Opis:
A structural method of dimensioning trickling filters is proposed. Reactors applied in sanitary engineering are usually designed on the basis of formally simple technical instructions, but laboratory experiments have shown that the flow through a trickling filter can be described with the plug-flow model. With an additional function describing reaction intensity, the object's parameters can be calculated and its operation simulated for various technical conditions. If variability of the reaction rate is taken into account, numerical integration of the governing equations will be necessary.

The article is devoted to modern tendency and problems in the development of information technologies in the sphere of tourism. The aim of this paper is system analysis and identification of prospective areas of information technology in the field of tourism. The basic trends shaping the prospects for improvement in the information technology tools oriented to full and quality to meet the needs of ordinary tourists are consolidation of information resources in tourism; intellectualization of functions for software and applications, information technology and systems; interface virtualization environment for information systems, oriented to the needs of tourists; mobilization of tourists information technology support in the exercise of his trip; personalization tourist information needs, taking into account its specific individual requests tastes and preferences. All of them are analysed and described in the article. As a result author distinguished the main problems in the sphere of information technologies for tourist domain and main perspective spheres of next researches.

A new model for water treatment and waste disposal reactors was developed. The startpoint to this model is a "triangular" approximation in the shape of the real flow-through curve. This approximation is defined by some characteristic points of time, which are strongly related to the characteristic velocities of wastewater. Combination of this simplified function with the kinetic equation of the reaction of the 1st order yields the sequence of the governing equations. Three practical examples show that the proposed "rational" model gives much better results than the traditional plug-flow model.

The present paper proposes a method for evaluating the dynamic characteristics of a single linear rolling bearing subjected to a radial force and a bending moment. In order to evaluate the damping of a rail-carriage system, a rectangular column with a flange is fixed to the carriage by bolts, and the free end of the column is excited by an impulse hammer in the horizontal (x), lateral (y), and radial (z) directions. The response is detected by an accelerometer mounted to the flange of the column. Both force and acceleration are input to an FFT analyzer, and the frequency response function (FRF) is calculated. The damping capacity in each direction is evaluated as a modal damping ratio, which is calculated based on the FRF. As a result, the damping ratio of the vibration mode in the feed (x) direction is higher than those of the other vibration modes. In addition, the influence of the nonlinearity of the linear rolling bearings on the dynamic characteristics is investigated. The results reveal that the dynamic characteristics of the linear rolling bearings depend on the excitation direction.

The operation of plain circular journal bearing at high speed is restricted by the excessive temperature that is generated in the oil film and by the loss of stability. Low costs of machining, high-transmitted loads are the advantages of these types of bearings. Better knowledge of bearing operation and its stability from the point of hydrodynamic theory of lubrication and theory of vibration can be affected by modifications of bearing design. These modifications should result in the higher speeds of operation, decrease in power losses and better bearing stability. The basis of stability determination is the dynamic characteristics of bearing. For the plain circular journal bearing the dynamic characteristics has been calculated. Stability of high speed, symmetric rotor was determined, too. Different values of bearing length to diameter ratio, and relative clearance were assumed. Reynolds', energy and viscosity equations were solved by means of iterative procedure. Adiabatic oil film, laminar flow in the bearing gap as well as aligned orientation of journal in the bearing was considered.

The paper describes a fuel cell based system and its performance. The system is based on two fuel cell units, DC/DC converter, DC/AC inverter, microprocessor control unit, load unit, bottled hydrogen supply system and a set of measurement instruments. In the study presented in the paper a dynamic response of the proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell system to unit step change load as well as to periodical load changing cycles in the form of semi-sinusoidal and trapezoidal signals was investigated. The load was provided with the aid of an in-house-developed electronic load unit, which was fully PC controlled. The apparatus was commissioned by testing the steady-state operation of the module. The obtained efficiency of the fuel cell shows that the test apparatus used in the study provides data in substantial agreement with the manufacturer’s data.

Thin-walled structures are very popular in industries, especially in the field of shipbuilding. There are many types of equipment and structures of ships, which are made up of thin-walled structures such as hull, deck and superstructure. Therefore, the analysis and understanding of the static and dynamic characteristics of a thin-walled structure are very important. In this article, we focus on vibration analysis of a typical thin-walled structurerectangular plate, a basic structure of the hull. Vibration analysis of a rectangular thin plate is conducted by two methods: numerical modelling method of the finite element on Patran-Nastran software platform and experimental method implemented in the laboratory of Gdynia Maritime University. Thin rectangular plate is fixed one end by four clamping plates and is modelled with finite elements and different meshing densities. The numerical model of thin rectangular plate is divided into four cases. Case 1, thin rectangular plate, and clamping plates are modelled with two-dimensional elements. Case 2, the rectangular thin plate is modelled with two-dimensional elements; the clamping plates are modelled with three-dimensional elements. Case 3, both the rectangular thin plate and clamping plates are modelled with three-dimensional elements. Case 4, the rectangular thin plate, and clamping plates are modelled with three-dimensional elements with larger mesh density to increase the accuracy of the calculation results. After that, the results of vibration analysis according to the numerical modelling method on Patran-Nastran software platform for these cases were compared with the measurement results. From there, assess the accuracy of analysis results of selected numerical model methods and the ability to widely apply this numerical model method to other marine structures

To solve the dynamic response problems of magnetic coupling in the horizontal axis wave energy device, this has researched the dynamic characteristicsof magnetic coupling. The fitting formula about torque and angle of the magnetic coupling is obtained through experiments. The mathematical models of the magnetic coupling torque transmission are established. The steady state error of the magnetic coupling and the transfer function of the output angle are obtained. The analytical solution of the step response of the output angle in time domain is derived. The influence of the torsional rigidity, the damping coefficient and the driven rotor’s rotational inertia on dynamic characteristics of the magnetic coupling isanalyzed. According to the analysis results, the design rules of magnetic coupling are proposed.

Among structural health monitoring (SHM) methods of thin-walled structures, a vibrodiagnostic method is one of the most promising. The accelerometer recorded responses provide diagnostic information that requires mathematical processing to extract the essential dynamic characteristics. The authors have been looking for new parameters - diagnostic benchmarks which can be applied to non-destructive, automatic testing of thin-walled marine structures (especially their welded joints) like ship hulls. All characteristics have been based on recorded data generated during the vibration tests of welded joints with and without failures. For this purpose, the authors proposed method based on: FFT windowing analysis, benchmark with using 2D or 3D time – frequency dynamic characteristics and the determination of damping decrement in function of time. The work presents the algorithm and exemplary results obtained from the application of proposed method to several selected sample plates with different type of welds.

An approximate method for determination of dynamic characteristics of structures with viscoelastic dampers is proposed in this paper. A fractional derivative is used to describe the dynamic behaviour of viscoelastic dampers. The method is based on a continuous dependency of the sensitivity of eigenvalue on a certain artificially introduced parameter which scaled up the influence of the damping term in the eigenvalue problem. Some results of a representative calculation are also presented and briefly discussed.

A deep hybrid electric vehicle (DHEV) equipped with a Ravigneaux compound planetary gear train (PGT) encounters severe gear whine noises during acceleration in the EV drive mode. For the analysis of vibro-acoustic sources, a 5DOF lumped-parameter vibration model for the PGT dynamic system is established as well as sound pressures radiated from the transmission on a test bench are measured for data processing and recognition. By comparison between numerical and experimental analyses, natural vibration modes of the PGT are examined and high frequency modal resonances in association with the planetary gears are observed only to cause narrow band whine noises. Furthermore, a 2DOF reduced dynamic model for the planetary gears with consideration of nonlinearities such as time-varying mesh stiffness and backlash is proposed, and numerical solutions to bifurcations and dynamic instabilities of the two sets of planetary gears are obtained. It is found that nonlinear vibration behaviour of the long and short planets are major causes of shock and vibration of the hybrid transmission. Severe vibro-acoustic noises excited dominantly by the planetary gears are alleviated after implementing micro-geometry modifications to the PGT.

W artykule scharakteryzowano proces powstawania prądu elektrycznego w akumulatorze kwasowym, w którym następuje rozpad cząstek na jony oraz reakcje przebiegające na anodzie i katodzie podczas jego działania. Przedstawiono wyniki badań i tendencje zmian SEM polaryzacji akumulatora w warunkach obciążenia prądowego. Dokonano analizy intensywności jej zmian w funkcji temperatury i natężenia prądu obciążenia podczas wyładowania akumulatora. Porównano wartości stałych czasowych akumulatora obciążonego i po wyłączeniu obciążenia.
The article describes the process of creating an electric current in the acid battery by disintegration of particles on ions, the reaction proceeding at the anode and the cathode during operation. The results of research and trends of the electromotive force of the battery polarity under current load conditions are presented. The analysis of its changes intensity as a function of temperature and load current during battery discharge is made. There are compared of constant times of the loaded battery and after load switching.

Acoustic methods could play an important role in monitoring vertical and horizontal fish distribution; including fish stock assessment, however the fish as acoustic target is not precisely specified still. The paper describes a new type of approach to express diel variability of acoustic parameter Sv, characterizing fish volume density. Multi-depth-channel integration of fish echoes was applied to estimate the average dil models of Sv dependence on time of a day. The final characteristics was calculated by computer as a vectoral field, showing quasi-continuous diel transformation of depth distribution of Sv values. Example based on data collected during October 1996 RV "Baltica" research cruise was given and discussed. Strong variability of Sv values with time and depth was exposed and clearly different diel phases of fish behaviour were separated. Results indicate a necessity of further research on fish target strength within separate periods of a diel cycle, to define more accurately biomass conversion factors. The method shown could enreach significantly systematic physiotogical studies on fish behaviour also.

The authors of the article have been looking for a new parameters and dynamic characteristics, which can be applied to non-destructive testing of welded joints. All characteristics have been based on recorded data generated during the vibration tests of welded joints with and without failures. The article deals with the methods of assessing welding joints using 2D: time – frequency dynamic characteristics. A calculation procedure used for analysing simultaneous changes of the response modules, registered by acceleration sensors was presented. Vibrations amplitudes were transformed to a function of time and frequency (simultaneously) and presented over 2D time – frequency characteristics. The analyses of the characteristics were performed for a plate without any welded joint, for a plate with non-defected welded joint and for a plate with a welded joint defected by an edge bonding. Having analysed registered 2D time – frequency dynamic characteristics it can be noticed that presenting the responses analysed simultaneously over the time and frequency allows evaluating if examined system maintains non-linearity and, at the same time, it allows to indirectly assess the quality of the welded joint. The proposed measure parameters of the quality of a welded joint can be defined as a dispersion of colours on the obtained characteristics. The faults (and the vibration nonlinearity) of the welded joints is bigger if the dispersion is greater.

A unified and general approach to modeling and simulation of aircraft prescribed trajectory flight is presented in the paper. The program of motion is composed of a specified trajectory in space (two constrains on the aircraft position), a required fuselage attitude with respect to the trajectory, and optionally, elevator and rudder deflections and thrust changes, a tangent realization of the trajectory constrains arises, which yields two additional constraints on the fuselage attitude (which thus becomes fully specified). The govering equations of the programmed motion are developed in the form of differential-algebraic equations, and a method of solving the equations is proposed. The solution consist of variations of the aircraft state variables and the required control that ensures realization of the prescribed motion program. This gives a unique opportunity to study simulated control strategies and evaluate feasibility of modeled aircraft mission. Some results of numerical simulations are reported.
Predykcja własności dynamicznych i sterowania samolotem w ruchu programowym po założonej trajektorii. W pracy przedstawione jest uogólnione i zmodyfikowane podejście do modelowania i symulacji programowego ruch samolotu. Program ruchu budowany jest za pomocą założonej trajktorii przestrzennej (dwa warunki więzów nakładane na położenie samolotu), narzuconych zmian konfiguracji płatowca względem tej trajektorii oraz, opcjonalnie, zmian prędkości lotu. W przypadku samolotu sterowanego klasycznie za pomocą wychyleń powierzchni sterowych (lotek oraz sterów wysokości i kierunku) oraz zmiany siły ciągu, realizacja więzów trajektorii lotu jest styczna, co implikuje dwa dodkowe warunki na zmiany konfiguracji płatowca względem trajektorii. W ten sposób zmiany konfiguracji kątowej płatowca stają się w pełni określone (zaprogramowane). Równania ruchu programowego generowane są w postaci równań różniczkowo-algebraicznych. Proponowana jest metoda numerycznego rozwiązania tych równań. Jako rozwiązania są zmiany w czasie zmiennych stanu ruchu samolotu oraz przebiegi sterowania samolotem wymagane dla ścisłej realizacji więzów programowych. Otwiera to nowe możliwości analizy symulowanych manewrówsamolotu oraz oceny ich realizowalności. Przytaczne są wybrane wyniki symulacji numerycznej.

Opis:
Bi-rotary milling head is the primary component of multiple-axis machine tool toward the multiply machining operation. The machining performance is greatly related to the structure characteristics and positioning precisions of the swivel head. This study was aimed at developing a bi-rotary milling head module, which is composed of a direct drive motor, cross roller bearings and motorized spindle unit. In order to evaluate the machining stability at the design phase, the dynamic characteristics of the rotary milling were first analyzed with finite element method. Especially, the variations of the dynamic characteristics of the spindle tool with the changing of the titling configuration of swivel axis were examined. In order to consider the accurate presentation of a spindle tool system and swivel mechanism, the bearings in the rolling components were also included in the finite element model and simulated with surface contact elements with adequate contact stiffness. The dynamic frequency response function of the spindle tool at different swinging positions were predicted for comparisons, which were further used to calculate the machining stability based on the machining mechanics. The current results show that the feeding direction and swinging positions of rotary milling head have a significant influence on the dynamic characteristics and machining ability of the spindle tool. The variations of the cutting depth with the swinging of A axis fall in the range of 11% to 40%, depending on the feeding direction and swinging angle. The analysis results are expected to clearly demonstrate the variation of the machining performance of the spindle tool under different milling configurations. The devised model and modeling approach can be applied to develop a five axis milling machine with desired dynamic and machining performance.

The section of the paper on simulation studies presents the application of fractional calculus to describe the dynamics of pneumatic systems used in telematics. In the construction of mathematical models of the analyzed dynamic systems, the Riemann-Liouville definition of non-integer order was used. For the analyzed model, transfer function of integer and non-integer order was determined. Functions describing characteristics in time and frequency domains were determined, whereas the characteristics of the analyzed systems were obtained by means of computer simulation. The section of the paper on laboratory research presents the results of the laboratory tests of the injection system of the internal combustion engine with special attention to the verification of simulated tests of selected pneumatic systems described with the use of fractional calculus.

The work presents a new technology for the assembly of ball guideway systems which involves the use of a thin layer of special casting compound (EPY resin) used mainly for stable seating of machinery, especially on steel or concrete foundations. The paper presents results of simulation investigations. Simulation model was built using results of static tests. The results of simulation dynamic tests in the form of frequency response functions are shown. Experimentally supported simulation research presented in the work indicates that the use of EPY resin between the guide rail and the bed of the machine tool positively influences the dynamics of the system. The comparison of the new solution with the one used so far was performed on the basis of a guideway combination consisting of a body and a milling table. The dynamics was compared with the use of a frequency response function obtained using an impulse test. The proposed solutions are characterized by higher dynamic stiffness, which may directly influence the precision of the machined surfaces.

Opis:
A method for evaluating the dynamic characteristics of force transducers against small and short-duration impact forces is developed. In this method, a small mass collides with a force transducer and the impact force is measured with high accuracy as the inertial force of the mass. A pneumatic linear bearing is used to achieve linear motion with sufficiently small friction acting on the mass, which is the moving part of the bearing. Small and short-duration impact forces with a maximum impact force of approximately 5 N and minimum half-value width of approximately 1 ms are applied to a force transducer and the impulse responses are evaluated.

The article presents the method and algorithm of automatic pointer measuring devices (voltmeter, manometer, metronomes etc.) indications determination in order to determine their dynamic characteristics with the help of web-camera and personal computer. The results of testing and experimental research of developed tool for determining the dynamic characteristics of pointer measuring devices are given. Using this method, the algorithm and the software developed, the process of determining the dynamic characteristics of the pointer measuring devices was automated. The time of recognition and calculation of one measured value for a dual-core processor and webcam with a resolution of 0.3 Mp averages 250–330 ms.

Dynamic properties are vital for the working reliability of aft stern tube bearings. However, the determination of such properties currently involves several simplifications and assumptions. To obtain its dynamic characteristics accurately, the aft stern tube bearing was divided into several bearing segments. The oil film reaction force was considered in the calculation of shaft alignment, and the journal deflection and actual oil film thickness were obtained accordingly. Subsequently, the perturbed Reynolds equation was solved using the finite difference method when the dynamic characteristics of journal bearings with finite width were evaluated. Then, a calculation program was developed and verified by comparing with the results of other studies. Finally, the dynamic characteristics were calculated under different revolutions. The results showed that the stiffness at the vertical direction of the aft stern tube bearing was several times that of the horizontal direction and varied with the revolutions of the shafting system. These findings can provide the foundation for the precise calculation of the journal trajectory under dynamic conditions, as well as for the evaluation of the oil film thickness. Moreover, the results led to favorable conditions for the accurate calculation of the shafting whirling vibration.

Aiming at the problem that the cutting efficiency of a drum shearer is low when mining hard coal seams, an experimental bench of high-pressure water fracturing assisted cutting is designed. Compared with normal ones, the maximum equivalent stress of the improved experimental bench is reduced by 55.38%, and the maximum total deformation is reduced by 27.23%. According to the results of dynamic response analysis, it is concluded that the experimental bench of high-pressure water fracturing assisted cutting is stable and reliable under extreme working conditions, and meets design requirements for strength and stiffness.

This paper deals with the mathematical modeling of the separation process in the dynamic scrubber with the generation of the model in Ansys CFX software. A model of gas flow and dispersion medium and the hydrodynamic picture of a swirling movements phases is obtained. The conducted research provide an opportunity to predict aerohydrodynamic characteristics of the device at the design stage. Doing so may provide design solutions to such units of the apparatus that could dramatically improve the efficiency of gas cleaning.

W artykule przedstawiono problem pomiarów właściwości dynamicznych żelbetowych kominów przemysłowych o wysokościach od 100 do 300 m. Badania te umożliwiają określenie częstotliwości drgań własnych, odpowiadające im formy drgań i tłumienie tych obiektów. Charakterystyka dynamiczna jest niezbędna do diagnostyki stanu technicznego i oceny bezpieczeństwa kominów. Zagadnienia te nabierają szczególnego znaczenia na terenach górniczych w rejonach występowania intensywnych wpływów parasejsmicznych, m.in. na terenie Legnicko-Głogowskiego Okręgu Miedziowego (LGOM)). W pracy uwagę zwrócono przede wszystkim na metody wzbudzania drgań kominów w ich naturalnej skali. Podano przykłady organizacji badań i aranżacji aparatury pomiarowej. Przedstawiono także wyniki badań dynamicznych 16 wysokich kominów żelbetowych
The problem of dynamic measurements of industrial reinforced concrete chimneys H = 100+300 m was described in the paper. These measurements enabled to evaluate natural frequency, vibration forms and vibration damping of this objects. Dynamic characteristics are needed to diagnose and safety evaluation of chimneys. This problem is very important in regions of paraseismic mining shocks, e.g. at Legnicko-Głogowski Copper District (LGOM). The particular notice in the paper was put on the vibration excitation of chimneys in their natural scale. Examples of organization of investigations and arrangement of testing measurement equipments were given. Authors presented dynamic measurement results of 16 high reinforced concrete chimneys

The analysis of transportation flow andtechnical condition of cargo-carrying vehicles and buses has showed the need in the research of its influence on the passing density on signalized intersections. The indicator which reflects this influence is represented by light motor vehicle passenger car equivalent (PCE). The need in determining a passenger car equivalent for differently structured transportation flows is demonstrated not according to the recognized methodology, but according to the one developed by the authors which takes into account both diverse structure and the level of technical condition of road users. The latter one decreases launching dynamics of vehicles which depart from the stop line. The respective passenger car equivalents are determined for such a structure of traffic flow. These calculations differ from already known and normative ones. Due to the simulation (the VISSIM program) of passing at an intersection with the use of calculated passenger car equivalents which take into account the technical condition of vehicles, traffic delays on the main direction were defined as decreased by 7.6% for respective duration of permissive signal on a traffic light.

A two-stage linkage safety valve for hydraulic support is presented. Considering the hydraulic support is impacted, dynamic simulation of the column circuit with the two-stage safety valve subject impact loading was carried out, and the dynamic characteristics of the two- -stage safety valve with different impact forms were studied. A rapid impact loading test rig was built to test the two-stage safety valve sample under impact loading. Simulation and experimental results indicate that the two-stage safety valve has high sensitivity and good unloading performance, it can realize fast and large flow unloading of the hydraulic support under different impact forms and pressures.

The authors of this article have been looking for new parameters and dynamic characteristics which can be applied to the non-destructive testing of welded joints. All the characteristics have been based on the recorded data generated during the vibration tests of welded joints both with and without failures. This article has dealt with the methods of assessing welded joints using either 2D or 3D time-frequency dynamic characteristics. The calculation procedure that was used for analyzing the simultaneous changes of the response modules, registered by acceleration sensors, has been presented. The vibration amplitudes were transformed into a function of time and frequency (simultaneously) and presented over 2D or 3D time-frequency characteristics. The analyses of the characteristics were performed for a plate without a welded joint, for a plate with a non-defective welded joint and for a plate with a defective welded joint caused by edge bonding. Having analyzed and registered the 2D or 3D time-frequency dynamic characteristics it could be noticed that by presenting the responses, analyzed simultaneously against time and frequency, allowed for the evaluation of whether the examined system maintained non-linearity and, at the same time, allowed for the quality of the welded joint to be indirectly assessed. The proposed measurement parameters of the quality of a welded joint can be defined as a dispersion of the colors from the obtained characteristics. The faults (and the vibration nonlinearity) of the welded joints will be bigger if the dispersion is greater.

The safety, comfort of the crews, stability, economics of the equipment when ship operating is the leading requirement in the field of designing and manufacturing marine structure and machinery. As a result, all parts of the ships must be tested and inspected to meet the basic safety requirements of the shipping association. The design, manufacture, testing in the maritime field in general and shipbuilding sector in particular are expensive, time consuming: such as aerodynamic experiments of the engine, collision test, ship manoeuvring, vibration test and balance of deck beams, hull beams, hatch covers, shafts ...thus experimental works are sometimes impossible. Along with the development of computer science, many numerical models and software programs have been developed to solve these difficult problems. There are many numerical modelling methods, starting with the finite difference method, the boundary element method, the finite element method, the no mesh method, the weight residue or the energy method. The Work will be limited to the analysis of the most popular numerical modelling method - finite element method using Patran and Nastran software. In the first step of our research, T-beam was analysed as a part of ship hull structure (thin-walled structure). The article goes into the analysis of the accuracy of selected numerical models for the natural vibration frequency of the T-beams mounted on the plate. After modelling, calculating the natural frequency of the T-beam using the Patran - Nastran software, the results were compared with the theoretical values. From that, we evaluate the dispersion and error of different numerical models and select the optimal numerical model. Optimal model will be used for modelling full ship hull with superstructure.

The purpose of the work is dynamic analysis of passive dampers used in structural systems to reduce excessive vibrations caused by wind or earthquakes. Special systems are considered that contain inerter, i.e. device using rotational inertia, in combination with a viscoelastic damper. The so-called fractional models of viscoelastic dampers describe their dynamic behavior in a wide frequency range using a small number of model parameters. To describe material behavior over a wider frequency range, the time-temperature superposition principle is used. The shifting factor is calculated from the well-known William-Landel-Ferry formula. This allows for determination of damper parameters at any temperature based on the parameters obtained at the reference temperature. Laplace transformation of the derived equations of motion leads to the non-linear eigenproblem, which could be solved using the continuation method. The influence of temperature on the dynamic characteristics of the system is examined.

Electrorheological fluids show immediate variations of their rheological properties when subjected to varying electric fields. This study presents vibration analysis of a closed cylindrical shell partially filled with controllable fluids. The analysed structure as an element of harmonic drive can generate torsional vibration due to the wave generator operation. As a result of the study, fluid-filled laminated cylindrical shell has shown an increased and controllable damping capacity as compared to the conventional shell.
Ciecze elektroreologiczne wykazują szybkie zmiany swoich właściwości reologicznych pod wpływem pola elektrycznego.W pracy przedstawiono analizę drgań zamkniętej walcowej powłoki częściowo wypełnionej cieczą elektroreologiczną poddaną działaniu pola elektrycznego. Zastosowanie tego rozłożonego tłumika semiaktywnego powoduje zmniejszenie drgań skrętnych powłoki jako części przekładni falowej w porównaniu z klasycznym rozwiązaniem. Zbadano dwie konfiguracje tłumika i stwierdzono, że tłumik pływający ma lepsze właściwości tłumiące w porównaniu z tłumikiem jednostronnie sztywno połączonej z powłoką.

The implementation of low-sulphur, so-called modified marine fuels into operation requires prior laboratory engine tests to assess the energy, emission and structural effects of their usage. This type of research are carried out on the test bed of a diesel engine as a small-scale physical model that reproduces the adequate design and process (parametric) features of a full-size marine engine. Their key stage is to determine the energy characteristics of the engine in the steady state of operation determined on the basis of the analysis of the developed indicator diagram and the dynamic characteristics of the transient processes from idling to the reference steady state of load - and vice versa. In this way, the basic diagnostic parameters of the fuel usable quality are determined: the rate of pressure increase in the cylinder and the average deceleration of the engine crankshaft within the strenuous transient process. This article presents representative results of this type of research carried out on six different, low-sulphur marine fuels used to feed marine engines.

Opracowano model matematyczny funkcjonującej oczyszczalni ścieków, sformułowany w oparciu o uzyskaną bazę danych doświadczalnych otrzymanych z procesu usuwania zanieczyszczeń ze ścieku surowego. Wykorzystując zasadę ergodyczności, analizowaną bazę danych przedstawiono w sposób dogodny do klasycznej analizy statystycznej, opartej na definicji estymatorów funkcji korelacyjnych. Uzyskany model matematyczny może być z powodzeniem zastosowany do poszukiwania optymalnych warunków prowadzenia procesu oczyszczania ścieków przemysłowych.
The objective of the study is to show that the statistical analysis of the stochastic input and output signals obtained from the functioning sewage treatment plant can be used for mathematical description of the process reduction of substance form a municipal sewage. The discrete-time linear problems are estimated by using the adequate statistical estimators. The correlation functions are applied to analyze of the process purification of municipal sewages.

Turbine jet engines maintenance (adjustment) actions are performed during standard ground tests, but they are used during the flight. It turns out that the characteristics of the engine determined during the ground tests from the input value "w" introduced by the engine control lever DSS are significantly different from those obtained from disturbance “z" operating in the engine during the aircraft flight. It is noticed, that improvement of the engine control state made by mechanic during aircraft ground tests may cause the deterioration of the engine performance, which is felt by the pilot. The article presents a method that allows determining the basic characteristics of the engine in flight based only on the signals measured during testing ground. This method is based on measurement the major engine signals n – engine rpm, p4 – turbine discharge total pressure, p2 – low pressure compressor inlet, mp – fuel usage, then the designation of synthetic signals y=n/p4 (which describes the engine output), u=mp/p2 (describes engine input) and further their own and cross correlation function. Next, the power spectral density functions of these synthetic signals were calculated. Power spectral density functions is a basis to determine the spectral transfer function HW(jω) (during the ground tests) and HZ(jω) (in flight) which are the basis to determine the characteristics (step response) of the turbine jet engine in flight and during ground tests.

The article is close connected with building flying object, that fly like an insect (entomopter). Present work concerns on concept of aerodynamic model using artificial neural networks. Model is used in simulations of flight of entomopter. Aerodynamic model based on experimental data. Necessary data are taken from experiment performed in water tunnel on entomopter model. For this case dynamic test are required. Measurements are ducted during sinusoidal motion of whole model. Modelled object is dipterous. Each wing can perform various spherical motions (wing is rotated around point). The motion of the wing in this case was two-dimensional; it was rotated around two axis. As a model, specially trained neural network is used. For training are used data from measurement. Presented in this article approach is based on artificial neural networks. In this article, innovative concept of model, describing unsteady aerodynamics of entomopter was proposed. It was shown that it could be easily implemented as mathematical model. Unsteady effects related to many state variables can be easily captured. Model can be easily adopted to predict different states of flight by networks training on appropriate data. Test has to reproduce real conditions as close, as it is possible. In reality, it is challenging to design test that will reproduce similar motion.

W artykule scharakteryzowano SEM polaryzacji, jako wielkość reprezentującą cechy dynamiczne akumulatora. Opisano jej wpływ na procesy zachodzące w akumulatorze kwasowym podczas jego pracy. Wykazano, że intensywność jej zmian może być wyrażana za pomocą stałej czasowej. Przedstawiono schemat zastępczy akumulatora kwasowego, w którym jego cechy dynamiczne w warunkach zmiennego obciążenia prądowego reprezentuje obwód CRC. Przedstawiono sposób wyznaczania stałej czasowej za pomocą wykładniczych funkcji regresji dla SEM polaryzacji. Wyniki obliczeń zestawiono w formie wykresów i dokonano ich interpretacji.
The paper describes the electromotive force of polarization as the amount representing the dynamic characteristics of the acid battery and its impact on the battery processes during operation. It has been shown that the intensity of its changes can be expressed by the time constant. There is presented a diagram of acid battery replacement, where its dynamic properties represents the CRC circuit. The paper presents a method for determining the time constant using exponential regression function for the electromotive force of polarization. The results of the calculations are presented in the form of charts and there is made their interpretation.

The underframe passive inerter-based suspended device, based on the inerter-spring-damper vibration attenuation structure, could improve the dynamic performance of the train body, but its parameters are fixed and cannot meet the dynamic performance requirements under different operating conditions. Therefore, a semi-active inerter-based suspended device based on the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) control strategy is proposed to further enhance the dynamic performance. The rigid-flexible coupling vertical dynamic model of the train body and an underframe semi-active inerter-based suspended device are established. The structural parameters of the semi-active inerter-based suspended device are adjusted using LQR control strategy. Dynamic response of the system is obtained using the virtual excitation method. The dynamic characteristic of the system is evaluated using the Sperling index and compared with those of the passive and semi-active traditional suspended devices as well as the passive inerter-based suspended devices. The vertical vibration acceleration of the train body and Sperling index using the semi-active inerter-based suspended device is the smallest among the four suspended devices, which denotes the advantages of using the inerter and LQR control strategy. The semi-active inerter-based suspended device could decrease the vertical vibration acceleration of the train body and further suppress its elastic vibration in the lower frequency band, more effectively than the other three suspended devices. Overall, the semi-active inerter-based suspended device could significantly reduce elastic vibration of the train body and improve its dynamical performance.

The fluctuation process of warp movement is analysed by the nonlinear vibration method. Based on Newton’s Law, a differential equation of warp axial/cross direction movement is established. This paper separates the time variable from the space variable by the variable- separating method, then it gives a numerical solution of the motion equation by the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method. Also this paper discusses influencing factors and variable trends for warp vibration. Finally a method for the control of vibration is introduced.
Proces drgań przy ruchu osnowy jest analizowany przez nieliniową metodę określania drgań. Równanie różniczkowe poprzecznego i osiowego kierunku ruchu osnowy oceniane jest na podstawie prawa Newtona. W pracy tej zmienna czasowa i zmienna przestrzenna rozdzielone są metodą rozdziału zmiennych, co daje rozwiązanie numeryczne równania ruchu przy pomocy metody Runge-Kutty 4-tego rzędu. W artykule omówiono również wpływ czynników i tendencji zmien na drgania osnowy, jak również przedstawiono metodę kontroli drgań.

The paper analyses the effect of road roughness on the variation of the vertical oscillations’ frequency of the sprung and unsprung masses of a vehicle driving at varying speed. The research aims to determine the regularity with which the wheel of a vehicle moving at varying speed reproduces the roughness of road pavement texture. The theory of mathematical statistics is used to define the distribution law of road defects measured during the experiment. In the present investigation, the displacements of the wheel and suspension of the vehicle, driving at varying speed over the defects of the selected road section pavement, have been evaluated. Based on the frequency characteristic obtained from the measured data, the frequency variation of the displacements of the sprung and unsprung masses in a vehicle moving on a rough road has been determined. The vertical acceleration of the wheel and the body of a vehicle has been measured, and the frequency characteristic of vertical acceleration of the sprung and unsprung vehicles’ masses has been analysed. The schematic view of the wheel’s axis displacement model is presented.
Artykuł analizuje wpływ nierówności drogi na zmiany częstotliwości dynamiki pionowej resorowanych i nieresorowanych mas samochodu przy różnych prędkościach. Celem jest określenie wzoru nierówności drogi przy różnych prędkościach, za pomoca analizy zmian częstotliwości drgań kół pojazdu. Podczas przeprowadzonego eksperymentu zmierzono nierówności drogi i za pomocą teorii analizy matematycznej określono charakterystykę nierówności nawierzchni. Podczas prób jazdy po nierównościach wybranego odcinka drogi przy różnych prędkościach zmierzono przesunięcia pionowe koła i zawieszenia samochodu. Na podstawie charakterystyki częstotliwościowej oceniono zmiany częstotliwości przebiegów pionowych resorowanych i nieresorowanych mas pojazdu jadącego po nierównościach drogi. Zmierzono przyspieszenia pionowe koła oraz nadwozia i przeprowadzono analizę częstotliwości przyspieszeń pionowych resorowanych i nieresorowanych mas. Przedstawiony jest schematyczny model przesunięć osi koła.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki modelowania obwodowego i obwodowo-polowego charakterystyk elektromagnetycznych małego (370 W) silnika indukcyjnego przy biegu jałowym i w stanie zwarcia. Pomierzone charakterystyki pozwoliły na weryfikację obliczonych parametrów schematu zastępczego silnika. Parametry te zostały wykorzystane w obliczeniach obwodowych przebiegów rozruchowych silnika zasilanego napięciem sieciowym. Porównanie wyników wskazuje na dobrą adekwatność stosowanego modelu obwodowego.
In last years the speed-control drives with inverter-fed induction motors more and more are used. In inverter-fed motors additional phenomena due to high voltage/current harmonics may occur. Thus, the necessity to modify mathematical models of induction motor's should be taken seriously into consideration to make possible electromagnetic calculations in static and dynamic states as well. In the paper are presented the results of the electromagnetic characteristics' modelling of a small induction motor (370 W) using circuit method and circuit-field one as well, in no-load and short-circuit states of the machine. The modified motor's model should take into consideration the higher motor's harmonics as well as non linear phenomena such as magnetic circuit saturation, displacement of currents in rotor bars [3] and parametric resonance [5], if any, i.e. their influence on equivalent circuit parameters of the motor. Therefore, the calculation of motor's field distribution was necessary using field and circuit calculation methods. Next, these parameters have been used in order to calculate - using the circuit method - the start characteristics of the motor when supplying with network voltage. Applying the measured motor characteristics the verification of the calculated motor's equivalent circuit parameters has been done, in no-load and short-circuit states of the motor. The calculations and measurements of currents have been done when supplying motor with network sinusoidal voltage as well as with PWM inverter. Relevant results are shown in sequence in Fig. 2 (r.m.s. currents' values) and Fig. 3 (relative differences between calculated and measured currents related to measured value when supplying with sinusoidal voltage). In Figs 10, 11, 12 the measured and calculated courses of phase currents, electromagnetic torque and speed during free acceleration of the motor are presented. The comparison of measured and calculated results proves a good adequacy of the circuit model used.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań współczynnika tarcia statycznego i kinetycznego regeneracyjnych kompozytów metalopolimerowych w ruchu posuwisto-zwrotnym. Osnową kompozytów była żywica epoksydowa napełniona proszkiem żelaza, a jako dodatek niskotarciowy zastosowano polimer termoplastyczny – tarflen otrzymywany metodą suspensyjną. Sporządzono serię kompozytów o zawartości 5, 10 i 15 cz. wag. politetrafluoroetylenu (PTFE). Do sieciowania kompozytów zastosowano poliaminę alifatyczną (trietylenotetraaminę). Proces sieciowania prowadzono w temperaturze pokojowej. Do wyznaczenia współczynnika tarcia statycznego i kinetycznego skojarzeń kompozy–stal wykorzystano specjalistyczne stanowisko, z układem przystosowanym do badania tarcia ślizgowego w ruchu posuwisto-zwrotnym. Według opracowanej metodyki zbadano również podatność badanych skojarzeń materiałowych na występowanie efektu stick-slip. Pomiary wykonano przy różnych naciskach jednostkowych charakterystycznych dla układów prowadnicowych obrabiarek skrawających (0,5; 1,0; 1,5 i 2,0 MPa). Wyznaczono również statyczno-dynamiczne charakterystyki tarcia typowego skojarzenia materiałowego w układach prowadnicowych: stal–stal. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników badań stwierdzono, że zastosowany jako modyfikator właściwości kompozytów politetrafluoroetylen wpływa korzystnie na charakterystyki tribologiczne kompozytów. Skojarzenie kompozyt–stal charakteryzuje się mniejszym współczynnikiem tarcia statycznego i mniejszą podatnością na występowanie efektu stick-slip niż klasyczne skojarzenie materiałowe stal–stal.
The paper presents the results of static and dynamic friction force measurements for metal-polymer regeneration composites obtained in a reciprocating motion. The composite matrix was epoxy resin filled with iron powder, and a solid lubricant – polytetrafluoroethylene – tarflen obtained by suspension method. The composites with various quantitative contents of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) 5, 10 and 15% were prepared. The composites were cross-linked at room temperature. The static and dynamic friction coefficient of composite-steel tribosystems was measured by means of a special test rig with a tribosystem adapted for sliding friction investigation under reciprocation motion. Using the elaborated methodology the stick-slip phenomena occurred in the investigated tribosystems was analysed. The measurements were performed under various unit pressures typical for the sliding guides in cutting machines (0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 MPa). As a reference the static and dynamic characteristics of the steel – steel tribosystem was investigated. On the basis of obtained test results, it was concluded that polytetrafluoroethylene used as a friction modifier improves the tribological properties of the composite. The composite-steel tribosystem shows lower static friction coefficient and reduced stick-slip phenomena than conventional steel-steel tribosystem.

W artykule omówiono stanowisko laboratoryjne do automatycznego wyznaczania charakterystyk dynamicznych czujników drgań, które może być również wykorzystane dla celów dydaktycznych. Opracowano algorytm automatyzacji pomiaru i praktycznie zrealizowano go w środowisku LabView. Podstawowym zadaniem algorytmu sterującego jest dobór nastaw generatora sygnału w taki sposób, aby w jak najkrótszym czasie doprowadzić drgania głowicy stołu wibracyjnego do zadanej wartości przyśpieszenia lub przemieszczenia. Po jej osiągnięciu następuje odczyt wartości amplitud sygnałów wyjściowych z czujników: wzorcowego i badanego dla zadanej częstotliwości. Procedura jest automatycznie powtarzana dla kolejnej zadanej wartości częstotliwości i przyśpieszenia bądź przemieszczenia.
The paper presents a laboratory stand meant for automatic evaluation of vibration sensors dynamic characteristics, which also may be used for teaching purposes. An algorithm of measurement automation has been elaborated and practically realized in the LabView environment. The basic task of the controlling algorithm is the choice of the signal generator settings to assure, that the head of vibrating table achieve assigned values of acceleration or displacement. After that a readings are made of output signals for the sensors: standard and examined for the assigned frequency. The procedure is automatically repeated for subsequent values of acceleration or displacement.

Opis:
Selected parameters of steel for constructional ballistic shields used in the Navy vessels have been presented. The standards for steel to be used for ballistic shields are established by safety standards institutions and committees. The analysis has been made upon currently available national and international steel types. The analysis made allowed to select the types of steel with the best parameters to be used for ballistic safety shields in marine vessels and give the direction for further research determined by contemporary threats of both military and terroristic nature. The paper presents inter alia: macroscopic images of a crater filled with the remains of grinded and eroded rifle missile with traces of adiabatic shear in the cut of steel disc, the diagram of a vessel of special purpose equipped with shields made of metal plates the Polish Register of Marine Vessels requirements for mechanical parameters of mild-alloy steel and welded joints of high resistance, the stress - strain diagram for steel 10GHMBA-E620T in speed of movement function, chemical constitution and resistance properties of representative steels used for ballistic shields on American and Japanese naval ships, chemical constitution of selected Swedish steels of high resistance applied for ballistic shields.

W artykule przedstawiono modułowy system do wyznaczania charakterystyk częstotliwościowych silników skokowych. Pomiar momentu może być prowadzony bezpośrednio "na wałku" silnika (momentomierzem obrotowym serii OPM lub poprzez pomiar reakcji stojana (momentomierzem dynamometrycznym z piezoelektrycznym czujnikiem siły. Oprócz badań konkretnych silników i sterowników stanowisko umożliwiło weryfikację metod badawczych i doskonalenie opisu formalnego mikromaszyn i procedur sterowania.
The paper presents a modular test system designed in the Division of Fine Mechanics Design - the Institute of Micromechanics and Photonics, intended for setting frequency depended characteristic curves of a stepper motors. There is a possibility of measurement of two kinds of characteristics (pull-in and pull-out), both according to two different methods (see Fig. 1). During determination of characteristics the torque metering can be taken directly from a motor shaft with use of optoelectronic OPM series rotary torque meters or it can be processed also as a stator reaction force measurement made with use of a dynamometric torque meter equipped with a piezoelectric force transducer. Figs. 2-5 present possible configurations of a test bed and a set of transducers. The photo of the selected configuration is shown in Fig. 6 and view of the electronic module in Fig.7. Control and measurements can be made by a data acquisition card installed in a personal computer. The tested motor can be driven in full-, half- and micro-step modes, depending on its own driver. The main window of a control program (see Fig .8) allows a user to select the desired test method and its parameters. Algorithms of the test bed working modes are shown in a synthetic way in Figs. 9 and 10 (for pull-in curve). The experiments results, despite its utilitarian use (tests of particular motors), can be applied to scientific research - comparison of different methods for determination of characteristics. The exemplary results are presented in Figs. 11-13.
