    Opis:
    The paper discusses emotional intelligence as a factor of effective teaching. Emotional intelligence, in broad interpretation, is defined as the ability to differentiate between posi-tive and negative emotions, and the ability to change one’s emotional condition from a poor to a better one. Internal and external components are inherent in the emotional com-ponent, and they can provide stress protecting and adaptive functions of this integral con-cept. Also it highlights psychological characteristics of teachers working with children with developmental disorders. Psychological requirements for specialists who work with indi-viduals with special educational needs include psychological willingness of a personality for this work. This willingness can be considered as an integrated quality of a personality including a system of motivation, knowledge, skills, certain experience, personal qualities that ensure successful activity.

    Opis:
    Wakame seaweed is an important aquatic resource in Iwate Prefecture. However, a suctorian Ephelota gigantea sometimes causes great damage to wakame culture. Since little is known about the biological characteristics of E. gigantea, its detailed morphology and temporal change of biological characteristics during the 2010 culture season were investigated. Scanning electron microscope observations showed that E. gigantea had different striation patterns on the stalk; there was a swell made of cement by which the stalk was attached to wakame firmly; and the buds had cilia arranged in concentric circles about a ring in the center of the ventral side. A suctorian parasite was found to infect E. gigantea, and the infection seemed to have decreased drastically the attached density of E. gigantea on wakame. Cell size of parasite-infected E. gigantea individuals was larger than that of uninfected individuals, probably because larger E. gigantea has larger surface area for attachment of the parasite. Cyst formation or conjugating individuals were not observed.

    Artykuł przedstawia część rezultatów badawczych uzyskanych w ramach projektu dotyczącego treści i znaczenia charakterystyk osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w stopniu lekkim. Biorąc pod uwagę mnogość tekstów tego rodzaju ograniczono się do wyboru kilku najbardziej reprezentatywnych spośród nich. Zamierzeniem autorów było zwrócenie uwagi na potencjał tkwiący w tych opracowaniach i niebezpieczeństwa związane z nieprawidłowym ich odczytywaniem. Zaproszenie do przemyśleń na ten temat rozpoczęto od przedstawienia zasadności podjętych działań badawczych i ich założeń koncepcyjnych. W niniejszym artykule poddano analizie zagadnienia odnoszące się do właściwości rozwoju osób z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną w stopniu lekkim, zróżnicowania wewnątrzgrupowego omawianej populacji, uwzględniania w charakterystykach grupy odniesienia, sposobu wartościowania opisywanych cech oraz ukazywania powiązań pomiędzy poszczególnymi właściwościami funkcjonowania opisywanej zbiorowości. Informacje dotyczące formy analizowanych charakterystyk zostaną przedstawione w kolejnej publikacji.
    The article presents some of the research results obtained under the project on the content and importance of the characteristics of people with mild intellectual disability. Taking into account the multitude of texts of this type, the selection of the most representative among them was limited. The authors' intention is to draw attention to the potential of these texts and the dangers of misreading them. The call for reflection began by presenting the legitimacy of the research activities undertaken and their conceptual assumptions. The issues relating to the developmental characteristics of persons with mild intellectual disabilities were examined, intra-group differentiation of the population concerned, taking into account in the characteristics of the reference group, the way in which the characteristics described are valued and the relationship between the different characteristics of the functioning of the described collective is shown. Information on the form of the analyzed characteristics will be presented in the next publication.

    Opis:
    Introduction: Bastard balm grows in forests, in central and southeastern part of Europe. The herb of this species is rich in phenolics, mainly flavonoids, phenolic acids and coumarins. The plant is used in traditional European medicine, in digestive problems and for aromatizing tobacco and alcohol products. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of shading on bastard balm development and the accumulation of phenolics in its herb, with special respect to coumarin as a quality marker of this raw material. Methods: The plants were cultivated in full sunlight, in 30% and 50% shade provided by shading nets. The herb was harvested from plants in the third year of vegetation, at four subsequent developmental stages and then subjected to chemical evaluation. In the raw material, the total contents of flavonoids, phenolic acids and coumarins was determined. The content of coumarin was analyzed using HPLC-DAD. Results: Plants grown in 30% shade produced the highest number of flowers and seeds. They produced the highest mass of herb at the beginning of the seed-setting stage. The plants grown in full sunlight revealed the highest content of flavonoids and phenolic acids, especially during flowering and at the beginning of the seed-setting stage. The mass of herb obtained by plants cultivated at deep (50%) shade was the lowest, however, the content of coumarin in these plants was the highest. Conclusion: The influence of shade on bastard balm was expressed by the herb mass and coumarin content increment. The plants thrived best in 30% shade, both in terms of flowering abundance and the mass of herb, whereas those from 50% shade were the richest in coumarin.

    The paper deals with the impact of the social background for developmental disorders, searching for unfavorable factors in the three most important surroundings – family, school, contemporary group. Hence the analysis was made with signs of improper interpersonal relations and life conditions encroaching on mental balance that can be found in social agencies (school, family), responsible for personal development and behavior. Basing upon selected theoretical works and my diagnostic and therapeutic experience, various negative effects on personal development were illustrated, given the ill-adapted familial and educational systems, as well as informal roles played in contemporary groups. The paper got its material focused on the familial environment where personality traits and parental attitudes, ways of communication and pathological mechanisms permanently generate factors that appear unfavorable for personal social development (toxic messages, enforced loyalty, role delegation,collusion relationships). A particular emphasis was put on the role of social factors in the origins of both primary and secondary disorders, and on the fact that signs of difficulties and disorders a youngster meets may be an indirect reaction to factors infringing on his/her psychological balance or else – actualized belatedly when assuming new social roles.
