In the era of common access to freedom on the Internet, there are more and more controversies between advocates of complete freedom and followers of the idea of limiting the usage of the global network’s resources. Should the Internet become a space of unlimited freedom? Contrary to common belief, the answer to such a question is not that obvious, although intuitively one would like to say yes. The Internet is basically an egalitarian tool of communication, a space of easy creation and transfer of content, for which the only limit is technology and unlimited human imagination. Freedom seems to be not only an immanent, but even a constitutive feature of the virtual space in which the Internet functions.

Opis:
The paper presents new method of integration home digital network with Bluetooth wireless communication system. In this new application Bluetooth is used as one of the main ways of communication and information exchange between elements of the system for integrated, centralized control of the digital devices in the multimedia home platform. Bluetooth enables communication between multimedia gateway with the HTTP server inside and personal communication assistants (PCA), special kind of the remote control. The aim of the system is centralization of services in the multimedia gateway and integration of different services using only one control device.

Punktem wyjścia do rozważań na temat przyszłości biznesu zawartych w artykule jest opublikowany w 2018 r. raport z badania przeprowadzonego przez MIT wśród kierownictwa firm reprezentujących różne sektory gospodarki [Segars, 2018]. Wskazuje on na siedem podstawowych technologii, które zmienią świat. Są to: przetwarzanie globalne, sieci bezprzewodowe, biotechnologia, druk 3D, sztuczna inteligencja, nanotechnologia i robotyka. Każda z ww. technologii wykazuje trzy charakterystyczne właściwości, które odróżniają je od technologii będących motorem poprzednich rewolucji. Są to sztuczna inteligencja, „naturalny interfejs” oraz globalne przetwarzanie, co daje podstawę do stwierdzenia, iż wzorcem przyszłego biznesu ma być inteligentna cyfrowa sieć. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest wskazanie wybranych obszarów w obrębie łańcucha dostaw, w których – zdaniem autora – zastosowanie sztucznej inteligencji będzie miało szczególne znaczenie.
The starting point for the considerations on the future of business contained in the article is the report from the survey conducted by MIT among the management of companies representing various economic sectors. Report points to seven basic technologies that will change the world. These are: sequential processing, wireless networks, biotechnology, 3D printing, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology and robotics. Each of these technologies has three characteristic properties that distinguish them from technologies that are the engine of previous revolutions. They are intelligence (artificial intelligence), “natural interface” and universality and ubiquity. This indicates an intelligent digital network as a model for future business. The aim of this study is to identify selected areas within the supply chain, in which – according to the author – the use of artificial intelligence will be of particular importance.

The aim of this work is to analyze urban development of Mexico City in its broader, macro-regional context which also describes the term megalopolis, and in its narrower, metropolitan sense. Without attempting to reach premature conclusions, we can say that a metropolis like Mexico City is exposed to processes typical of such cities: more and more extensive land use, changes in economic, social and demographic structures, etc. What is more, like other emerging or accelerating processes, also globalization had an important impact on cities, resulting in both positive and negative changes. This work is an attempt to identify and, if possible, to analyze some of these changes in Mexico City.
Celem tej pracy jest analiza rozwoju miasta Meksyk tak w kontekście szerszym, makroregionalnym, jak i w węższym, metropolitalnym. Nie starając się formułować przedwczesnych wniosków, można powiedzieć, że zarówno metropolia, jak i megalopolia miasta Meksyk wystawione są na działanie procesów wspólnych dla tego typu miast: rozrost terytorialny, zmiany struktury ekonomicznej, społeczno-demograficznej itd. Musimy też dodać, że wystąpienie lub, jak chcą niektórzy, przyśpieszenie procesu globalizacji doprowadziło do pojawienia się nowych zjawisk. Jak zwykle nowe procesy stwarzają zarówno wyzwania, jak i szanse. Niniejsza praca jest próbą identyfikacji i, jeśli to możliwe, analizy tych wyzwań i szans, przed którymi stoi miasto Meksyk.

In the last 20 years the digital revolution has brought a number of changes in the methods of dissemination of cultural works, particularly in the distribution of audiovisual works. An integration of electronic devices and content brings new opportunities for the development of cultural activity. An important example illustrating the range of changes in the domain of cultural management is the Malopolska Digital Cinema Network. It was created in part with funds from MROP 2007–2013 and exemplifies the use of technological innovation as an indicator of cultural mobilization. This text is a case study of local digital cinema network and attempts to define the scope of the impact of the use of digital tools in cultural and viewing practices in the cities belonging to MSKC.

The term "information overload", which Alvin Toffler used in his book ”Future Shock” first published in 1970, was futuristic (A. Toffler, s. 316). Now the utopian vision of Toffler has materialized. These are modern information and communication technologies that play a significant role in building up the phenomenon of information overload. The problem is how modern education should change, and where to draw the line at including new technologies in students’ work.The article contains a discussion about the diagnosis of information overload and an attempt to place the teacher in the digital world. Today's students overuse modern technology, which does not always result in better quality education.
Określenie „przeciążenie informacyjne”, które Alvin Toffler umieścił w książce Szok przyszłości wydanej po raz pierwszy w 1970 roku, było wówczas zwrotem futurystycznym (Toffler, s. 316). Z perspektywy prawie półwiecza utopijna wizja Tofflera dziś jest rzeczywistością. Znaczący udział w narastaniu zjawiska przeciążenia informacyjnego odgrywają nowoczesne technologie informacyjno-komunikacyjne. Musimy więc zadać sobie pytanie, jak powinna się zmieniać współczesna edukacja, gdzie postawić granicę przy włączaniu nowoczesnych technologii do pracy ze studentami. Niniejszy artykuł zawiera rozważania dotyczące diagnozy zjawiska przeładowania informacyjnego oraz próbę określenia pozycji nauczyciela w cyfrowym świecie. Współcześni uczniowie stali się swoistymi zakładnikami nowoczesnych technologii, ale nie zawsze przekłada się to na lepszą jakość kształcenia.

Effective implementation of the digital transformation is becoming crucial for companies in a growing number of sectors. Purpose: Identification of scores and opinions about licensed car maintenance and repair shops in Radom on the basis of the word-of-mouth message in digital social networks. Design/methodology/approach: Licensed car maintenance and repair shops located in Radom were selected for the research. There are 20 of them. In order to identify a word-of-mouth message about them, data available in Google Maps were used – both numerical scores and opinions. Total amount of 3561 entries was considered. A mixed quantitative-qualitative approach was assumed: the statistics of scores were analysed quantitatively, while the content of the posted opinions was analysed qualitatively. Findings: Average scores for all car maintenance and repair shops are included in the interval <4,0; 4,6>. The total weighted average score is 4,3. A sharp polarization among opinions was stated, resulting in dividing them into two groups: clearly positive and clearly negative ones. On one hand, opinions encompassing substantive marks of overall high service level, professionalism, competence and quickness in delivering services, contact and information, as well as friendly atmosphere and staff friendliness dominate among the positive ones. They are often posted by loyal customers, who repeatedly take advantage of the services. On the other hand, clearly emotional opinions, expressed as a result of a single incident of not fulfilling customer expectations in a blatant way or neglecting them dominate among negative ones. Research limitations/implications: Research concerning a limited geographical region. Research should be treated as a pilotage. Practical implications: Information concerning scores and opinions about car maintenance and repair shops can make a starting point for identifying the areas of service quality which demand improvement. Originality/value: An innovative assessment of service quality in car maintenance and repair shops performed with the use of word-of-mouth data available in a digital social network.

Opis:
Opisano zasady przesyłania sygnałów telewizyjnych z wykorzystaniem protokołu IP. Przedstawiono, opracowane na podstawie zaleceń ITU, wymagania techniczne dotyczące jakości odbieranego obrazu oraz parametrów sieci przesyłowej. Omówiono stosowane obiektywne i subiektywne metody pomiarowe. Podano autorską metodę ciągłej oceny, w domu abonenta, jakości obrazów przesyłanych sieciami IP, która została zgłoszona do ITU jako wkład polskiej administracji.
The paper deals with principles of digital video transmission over IP network. Technical requirements for received picture quality as well as IP network parameters, prepared on the basis of ITU Recommendations, are given. Both objective and subjective measuring methods are described. A continuous single stimulus method developed by the author and used for quality evaluation of picture delivered over IP network at user's home is presented. This method was submitted to ITU-T as a contribution of Polish administration.

: In large cities, we witness the development of alternative transport which accompanies the alternative car, motorcycle, scooter and bicycle transport and public transport, as well as traditional taxi transport. Such alternative forms of transport include the following transportation services: services similar to taxi services (however in lower price and offering alternative order placement methods when, i.e. ordering via a car rental application); rental of cars (owned by an enterprise or private owners) for minutes or hours, known as car sharing; and bicycle rental offered in a public rental system. Because of the specificity of order realisation, which requires access to the computer or a mobile device and the Internet and/or special app, alternative transport services are typically used by young people. In addition, a number of features characteristic for the younger digital generation (network generation, Y generation) supports a growing popularity of the transportation among the generation. Some of the features include: desire of freedom, personalisation, close observation, sensitivity to credibility and openness, desire of entertainment, joint actions, networking, a need for speed, innovation. The above-mentioned research was conducted on a pool of younger Y generation representatives, aged 19–24. Respondents are very happy to use alternative transport, they also plan to use it in the future and encourage others to do so. The key reason for their choosing such a type of transport is the freedom of choice of time and place, i.e. a vehicle is available any time and any place. On the other hand, they place some importance on the financial factor, but it is not decisive when compared to other advantages. Similarly, environment-friendly and collaborative aspects in the context of alternative transport choices have not been confirmed by the respondents’ opinion.
W dużych miastach obserwujemy rozwój transportu alternatywnego, towarzyszącego indywidualnemu transportowi samochodowemu, motocyklowemu, motorowerowemu i rowerowemu oraz zbiorowej komunikacji miejskiej i tradycyjnym przedsiębiorstwom taksówkowym. Do alternatywnych form transportu zaliczamy następujące usługi transportowe: zbliżone do usług taksówkowych, jednakże tańsze i odmienne w porównaniu z tradycyjnymi formami w sposobie realizacji zamówienia, które odbywają się przez aplikację, wynajem samochodów (będących własnością danego przedsiębiorstwa lub prywatnych właścicieli) na minuty lub godziny, co określamy mianem carsharingu, oraz wypożyczanie rowerów w ramach publicznego systemu wynajmu. Ze względu na specyfikę realizacji zamówienia, do czego potrzebny jest dostęp do komputera lub mobilnego urządzenia oraz internetu lub specjalnej aplikacji, z oferty firm świadczących usługi w ramach transportu alternatywnego korzystają najczęściej ludzie młodzi. Popularności tego transportu wśród przedstawicieli tego pokolenia sprzyja również wiele cech charakteryzujących młode pokolenie cyfrowe (sieci, Y). Przykładowe z tych cech to: pragnienie wolności, personalizacja, uważna obserwacja, czułość na wiarygodność i otwartość (wrażliwość?), pragnienie rozrywki, wspólne działania i nawiązywanie kontaktów, potrzeba prędkości, innowacyjność. Przytoczone badania zostały przeprowadzone wśród przedstawicieli młodszego pokolenia Y, czyli osób w wieku 19–24 lata. Ankietowani bardzo chętnie korzystają z transportu alternatywnego, w przyszłości również planują z niego korzystać i będą do tego zachęcać innych. Najważniejszymi powodami, które nimi kierują przy wyborze tego rodzaju transportu, są: dowolność w czasowym i przestrzennym korzystaniu z transportu, czyli fakt, że można z pojazdu skorzystać właściwie o dowolnej porze i w dowolnym miejscu. Natomiast czynnik finansowy ma dla nich pewne znaczenie, jednakże nie jest on decydujący wobec innych korzyści. Także czynniki ekologizacji i współpracy kolaboratywnej w kontekście wyboru transportu alternatywnego, na podstawie wypowiedzi badanych osób, nie zostały potwierdzone.

The purpose of this article is to reflect on what freedom of speech in the web is. In the age of universal freedom of access to the Internet, controversy is growing between supporters of full freedom and supporters of legal restrictions on the use of global Internet resources. Should the Internet be the space of unlimited freedom? Surprisingly enough, the answer to this question is not obvious, although intuitively one would like to answer in the affirmative. By definition, the Internet is an egalitarian tool of communication, a space for free creation and flow of content, for which the only limit is technology and human imagination, whose boundaries cannot be determined. The global network is a field completely unregulated and not bound by any rules. This situation is slowly changing and legislators and courts are beginning to set the boundaries of online proceedings. People posting content on the Internet must do so with precaution so as not to violate the limits of freedom of speech, especially in the field of broadly understood public security, crime, morality, public order, other people’s personal rights, and confidential information.
