    W artykule zwrócono uwagę na potrzebę wczesnego rozpoznawania zaburzeń autystycznych (ASD) u małych dzieci. Wskazano symptomy ASD w zakresie interakcji spo-łecznych, mowy i komunikowania się, zabawy oraz specyficznych zainteresowań i aktywności, które można zaobserwować w początkowych latach życia dziecka. Zwrócono uwagę na częste współwystępowanie zaburzeń integracji sensorycznej. Odwołując się do casy study, zaprezentowano przypadek trzyletniego chłopca diagnozowanego pod kątem ASD i to-warzyszących spektrum trudności w przetwarzaniu bodźców sensorycznych. Po zaprezentowaniu wyników badań zaproponowano działania terapeutyczne niezbędne w pracy z dzieckiem ze zdiagnozowanym ASD, w tym wczesne wspomaganie rozwoju (WWR), kształcenie specjalne (KS) oraz specjalistyczne usługi opiekuńcze (SUO).
    The article highlights the need for early diagnosis of autistic disorder (ASD) in children. The authors have indicated the symptoms of ASD in the field of social interaction, speech and communication, play and specific interests and activities that can be observed in the early years of a child's life. Attention is drawn to the frequent co-occurrence of sensory integration disorders. The research has been carried out by means of a case study of a three-year-old boy diagnosed with ASD and accompanying spectrum of difficulties in processing sensory stimuli. The research results have been presented together with the suggestion of therapeutic activities necessary in working with a child diagnosed with ASD, including early development support (EDS), special education (KS) and specialized care services (SUO).

    W artykule poruszono problem zaburzeń mo¬dulacji sensorycznej u dzieci ze spektrum autyzmu, w tym z zespołem Aspergera. Omówienia problemu dokonano na przykładzie indywidualnego przypadku. W treści przybliżono charakterystyczne zachowania towarzyszące zaburzeniom prze¬twarzania bodźców sensorycznych oraz opisano reakcje, jakie towarzyszą dzieciom, które je przejawiają. Zaproponowano działania pomocowe oraz implikacje dla praktyki.
    The article deals with the problem of sensory modu¬lation disorders in children with autism spectrum, including Asperger's syndrome. The problem was discussed on the ex¬ample of an individual case study. The content of the article describes the characteristic behaviors accompanying sensory processing disorders and the reactions that accompany children who manifest such disorders. Support activities and implica¬tions for practice have been proposed.

    W artykule przedstawiono niezawodny system identyfikacji zużycia ściernicy i parametrów jakości przedmiotu obrabianego w procesie szlifowania kłowego wałków. Opracowano model dynamiczny procesu szlifowania z uwzględnieniem rozwoju falistości na przedmiocie i ściernicy. Model ten posłużył do wstępnego wyznaczenia optymalnego zakresu parametrów szlifowania. Następnie w oparciu o metodę empirycznej dekompozycji sygnału utworzono zbiór cech sygnału drgań i surowego sygnału emisji akustycznej w celu identyfikacji niepożądanych stanów procesu szlifowania. Do wyznaczenia istotności poszczególnych cech sygnałów zastosowano metodę analizy składowych głównych. Przeprowadzono analizę sygnału emisji akustycznej pod kątem diagnozowania stanu czynnej powierzchni ściernicy. Dokonano przeglądu różnych metod w celu wyznaczania reguł decyzyjnych oraz modelowania procesu podejmowania decyzji o stanie procesu szlifowania.
    In the paper a reliable tool wear and part quality identification system for cylindrical plunge grinding process has been presented. A model of process dynamics has been created taking into account waviness development on the workpiece and on grinding wheel. This model was used to predict stable grinding conditions with respect to workpiece chatter development. Next with the use of empirical mode decomposition method a set of features of vibration and acoustic emission signal was created. To estimate the significance of the individual features a principal component analysis was used. Different methods have been analyzed to establish diagnostic decision rules and to model the decision process about the process state.

    The diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome has caused many problems for diagnosticians and therapists since the establishment of this nosological unit. Many concepts of rules and criteria for assessing the functioning of people with AS have been born. The increase in the number of cases of children with Asperger Syndrome indicates the need to create effective ways of making early diagnoses, which can become the basis for building effective therapy programmes. The authors point to the necessity to observe early stages of children’s development and to notice the symptoms of the disorder. This is often possible for children aged under 24 months. After the child reaches the age of two, the symptoms become very evident, especially in the areas of language and communication, social development, cognitive and manual development.

    Introduction: Studies based on the ISAAC questionnaire suggest a correlation between the use of antibiotics and the prevalence of asthma and allergy in children aged 6-7 years. The number of courses of antibiotic therapy is an important factor. Objectives: To investigate the relationship between the use of antibiotics during the fi rst years of life and the prevalence of allergy and asthma among children (aged 6-8 years) in the urban population of Poland. Materials and Methods: A survey-based study with a self-completed questionnaire. The respondents were parents of children aged 6-8 years living in Warszawa, Poland. 1461 completed questionnaires were collected. Results: Asthma was declared in 4.3% of the children. Wheezing and/or sibilant rhonchi within 12 months before the study was observed in 13.5% of the cases. Asthma medication was taken by 21.8% of the children. Allergic rhinitis was declared in 18.7% of the children. Problems with sneezing, rhinorrhea, and nasal congestion not associated with cold or fever were observed in 40.7% of the children. The a nalysis of the odds ratios between the use of antibiotics and the symptoms of allergic diseases revealed a clear correlation. The highest odds ratio was observed between the completion of over three courses of antibiotic therapy prior to the age of 12 months and the declaration of one of the following: asthma (OR = 5.59, 95% CI: 2.6-12.01), wheezing and/or sibilant rhonchi (OR = 4.68, 95% CI: 3.01-7.27) and taking medicines for breathlessness (OR = 5.12, 95% CI: 3.42-7.68). Conclusions: There is a direct relationship between antibiotic use in the fi rst 3 years of life and asthma and allergy symptoms in children aged 6-8 years old.

    The diagnosis of autism within the first two years of a child’s life is burdened by many difficulties. The most significant symptoms for early recognition of ASD are deemed to be emotional and social deficits, disturbances in the development of speech and communication as well as atypical behaviour in the form of limited, repetitive behaviour patterns. In the first as well as the second year of life, the most commonly confirmed early signs of ADS refer to the lack of behaviour indicating the child’s readiness to form social relations and to social communication, including in particular its reactions to its own name, limited eye contact, atypical facial expressions in social situations, the lack of emotional adaptation, limited interest in social impulses and poor vocalisation, as well as limited abilities to imitate, establish a common field of attention and the expression of attachment to the next of kin. Inthe second year of age, the atypical behaviour is manifested more clearly and may, although it must not necessarily, shine through in all areas typical for autism.

    Autism is a disorder that becomes today the subject of many interdisciplinary studies. You can talk about a wide spectrum of autism. It concerns adults, but also children. In the article special attention is paid to autism during preschool and early school age. It should be noted that the term "autism" has enough short history as it appeared in the 40s of the twentieth century. This concept can be understood in three main areas: 1) breaking social ties or limited ability to enter into interpersonal relationships; 2) abnormal communication; 3) stiffness behaviour, restricted repertoire of activities and interests connected with to the lack of imagination. Another element of the article is the presentation of the core symptoms of autism. It is worth noting that autism is reflected by the diversity of its syndromes. It was important to pay special attention to autism. The specificity of childhood autism must be taken into account in the selection of methods situations and psychotherapeutic techniques. The point is that the effectiveness of the therapy does not undermine the fundamental norms and moral principles. One of the basic principles is the trust and respecting professional secrecy. In this context, there is a very important proposal for the therapists and other professionals working with autistic children to constantly work on raising not only professional skills, but also care about raising the moral qualifications.

    The article discusses the prodromal signs of language system acquisition disorders, allowing to start early stimulation of infants. The results of the diagnosis of developmental disorders of a group of infants (n=7) from 2 to 6 months of age are presented to which effective auditory and visual stimulation was applied, are presented. The speech development of two neurotypical children stimulated prenatally by the auditory program applied to the infants is presented. These children received the same stimulation in infancy as the children in the experimental group, in order to test its effectiveness. The dynamic speech development of these children made it possible for them to learn to read early using the simultaneous‑sequential method before starting preschool education. The ability to read had a positive impact on intellectual development.

    Praca jest doniesieniem z badań nad przemocą symboliczną w edukacji wczesnoszkolnej. Odwołując się do trzech aspektow: komunikacji werbalnej i niewerbalnej, oceniania oraz przestrzeni dydaktycznej, stanowi probę analizy i interpretacji zjawiska w realiach ukraińskiego systemu edukacji. Opracowane wyniki badań (ankiet i obserwacji zajęć lekcyjnych) staną się asumptem do pytania o potrzebę zmian w procesie edukacyjnym, będąc dodatkowym źrodłem wiedzy na temat przemocy symbolicznej dla rodzicow, opiekunow (tu rownież: w żłobkach i klubikach dziecięcych), jak i nauczycieli (szkoł i przedszkoli).
    The work is a report from research on symbolic violence in early childhood education. Referring to three aspects: verbal and non-verbal communication, assessment and didactic space, it is an attempt to analyze and interpret the phenomenon in the realities of the Ukrainian education system. The developed research results (questionnaires and observation of classes) will become an answer to the question about the need for changes in the educational process, being an important source of knowledge about symbolic violence for parents, carers (also in nurseries and children's clubs) and teachers (schools and kindergartens).

    Mutyzm wybiórczy (SM) jest rozpoznawany u coraz większej grupy dzieci. Jego istotą jest brak komunikowania się werbalnego, przy jednoczesnym wykluczeniu anatomicznego uszkodzenia narządów mowy. Dla jednostki z mutyzmem rozpoczęcie nauki oraz edukacja w klasie I szkoły podstawowej to duże wyzwanie. Artykuł prezentuje przyczyny i objawy mutyzmu. Przedstawia także przebieg diagnozy oraz metody terapii dzieci obarczonych SM. Konkretne objawy mutyzmu wybiórczego oraz sposób funkcjonowania jednostek na niego cierpiących ukazano w oparciu o przypadki dwojga uczniów klas I-III szkoły podstawowej. Sprecyzowanie wytycznych dla nauczycieli edukacji wczesnoszkolnej, którzy w swojej klasie mogą spotkać ucznia z mutyzmem wybiórczym stanowi istotny element tekstu. Brak wiedzy u wychowawcy na temat dziecięcego milczenia może przyczynić się do nieświadomego pogłębienia zaburzenia u podopiecznego. Właściwa postawa wobec dziecka z mutyzmem, stopniowanie wymagań, stworzenie przyjaznej atmosfery w klasie oraz zadbanie o pozytywne nastawienie rówieśników do mutystycznego kolegi to tylko niektóre z wytycznych, jakie pojawiają się w tekście. Nauczyciel edukacji wczesnoszkolnej jawi się tu także w roli łącznika pomiędzy logopedą a pozostałymi pracownikami szkoły.
    Selective mutism (SM) is diagnosed in an increasing number of children. Its essence is the lack of verbal communication while anatomical damage to the speech organs has been excluded. For an individual with mutism, starting school and being educated in the first grade of primary school is a big challenge. This article presents the causes and symptoms of mutism. It also presents the course of diagnosis and methods of therapy for children with SM. Specific symptoms of selective mutism and functioning of individuals suffering from it are shown on the basis of the cases of two pupils from classes 1-3 of a primary school. Specifying guidelines for early education teachers, who may encounter a student with selective mutism in their class, is an important element of the text. Teachers' lack of knowledge about children's being silent may contribute to an unconscious worsening of the disorder in their pupils. The right attitude towards a child with mutism, grading of demands, creating a friendly atmosphere in the classroom, and ensuring a positive attitude of peers towards the child, are just some of the guidelines that appear in the text. Also, in the article the early education teacher is presented as a link between the speech therapist and other school employees.
