Hospice volunteering is s special kind of voluntary service. According to research, an average age of hospice volunteers is higher that an average age of volunteers in other types of voluntary services (Przewłocka, 2011; Seredyńska, 2018). However, it does not mean that there are no young persons in hospices, especially when one remembers that contact with the sick and dying allows people to realize the most important things in life and to gain a more realistic view of their limitations. So, it can be said that the environment of hospice voluntary service offers valuable upbringing and educational opportunities. The paper is based on the analysis of subject literature and address several upbringing and educational aspects connected with the environment of hospice voluntary service. These aspects include the analysis of hospice volunteering which educates for accepting: the central position of God in human life, death as an integral part of life, weaknesses and limitations in the maturing process, and the attitude of ‘imagination of mercy’ towards the sick and dying. Other educational and upbringing environments do not confront a person with these aspects of life to such an extent.

The paper aims to analyse a wide spectrum of issues related to infographics: how to design them so that they can effectively visualise information, data and knowledge, how to upload them to an LCMS for pedagogic gain, how to use them to engage students in learning and make them active and creative participants. It also emphasises their important role in innovative education, particularly in modern academic education, which should support every student to develop both hard and soft skills and empower them to succeed in the changing work context. The authors view the use of infographics as a step forward in making online learning an interactive, stimulating and rewarding experience.

The intellectual atmosphere of teachers’ education, who get it at the centuriesold institution – university, has been presented in the article. The architecture of university encourages getting higher education, but it must undergo transformations depending on the needs and expectations of the external reality. Selected nuances of the mutual relations between university, its organization, urban shape and the teachers’ education taking place there, which together form a unique environment, have been shown in the text. This environment, however, requires specific modernization, which the author has attempted to highlight selectively. The whole of the considerations have been summed up.
W artykule przedstawiono intelektualny klimat obejmujący edukację nauczyciela, który jest kształcony w wielowiekowej wszechnicy wiedzy – uniwersytecie. Architektura uczelni sprzyja zdobywaniu wyższego wykształcenia, ale musi ulec przekształceniom w zależności od potrzeb i oczekiwań zewnętrznej rzeczywistości. W tekście pokazano wybrane niuanse wzajemnych relacji pomiędzy uczelnią, jej organizacją, kształtem urbanistycznym a odbywającą się tam edukacją nauczyciela, które razem tworzą niepowtarzalne środowisko. Środowisko to wymaga jednak konkretnych modernizacji, które starano się wybiórczo naświetlić. Całość rozważań podsumowano.

The study presents the problem of using single board computers in education on the example of Raspberry Pi. The Raspbian operating system – which is installed in Raspberry Pi, has all the necessary tools which create an educational environment for programming in such languages as Python, Scratch and C. It has been also pointed out, that using teaching methods based on Rasp-berry Pi in technical subject and Computer Science, has many pedagogical values.

W ramach systemu całkowitej opieki nad dzieckiem pozbawionym prawidłowo funkcjonującej rodziny naturalnej możemy wyróżnić zarówno rodzinne jak i instytucjonalne formy opieki zastępczej. Umieszczenie dziecka w środowisku zastępczym jest alternatywą w sytuacji, kiedy nie ma szans na zapewnienie mu właściwej opieki w jego rodzinie naturalnej. Rodzina zastępcza w procesie wychowania dziecka odgrywa ważną role, wypełniając jednocześnie wiele zadań i funkcji. Zgodnie z obowiązującymi przepisami prawa obowiązki rodziny zastępczej spokrewnionej z dzieckiem przejmują najbliższe osoby z jego rodziny- dziadkowie lub rodzeństwo. Jaka jest specyfika rodziny zastępczej spokrewnionej i jakich najczęściej doświadcza problemów − to podstawowe zagadnienia dotyczące funkcjonowania rodzin zastępczych spokrewnionych w procesie wychowania dziecka stanowiące treść przygotowanego opracowania.
As part of the overall care system of a child deprived of natural family functioning properly, we can distinguish both family and institutional forms of foster care. Placement of a child in a foster environment is an alternative in a situation where there is no possibility to provide the child a proper care of the biological family. The foster family plays an essential role in the child's upbringing during completion of numerous tasks and functions. In accordance with existing legal regulations, responsibilities of the foster family related to the child are taken over by the closest members of the child's family - grandparents or siblings. What is a character of the relative foster family and what problems they most frequently experience in the upbringing process of the child − these are the basic issues described in the prepared paper.

The aim of the research wasthe relationship between cognitive assessment of the conflict situation, emotional reflection of the situation and examining the coping strategies of parents in the conflict situation and the presence of aggressive coping strategies of adolescents in social conflict situations. In the research the author took advantage of the Stress Appraisal Questionnaire (KOS) D. Włodarczyk, K. Wrześniewski, the Three-Factor Inventory of Personality States and Traits (TISCO) by C. Spielberger, K. Wrześniewski, the author's questionnaire for examining the parental strategy as perceived by a child (SRwSK) and the author’s questionnaire testing the adolescent coping strategies in a social conflict situation (KSMK). Empirical studies were carried out in junior high schools in Wroclaw and the surrounding area. They involved 893 adolescents (468 girls and 425 boys) aged 13–15. Analysis of the research results has proven that assessing a situation as a threat intensifies the aggression strategy of adolescent coping in a social conflict situation. The research shows that adolescents participation in a situation when realization of their own aspirations are in danger intensifies negative emotions. Aggression is a form of coping with anger and anxiety felt in a social conflict situation. It was found that parents who apply a strategy based on aggression contribute to the modelling of aggressive strategies used by young people. It should be noted that sex plays an important role in the modelling. Impacts made by a parent of the opposite sex which favours the strategy of aggression developed by adolescent young people was also noted.

The family is one of the important areas of research in the sciences of theology. Researchers consider various aspects of life in the family. They pay attention to the family as the primary educational environment. Increasingly, these issues are taken by catecheticsteachers. Analyses undertaken in this study are intended to show the family as an educational environment in terms of Polish catechetics teachers. undertaken analyses do not pretendto fully describe the research in contemporary catechetics. They are more in the nature of a sketch. This paper highlights the key thematic areas of the family as an educational environment. First the terms „family” and „educational environment” were clarified. Then the issues were described in detail. Much attention was paid to the issues related to the integral recognition of education in the family and with those responsible for education. Efforts were made at the same time see the similarities and differences in opinions of Polish catechetics teachers. The relationship between socialization and upbringing in the family, how to implement educational functions and co-operation with other family educational environments (eg. school, church) were considered significant. In this context there were given offers of further study. These included, among others, the need for dialogue of catechetics teachers with representatives of the social sciences. This will not only allow to develop a sound theory but also to conduct quantitative and qualitative research. The acquired data will enrich the catechetical study area and may contribute to the improvement of family catechesis and pastoral care.

There being a contradiction between the didactic systems of comprehensive school and university, university teachers have to find solution to the problem of first-year students’ didactic adaptation. The wide use of ICT in doing every university course calls for adequate teaching methods and didactic conditions for students’ efficient progress in their first year of study at university. The article provides the condition of first-year students’ didactic adaptation within the educational environment enriched with ICT on the basis of the pilot research carried out at Vinnytsia Educational and Scientific Institute of Economics of Ternopil National Economic University. Although the results of the pilot research show students’ weaknesses of use of ICT, they prove the positive impact of the educational environment enriched with ICT on first-year students’ didactic adaptation, since it increases their didactic motivation and in many ways facilitates educational activities.

Aim. The main purpose of research presented in this article is to analyse mediation principles as an alternative way of dispute resolution and features of their application in the educational environment of Ukraine. For which purpose it was necessary to perform the following tasks: - the concept and role of mediation principles were studied; - certain types of mediation principles were defined; - the essence and significance of the most important mediation principles were revealed; - and the application of mediation principles in Ukraine was clarified. In Ukraine, civil society institutions have been trying on their own to introduce and promote mediation as a way of alternative dispute resolution. However, systemic problems of access to justice require finding other ways to resolve conflict situations. Mediation becomes especially relevant in the context of COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, when access to the court system is limited. Methods. The study is based on the analysis of enacted regulations and their comparison in different countries, as well as information obtained from the study of literature, including works by authors of both legal and other social sciences where mediation is used as a means of compromise, including psychology, medicine, ecology, along with the use of tools and comments specific to the study of law. To study the prospects and effective application of mediation principles in the educational environment, sociological surveys of various participants of the educational process were conducted. Results. The results of study showed that certain types of mediation principles are applied in different countries taking into account the peculiarities of national legal systems. Notwithstanding, such principles as the rule of law, the principle of equality (equal rights) of the parties, the principle of voluntariness, confidentiality and mediator behaviour (independence and impartiality, trust and justice) are applied in most of the studied national models of mediation, consequently they can be called fundamental. The survey results have revealed the readiness of the educational environment to introduce mediation as a tool for resolving conflicts in the educational environment.  In Ukraine, the draft law “On Mediation” defines general principles of mediation; however, the problem is insufficiently clear criteria for disputes that cannot be transferred to mediation. In addition, the principle of the rule of law should be defined as one of the fundamental principles of mediation. Conclusions. The specifics of the implementation of mediation principles in Ukraine and their correlation with the principles of the judicial process require further research.

The aim of the article is to show the tetrad of educational environments, according to Janusz Morbitzer (Morbitzer, 2014, s. 120), which influence young people who exist dichotomously in the real and virtual world. Living „between” the real and digitized world, the global teenager tries to mark his activity and decision-making. On the one hand, he wants to leave his personalized trace in the offline space and on the other hand, he wants to join a uniform digital online community. The growing so-called „axiological shift” towards the domination of material values, social and civilizational entropy contribute to the fact that educational processes are becoming more and more difficult, sometimes even impossible to implement. Lack of understanding of a specific axiological concept prevents its introception, and therefore practical respect and living in accordance with a given axiological category.
Celem artykułu jest ukazanie tetrady (Kłos, 2013, s. 105) środowisk wychowawczych według Janusza Morbitzera (2014, s. 120), które oddziałują na młodzież dychotomicznie egzystującą w świecie realnym i wirtualnym. Żyjąc „pomiędzy” światem rzeczywistym a zdygitalizowanym, globalny nastolatek stara się zaznaczać swoją aktywność i decyzyjność. Z jednej strony pragnie zostawić swój spersonalizowany ślad w przestrzeni offline a drugiej strony dołączyć do zuniformizowanej cyfrowej społeczności online. Narastające, tak zwane „przesunięcie aksjologiczne”, w stronę dominacji wartości materialnych, entropia społeczna i cywilizacyjna przyczynia się do tego, że procesy wychowawcze są coraz trudniejsze, niekiedy wręcz niemożliwe do zrealizowania. Brak zrozumienia konkretnego pojęcia aksjologicznego uniemożliwia jego introcepcję, a więc praktyczne respektowanie i życie zgodne z daną kategorią aksjologiczną.

Family plays here an important role, since from the earliest years of a child's life, it has a chance to create positive experiences resulting from a contact with the book. Such situations can arise in a family in which parents find reading enjoyable and pass it on spontaneously to their children.

Artykuł przedstawia wielowymiarowy model kontinuum środowiska edukacyjnego nauczycieli w ponowoczesnym świecie, implikowany gwałtownym rozwojem ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Zaprojektowana koncepcja jest efektem analizy literatury uzupełnionej wynikami badań empirycznych − diagnostyczno-korelacyjnych, o charakterze ilościowo-jakościowym, ustalających kompetencje informacyjne 1160 nauczycieli w zakresie wykorzystywania metod i narzędzi ICT. Wyznaczono wartości brzegowe tego modelu (pojęcia-konstrukty „chmura” i „silos”) oraz ich desygnaty dla sześciu warstw obejmujących: technologię, społeczeństwo, ekonomię, wiedzę, kulturę, filozofię (epistemologię, aksjologię). Podjęto próbę dookreślenia środowiska edukacyjnego działalności nauczycieli w dobie technologicznych i cywilizacyjnych przemian.
The article presents a multi-dimensional model of the continuum of teacher’s activity in the educational environment in the postmodern world implied by the rapid development of ICT (Information and Communication Technology). The designed concept is the result of the analysis of the literature supplemented with the results of the empirical diagnostic/correlative research of a quantitative and qualitative character, specifying information competences of 1160 teachers in the use of ICT methods and tools. The boundary values of the model (the concept-constructs “cloud” and “silo”) were determined as well as their referents to six layers including: technology, society, economy, knowledge, culture, philosophy (epistemology, axiology). An attempt was also made to better specify the teachers’ activity in the educational environment in athe era of technological and cultural change.

Nuisance for the people living in areas covered by the direct or indirect impact of the mining industry is an important social problem. The development of the mining industry depends on high environmental requirements, in particular, it is closely related to the fulfillment of obligations of safety for human health and life. Through consultation with the local society and targeted actions degraded land can become attractive. In contrast, the lack of reclamation leads to the intensification of negative phenomena: erosion, surface mass movements, changes in the ecosystem, eutrophication of water tanks. Maintaining balance in the natural environment is the basic criterion for the proper functioning of industrial facilities. Mining activity is a threat to the environment, including human health and life. Use of the environment by mining is subject to adjustment to the legislation and carrying out mining activities in line with environmental requirements. Mining activities and nature protection can operate in a sustainable manner. Appropriate selection of methods for mineral exploitation allows you to minimize the impact on the environment components. The positive impact of opencast mining is reflected in the creation of new habitats of plants and animals in post-mining areas, in the creation of new recreation places, in diversifying the landscape thanks to the construction of water reservoirs. Lakes formed after use of natural aggregates overgrown vegetation reed, acting as a convenient place to settle th e water birds.

The study is related to the pedagogical experiment on the systemic controlled impact on the formation of educational environment in higher educational institutions. The article aims to verify the effectiveness of introducing the pedagogical system of educational environment formation in higher educational institutions on the example of an aviation educational institution. Evaluation of the effectiveness of the pedagogical system of educational environment formation is based on the monitoring analysis. Diagnostic techniques of the expert examination have been described. The statistical insignificance of discrepancies between the data of control and experimental samples has been proved. Significant changes in the educational environment formation levels in the control and experimental groups have been confirmed.

Higher education allows people with disabilities to build self-realization and self-esteem. It prevents social exclusion, redeems deficiencies and increases the chances to find a job. For over 10 years the number of students with disabilities has been increasing in Poland. Students with visual impairment (blind and partially sighted) are included in this group. One of the barriers they face in the academic environment is difficulty of reaching the accessible form of educational materials. Rapidly developing assistive technologies allow them to overcome this barrier. Collections of digital documents addressed to students with visual impairment are helpful in this context. The aim of the article is to give a description of Polish digital libraries addressed to visually impaired students and their role in higher education. To collect necessary data websites of all (96) Polish public higher schools subordinated to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education were analysed. Important information the author acquired also came from individuals involved in building digital resources targeted at students with visual impairment. The methods of literature analysis and criticism were also used. Study has shown that only a few public higher schools participate in projects on establishing digital collections accessible for students with disabilities. These collections are getting richer every year.

The first educational environment of every human being is usually the family. This is where the lifelong process of shaping attitudes and acquiring the desired character traits begins. Just as social attitudes are shaped and strengthened on the basis of values derived from the family environment, the ethos of service is built, which develops and strengthens pro-defence attitudes. Nowadays, such attitudes are less and less often seen among young people due to the crisis of values in developed countries and the promotion of a consumerist lifestyle. Ensuring security in the 21st century depends not only on the military or the intellectual potential of citizens, but above all on the extremely important human factor, most often expressed by patriotic pro-defence attitudes allowing for heroic efforts, especially in the event of a real threat. The aim of this article is therefore to show the extremely important role of the family environment in shaping and strengthening pro-defence attitudes among the society of the 21st century. The research was carried out using theoretical methods, such as analysis, synthesis, generalisation, and inference, and using the technique of examining documents and source materials. Particular attention was paid, inter alia, to the need to build pro-defence attitudes among young people and to the educational functions of the family environment constituting the basis for the process of shaping pro-defence attitudes.

The aim of the article, based on a qualitative study, is to identify and interpret the meanings parents assign to messages conveyed by school personnel about the behavior of students with moderate and severe intellectual disabilities coupled with autism. The main research objective is to present the mechanism of impairment of the identity of pupils in special education, known as psychiatricization. The phenomenon of psychiatricization occurs in situations where school staff abuse and misinterpret the behaviour of people with intellectual disabilities, looking for mental illness in the behaviours they present. One of the reasons for this phenomenon is the misunderstood, behavioural-coded communication of pupils perceived as mentally ill by teachers who are convinced they should be diagnosed and treated with appropriate psychotropic drugs in order to subdue and quieten the awkward pupil. A consequence of the activities and discourse of school staff, i.e. psychiatricization, including stigmatization, harm, abuse of power-knowledge, is falsifying the identity of students, depriving them of opportunities and opportunities for optimal development and satisfying their special educational needs. The presented qualitative research is located in the constructivistinterpretative paradigm, and the mainstream of the scientific narrative is the critical theory.
Celem artykułu, opracowanego w oparciu o badanie jakościowe, jest rozpoznanie i zinterpretowanie znaczeń nadawanych przez rodziców komunikatom przekazywanych przez personel szkoły na temat zachowań uczniów z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w stopniu umiarkowanym i znacznym sprzężoną z autyzmem. Głównym założeniem badawczym jest przedstawienie mechanizmu upośledzania tożsamości uczniów kształcenia specjalnego określanego jako psychiatryzowanie. Zjawisko psychiatryzowania występuje w sytuacjach, kiedy to pracownicy szkoły nadużywają i nadinterpretują zachowania osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną, doszukując się w prezentowanych zachowaniach choroby psychicznej. Jedną z przyczyn tego zjawiska jest niezrozumiała, zakodowana w formach zachowaniowych komunikacja uczniów, którzy postrzegani są przez nauczycieli jako osoby chore psychicznie, które należy zdiagnozować i leczyć odpowiednimi lekami psychotropowymi w celu ujarzmienia i wyciszenia niewygodnego ucznia. Konsekwencją działań i dyskursu personelu szkoły, tj.: psychiatryzowania, w tym piętnowania, krzywdzenia, nadużywania władzy-wiedzy, jest fałszowanie tożsamości uczniów, pozbawianie ich możliwości i szans optymalnego rozwoju i zaspokajania ich specjalnych potrzeb edukacyjnych. Prezentowane badania jakościowe ulokowane są w paradygmacie konstruktywistyczno-interpretatywnym, a głównym nurtem narracji naukowej jest teoria krytyczna.
