, pedagogues, guardians, the environment one spends time in, the schools one attends, the peer groups on identifies with, one's role models is not to be underestimated. Taking into account the multitude of factors determining the education of a child in a numerous family the environmental determinants (including age, education, professional activity of parents or the lack thereof, residence of the numerous family, financial situation, number of children) in this system of multiple categories constituting the elements characterising the form of contemporary family of three or more children should be emphasized.

    Opis:
    A family is a social group which is to carry out an important task in human community. Those tasks are various functions which are meant to well and safely bring up a mature person. However, the educational function has a special significance as in this way a young man is introduced into the world of culture, he creates his first world image, its order, attitude to himself, his life and responsibilities. Every family has their own traditions, customs, habits and atmosphere which form a new social unit. The atmosphere in a family environment has key significance for the formation of child’s personality. It shapes child’s emotional life, his attitudes and motivations. Socialization process takes place in a family and it is related to the phenomenon of inheriting values. The family stores and conveys basic values to next generations. In family culture the moral values which are represented by parents are particularly important; they are the norm code which defines what is allowed and what is prohibited, what is good and what is evil. In this process a natural role of adults includes: communicating clear and understandable criteria, reactions and actions which are consistent with declared values, patient explanations, discussing reasons and gradual leaving more and more space for child’s own attempts to make his own assessment.

    Wprowadzenie. Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczno-empiryczny. Poruszono w nim kwestie związane z realizacją funkcji opiekuńczo-wychowawczej w wiejskich rodzinach wielodzietnych w czasie pandemii COVID-19. W oparciu o literaturę przedmiotu oraz dokumenty prawne scharakteryzowano rodzinę, rodzinę wielodzietną, oraz przedstawiono funkcje rodziny. Zaprezentowano również wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w 2021 roku wśród rodziców z wiejskich rodzin wielodzietnych. Cel. Celem badań było ustalenie opinii rodziców z wiejskich rodzin wielodzietnych na temat problemów w zakresie realizacji funkcji opiekuńczo-wychowawczej w czasie pandemii COVID-19. Metody. W badaniach wykorzystano metodę sondażu diagnostycznego, technikę wywiadu według dyspozycji do rozmowy. Wyniki. Z przeprowadzonej analizy wynika, że w trakcie stanu epidemicznego diagnozowane rodziny borykały się z problemami: fi nansowymi, organizacyjnymi, edukacyjnymi, wychowawczymi, zdrowotnymi, komunikacyjnymi. Wnioski. Należy: a) zgłosić (zarówno w szkołach, poradniach, jak i innych lokalnych instytucjach pomocowych) potrzebę zorganizowania wsparcia psychologicznego, zdrowotnego, edukacyjnego dla dzieci i/lub pozostałych członków wiejskich rodzin wielodzietnych – jednak ważne jest, aby wszelkie formy pomocy usytuowane były w pobliżu miejsca ich zamieszkania; b) apelować do odpowiednich organów (władz i decydentów) o przywrócenie niezbędnych połączeń komunikacyjnych, które bez wątpienia ułatwią mieszkańcom w miarę normalne funkcjonowanie w tych trudnych czasach.
    Introduction. The article is theoretical and empirical in nature. It raises issues relating to the execution of care-providing and educational functioning in rural multi-child families during the COVID-19 pandemic. On the basis of source literature and legal documents, the family and the multi-child family are characterized, and the functions of the family are presented. The results of a research are demonstrated as conducted in 2021 among parents of rural multi-child families. Aim. The purpose of the research was to establish opinions of the parents of rural multi-child families on issues regarding the execution of care-providing and educational functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods. The diagnostic poll method and the semi-structured interview technique were used in the research. Results. Analysis shows that during the epidemic state the families being diagnosed have struggled with the following problems: fi nancial, organizational, educational, care-providing, health-related, and communicative. Conclusions. The following should be done: 1) report (in schools, family counselling centres as well as other aid agencies) the need to provide for psychological, health, educational support for children and/or the other members of rural multi-child families – it is important, however, that all forms of the aid be located in the vicinity of their places of residence; 2) appeal to competent bodies/authorities for reopening indispensable connections which will undoubtedly facilitate the inhabitants to lead relatively normal lives in this diffi cult, non-obvious time.
